It's really up to you, but i think it would be easier if she was a prisoner. You could also say she was security for the pirates until she found out what was going on
or she somehow found herself as a spectator in the crowd

Your characters can be prisoners, members of the crowd, people working under the pirates, someone who accidentally found themselves there.

The marines are transporting prisoners to sell to the pirates in charge of the arena. The owners of said arena will be the ones who'll throw the prisoners in to fight.

Yeah. I get you. He can be useful in a pinch but its just for a pinch. If he helped with a broken limb, you'd still need a doctor to set it right. If there's a hole in the ship he can plug it, but it would be wise to get the shipright to double check.

Looks good. The only question I have is how did she go about learning fishman karate? Did other fishmen just offer to teach it to her? Did she stay with some here and there and naturally picked it up?

It's not a big deal as your character is accepted. I'm just curious because a point was made she grew up being cut off from her fishmen heritage. So I figured spending time with fishmen would have been more noteworthy.

At first I was a bit iffy about having a jack of all trades character(due to bad past experiences), but then I remembered every case is special. So your character is approved!
