Description: Sayuri is twenty-one years old and of average height-- about 5'4 or 5'5. She's not necessarily thin, but neither is she chubby; she bears some extra fat on her hips and thighs, though it isn't noticeable unless you were to see her undressed. Sayuri prefers to wear long-sleeved shirts no matter the season, along with skirts that drift past her thighs. Overall, she doesn't seem to be comfortable enough to ear exposing clothing, and when asked, she says that they make her feel "slutty". Quite shy and reserved, she doesn't seem to like to talk much or draw much attention to herself. Despite this, she's a hopeless romantic and overbearing dreamer. Many aspirations overtake her, though she doesn't seem motivated enough to carry them out. Little do people know, she's an avid lover of birds.
World Building: Kodama Hiroyuki: Sayuri's longtime boyfriend, whom she currently lives with. She always talks well about him, even though he might seem a bit controlling and, well... a little commandeering.
Inouye Hisoka: Hiroyuki's drug-dealer. He spends a lot of time with her, which honestly bothers Sayuri a lot, though he insists that there's nothing between them. Hisoka seems rather apathetic, especially around Sayuri.
Miyasguta Nobuo: Sayuri's boss at Bon Appe-tea. While rather young, he's quite boisterous and quick on his feet. He cares about his business very much.
Bon Appe-tea: A small cafe where Sayuri works part time as a waitress/cashier. She doesn't earn much money, but since it's so close to where she lives, she doesn't get home late. She's just glad that Hiroyuki likes it, too. Located in the Northeastern District, it's supposed to be a little cozy go-to for all types of people.
A very specific, mossy wharf: A normal-looking part of the fisherman's in the Eastern District. There doesn't seem to be anything special about it, but it's where Sayuri goes when she needs space. She makes sure to not go when it's populated by fishermen.
The Feather and Seed: When she isn't working, studying, or hanging out with her boyfriend, Sayuri can be seen skirting around the cages at The Feather and Seed. This small establishment is home to a variety of rescued bird breeds and serves as an adoption agency rather than a shop. Sayuri lends a hand when she's able. Located in the Western District, The Feather and Seed has been around for generations, first having been started by an older couple over one hundred years ago.
For some reason, the sight of New Bark Town just beyond Cho's windowpane pulled at her heartstrings. This was where she had grown up-- it was her hometown, after all. She had spent most of her twenty-three years within its confines. No doubt it held some importance to her. She turned away from the sunny sight, her eyes shifting to rest on the packed bag that rested on her bed. A change of clothing had been neatly folded at the bottom of the satchel, and atop that rested some snacks, berries, her Pokegear, and a six-set of Pokeballs. It wouldn't be smart to overpack; the best course of action would be to travel lightly. Even if she didn't mind the weight, what made her think that she wouldn't get robbed at some point?
Her thoughts were disrupted when a small figure fluttered through the narrow gap in the window. The bird Pokemon darted to her shoulder, where it perched and crooned tiredly. Cho smiled at it, lifting a finger to scratch behind its head. Kite's head tipped to the side, his croons turning into a purr of delight. "Everyone should be getting ready to go, huh?" she asked him, and the Taillow bobbed his head in reply. "Then let's get going."
Cho's footsteps thumped against the wooden stairs as she descended to the first floor. Already she could smell bacon, eggs, and toast-- was her mom really cooking a heavy breakfast? She walked into their small kitchen to see her mother hard at work, her black hair tied up in a taut ponytail as she sweltered over the stove.
"Cho! You're leaving already?" her mom lifted her head to glance at her. "I thought you'd eat breakfast first!"
"Sorry mom, but Kite said everyone's almost done getting ready. I really don't want to be late!" Cho rushed over to her and gave her a half-hug before picking up a piece of bacon from one of the plates. "I promise I'll call when I can. I'll even send gifts."
"Oh... well, goodbye, sweetheart. Be careful out there, you hear? It's dangerous for young people like you. And make sure to eat--"
"Mom, it's Johto-- how dangerous can it be? There's cops like, everywhere!" Cho chirped with vigor as she pulled away. She popped the piece of bacon into her mouth, devouring it within a few moments before opening her mouth to bellow as she walked out the door. "Love you, mom! Talk to you later!"
And with that, she was off. Cho sprinted through the small streets of New Bark Town, feeling the warm summer breeze on her skin as Kite flew beside her. Already, she could see the treeline that belonged to nothing other than Route 29-- and yet, she didn't see any of her friends. She slowed to a halt to catch her breath, leaning heavily on the signpost that stood near the exit. DANGER-- WILD POKEMON AHEAD, it read. Kite perched on the sign beside her, pecking away on its edge. A sigh left her. Where was everyone?
Facade: Sayuri's the definition of a curious cat. She craves adventure and intrigue, and has been known to research different topics in order to sate her interest. Gullible, naive, and almost overly sweet, Sayuri can be considered a pushover to those who don't know her well. She's also somewhat clingy and has been known to shadow people she considers friends. She's definitely a follower rather than a leader, and this might tie into the fact that she was a social outcast during her early youth. When nervous or afraid, she doesn't speak much, and hardly knows how to stand up for herself. At least she's trying to better herself.
Core: Sayuri pursues the unnatural happenings merely out of curiosity. She wants to know who's the culprit behind them, and hopefully figure out if they pose a threat to herself or those she cares about.
"The title of Johto League Champion is already within my reach!"
Name: Cho Toyama
Nicknames: ...
Age: 23
Gender: Female
Appearance: Standing at 5'8, Cho is rather slim for her age; she doesn't seem to pack on any weight no matter what she eats. Her legs are rather long and toned from years of running and climbing. She has a couple of scars that run over her body from some of her nastiest falls, the most prominent being the one that run diagonally over her left knee and around her thigh. Her eyes are honey-colored and glow with a rather friendly warmth, and her hair is very, very dark brown. She loves wearing waistcoats, stockings, skirts, and sweaters, along with sweatpants and tank-tops.
Personality: Cho is a spunky, active young woman. There's hardly a time in which she remains still for long enough, and often goes on her own "adventures", whether they be with friends or on her own. These adventures haven't spanned much further than Cherrygrove, though Cho always seems to find herself in trouble, no matter the distance. Hot-tempered and sharp-tongued, she finds it difficult to stay quiet, especially when she sees something she considers unjust, unfair, or cruel. She's known to playfully bicker with her friends and is an avid lover of jokes and pranks.
Even though she might be seen as overly-ambitious or a troublemaker, Cho has a good heart. No doubt will she stand up for what's right and confront what's wrong, even if that puts her well-being at risk. She has also been known to protect her friends, no matter how much trouble she may get in afterwards.
Short Biography: Cho was born in New Bark Town during a very cold winter morning. She was the first child of the newly wedded Toyamas, and when she arrived, she was immediately pampered and spoiled to no end. Her early life was spent hovering about New Bark Town and making friends with the locals and nearby Pokemon. When she was six, her little brother came into the picture, and that was when everything changed. Much like they had done with her, her parents spoiled little Saito. Having felt like she was suddenly cast to the side, she decided that she would tend to her own curiosities and intrigue for adventure. Much to her parents' concern, she began to roam the woods, sometimes becoming lost, but finding her way back home after a few hours of searching.
When she was eleven years old, Cho told her parents that she wished to partake in the Johto League. They were very much against the idea and forbid her to leave on such an adventure. Out of frustration, she rushed into the forest and kept running deeper and deeper for a long while. It was then that Cho realized that she had become really, really lost; it had been about to turn dark and after four hours of searching for a way back, she encountered no sign of nearing home or even Cherrygrove. She huddled down in a spot and began to cry-- and it was just her luck for a small Taillow to hear her sobs. The small bird Pokemon guided her back to New Bark Town at long last, though much to her surprise, the bird kept visiting her after that-- even when she had been punished for her foolish behavior.
Years passed and Kite and Cho continued to hold adventures of their own. The Taillow would keep an eye out for danger or guide her back onto the right path when she was lost. Kite would even deliver parcels to her friends when she was too lazy to leave home. Yet, as Cho grew older, she found New Bark Town growing smaller and smaller. Eventually, it would be far too tiny to contain her sense of adventure.
On her twenty-first birthday, Saito gifted her a wonderful present: a very small, soft, and fluffy Shinx cub. The poor thing had been left abandoned on the side of the road a few days back, and he thought the Shinx was a proper gift for his sister. The Shinx grew very close to Cho, as close as Kite had done with her. The three of them were inseparable, and eventually, Kite and Pip further fueled her desire to leave home. Now old enough to make her decisions, twenty-three-year-old Cho told her parents she would be departing on a journey to become champion, much to their disappointment. She plans to make them proud by defeating all eight of the region's gym leaders and claiming her rightful place as the Johto League Champion.

@ERode Alrighty. I still kind of don't know what kind of character I'll be striving for, but I'm actively thinking about it. Just asking, are we allowed to make different species? I was thinking of the typical, cat-eared female, but if you're not allowing non-human characters then it's no biggie. Just asking out of curiosity. And will you be making a discord?
