Current "Doing your best" does not mean working yourself to the point of a mental breakdown. Its no longer your best at that point.

The word homeowner has the word "meow" in it. Good luck pronouncing it correctly ever again. You're welcome ^.^

When everything seems wrong...something goes right, and it changes darkness into light, and makes the shadows a little less daunting.

People cry, not because they are weak. It's because they've been strong for too long

the bad thing about being bullied is that every time it happens it steals a little piece of who you are if it happens enough little by little you become a little less of who you were meant to be.

please don't worry about the post length, write what you can. I know it's a little difficult while waiting for everyone to be introduced. Or at least a majority of them.
Phoebe

Location: inside school gates
interacting with Megumi @Scarifar

Phoebe walked away in a better mood then when she had left the group that had interrupted. She didn’t want to go back to them, that girl still sparked anger in her mind just from a quick thought of her. Yet she wanted to make sure that Megumi didn’t think bad of her… she stopped, looking about her, torn between what she wanted. Did she wanted to bring about more trouble? Phoebe couldn’t ever remember wanting to cause trouble… she’d been good in the orphanage… when she was old enough. She’d helped looked after the little ones… she’d enjoyed that, she’d been happy.

And then the fighting had started. Phoebe had just turned 18, when talk of the treaty began, the rumors circulating of it.... That some of the greats, and the worsts were teaming up, to try and take control of the situation. And that had been the only time Phoebe had ever sought to break her internal vow. She been prepared to use her powers, her abilities, to protect the orphanage. The only home she’d ever known…

Yet although the surrounding areas, towns had had some damage, the orphanage had been untouched… Phoebe still wasn’t sure why. She’d made sure the little ones were safe, happy, and unharmed in anyway by what had been going on, and then she’d left, when she’d turned 18. She got a job, saved some money up, did what she could, before she got the letter from Bruce Wayne himself… or just a copy of a generic letter, at least.

And she knew her mother would be here… and for the first time, Phoebe thought she might just get answers. Shifting, Phoebe looked over to Megumi. For a moment she thought she was teetering on an edge… she could go one of two ways… the way that just took pleasure, or… the one that did the right thing. The right thing was something she had always done. It was imbedded into her… but having a bit of fun couldn’t be that bad, could it?

She sighed, before she walked over to Megumi, ignoring the others from the group that had interrupting them if she was still with them. She hesitated, not sure what to say.. ”Hi” she said softly, ”I’m sorry, for everything so far”
I'm sorry it took a few days to get a post out, but I'm pleased with the results. And I do hope it is okay, its been a rough couple of days.
Niesha

Location: Infirmary (building 1)

Niesha returned Gavin’s nod, although she was more into her own thoughts… she sighed softly. There really was no point going over and over the same thoughts in her mind. She just couldn’t top herself… it was always the same, trying to find some logical in an illogical situation… as with everything that involved humans and emotions, logic didn’t seem to play a part in it. She sighed again, gaze going towards the ceiling for a moment or two, drawing in a deep breath.

She wasn’t going to cry.

There was no point to it. At the knock on the door, she turned back around, managing a half smile for Jack, which quickly faded. She wasn’t good at reading emotions, despite her time here, it had never been something she was good at. Oh, there were times where she showed a hint of insight to people, but it wasn’t often… she was better with kids… kids were generally completely honest, whereas adults had had years to perfect perfect faces, lies… She knew she had gotten better, but...

”I don’t think either of them are here- at least I haven’t seen either since I stepped in a moment ago. I was just seeing if there was anything I can do…” she blinked, a small semblance of shock rolling over her features for a second. She was rambling… she never rambled… or it was something that was a rare thing. The morning’s events seemed to have phased her more than she thought. She drew in another breath, cleared her throat, remembered that she was a medical professional, even if there was no such title in this world anymore. ”Sorry, Jack. Maybe I can help?” had something happened to Tatiana? No, of course not, he’d been looking for her… she didn’t quite know where her mind was at, and she struggled to bring it back to the task at hand. ”Has something else happened?”
Luna listened to the discussion between Raymond and Juliette, not able to understand them, but their voices told her a lot. Kind, caring… loving. She sighed softly, hoping that things would work out for them… and wanting to do something for them. She glanced away from them to give them privacy, looking back ahead once more.

As they reached the taxi service, Luna looked about with more than a little curiosity, wondering how things worked here... yet it seemed remarkably similar to back home. Getting into the car, Luna remained quiet after the treatment Edward received, deciding it wasn't worth the effort to have the man be polite. Especially given that they probably didn't speak the same language. And she’d rather only anger people who deserved it. She smiled to herself, and looked out the window.

She was content as they continued on their journey, no stranger to heat, Luna remembered fondly times working in the hospital. Sometimes it grew so hot when you were working, that she was no longer aware of it. And really, there was no point complaining about it. No one could control the weather. As the huge spire grew closer and closer, Luna watched with apprehensive, curiosity, but no fear. She was rather interested in the artifact, and she was a little in awe of it. She couldn't imagine anything anymore... mystical then that. How it got there, she had no idea... but she was sure the answer was interesting.

Luna climbed out the taxi when they stopped, staring at the construct above her. She started to walk, not sure why... but knowing she wanted to explore it, and find answers to the many numerous questions she had. And then, as seemed common with them, all hell broke loose. She was beginning to think that they should just expect something to happen whenever they did something… first there was the ship itself, the fire… then it was that island, and what happened there… then the plane, and landing here… and now this.

She quickly moved to help Edward balance, but he had already raced off, towards the entrance. she already knew that they wouldn't be able to force it open, yet she followed Edward. Instead of wasting anymore time at the door, Luna returned to the cube, crouching and studying it, a little unnerved. Yet there was no point panicking, what use would it do? She looked up at Edward, in time to see the rock.

She dove, from her crouch position, she skidded along the ground, skin scraping off when bare skin met harsh ground, and she rolled, wincing at the large amount of stinging sensation. She rolled onto her feet, and up, glancing about to make sure that everyone was okay... and swallowing as she realised the collision had caused some serious damage.

Luna didn't need Edward to tell her to look after the two, she was already running towards them, looking to Raymond, her heart beating fast, her ears ringing slightly from the loud crashes, not aware that she was bleeding from numerous scrapes, and small cuts- and indeed even if she was, she was sure that she wouldn't care. ”Come on! Let’s get her to safety, okay? You’re going to have to trust me, okay?” she said, already trying to think how they could lead Juliette away, without her getting hurt. Or at least not seriously hurt. She looked over Juliette, reaching up to brush hair out of her eyes, raking blood and sweat along her hand as she did so. Although at this point it was hard to tell, she seemed to be covered in both. ”I’m going to get you both to safety”

Barca Ashur Xavier

Location inside the school gates
Interacting with: Cole @BlackPanther

Barca was still looking after the dog, finding the encounter to still be rather… weird. While animals weren’t typically something he could hear, he did have the ability the understand animals… sometimes. While his father could, it was still an ability that he needed to work on. Sometimes, when the animal was particularly strong of mind, or just… had powerful thoughts, Barca could hear them. He suspected that the dog might be the latter… he seemed rather simple, beyond anything else. The dog appeared to have found something, or someone else to occupy his mind, for which Barca was grateful. He did want a god asking for permission every time it wanted to go to the toilet.

That would just be beyond tedious.

He looked around at the sound of footsteps, frowning as the boy whose thoughts he couldn’t read approached him. He watched, making no move to approach the boy, standing straight, one hand holding Glaber’s cage, the other down by his side. All business man, and one that clearly thought he was above most of the others around him. Or that’s what it seemed like at least. He kept his gaze on the boy approaching him, a little wary of him.

If he couldn’t read his thoughts how was Barca to know if the guy was going to kill him? He studied him, trying to work out why he couldn’t break through, why he couldn’t read his thoughts In all his life, no one had ever managed to be immune to his telepathy. There were people who had shields… but he didn’t think this mere boy did. An immunity seemed preposterous, and yet it also seemed like the only logical conclusion. His father would hear about it, that was for sure. He’d have to ask, and see if he had ever come across someone who was immune.

The boy didn’t seem to be anything special, there were more interesting looking people around him. Not that Barca particularly cared. His gaze drifted back to where he had left Naeva, and her brother. Well. He mostly didn’t care, at least. Barca liked to be challenged, but he didn’t like being treated, nor looked like he was nothing but gum on the bottom of one’s shoe. Her brother would realise that. His gaze moved back towards the oncoming boy, his expression blank, not revealing any emotion his thoughts might spark.

Barca studied the boy’s facial expressions, watching for any signs of cues, although Barca didn’t consider himself an expert in that. He normally just relied on people’s thoughts… a lapse he would soon rectify. Still, as the boy stopped, Barca made to try and reach his mind, searching for a way through the barrier, and not finding one. The small pressure he put on didn’t even seem to do anything to the barrier, and Barca sighed softly to himself.

”Hello” Barca said in return, his greeting lacking almost as much as the boys. He stood there, waiting for more from the boy. After all, he had approached him first. Finally though, Barca said ”is there something you wanted?”
