Luke looked up at the sudden voice, his face betraying the confusion and slight suspicion he was feeling. He never had a very good poker face. However he was desperate. He'd take any chance he had right now. So his features softened, returning to a more hopeless look. "She'll be where I left her." He said quietly, not overly wanting to reveal too much about Ash's location. "In the garage of her house. We've been hiding there since the beginning of the outbreak." He stood up finally, looking at the older woman, trying to guess what her intention here was.

Still, he had no other choice, so he was going to take any help he could get. "Please, she's just a little girl. She's hungry and she'll be scared. She won't survive on her own. I just need to get back to her. Please. You've been here longer than me. I just need a way out... Or if you could point me in the direction of someone who can help..." He shook his head slightly and hung it in despair. "I didn't want to come here. They found me and said I needed to 'for my own safety' once they realised I wasn't bit." Sinking back to the ground Luke looked along the wall hopelessly.

They think they're safe here. But they're wrong. This place will fall, it's a freaking buffet. It's just a matter of how long. He didn't plan to be around to see things turn to hell and he certainly didn't plan to have Ash around for it either. He'd already seen her left behind by selfish people looking out for only themselves. He looked back up at the woman sadly. "Please? I'm all she has right now."
It was starting to get later in the day, past noon at least and into the mid-afternoon and the camp had been fairly quiet. However all that changed with the return of another scouting party of the military. The truck pulled in, and a pair of guards climbed out, holding a boy who looked to be in his early twenties, struggling and screaming. “God damn it let me go! You don’t understand!” Luke screamed for what felt like the millionth time. They didn’t seem to care.

“Sir, we’ve talked about this. It’s not safe on the streets out there with the infected. Your best hope for survival is here.”

“Fuck you! I said let me go!” He was dragged inside the main gate and it was locked securely behind him. Luke turned instantly and made for the fence, however stopped as one of the soldiers raised their guns at him.

“We can’t allow you to do that, son.”

“You don’t understand! She’s still out there! She won’t survive on her own! I have to get back to her! I- I could show you just-” The army man raised his gun just slightly and Luke looked at him with eyes that had a mixture of pleading, sadness and anger all mixed into one. However he was not stupid. If he kept making a scene like this it wouldn’t get him out, just deeper into this mess.

“Don’t worry kid, we’ll find your friend-” The man tried to console, but Luke didn’t want to hear it.

He turned and walked away, his eyes scanning all along the perimeter, looking for a way out. Every now and then he’d glance over people’s faces, all looking at him with fear because he’d caused a scene. No doubt they thought he was crazy, who would chose the outside over this place. He hadn’t chosen to come here. It was just as dangerous as everywhere else. Sure there was no infected, but it was crowded, and if one person got infected, he could only imagine how long it would take for it to spread to everyone, trapped in a big cage like this. Over crowded.

He felt safer back with Ash. Sitting down by a wall he hung his head in despair. They’d never find her. He told her to wait for him. Told her he’d be back before nightfall. What would happen when he didn’t come back? She’d think he died. Or got the chomp. Would she leave? Or stay like he told her? He didn’t want to think about her sitting there, waiting for him as she starved to death. “Don’t worry, Ash. I’m going to come back.” He promised softly.
(Everyone will have to forgive me because I live in Australia and I don’t know American landscapes very well. So I only have google to go off what the locations look like)

Name: Luke Walker
Age: 23
Appearance: 6’1”, well built muscles from his work at home. He has slightly long brown hair that sweeps to the side and curls gently, and brown eyes.
Gender: Male
Family: Mother, Father (fate unknown)

Personality: Luke is generally caring and compassionate guy, however is not afraid to speak his mind if he thinks someone is acting irrationally or recklessly. He can sometimes be perceived as someone who is a bit of a jerk, due to the fact that he'll make decisions logically, rather than emotionally, weighing up all possibly options and then the pros and cons of those options.

It's not so much that he doesn't care, it's more just that he wants to make sure those he cares about survives and he places a higher priority on that than people's feelings.

Bio: Growing up in a large rural town (don’t ask me for a specific location because I have no clue about America geography in California).Luke was raised on a cattle farm, but had dreams for bigger things. He recently left home with the intention of getting some great job in Los Angeles, however after 6 months he was beginning to run out of money and options. It was shortly after this that the outbreak occurred. Luke was actually at the airport at the time of the initial outbreak, getting ready to board a plane home.

The place went into lock down and he, along with all the other travellers were stuck inside. That only lasted a few days before the panic set in and people started rioting. There was chaos as the crowds overpowered the security, broke through doors and windows and scattered into the roads.

He found Ashley sitting in a corner of the airport, crying over her mother who had died in the riot, a sharp blow to her head on one of the counters. And couldn't, in good conscience, leave her there on her own. The initial plan was to find someone more suited to take care of her, since he had no clue about how to care for a little girl. However as the days turned into weeks he found himself growing attached to her.

Job Before The Outbreak: Unemployed

Disability/Fear: Clasutraphobia

Weapon of Choice: Machete owned by Ash's father.

Name: Ashley (Ash) Carney
Age: 10
Appearance: 4'2", slim build, long, waist length, brown hair and green eyes.
Gender: Female
Family: Mother (deceased), Father (fate uncertain)

Personality: Ash is a mostly quiet girl. She is easy enough to warm up to people, and displays and innocent, trusting almost naive nature towards mostly everyone who is kind to her. She is mostly ruled by her emotions when it comes to making decisions.

Bio: Born and raised in Las Angeles she lives in a small town-house complex with her mother, whom works full time as a nurse and her father who works as a flight attendant. She gets along well enough in school, though prefers to have just a few close friends rather than many. Her father often has to travel for work, meaning she doesn’t get to see him as often as she'd like, and her mother often works late nights, meaning she is left home with various babysitters.

The day of the outbreak she and her mother were at the airport, waiting for a flight her father was on to land. However they soon discovered the airport had been locked down, and no planes were allowed to land. Over the next few days they waited for the airport staff to tell them they were allowed to leave, but the days wore on and soon the people stuck in the airport, hungry and frustrated, began to grow more and more aggressive, eventually blowing out into a full blown mob.

In the panic, Brianna, Ashley's mum, tried to protect her, but was shoved out of the way by a rather angry member. She fell, and hit her head against one of the counters, killing her instantly. Ashley, uncertain of what to do next, could think only to sit there and wait for her dad to come back.

Job Before The Outbreak: School
Disability/Fear: Physically Weak
Weapon of Choice: A kitchen knife Luke gave to her.

For the on the run part, we'll have her collect a few crystal fragments first, maybe 2 or 3 depending on how long it takes us and then we'll plan out a more public confrontation and have it happen there. You'll see it coming, don't worry :)
A few seconds after his name was called the being seemed to materialise out of thin air in a wave of glittering particles, his arms crossed over his chest and his body relaxed. “You called?” He asked, looking down at her curiously. It was strange, now that he thought about it. He had been outside, sitting on the roof, and then he had heard her calling his name in his mind, rather than out loud. From there it had been easy enough. He had spent the night exploring his new environment and powers. So far he had figured out how to move things without touching them, and teleport himself.

He was still unsure of so many things, but had stayed mostly out of Alexa’s room because he didn’t want to intrude on her privacy. His eyes looked over to Tommy as the cat sleepily woke and sauntered over to him and rubbed against his leg before pawing at his foot. His eyes cast down t the cat and he smiled again. “Was there something you needed?” Astral then asked, turning his attention back to Alexa.
Astral nodded slightly at the request, thinking if he was imposing his presence upon her he could at least do this. “I will do my best to respect your privacy.” He acknowledged as he looked around. “I do not need to stay in the room if it would make you more comfortable.” He offered, seeing as how, so far he hasn’t felt tired, and he wondered if he had the same needs that she did. Or maybe they would come in time too. He wasn’t entirely sure how this all worked, human needs. Looking over to the door he found himself wondering along the same likes as Alexa, could he interact with things of this world? Moving over to the door he placed a hand on it, feeling this strange sense of relief as he felt the solid metal beneath his palm and it turned in response to his touch.
His eyes once again drifted to her and he shrugged his shoulders slightly. “I see no way to return to where I came from, so for now I could not say when I would leave. I am unsure of many things, and am unable to answer any of your questions any better than you would. For now, the connection I feel with that gem and you makes me think I will be staying close. I do not know if it is even possible for me to wander very far from you.” He shrugged again as he rolled over so he was lying on his back in the air.. “Maybe my memories will return in time. I do not know. For now, I am simply doing what feels right. With no past experiences to draw on, it is the only thing I can do.” His turned his head and his eyes looked back to her slowly, curious. “Do you wish for me to leave?”
Astral looked at her curiously but simply shook his head. "I am afraid not. All I remember was darkness, and then this strange feeling like I needed to be somewhere, the next thing I knew there were lights rushing towards me and I stopped them." As she pulled out the crystal he looked at it curiously and moved closer, hovering over the bed, Astral reached out towards the stone and watched as it began glowing slightly the closer his hand got. However he did not touch it and pulled away, the crystal dimming back to normal at the absence of his presence.

"It certainly seems connected to me somehow." He acknowledged, looking down at the cat as it moved towards him. The being reached out and gently placed a hand on the cat's head, as he had seen Alexa do and watched as it rubbed against him. It was soft, and warm and a small flicker of a smile appeared on Astral's face at the contact. "I doubt I could say much more than that for now. However I do have a theory that this all may be connected to you somehow as well. I believe it was your peril that called me to this world from wherever I was before. Though for what purpose I could not say."
Astral’s eyes shot up at her as she spoke, breaking the silence of the room. His strange eyes locked with her and he sat there silently for a long time, as if he were evaluating something in his mind. Eventually he took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, before speaking again after his long bout of silence. “Astral.” He said softly, like last time it was a soft, soothing voice and it was hard to tell exactly what emotion was behind it. It was one of those voices that just installed calm in those who heard it and it showed he clearly didn’t think himself a threat to her.

“My name is Astral… if I recall.” His face became slightly troubled at this statement and he cast his eyes downward again in thought. In all honesty he wasn’t sure. “But I am afraid that is all I can tell you. For not only do I not recall who I am, but I do not recall much of anything, before meeting you that is.” His eyes looked back up to sharply, focusing on the girl as if he were trying to figure her out. Why was he here? Why could he not remember? Why her? She seemed just as confused as he was, and he could sense she was still hesitant around him, scared. However he was not sure what to say to calm this fear.
Kari looked at her friend uncertainly as she tried to tell her she was fine. Seeing things didn't sound fine to her. But she figured it was nothing to worry about until tomorrow. Alexa must just be shaken up by the experience. She's not physically hurt, so there was no need to go jumping the gun. She looked out the window as the ambulances raced past, the lights casting colourful shadows up onto the walls and ceiling as they passed and she nodded slightly at the other girl's statement. When she was told Alexa wanted some time to herself the girl looked uncertain and shook her head slightly.

"I wouldn't feel right leaving you alone for the night..." She trailed off, also not wanting to disrespect her friend's wishes. "But if you really want me to go... just promise you'll call me if anything happens, and tomorrow when you get up if you could just call... or text if you don't want to call to let me know how your doing?" She smiled slightly as she moved over to the door. "We'll catch up when you're feeling better." She informed her, giving her a soft smile as she opened the door. "Feel better." She encouraged as she closed the door behind her and let herself out the front door, locking it behind her.

Once the other girl had left Astral turned his gaze away from where she had been and looked back to Alexa. His gaze was curious, possibly slightly confused as he looked at her, like he wasn't sure what came next or what to expect from her. He hadn't like the scowl she had given him, and he was not overly sure what he had done to earn it. Everything was very confusing for him right now and he floated down until he was level with the bed, his legs crossed and his arms folded over his chest as he looked down slightly; deep in thought.
