High Concept: A careless stranger, delighting in the chances.
Trouble: Risks everything in fair circumstances.
Origin: Rotting in a homestead, ran away.
Growth: Tired of security, will gamble until dead.
Adventure: Why not?
Bio: Mystral is the daughter of prestige, the epitome of royalty. Born from the union of aristocrats that hail from wealthy countries, it was inevitable, even destined that she lived a sheltered, rigid and symbolically ‘perfect’ life.
Honor and wealth is equivalent to health. -Farron Motto
--which is exactly why she left Frankreich in the first place.
Mystral, despite her ‘perfect’ upbringing, was not entertained by all the formalities of royalty. She dreaded every day, knowing that there were hands to be shook and treaties to be signed to ensure a ‘good and prosperous life’ for the citizens of Frankreich. She could hardly give a damn what those peasants had to think or say.
It was a droll life, a boring, tidy, and predictable life, until she decided that on her eighteenth birthday, she would leave for good. She enjoys a life of risk, the more dangerous, the better.
Soon, she finds herself a life of gambling, living in excess whenever possible. “The thrill of uncertainty”, she says. Mystral hopped from city to city, leaving all ties once her infamy rises far enough to have her evicted, but never through anyone’s force. If she ever left in debt, the payment was sure to follow, never weeks behind.
Mystral leaves every single place with a formal curtsy, a gracious smile, and a handwritten note-- usually left at the last table she stays on. This earned her the moniker of ‘Felicity’, for wherever she may go, her smile never falters.
Goodbye, thank you and good riddance.
One such encounter of hers included meeting with The God of Gambling himself, known by many names-- in this setting, he is Argente. By some stroke of trickery, she was able to out-trick Argente to bet his godhood.
She proposed a special form of wager, where once something is bet on the 'table', it cannot be withdrawn. The only way to keep the object wagered is to win it. By having him put his godhood on the table, she effectively robbed him of the power to cheat. Mystral won 'fairly' by human means (Counting the cards and waiting for the opportune moment to propose an all in), opposed to the god who used his control of fate and reality to bend the favors to his liking.
Mystral did this to prove a point to Argente, briefly giving back the godhood as she has no interest in unfair manipulation-- under some conditions: 1) She will not be smote, nor punished for her trickery, and 2) She is gifted the ability to Wager anything.
Ability: Wager
Trump, Mover/ Stranger, Brute, Thinker
Mystral has the ability to bet anything, may it be tangible or non-tangible. In essence, she could outsmart a man to bet his intellect, or outdrink a body builder for their strength. The drawback is that she must also put something of equal value-- so there will be no unfairness when it comes to the stakes; she cannot bet an egg to gain someone's chicken. In the same essence, she must bet her life to gain a life.
With this ability, she has been able to wager other abilities out of other users, and has since garnered a collection of powers such as superhuman prowess (Brute 4 level), and portal conjuration (Mover/ Stranger). (For the sake of being fair, this will be the only two I propose she could use.)
Appearance: Abi likes to wear gothic attire; she thinks it matches well with her power. The black accents also provide decent camouflage for when she needs to stay in darkness to hide.
Year: 2
Rank: Novice
Room No.:
Personality: Abi is a naive girl who, above all, is the quintessential little princess, barring some few princess-like behaviour. Her upbringing had taught the niceties of life, such as how to compose oneself in front of esteemed guests, table etiquette and public relations. Above it all, she is tactful, knowing the right time to make an impression, and to act as she pleases.
When she does want to have her way, you would see a girl that would tell no lies. If she has to, she'll shatter someone's glass of illusion to help them accept their 'true self', as she did hers. Abi took her social grooming as a way to impose the truth. In her words:
"Why would I lie to you? I have nothing to lose, and you have all to gain. Isn't it nice to not pretend once in a while~?"
She thinks that the best path is the truest path, and would rather not trouble herself with unnecessary breadths. Due to this belief, Abi developed a rash attitude when push comes to shove, often landing her in situations that could have been resolved with words.. but then again, one cannot argue with vile-blooded mad men.
She is fond of things that shine and is covetous of unique objects.
Magic Discipline: Alter-Conjuration (Shadow). A special type of conjuration that relies on the host's willpower. This branch focuses on channeling one's inner desires, or true self, into a form that embodies how the host sees themselves as, and using the elements that they are born with. Mixed elements are possible, but are weaker in comparison to single-element users (min-maxing) The alter is closely tied to its host's emotions and psyche.
The most pertinent drawback of this power is that a host and alter cannot be conscious at the same time, requiring the host to hide, or risk being harmed while their alter is active. Both forms share the same memories and personality, but the alter is a much more raw expression of said memories and personalities. Where a host can hold some restraint in speech and action, the alter is unbound of such tethers. In the same stroke, the host is able to summon and manipulate the element, yet the more difficult spells are locked if their alter is not summoned.
Abilities under this tree include: (ascending by diffculty)
The Host/ Alter manipulates the element. Requires a source nearby. eg. shadow ball to use as a temporary blinder, fireball as damage, water ball to wash hands with. Eager conjurers have been caught using such abilities, leading to the persecution and execution of these inexperienced youth in early times.
The Host/ Alter summons the element and manipulates it. Does not require a source; can work in conjunction with Elemental Manipulation for amplified effect. eg. bigger elemental ball/s, spontaneous combustion, water jet. Some conjurers who do not wish to pursue the magical arts settle for this tier for its practical uses. Many hikers and survivalists use this when low on fire starters. Some firemen risk being discovered by using this ability from time to time.
The Alter summons the element and manipulates it into a static standing form. Does not require a source; can work in conjunction with Elemental Manipulation for amplified effect. This is particularly useful for elements with mass such as ice, and has been successful in acting as shields to protect those behind the wall. The success of ninjas are somewhat attributed to hiding behind shadow walls.
The Alter summons the element and manipulates it around an object, freely able to move the element as they please. A moveable Elemental Wall. Does not require a source; can work in conjunction with Elemental Manipulation for amplified effect. Early records show that this ability has been used as makeshift incinerators.
Due to the rarity and difficulty of making single-element Alter Conjurers, some families opt to preserve this purity; even a strain of a different element would deem a line sullied. Only the highest families could elect their children worthy of even looking at an Alter Conjurer, let alone marry one. To be able to create a single-element offspring, one of the parents has to be a pure-blooded Alter Conjurer, and the other parent having no strain of any magical prowess whatsoever. This arrangement in the Beckett line insured a high degree of wealth and power, both political and magical, as only the richest most powerful families would ever be accepted.
Gender:Attack Helicopter Female
Equipment: a black frilly parasol used for interacting with things that she would otherwise never ever ever want to touch. It is a family heirloom handed down from Beckett mother to daughter. Abi's alter (Aptly named Shade Alter wields a stuffed bear that the alter protects with her 'life'
The male counterpart would be an iron locket bearing the words "Stand up, so others do not fall."
Biography: Abi comes from a lineage of pure-blooded Shadow Alter Conjurers. It has been this way for as long as her bloodline could remember, easily traced back to the beginning of lineage-mapping. Due to this, she had lived her life as sheltered as possible.
Abi, however protected, always found a way to avoid being completely inculcated into the high life. Her hobbies include collecting trinkets and baubles acquired through gifts by jilted suitors, or through trading with other collectors. She is currently in possession of the test tube of Edison's last breath, the first experimental Philosopher's Stone (it doesn't, and will never work), and a well-preserved crusader's suit of armor. Suffice to say, her lifestyle fits to her sophistication.
As a pure-blooded Beckett, she is tasked to use her abilities to help others in need-- specifically the kind that cannot help themselves. There's a certain power trip that comes from acknowledging one's position in the hierarchy; some noblemen opt to revel in this incline, but Abi chooses to just do what duty demands. This makes sure that nobody bothers her when she wants her personal space and time.
She enjoys staying indoors to read ancient tomes and incantations, albeit never being able to use them due to her power restrictions. Someday she hopes of finding someone adequate enough to share this knowledge with. If not, she will just enjoy the linguistics behind the spells.
Abi was also part of a two-person singing group called Night N. Gail; she did this on the side with her childhood best friend, although Abi now focuses on training herself to be an expert Alter Conjurer. The group has then disbanded. She visits this friend from time to time, simply to catch up. The intimate moments the two share can never be known by the public eye.
Master: Kassidy Gazhelle Beckett (Mother)
If Abigail was forced to sacrifice something important to move forward, it would be: her centenarian black parasol. Despite its familial importance, it's just a really old umbrella. If Abigail was offered to have a single wish fulfilled, it would be: to be able to give the wish to someone who needs it more. She already has everything she wants anyway

@HeroicSociopath@Savo Thanks for Clarifying! I'll give the other character sheets a read now.
Also @Rune_Alchemist I'm looking forward to how our characters will interact. This is definitely something to behold when they do ;)
All of these are completely valid. I meant to put in more personality traits, but I opted to post what I had at the time to get input while I fleshed her out in the back.
As per the bloodline magic, I ran it with @TheHangedMan before posting here, and he approved it. If this is going to be a big issue, then I'm willing to change it. :)
I admit Night N. Gail is an ass pull. Not even gonna defend this one; it made more sense when she was an idol in the last RP I used her in ;;
HOWEVER, GENDER IS A SPECTRUM HOW DARE YOU I mixed it up, sorry. Gonna change it in my updated post.
...now do I repost my edited entry or I edit the one that's already there..?
Hi! It's my first time posting; which is also my first time forum RP'ing. Anyway, here's my character submission.
