Personality: Kanna has an infectious smile that could make the sun rise early. She is naturally peppy, bordering on annoyingly so. However, she isn't afraid to speak when she has to speak out; even if she would love to keep the world a bright place. More on this, Kanna is also empathetic, but never to a fault.

Kanna prefers to 'break the glass' nicely, to say sugar-coated truth-- but only the truth.

Kanna is a half-breed between human and mermaid. There are some cases of having a perfect hybrid between the two beings: a half-breed that could essentially live a perfect life above as well as underwater. This incidence is rare, though, as human genes were much too "land-oriented", having no adaptation to living underwater-- opposed to mermaids who are able to live somewhat on land, but are more adept in the water. Because of this, some genetic issues may arrive on half-breed children. These defects range from cosmetic, mental, to outright nervous. Kanna is born with mild dyslexia.

Kanna has gotten a somewhat 40%/60% (Human-Mermaid) split, being more water-oriented. As all mermaids, she can breath underwater through the slits on the side of her chest, and swim fast. She uses these abilities to stay in the swimming varsity without the need for her tail, as the slits hidden under her swimming attire provide sufficient advantage.

She comes from a loving family, if loving meant her parents loved her but not each other. She would be taken out by either mother or father, but seldom do they go as a family. It just seems that the spark between her parents had faded. Because of this, Kanna had developed a mild parent envy from her friends. This has then grown much more once her father died of a stress-induced aneurysm, leaving Kanna and her mother to live together.

Later, she finds out that her mother had a lover, oftentimes inviting him over once the husband and daughter were out of the house. This has then led Kanna to despise her home, staying only to go to sleep and leaving early the next morning.

However, she wouldn't let that affect her too much (than it already does), and tries to maintain a healthy social life with the friends she had acquired.

Special Traits:

Is a half-breed mermaid.

She has slits on her chest area to help her breath underwater, otherwise she will use her nose.

The tail only comes out when underwater (for obvious reasons) and never without her willing it to.

However, she does need to stay hydrated always, like a fish would on ground. Freshwater or seawater is completely edible to her.

Kanna is also not avid of fish. To her, it's cannibalism.

Hunter’s Name: Irelia Vyntr
Age: 25
Appearance: She likes to wear minimal protective clothing, as armor will only hinder her both in swiftness and in sense: her two important assets. Any more than what she already have could make her clumsy and noisy.

Irelia has a permanent stoic face, brought by the ire of being the blind hunter. She had then learned to shut her feelings off in fear of being exploited and ridiculed.

Armored Look

Weapon of choice: Bow and Arrow

Armor of choice: Pauldrons, Greaves and Chestplate. Everything else is leather or cotton

Strengths/Abilities:

1.)Tracking: Can use the environment to find runaways, or locate monsters (tree bark scratches, pieces of cloth, blood trail.) Without sight, she more heavily relies on her other heightened senses. Mostly her hearing. She cannot see a sword coming at her, but the twang from its sheath could easily give it away. She can also somewhat distinguish smells, although regular human capacity would still call it sub-par to tracking dogs.

2.)Hunter's Training: She has extensive experience as a hunter/tracker. Since sensing the environment for giveaways and clues often relied on hearing sounds and examining clues left behind (touching, smelling, tasting), she can still completely apply her training. Part of this training is to live off the land, so she can not only hunt monsters but also scour for food and water.

3.)Trapping: As a disabled hunter, she relies on traps and the like more heavily. Her tactics rely on disabling the other's senses to give her the advantage. She is known to hunt her targets at night.

4.)Nerves: Part of being a tracker is to calm oneself. She exhibits steel senses, both in action and patience. If she could, she would wait for her target to come to her, or fall into her traps. Suffice to say: Silica is not meant for a fair one-to-one, although she could hold her own if needed.

Weaknesses/Hindrances:

1.) Blindness: She cannot see. This in itself is already a major disability, and she tries to make up for it with her other senses. Due to a hunting accident in the past, she has lost her eyesight permanently. The condition of her eyes, defined as a "cold, glassy stare" had earned her the moniker of "Silica"

2.) Frailty: Silica is.. a woman. Despite her senses and wit, her physique is not much to behold. In a fight for strength, she will almost always lose-- however a woman aiming a bow at your chest is still something to fear.

3.) Endurance: Her stamina allows for quick bursts of energy, more so if it's a long walk-- but don't expect her to run a mile and a half continuously.

4.) Swordplay: She is meant for a bow, not a sword. Silica fights with a dagger up close; her frame does not allow her to wield anything bigger than a short sword.
Personality:

History: Silica was not born blind. She hails from a family of hunters. Her father, and mentor, decided that his life would not permit to wait out Silica's hunter training. Where their line of hunters traditionally is raised at age 15, she instead started at 10. Due to this, she was trained to track and hunt instead of the formal bow training first-- she would have to learn that at 15 like all the other hunters in their line.

By age 15, she had been an adept trapsman and tracker, easily outperforming even some professionals. Children learn quickly, and master even quicker. The knots and mechanisms of a proper snare was like a language to her, fluently written by her hands and exclaimed by the creatures that she captures. Her skill would only improve through the years.

Her favourite snare was of her own invention: Fowler, she would call it. The trap was meant to immobilize creatures by spraying them with hogweed essence, an irritant that would render the skin to feel burning. Mostly, her targets would be sprayed at the side, making them itch at first. (The motion made them look like a chicken flapping its wings, which is why the trap is called fowler) She also keeps a remedy with her to 'cure' the irritant before it completely burns through the skin. Silica never used this trap without being nearby-- as the consequences would be dire.

After learning to trap, she then starts her training as a bowman, now having the baseline build for a short hunting bow. Five years later, she 'graduates' as a hunter, tuned to a bow, and even more mastered at tracking/ trapping.

At 20, and on her thirteenth hunt, she was tasked to locate a runaway prisoner. Silica did not intend to hurt the prisoner at all. Her task was to track and bring him to custody, so that's what she aimed to do. However, a scuffle ensues as she was tying the man for round up, having her fall into one of her traps. It would have been safe, if it hadn't been for her falling face first into a fowler trap. She scrambled to get the remedy and quickly have the irritant off her-- but the damage has been done.

She opens her eyes and sees nothing. She tried putting the remedy directly into her sockets-- still nothing. It was then she realized just how catastrophic this trap may be. It was humiliating to fall for one's one trap, but it's completely different to be permanently disabled by it. Silica became an object of ire for some time.

Her skin would heal from the burns, but her eyesight never came back. It took her another three years to regain a fraction of the prowess she had attained as a fully-capable tracker, and another two years to hone the skills unhindered by her disability.

Now, she's ready to face the world again-- as a full-merit hunter.

Aoife, the Techno Fighter

Name: Aoife Valentine

Age: 20

Appearance: Aoife generally likes to flaunt her long black hair; she considers it the best accent to her happy smile. Because of this, almost anything goes-- and she isn't picky with what clothes to wear. She prefers clothing that gives her free movement and many many pockets to 'keep' some of the broken gadgets she finds on her way to places.

Personality: Happy, but serious.

Occupation: Professional Freeloader and Student.

History: Aoife was orphaned as a child; her village was burned and all power-users were executed after one of the local technopaths burned a house down, killing the village chief's daughter. To avoid being part of the massacre, her parents shipped her with a box of dried fish for export. She eventually reaches her destination at [Heavily-Industrial Metropolis. will call it Metro for now. Imagine Blade Runner aesthetic], where a local community of equally-homeless people raised her as one of their own. She was moved from place to place, depending on the occasion. Metro has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to the homeless, and prefers to hide them in unkempt shelters. There, they are given enough supplies and wage to live a marginalised but sustainable life.

Aoife grew up street-smart because of this, and her abilities as a technopath only gave her an advantage against those who were only human.

Eventually, she gains favor from a businessman who she usually eats with in a local diner. This businessman adopts her. This essentially dragged her up the social class-- enough to have her go to school at the late age of 18.

Class: Warrior-Machinist, for a lack of a better term, just call her a Techno Fighter.

Class Skills:

1.) Technopathy: The ability to command gadgets to her bidding. She isn't focused on creating giant robots nor an army of small things. It's mostly to bolster her fighting potential. Imagine imbuing a sword with electricity, but that sword is actually just a bunch of scrap metal with a battery attached to the blade. That's how Aoife uses her technopathy. She makes up for her lack of understanding in complex machinery by being able to construct simple objects such as radios and motors almost instantaneously. It would take her an hour of intense work to assemble a car from scrap.

Her trusty weapon is of her own creation: Ringo the ringblade. It's a small electromagnet core that has four blades. This is what she uses to fight real threats. Otherwise, a baseball bat will do nicely.

2.) Electric Surge: Aoife has a circuit that runs along her body. Actual wires have twisted with her veins, giving her the power to electrocute objects (and people) on contact. This ability can be used to provide power to technology. Now she can power up that car she built by attaching the battery wires to her hands.

However, the circuit makes her discharge when submerged in water. Prolonged exposure will eventually drain her of energy and kill her.

3.) Magnetism: This works in conjunction with her Electric Surge. Combining the two will give her electromagnetic powers.

She is able to direct this magnetism, picking which object to focus the attraction on. However, by nature of magnetism, the object is also able attract other smaller metallic things.

4.) Fighting prowess: Aoife grew up in the streets, and she had to fight for her daily wages.. No child should go through this but she did, and she survived.

Tablet Power: Overdrive: All of her skills above are amplified.

1.) With this Power, she can create more complex weapons such as High-Frequency Blades, and railguns. Still, it would take immense concentration to build these machines

2.) Her electricity is now akin to a lightning strike, able to overload most technology.

3.) She can reel in bigger metallic objects. Now she can lift the car and throw it at you. Poor car.

My basic mechanics is 1-miss 2-minimal 3~5-hit 6-critical, but that's just me.

Also, I learned that "tried to" and "attempted" are magical words when it comes to fighting~~
