well personally I think you're doing really well considering this is your first time hosting an RP,
And as for uncluttering the first post all I can recommend is using even more hiders but not sure if that might make it worse

I am a Dwarf and I'm digging a hole.
Okay so really I'm just Will the human who hates the idea of the manual labour associated with the digging of holes but it's a lot quicker to just say the first thing.
I'm here for ADVENTURE!!!! I like usually fantasy role plays but not exclusively and I have decided (as it's my third time re-joining the site) that I am not going to host any RPs until I have a few completed RP's under my belt.

Well you are both welcome to join, just go to the OOC and post your characters :) there's been some more refinement since I first posted this so make sure to read the first post thoroughly on the OOC :)
You probably should have reserved the second post in the thread for plot details and lists and stuff :L
"Yeah that's right" Shade said, passing the map back to her "I wouldn't worry about getting it all right straight away. This place can be really confusing with so many different types of creatures and people around and the changing room and buildings, this is my third year here and I still have no idea what I'm doing. Besides classes won't start at all until tomorrow, and even then we have like a week of introductory stuff"
As Shade was speaking a small ball of energy came careening towards him, he quickly faded and the ball went right through him.
"Sorry!" Two men near the pond shouted, it looked like that had been playing energy ball and had hit the thing way too hard.
Shade turned to see that the ball had carried on and smacked right into the face of the Golem that he had spooked earlier in the day.
"Oh this is going to be fun" He chuckled under his breath "excuse me a minute wont you?" He said to Innocentia before he changing into a four legged version of himself and sprinted rapidly away around the corner of the dorm building, being rapidly pursued by the giant mass of earth and clay.

I might be nit picking but how cone Cyrus see us when we;re outside on the ground floor and he's on the seventh floor ? lol
Incidentally Shade and Innocentia are outside the dorm not in my room, if you look at my post I threw my head out of the window to see who it was

"oh sure no problem. Erm...oh" He said, realizing that he couldn't indicate things on the map with only his head.
"hang on a sec"
Shade whistled like he was calling a dog and a few seconds later his body hit the ground rather heavily. "That was surprisingly painful"
His body turned into a sort of mush and quickly reformed itself so that he could stand up and show Innocentia how the map worked.
"This center part is the main school building where all of the classes take place" He explained, indicating the largest building on the map "Some of the rooms and coridoors move themselves around and you'll occasionally find that one of your spell classes results in changing the way you have to get home again but the map should change itself to reflect the difference. Look there goes one now!" As he finished speaking one of the corridors marked 'Adv. Potions' faded away and was replaced with 'Mens W.C.'
"It can be a little confusing but the map has colors that show you were all your classes are. If you look at your papers there should be a color codded list of your classes, shouldn't be to hard to get around after a while"

Shade was distracted from attaching another duvet based roof to his fort by the sound of a familiar voice coming from outside his open window.
He stuck his head out of the window and let droop suddenly to the ground floor, landing with a dull thud.
"ow" Shade cried as his forehead collided with the soil "i may have miss judged that a little"
He pulled his head up a little util he came eye to eye with Innocentia, after he figured out that he was upside down he righted himself and shook his head to clear the haze.
"Oh it's you again" He said, "Can i help?"
He stuck his head out of the window and let droop suddenly to the ground floor, landing with a dull thud.

By the time you guys get back I might be asleep :( That's part of the problem with having such different time zones
I'll try my best to catch up when I wake up tomorrow, although I should still be around maybe for the next couple of hours if I'm lucky

Shade finally managed to get to his room on the top floor, despite a few amusing interruptions on the way.
Being a third year student had it's perks and Shade had managed to swing himself one of the singular rooms on the seventh floor of the boys dorms. If he was honest with himself it was mostly because his last two roommates had refused to stay with him for longer than a single term anyway as they couldn't deal with having a roommate who literally never slept.
Shade pulled a huge duffel bag out of his stomach and swung it onto his bed, the contents spilled everywhere. Contained within where all of the books he had managed to collect in his lifetime, a great many of which would be useful for some of the advanced classes he was taking. He pulled his paper out again and found the sheet with his time table on it. He also managed to dig a thumb tack out of himself and pinned it to the corkboard above the head of his bed.
He surveyed the room with great pride, although there was little decoration to it. The floor was a standard green carpet the walls were a faded off-white color and the small en-suite bathroom was a ghastly shade of puke green, but he was confident with a few alterations he could make the place his own.
and with that he promptly started turning his nigh useless bed into a fort.
