Bio

I am an old roleplayer from the days of Dial-up where everyone went home to roleplay anime adventures after watching their afternoon toonami run, and probably older than that. I started around the late 90s distinctively because I recall playing Final Doom and Metal Gear Solid while trolling Compuserve chat rooms and roleplaying so maybe a year before 99 or 98 generously? Speaking of Compuserve.

After the amount of FUN I had in AOL I switched ISPs because AOL sucked in terms of service. I got to taste blood in PVP beyond the scope of what I already obtained in AOL.. my own blood. I saw the contrast between different fighting styles and fell in love with such an idea of an infinite universe of roleplay fighting, but not before my bewildering OTK. AOL had its great fighting talent, but Compuserve's original Zones pvp was a different beast entirely. There was no rhyme or reason. There was only fighting and permanent (almost) killing. People spent days researching frivolous AskJeeve science articles, obscure words, not-established supernatural theories, actual unproven theories, and overall cheapness to kill other players. I changed. I went from barely spelling to spelling decently. I vested time in the ability to put my wit against the locals on a daily basis and the excitement of dueling, raids, or simple death matches.

Then I forgot there was an entire universe, and fell in love all over again. I lost internet but gained determination. I'd discover free-form roleplaying on RPGchat back in 2003 and changed once again. I was introduced to a more laid back but sensible scale of power-efficiency. These people were more concerned about player positioning and simplicity than abstract and absurd metaphysics, and though Compuserve's meta had remain true to function it didn't offer the tone to level down a bit to something comprehensible. Scale the pointless and streamline your idea. The universe was a big place for me and I think that excited me more. My ambition for battle and war matched now a bigger scale and I would fight randoms all over to just prepare for it. RPGchat was good for one specific thing and that's style in writing. Forum based roleplaying focused specifically on how well you actually wrote circa 2004 and up, and my propensity for verbosity had to adjust. Transitioning is a term I'd use but you'd think I was talking about an operation.

2005 got my net back and suddenly my 3 to 4 paragraph barely able to post a day became a tremendous 7 paragraph and up epic for a specific fight because I. Love. This. So. Much. Ask Reno. My fight bout back into the game was by-far the most intense nights of my career because I was active, fierce, and finally took in everything I've learned. My character then is my main now. Jhieten represents that drive and dedication I put in from hours of even attempting to get one hour of net in a forum that demanded a decent level of quality in modern-fantasy clan feuding. An addiction is one that requires a fix from a fiend. You can't fix passion. I OTK'd Murrocko something nasty he never recovered from. I wonder till this day if he still thinks about that. Reno's proposal to go around wrecking shit titillated me more than the act itself. I think that's what makes me fight PVP. The idea of just fighting and killing itself is much more exciting and keeps me focused; however, let's ignore the paranoia some of my Ls awarded me. No one talks about their defeats. Shhhh.

2005 is my best year. Fighting here. Killing there. Being apart of a big clan and being its main big bad enforcer guy. I messed it up introducing Delve to Reno and had to kill the operation. I lament that still. Poor Reno. He was in the way of our cross-fire. Fellow zoner rivalry has its casualties I'm afraid, but it isn't like I didn't suffer. I became a moderator on Animeleague. That's pain. I became a new moderator for a new clan nation section thanks to Rita and... yeah, Delve; unfortunately, that was short lived because of a combination of both roleplay shenanigans and personal issues that were concurrent and intertwined. I broke my own separation of business and personal. We all learn the hard way. Back to RPGchat.

2006 is a year I don't like talking about. Let's talk about 2007. I did absolutely nothing of value on RPGchat because I got a little too caught up in making trouble ooc, arguments, and playing DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. Sorry Ru; however, this is the year that changed everything. TheZones Duel League. A tournament I made to just run a tournament on a forum no one cares about but me. I modeled the damn thing out of my love of Compuserve's zones which precipitated my penchant for unwarranted violence and murder. Compuserve no longer had its actual players in it so it's time to reinvent the wheel -- make it better. What a year to learn that players will cheat to win and cause drama. Taste of my own medicine (except the cheating part). TZDL2007 didn't change how I viewed the game anymore than just restructuring the definitions of rules and being more concrete; by the way, changes that are huge are usually subtle and slow. I say that unironically.

2009 though. I got Paradox, Ru came around, Argryia... what a player. Basically I got some veterans I knew from AOL and one from MSN (Mystic). Decoy got training to get into Vertex (we were going to crash RPGchat) and ran another fun tournament. This was a bit different though. I got to see Ares get completely crushed by Ru. Holy hell I didn't know she can play that way. Oh snap Argryia is actually pre -- THE $%#@ IS STRING META?! WHAT?! So that can be done.. I always wondered that. Huh.. guess Mystic couldn't handle that. Poor guy. Paradox why did you even use an EMP bomb that early? Now I have to call Meta-game. Everyone seemed to LOVE the definition list though. I learned that I've acquired a new talent and love for the game that transcended even violence itself. I discovered there's order in what people believed is chaos, and they didn't know because these phenomenons didn't have definitions. They were never invoked by name but by action. Man this universe gets bigger the smaller an object actually is. Then TZDL2011 hit and blew everything away. There's a demand.

At first people just like the definition list and some sites asked to borrow it. Ok cool, but now they are asking me to write more. They want to know these terminologies. There's a name for occurrences. I overhauled my baby, made live-streams, podcast interviews, and general fun asshattery in our ooc or phone conferences. I got to meet the wonderful people of ZEJ (once was called CoU) and that's how I got acquainted with Keileon (known as Jason at the time). Draven finally joined. Argryia and Ru is there and the first clan rivalry between the AoA and.. Vertex? Well can't really have a clan rivalry in a tournament that has people representing themselves but Lokanas sure believed he'd beat Argryia. I warned him not to underestimate her cause she's a girl. I know he thinks I fucked him over but that OTK is now legacy to a player who became the literal embodiment of top tier play at the time. She'll thank him moreso than insult the guy, but I'm sure his scorn is much more lethal. TZDL2011 was the height of some of the ooc memes and fun but I learned a lot about being a judge and running an event, a community, and myself. I've learned to calm down. I want my players, assets, to have fun. They like the balance, meta, and information. I will give them even more next time. They'd have to just wait 8 months for a semi-finals round... oops. $#@! Skypark.

TZDL2012 is when I learned the meta from a much more bigger picture and every year since my understanding grew. I became content in watching my players compete and perform to expected levels though Argryia just kept growing. Really. I got to see Paradox and Seth Mayvus come around, Draven compete, Keileon compete, Goliath debuts, Ru come back, and Argryia showing everyone she is a legitimately good player. I was not defanged -- quite the opposite. I realized my fangs needed sharpening, but it isn't your bite that's lethal. It's the force. What I saw there changed everything and it all came together again.. until certain shit happened but we'll just not bring it up. Sorry Seth and Paradox because your match suffered because of it.

From there on my love for exploration overcame the game itself.. by exploring the game itself.
vertex.wikia.com/wiki/Home_Page

Instead I invested my time understanding concepts, tactics, theories, and even functions of the game I thought I knew and I kind of actually did. That's not the thing that surprised me. What surprised me is that EVERYONE already knows.. they just don't know they are invoking these concepts, at least not by name or a uniformed jargon.. maybe lexicon? I'm not in the mood to synonym this. From here on I am much more interested in seeing new applications of the meta or how it's used rather than beating someone up.. but that's because I want to see order and structure to some degree. Prometheus Project. Not related to NASA. Dabo Ignem. I'll be punished accordingly, but first the mission. I dedicate a lot of my brain power into roleplaying and not just going in a thread and pretending to be a weeb because that doesn't interest me.. not in the conventional way. It's full-circle here. The competitive streak of the original zones and the free-form liberty of 2005 where RPGchat's c/g and Animeleague's.. CN? I don't know. Whatever. Anyway the free-form thing. Yeah. That. Bring back a time of roleplay where pvp was fun as much as it was deviously competitive, but this time with some uniformity and some structure. Definitely NO POLITICS.. unless IC where most people's attention SHOULD BE AT!

Ruling
  • Tasuke has failed to notify anyone where they went and has been gone for 18 days

Verdict Tasuke has been officially disqualified from he/she/its quarterfinal match with Dias Blade. Tasuke and Dias have not updated their availability but Tasuke has disappeared for a long period of time. Since the player has been under numerous discrepancies and infractions throughout their tenure in TZDL it's just safer to remove them. Dias Blade I am going to issue you an infraction for not posting your availability. You will not be able to attack for ONE post in your next fight with Xavier. Waived for failure on my part for requesting availability.
Ruling
  • Tasuke did not specify in their introduction the starting position of her character.

Verdict Tasuke did not specify their starting position on the map as Player2. For this infraction the penalty is a reveal of Hisame's position from the previous turn until the 2nd turn from this post. That means no matter where she is currently located Dias Blade's character will know where she is for 2 turns. Tasuke's post after this verdict will remove the auto-reveal penalty and the fight resumes normally. The position of Tasuke's character is now 20 feet away from the Player2 point heading East. Dias you are issued an Edit On Demand to accommodate for this information if necessary.
Ruling
  • The activation of Time Alter, Subversion Field, and Ember Aura is legitimate from the initial post when Clarence touched his staves and began to manipulate them
  • The damage stated by the Magma Blossom Bombs is legitimate in the attack; however, there is a caveat to this later.
  • The Chronotons in Clarence's profile sheet do not specifically state any homing effects nor additional behaviors outside of time flow and anti-defensive measures.
  • The explosive detonation of the Magma Blossom Bombs are also not stated in the profile sheet especially with removal of the chronotons. This is assuming the Chronotons ARE attracted to plasma. We determined they aren't.
  • Clarence unleashed "several-hundred" Magma Blossom Bombs. We can deduce by the definition of "several" that roughly 300 were created and unleashed.
  • The Blossom bombs Clarence initiated had 2 targets as stated by his attack: The first Mimring's trajectory during the flanking maneuver in Mimring's "Photon Dragon" transformation. The other target was undisclosed or "all directions" which technically means there is no "target."
  • The speed of the Magma Blossom Plasma was not described.
  • Junction typed specific wording on how he aimed the target of his omnidirectional attack: "But as long as Time Alter remained in effect he could keep a rough track of Mimring’s path and so tried to lead his barrage along his right flank."
  • The above means that Clarence led1 his shot on an interception course to Mimring's path. This would incur a dangerous threat to Mimring.
  • Since we can determine the targets of Clarence's Magma Blossom Bombs then we can determine that a unspecified majority of his omnidirectional attack is aimed at Mimring. This implies that a tighter spread of such an attack is possible the more numerous projectiles appear.
  • Mimring's course as a large 50 foot dragon will be in a collision course with Clarance attack.
  • Keileon made the following excerpt in her evasion to Junction's attack: Weaving in and out of fast-moving attacks is second nature to Mimring in his Photon Dragon state- moving erratically as lightning does, his incredible speed and ability to register things happening almost instantly makes dodging relatively easy
  • The following above denotes special abilities in Photon Dragon mode not otherwise stated in the profile sheet. Photon Dragon does not have its own special Fast Reaction Time passive or active to support such a clause despite Mimring only having baseline FRT abilities. Thus, we cannot accurately justify Keileon's exposition.
  • Chronotons, because of the Magma Blossom Bombs, stick to the target which the latter burns. The chronotons degrade "wide area effects" and barriers for 2 turns. The 2nd turn describes a shutting down or complete degradation of the Wide Area Effect or Barrier.
  • Mimring's Photon Dragon is a transformation and a requisite to active Burning Sky Conflux.
  • Burning Sky Conflux is an ability that turns Mimring into an attack or specifically a Wide-Area of Effect or Area of Effect ability since this ability removes Mimring from the field as an NPC due to the lack of presence it will consciously have. Meaning: Mimring is not an NPC with this ability.

VerdictIt is not possible for Mimring to weave through the Magma Blossom Bomb volley. The numerous amounts of projectiles being released in its spontaneous matter will be too close to adequately maneuver through, because Mimring does not have any supporting FRT abilities in Photon Dragon that Keileon attempted to activate; however, the Bombs themselves will not make contact with Mimring par the reasons Junction explained. The chronotons have a haptic feedback ability, but we do not currently know what that implies or means.

The chronotons are only referenced in Retaliation's build for his FRT/Speed increases of Time Alter, his staves, and his Magma Blossom Bombs. They have no other ability but to disable defenses and increase/decrease speeds and such their behavior to be attracted to plasma is not supported. Junction's character, during the use of Time Alter Black Flash led his omnidirectional projectile attack mainly at Mimring's trajectory to intercept. Mimring's speed+minus supporting FRT for Photon Dragon+Magma Blossom Bombs means that some of the plasma balls make contact. This initiates their Chronoton effect of disabling any perceived "defense" if any. This is critical later.

The damage Mimring will suffer is up to debate in the judge channel because of how numerous and small these plasma balls are. Cold Plasma, in the case of Magma Blossom, is not literal cold like the Arctic Flame described to be an actual temperature negative. It is then theorized the plasma, being an electromagnetic object, will interfere with Mimring's own electromagnetic field as Photon Dragon is almost electricity. This is also true of Mimring's own mass which is "almost" pure electricity at this point. The damage Mimring suffers from the balls effects him on a physical level should he revert. Plasma making contact with electricity, presumably out of phase, can cause the electricity to short like miniature EMP pulses. The explosions are not of design but an outcome of two electromagnetic phenomenon in the terms of energy make contact. Mimring, stated by the profile sheet, still takes damage from energy based attacks. Since the attack is still omnidirectional then it is hard to determine if a majority of 300+ plasma balls hit, but we can safely assume a fraction of a majority hit since Mimring did attempt to evade it and not all are targeting the dragon. The electricity from the plasma balls causes shorts that explode and voltage increases before parts of Mimring are missing. This is important damage for Keileon to consider, but a more ominous possibility is in the next paragraph.

The chronotons are capable of sticking to an object specifically Areas of Effects and "Barriers". Mimring transformed into Buring Sky Conflux during the middle to end of the 3rd turn and phased out in the beginning of the 4th turn; however, that would mean time elapsed from the contact of the chronotons after Retailation's first attack. This implies that after the evasion move (3rd turn) the chronoton effect activates but does not target until Sky Burning Conflux is activated in the same turn. The next turn is when maximum degeneration occurs. Since Sky Burning Conflux constitutes as an ability that is an Area of Effect it is no longer Mimring the NPC and thus is effected by the Chronotons' deadly effects of the 2nd turn lapse (the 4th turn). This means the chronotons degenerated pieces of Mimring's electrical form in Sky Burning Conflux on top of being shorted by plasma balls exploding on his electromagnetic stabilization. To simplify the hazard: The plasma balls short and explode Mimring or at least the ones that were able to touch him, but the chronotons stick to him and since he turned into an AOE (which is what the chronotons target upon activation) it means the already reduced electricity of Mimring is not degenerated by the chronotons on the 2nd turn. To convert this dangerous and grim outcome into something tangible: if Mimring reverted back he'll look like swiss cheese with holes throughout his body. We cannot say for certain Mimring takes the full blunt of all spheres or even a majority, but enough permanently damages Mimring possibly critically. The other issue is that Mimring cannot "heal" in SBF since Chronotons don't replace what was misplaced: so unlike a barrier which is given energy upon resuming its properties, Mimring is a living creature.

The last possibility is how close a proximity these spheres are upon ignition. It is possible because of the tight spread with focus to Mimring's direction that the plasma ball's own detonation might create a chain reaction of having some of the local ones also explode. We cannot safely assume the release of Chronotons over a wide distance but can ensure these explosions can add upon the punishment Mimring will suffer throughout his form even if a few spheres connect.

Since the fight has proceeded with established actions between both parties: We are going to issue an Edit On Demand (EOD) on Keileon to adjust for the changes. The actions in between the attack and this ruling will still carry through for having occurred before our investigation (we don't want a constant EOD backtrack of retros). So Junction must still deal with the emerald lightning attack and Mimring's maneuver, but Keileon must now acknowledge Mimring's battered and extremely wounded form from here on. Keileon please highlight the changes to your latest post by highlighting the portions that were changed in a color (Dias put blue for his text you can pick any color). Junction, you may post once Keileon is finished with her EOD. This fight continues.

You guys may notify us or speak to us in the disputes room if you have questions.
Ruling
  • Mitsu's physical charge is at a constant 1.21 GigaWatts of power. An attempt to scale down the amps increases the voltage and the amount of wattage determines his electrical generation is incredibly powerful.
  • The electrical "charge" of Mitsu correlates to his generation both internally and externally.
  • We have determined it is likely the Thunder Dome (his Auto Defense) is at the same Charge as his generation (more or less)
  • The arch-flashes caused by his electricity making contact with the blood ice can default beyond 5000c up to 19,400c.
  • We can hazard a guess beyond the melting point of ice that it will sublimate.
  • The blood, from our analysis, has no intricate properties.
  • The icicle was primed during the time Lyra's character had her hand in her pouch. There's only a 2 second opportunity to launch the projectile and reach her target.
  • We will assume that the "spike" of blood eye, containing the egg, was primed and then rested on Lyra's head at least within fractions of a second in character time to properly allow it to reach optimal velocity.
  • The icicle will need to travel a minimum of 50fps to clear 100' in 2 seconds. That's 15.2 m/s. We can safely determine it must have at least traveled in greater of a rate considering the time between actions. The description of its velocity comes next.
  • We can determine that the icicle will not move at bullet speed described by Pollen since the attack is discernible by the human eye and shows a visible red streak; hence, it must be traveling 300fps or lower.
  • Due to the icicle's velocity it will only have less than a second (0.6 seconds or lower) to traverse through 30' since it'd penetrate Mitsu's Thunder Dome.
  • The Thunderdome attacks any foreign objects from the surface of the barrier's limit to all directions inside.
  • The kinetic impact from 1.21gw of electricity causing arch flashes could disrupt the attacks' trajectory and influence its overall vector
  • We can assume the icicle's volume (dimensions) is enough to encapsulate the egg-bomb, but we cannot determine its overall dimension. This is important in calculating whether Lyra will have enough mass of the object to adequately repair her attack vs Mitsu's high electrical output.
  • The ice surrounding the egg was targeted for damage.
  • Pollen did no retroaction her egg since it was referenced prior to her initial attack and thus it was inferred to be used when the icicle rested on her hand.
  • The nature of Pollen's shroud allows it to disrupt and impede the electrical discharge of Mitsu especially because its strength is proportionate to the speed of objects interacting with it.

Verdict Pollen's spike attack proceeds though reaching total destruction, but the egg remains untouched. The nature of Pollen's icicle attack constitutes as a piercer attack since the material surrounding the egg was targeted for damage by Mitsu's autodefense. This allows her attack to pass through the electrical field of Mitsu, but her ability to reinforce the ice is in question; nonetheless, her overall strategy is successful. The fight resumes with Decoy posting from here on. Feel free to reply when ready. Sorry for the delay.

Anubis' Tomb

Egyptian pyramids are archaeologist’s prized discoveries, an open gateway into an arcane world where pharaohs die with their treasures. Emperors ceaselessly tire their existences for immortality on the back of countless slaves, erecting monolithic tombs excavating profound burial chambers were Inpu escorts fallen kings through a valley of deceased men. Scholars across the world marvel at its structural design. The monumental edifice bound 2 wandering spirits inside, locked inside eroding desert stone stacked like stairs to an ascension to where ancient Gods welcomed dead rulers. A towering square pyramid (square base, for those not familiar with pyramid designs) jetting from sand with a fading bronze tint on resilient limestone, crackling with age beneath a golden radiance of Ra eclipsing a blue-sky. Each rock mounted on one another in a symmetrical square where weight distributed from the zenith decreases, but the Pyramidion decayed to an octagonal formation being chipped to a mangle malformation it dutifully represented.

The pyramid’s battered surface belies a deeper significance having a colossally greater volume than Khufu stone flag resting in Giza’s plateau. Its location obscured by electronic interference that subvert satellite surveillance, and depicts normal mountain ranges where this behemoth of ancient ingenuity slept. This anomaly went undetected by several nations as electromagnetic disturbances were accounted for by sandstorms and terrestrial heat, but few explorers unearthed truths far exceeding humanity’s expectations.. and seldom shared them. The pyramid is wedged in a very deep chasm where a single side is against bedrock for thousands of years, keeping itself camouflaged from marauders and gravediggers alike as a disguised mountain slope. Many that are aware understood the unwitting coincidence of nature, but a minority of the cabal believed it was engineered this way.

Now the interior of this mammoth construct is where a cacophony between two kindred spirits would convene. When one enters from a lavish entrance crusted in gold they would meet a walking path with sandstones carefully fixed on either side of said trail, 3 inch stones placed and 8 feet spaced apart. The floor adjacent contained beautiful stone carvings of mysterious Sumerian cuneiform, Egyptian hieroglyphics, and even Cretan inscriptions throughout the floor. The sanctum, with all its diverse pictographs chiseled on the floor, is not without a robust amount of dimension. The room appeared 200' wide by 400' long, its ceiling height far beyond human reach at staggering 500' where square columns can be seen further down. When one continues to traverse this walkway they would notice a slant floor 97' from their entry. It appears at a certain distance, the floor elevation for the entire chamber shifts 6 feet above normal with a 45 degree slope. One could assume as they continue to walk, they will meet another hill-esque floor raise until the last 97' feet is met where an intimidating 25' statue of Osiris standong on top a conquered 30' Inpu.

The ebony canine deity lying beneath a sole sandal of gold resting its position with scepter n hand skewed onto the fallen’s back. He lay motionless on his belly like a serpent, arms spaced as one would expect from a vanquished foe. Osiris was made of silver that seem to age to a proper teal, his helm bronze and define chest bare with scars engraved unto his muscular visage. The silver underworld king knelt before any person that approached, handing out a throne made of the exotic yellow metal. A skeleton seated comfortably in garbs too old to date and jewelry far too expensive to yield. Whomever burial chamber belong to may have left the hint: he falls to the underworld -- killing death.

Throughout the exquisite tapestry of ancient ceramics lining the merigold walls were pillars of vintage Egyptian hieroglyphics etched in navy blue. These posts towered far above human height as they merged with the ceiling, although it appears one scaffolding remained somehow untouched but apparently much more modern than these chambers allowed. These daises were accessible by degenerated pieces of lumber scattered adjacent each pillar, and the area of each column is 20x20' thick of unadulterated stone. Traces of marble faintly gleamed behind stained sand that has accumulated for millenniums, dousing the floor in grain older than most civilizations through small ventilations near the ceiling, but most were congested by debris from broken stone, other statues on upper levels, or harden sand.

Light was provided by several unfathomable sources found throughout and one particular instance was the very ground itself. It produced a significant amount of an apricot luminescence without compromising one’s ability to see, but how this was accomplished remained unseen. Torches grafted on walls and revealing a brown luster from a shimmering red core it radiated, leaving most of the ambiance in a vague blonde luster where light couldn’t reach the upper echelon of the chamber. Then onto Osiris with his snarling complexion brought about a supernatural glow of red from every eye of his scowl, the entire area surrounding him concealed in a faint aura of cherry and honey luminosity that one could identify his defined and timeless features from the doorway. Despite how well lit this exaggerating room was, darkness lurked about the far end pillars, corners, and the entirety of the ceiling was poorly lit. Skeletal remains of what appears to be a deceased dinosaur, wyvern, or a dragon hardly venting its and buffed in a dandelion saturation from years of ambient sand. One of the eastern pillars laid across the 2nd and 3rd floor elevation not far from the slope divide. 2 large portions seemingly fell in a peculiar angel with debris scattered about and neglected. The very columns fissuring the floor beneath in hairlines as its structure only chipped from its descent.

Each fighter appeared on either side of a pharaoh’s mausoleum roughly 110' apart, and they will duel with the intent of burying another king here in the sands of time. They will die here in obscurity. ~Mobius TZDL2017 Quarterfinals

Notify me of any numerical mistakes, geometry mistakes, or spelling mistakes immediately.

Oh some trivia: The 3 inch blocks make a boarder path that leads to the throne where Inpu and Osiris are. The walkway is smooth and contains no hieroglyphics.

Also: The ceiling does not slope up or down like the floor does as it elevates, so the ceiling maintains the same height (just means the floor is slightly closer to the ceiling. Not by much though)

And: Inpu is 30 feet long laying on the ground, about 3 to 5 feet thick depending on body proportions (shoulder to shoulder is 8 or more give or take.). Same goes for Osiris minus the helm which is longer.
