Cecil was running along with them fairly easily, but his face was saying a lot about his current condition. He looked pretty blank in his expression, as if everything had been sucked out of him as he ran. He had managed to save his friends and help them get away from the summoner, but the cost felt too great personally. He managed to help them all, but as he ran he thought the possibility of having to do that to a living person. How might they feel about it if they had to witness him tearing through living creatures using that kind of power, like he was built to do? Running as fast as he could with them he stared down at the ground in quiet contemplation, trying to use this need to escape as a means to find the energy to keep going. He did use a fair bit of energy against that creature, but it was the after effects that had him feeling the most drained.
As they all came to a halt Cecil slowed down as well, not showing the same signs of fatigue the others were displaying. Staring down at the ground in quiet contemplation he soon slowly sat down, his hand reaching back at first before finding the ground. The thought that the creatures could’ve easily had been people made him feel terribly confused, knowing he was built to do all that and more for war purposes. He was created for the very purpose of the destructive elimination of others and knowing he had that in him did manage to scare him. He was just a machine built to kill, managing to do just that to those creatures.
Not really noticing Ethan talking to him at first he did slowly look up and stare at him blankly, appearing to have a rather vacant look about him before finally blinking as his eyes lit up once more. “Feeling…okay?” he spoke before looking down again, staring at the ground between his legs. He went silent after that, feeling as if he wasn’t able to answer such a question accurately. He wasn’t able to tell what his energy readings were after that, he was sure they weren’t looking terribly good at least. As his eyes wandered over to Amuné who insisted on asking the same question he frowned at the thought that they were actually worried about him, the very thought confusing him once more.
“Is it because I break down if I am low on energy? Is that why you are both asking me that?” he asked up, rubbing his hands together slowly, “I don’t mean to be a problem like that. I just-…I am meant to use a lot of energy, it seems. I am built to kill…” Frowning, Cecil moved his arm around and stared at his gauntlet. “What if they were people and I did that? Were they people originally…? If I did that to the one creating those things, would I be any different…? I’m a killing Machina and I-…” Pausing briefly his eyes flashed lightly again before he slowly lay back, sighing as he was suddenly feeling very drained. He would recover when the sun finally came up, but right now he was not really able to function mostly because of his current mental state, even if that was probably just code and his own AI. “I feel so confused…”
