Name: Syberus 'Sybe' Patterpaw
Age: 165, Appears to be in his teens
Race: Weretiger
Personality: Sybe has a personality that most would consider out of place for someone in his shoes. He does not do things half halfheartedly, he either cares for someone with all his heart or not at all. Regardless if you are wrong or right, if he likes you, he will gladly defend you with his entire being, even if it means dying or getting seriously injured. He is a bit rash in judgement on people, and once he has his opinion on someone, it can be very hard to change it. With that being said though, if he trusts someone, he trusts them entirely, with everything. Even if he ends up being betrayed in the end, he will still be loyal to the one that stabbed him in the back. Getting past all of that though, once he decides he likes someone even in the slightest, he is easily the best friend someone could ask for. He is the drinking buddy that will carry you home when you cannot walk straight, the shoulder you can cry or lean on if you need to, or the large fuzzy tiger to defend you... or to maybe cuddle. Much unlike his human half, as a tiger, his personality changes a bit. When not in combat or defending someone, he turns fairly playful and affectionate. Affection is rarely ever shown from him otherwise.
Appearance: In his
Human shape, Sybe looks like your typical human teenager, aside from a few eye-catching things that stand out like a sore thumb. His eyes are a bit oddly colored, red iris' with bright green lining around the pupil, they even reflect light as a felines would. He has five different circular scars, one located on each wrist, each ankle, and one around his neck. The one around his neck though appears to be more than a mere circle though, in fact, it looks like someone or something attempted to take a bit out of him at one point or another. Countless age-old puncture wounds can be found all alonf the left side of his neck and shoulder. In contrast to his lightly tanned skin, the still white-pink scars all stand out greatly. But the only ones that are often seen are the ones located around his neck, depending on what shirt he is wearing. It is hard to see the other scars, as he usually has on long sleeves and boots.
As a
tiger, Sybe can take on two different 'Modes', as he likes to call them. The first one being the shape of an actual tiger, one that runs on four paws. This 'mode' is what he refers to as 'tank' mode. His weight is easily quadrupled from his original weight as a human, sometimes even more. It is hard t compare this form to a normal tiger, too, as he is just far bigger than one could ever possibly grow. He has a lot more muscle and an intensely thick set of fur and skin, he is somewhat bulky and a bit slow in truth. He can battle with vampires and demons alike in this form with relative ease.
His second mode is a humanoid-tiger mix, able to stand on two feet rather than four. This 'mode' is a great deal lighter than 'tank' weight wise, though still outweighs his human half by a a good amount. Unlike 'tank' mode, this mode is not restricted by being forced onto four paws. With the ability to stand upright and a much slimmer build, he is much faster in this form and is eve able to wield various weapons and the alike. He can also wear special armor, too. His skin in this mode is not nearly as thick as it is in the other, he can get hurt easier, but due to his smaller body, along with being faster on his feet, he is much more flexible and agile to make up for his lack of strength and durability.
Equipment: Carrying with him at all times, Sybe has a large black leather messengers bag that holds everything he owns aside from the cloths upon his back. Within the bag can be found a cheap change of cloths, two blank books, a sizable bag of dried meat, and in the small remaining space would be bandages and some anti-infection medical creme in a rather small container. The clothing that Sybe wears is all specially handmade and enchanted, but it is hard, if not impossible to tell unless he changes shape. Aside from being self-cleaning and repairing, instead of being ripped to shreds anytime he changes shape, the clothing itself seems to meld into his body. At least, while he is in 'tank' mode. When he transforms into his more humanoid-like tiger state, the clothing then molds itself into a light, somewhat magic resistant armor that fits perfectly to his feline figure.
Primary Magic: Due to his genetic defect from his half-demon mother, Sybe, who should have been unable to even use magic, was granted her ability of shadow manipulation. Though this is an ability that Sybe himself has no control over. He cannot do anything fancy with it aside from make the shadows wiggle a bit or maybe make an already dark room a bit darker. The only real time he ever shows any of this 'shadow manipulation' is when he is in his feline skin. His black tiger stripes, despite it being broad daylight or otherwise, give off a strange shadowy wisps and tendrils. It makes it look like his paws are as black as the darkest shadow possible and they only grow stronger with the more anger or fear he feels. Maybe if he tried to use it in a more serious way it might actually be useful, but otherwise, it has no damaging ability.
Secondary Magic: Sybe truthfully has no other magic abilities to speak of. Though one may find it very challenging to take control of his mind or manipulate it in anyway due to the duel nature of his tiger and human halves. If anything, such things can send him flying into a feral rage if not done correctly or quickly enough.
Bio: Sybe was born and abandoned shortly afterwards by his half-demon mother, who was killed a time after abandoning her son for a previous crime she had committed. Sybe was found shortly afterwards by those that had been sent after her, there was a great debate among the small group of renegade folk if they should kill the infant or not. But it was quickly decided by the vampire that was leading the operations that the infant would be spared, as he was an innocent life and had not yet done any great evil against humans or otherwise. With that, Sybe was brought into the care of a young human woman called 'Sobee'. Sobee took great care of the young Sybe, who after his first few years of life was already quite the handful. Unlike other were-creatures that sometimes began changing shape when they hit puberty, Sybe was already changing into a small tiger cub and causing all sorts of chaos for his human caretaker. But the young woman pulled through and with some help from a local guardsman, who also happen to be a human-friendly shapeshifter, managed to teach the young weretiger to control his shape-changing better.
That training proved vital in his teenage years when he actually hit puberty. He was easily refereed to as 'Rampaging Rumbler', having gotten into countless fights merely because he was just so angry all of the time, though thankfully he had not actually seriously injured anyone yet. Unsure of what to do for Sybe, his caretaker took a rather drastic turn in her care for the young tiger. Anytime he grew angry, she chained him in the basement continually until he calmed down. But this only fueled his anger and rage, which ended up in him remaining in his feline form almost constantly. It got to the point that he did not shift back into a human. He fought against the specially made chains day in and day out, resulting bloodied wrists, ankles, and neck.
Figuring she had done something terribly wrong at this point, Sobee called upon the vampire that had brought Sybe to her. The vampire in turn was mortified to see what she had done to the young tiger, who after several months of such treatment had seemed to have lost almost all sense of human reasoning. On a whim, instead of killing him outright as the law stated, the Pureblooded vampire boldly removed the chains Sybe had been bound with. Using his own power, the vampire calmed the still angered Sybe before he could attack either of them. Instead, Sobee and the vampire were left with a sobbing, fear-stricken teenager who could hardly speak because this throat had been so constricted by the chain that had wrapped around it.
He truly was not a dangerous creature, at least not to humans, the vampire knew. So instead of killing him or leaving him in the care of a human that was obviously unfit to do so, the vampire took Sybe with him. No better way than to keep someone calm with emotional manipulation than by keeping them close by, right? This brought on a a short recovery from his time being locked away before Sybe was brought under serious intense training. Though he was still young, the vampire figured that with so much anger, he might as well put the tigers power to good use. The training Sybe was brought under was rigorous, even by vampire standards. He was taught to channel his anger into a more protective instinct, which actually worked quite well, much to the vampires pleasure. This eventually lead to Sybe being freed of the vampires emotional manipulation, merely because he no longer needed it.
With the amount of training he went through and his skill in combat, he was quickly recruited to help assist with the hunting and killing of demons and the alike.
Other: Patterpaw is not his real last name and he would tell anyone if they asked, but if he gives you his actual last name is an entirely different story. And while yes, he is a weretiger, due to his mothers half-demonic blood, he cannot heal nearly as fast as others of his kin can. Though when the wounds do heal, the do not leave scars unless the wound is somehow made repeatedly.
