@Doctor: Yup, still looks good.

@Syblyx: Like ToskaO said, you're just a bit late. I'll let you know if/when we're reaccepting.

@All: I've updated the first post with a list of the important witch families that will have answered the Anderson's call (otherwise known as our families) just to provide a quick little reference guide in case someone needs it. IC is still set for tomorrow night, I think I should be able to get it done.
Alright, so I've decided this will take place in and around a made up university in Washington state. The university, The Anderson University, will be within walking distance of a fairly large town and about a half hour from Seattle. It is a large private college run by the Anderson family (hence the super creative name of the school). The Anderson family is an old Witch family who have given up participating in the Emergence. They only have a few active witches left, who will be the last of their line. The Andersons wish to unify the witch families in an attempt to create peace in the magical world. They believe giving up their magic makes them seem less threatening to the other families and as such will increase their chances of success.

Over the years they have reached out to several families (ours, as well as a few others) and have offered to school their members who are of age for free (hence why so many witches from so many different areas are in this one school).

Our story will start with the Andersons calling a meeting of the families interested in unity to a grand ball where the first peace treaties will be discussed. This is where the action will begin. With so many witches in one place, many who have ancient feuds with each other, betrayals are bound to happen. And to make it worse, the Order has caught wind of the meeting and think it would be a great time to gain intelligence and maybe take out some of the higher witches. Outcast hunters will see this in a similar light.
So that's basically what I've got when it comes to setting and the beginning of our story. As per usual, all questions, complaints, and suggestions are wholeheartedly welcomed!

Also, JJ, like I said over PM you're good to go! Accepted.

With JJ, I'm gonna close off characters for now. We've got quite a big group. Look for the IC by Wednesday!
Character Sheet (Witch):

Name: Graham Bishop

Family: Bishop

Innate Ability:
Intangibility. Graham can move through solid objects as if they weren't there. With practice he will be able to allow objects, such as bullets, to pass through him as well. This takes more concentration and skill. He is unable to move through things like electricity and fire though.

Age: 23

Appearance:
Graham is of average height for a man of his age, around six feet even. He has a slim build with lean muscle and not much fat. His skin is fair, though he isn't overmuch prone to burning. His arms are covered with tattoos, as well as a few on his back.
Graham's light brown hair is usually styled, though he sometimes goes with a messy style if he is having a bad morning. He has a light beard that he keeps well trimmed and properly managed.
He dresses reasonably, preferring to wear casual clothes while still looking moderately stylish. V-neck tshirts and fitted jeans are very common pieces of his wardrobe.

Personality:
Graham is ambitious to say the least. Ever since he learned of his family's ancient blood, it has been his mission to bring his family back to the forefront as they once were. He is charming by nature and manipulative by design. His family's attitudes have rubbed off on him and he can have quite a mean streak. He will be cordial to those he doesn't know, but that is the extent of his friendliness. He has very few friends and even fewer people he trusts. Sometimes he doesn't even have faith in his family. He is loyal only to himself and his kin, in the long run, and will do whatever it takes to make a name for himself and his family.
He isn't all bad though, Graham is intelligent and can come to respect others even if he happens to be trying to kill them. To those he does trust, he can be loving and protective, but those people are so few and far between it isn't seen much.

Bio:
Graham is the middle child of three, with an older brother and a younger sister. They are all members of the main branch of the Bishop family line, though it is really just a title. Being of fortunate birth means next to nothing in the Bishop family. They glorify individual power over archaic political structure.
Most of Graham's adolescent life was dedicated to the family trade. His parents pushed each of their children into studying magic as much as possible. They would pit the siblings against each other in an attempt to replicate the competition they would have to face once their powers were activated. An outside eye might find this horrifying. Forcing children to study books upon books for hours on end and then making them compete against their own siblings to gain their parents' admiration. But to Graham's parents, this was the only way their children would survive in the long run. They loved their children, in their own way.
Once Graham got older, he moved away from the family. He still visits often, and continues his studies, but he could no longer bear living with them. The competition between him and his older brother sparked into something real, and now the two can barely stand being in the same room. He still has a decent relationship with his sister though.

Others: Aware of his magic blood.
Witch Family Sheet:

Family Name: Bishop

Leader: Graham's grandfather, Gerard Bishop, is the patriarch of the Bishop family. He one of the few of his generation left in the family.

Economic Standing: Middle class, very average.

Magical Standing: The Bishops were once a powerful family, but have since fallen out of the spotlight. They still have powerful magic, but they are very secluded. Several betrayals in the past inspired a certain paranoia in the members of the family, who have since taught that distrust to their children. Infighting and rivalries inside the family itself have led to some tension and have prevented the family from focusing on outside matters.

Values: The Bishops value individual power above all else. The strongest witch in the family is the leader, despite how poor of a leader they may be. Being a powerful family isn't on most of their agendas. The importance of being stronger than those around you has casued some tension between kin and has led to some infighting.

Magical Style: The Bishop family's magic is as cruel as they are. They specialize in sacrificial magic, seeing the power in blood and death. Their lesser spells require blood, usually from cutting a palm, while their stronger magic requires death. The most powerful of these spells, which few can cast, asks for a willing human sacrifice. It was once considered a great honor amongst members to volunteer for these rituals. With the younger generations slowly gaining more power in the family, the practice is dying out. They don't think sacrificing their own kin is worth it in the long run.

Family History: The Bishop family line descends from a very old British family that moved to America in the early 1600's. They settled all over New England. Several branches formed as the family spread out. One famous witch from the Bishop main line was Bridget Bishop. She was the first person executed for witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials. She is largely looked upon by the family with disgrace.
Ok I'll have my stuff up by the end of this weekend and hopefully the IC up by Monday. I'm also gonna get a section for the families up with little overviews for each for easy reference.

@Teknopathetic: Love it, our first Order hunter. She sounds scary, all these witches better look out. Accepted.

@Adjectives: Looks good, though you made me change my character's ability because it was too similar >.> haha no big deal. Just needs a little blurb for personality and you'll be good. Accepted.

@dreamingflowers: Looks like you've finished up, and don't sweat the Vampire Diaries thing :) Accepted.
@Doctor Belasco: Looks good! Interesting innate ability, and I love the salesman thing he has going on. Nice to see a less combat oriented character. Accepted.

@dreamingflowers: Did you see tonights episode? Haha, I love Katherine. And I like your character as well. Be careful though, she is very similar to the show's Katherine so you might want to do a bit to seperate her a little more. Good though! Will be accepted once you finish it up.

@ToskaO: Looks good! My character and yours will probably get along, at least for a little while. Nice to see a little rebel haha. Accepted.

@upscalerat: Lovin' it. Are you planning on bringing her brother in as well? That'd be an interesting dynamic. Our first hunter! Accepted.

I've updated the first post with a character list. I'll have my own sheet up tomorrow most likely along with a little plot blurb to get you guys in the know about how we'll be starting.
@Viewtiful: Sorry to hear that man! We would have loved to have you. You're welcome anytime! Good luck!

@All: The sheets are looking good so far! I'll post later tonight with some individual notes and such.
You're right, you don't need the full thing. The magical style is important still though, so you could just slip that into your CS it should be fine.
@Doctor: Don't forget to fill out an family sheet as well.
We are currently full to capacity.

Countless eyes gazed up at the pale full moon and the dark expanse of sky that surrounded it. The white circle sat alone, hanging bright against a curtain of black. But that would not be the case for long. Tonight was the night. The night the world had been anticipating for the past 20 years had finally come. The stars were returning.
Children heard stories of the week long event from just about everyone who was old enough to remember it the last time it happened. Those who have yet to marvel at their fleeting beauty don't have the capacity to appreciate such an event, but they will soon. Soon, they would be back.

Family List:

Overview:
Welcome to Emergence! This is a witchcraft/magic RP set in modern times. In this world, the stars are always invisible except during a one week event that takes place every 20 years to the hour. Historically, the first day of the Emergence (October 15) is a holiday and many have off from work and school. It is a day of celebration for some, and reverence for others. Parties are very common in the evening hours leading up to the moment the stars flicker into existence at midnight. Special masses are held, in most religions, during the day as well. But the Emergence has another, more mysterious meaning for some. Many stories exist of people gaining special powers, gifted to them by the stars. The requirements for attaining these powers varies from story to story. Some say it is based on ancient bloodlines, others that it is based on merit, and some even say it is purely random. Whatever the case, the act required to gain access to the ancient magic is the same in all. You must kill.
These stories are, surprisingly, fairly accurate. The Emergence allows members of certain families with magic in their blood to realize their full potential. The act of taking a life during the week long event activates the dormant magic inside the killer. Because of the specific requirements, the amount of witches anointed during the Emergence is relatively small.
Characters in this RP will mostly be college students who are (whether they are aware of it or not) members of ancient witch families. With the Emergence they will take their first steps towards becoming fully-fledged witches. As well as a few witch hunters who will be preparing themselves against the once again rising number of magic users.
Our story will follow several college aged witches as they are thrust into a world of ancient politics, forbidden power, and dark secrets as well as the hunters that seek to destroy them.

If you have any questions or ideas, let me know! I'm all ears!
How magic will work:
Each magic using character (I guess we'll use witch and warlock, unless someone has something else. I don't like the sound of warlock much, but that might just be me.) will have one innate ability that is stronger or more efficient than their other magic. Think of this like a super power. It requires no materials, chants, or preparation. It is based purely on willpower and skill. This can be just about anything from teleportation to pyrokinesis to invisibility.
Other than these abilities, they will also have access to various spells and rituals. These require much more work and prep than the innate abilities do. This is like old school witchcraft with chanting and symbols and all that stuff. This type of magic changes based on family, as all families have different customs and rituals.
How hunters will work:
Witch hunters come in two types. Those who are part of the Order of Hunters and those who are not. The Order is a group as old as magic itself (and as secret as well), though they've changed over the years. The modern Order is a financially sound group dedicated to eradicating magic, which they believe is an affront to God, from the planet. They use heavy duty weaponry, as well as historic weapons, to take down witches. Blessed swords and silver arrows are just as common as assault rifles and pistols. All hunters are trained shooters as well as sword fighters.
The Outcasts, as they have collectively been called, are hunters who are not part of the Order. Either through exile or personal choice, these hunters continue their mission without being held down by the rules and strict structure of the Order. They aren't as organized as the Order and are much fewer in number, but they do not need to follow a code and have been know to cohort with other witches to take down their targets.
Rules:
Rules are fairly basic, same as always. No godmodding, be nice. You've all heard them before. As this is an advanced RP, good grammar (though everyone makes mistakes) and decent length posts are expected. Not every post needs to be a novel, as I realize it can be tough to squeeze out a sizable post sometimes, but they should at least be two decent paragraphs. No big deal, this is for fun so I want everyone to enjoy themselves.

@All: I'm gonna be a loser and push back the OOC date one more day, sorry haha.

@Adjectives: Don't worry about it, I'll be monitoring the families (as they are a central part of the story) very closely. I think submitting a small family sheet alongside a character one should allow for easy viewing of what other families are like. With the player limit and my looking out for overlaps and stuff it shouldn't be messy at all. I don't want to decide families and their traits beforehand as it limits the variety if they all come from me. I will offer some suggestions in the OOC for those who don't have an idea for a family of their own, but it should be fine for people to come up with their own if they so desire.

EDIT: Got it up earlier than I thought! Have at it!
