Bio

Hello! I'm MsMorningstar, or Momo for short. I'm a college student in my early twenties, located in the Western United States. I have a deep appreciation for memes and vines (RIP Vine), so if you're a wandering soul feel free to drop a couple in my visitor messages. I like loom knitting, and I used to be a big reader but haven't touched a book in a while since I've been writing. I love procedural cop dramas, my favorite being Criminal Minds, though I guess it's technically a procedural FBI agent drama. Everything else I'm into, I'll tack on in a different section. I'm a big fan of RPing, though I do tend to fade in and out. Luckily, I've made some friends here who've helped me sink my hooks into the forum. Speaking of which, I'd like to give them their own section.

If you're uninterested in me rambling about these amazing guild members, feel free to move on to the next section.
  • @NorthernKraken: I knew I had to start with this lovely, Texan woman. She's definitely one of the brightest people I know. There's a reason why people come to her daily seeking help and advice. She pushes me to do what I love, even when I don't want to. For this, I'm extremely grateful. Thank you, Goblin Queen.
  • @c3p-0h: The coolest cool kid around, by far. Not to mention, the nothingness that will eventually swallow up our universe. Cep, even though you're way too awesome for me you somehow make me feel amazing. Your compliments really lift me up, and I hope someday I can repay you for all your kindness. Also, you gave me my nickname, and I'm eternally grateful.
  • @Damo021: You've been my buddy since the beginning of Red Hoods. Even if our characters don't end up together, they're still my OTP. Thank you for always offering to help me, and chatting with me about everything and anything.
  • @Almalthia: You've been off living your life and being the responsible adult I wish I was, and I commend you for that. Doesn't mean I don't miss you like hell, though. You're the best mom older sister ever, and I eagerly await the moments when you're online.
  • @RedVII: My honorary brother. I feel like I could talk to you about anything, so I usually do. You understand me when others don't, and I'll never stop being weird alongside you. You're the strangest person, and that's what makes you wonderful.
  • @ZAVAZggg: You're the angstiest EdgeLord I know, but I appreciate everything about you. You keep me in check, in a way not many others are capable of. You're always scheming, and I'm pretty sure you have a ten-step plan for world domination. Despite this, you've proven to be an amazing GM, and a great friend.
  • @Senhara: Screm

I listed a few of these in my About Me Section, but I'll list them again.

I think they get them from FontMeme. It's the same site I use.
Hello everybody, the discord server for this RP is up!

Here's the Link!

Looks cool! It's very traditionally based on what's described in myths and texts, but such monsters don't need to be exactly as they are told. Again, creative liberties can be taken if you want. Like, for example, the ancient people may mistake the tail for being a snake, but rather it's say a scorpion tail or something cool. Or combine the traits into one animal but with only one head and body that invokes all three traits of the lion, goat, and serpent.

Again, this is my idea if I wanted to go about utilizing the Chimera, but if you feel like really wanting the pic you're showing, then go for it! Just throwing it out there, you don't need to follow what I said - it's only an idea for a more "naturalistic" approach. :)

Oh wow! Thank you so much! I do really like the picture and the concept of having multiple heads on my creature, but this "naturalistic" approach sounds very intriguing. I'll have to think long and hard about it. Again, thank you! You'll know my decision soon enough.
@Lmpkio

I found a reference image...not sure if it'll fly but I think it's absolutely epic. Also, I was thinking of making it a bit smaller just to cap it a lil'.

If that's all fine, I'll get to work on my sheet right away!
@Lmpkio

Hi! I'd love to join this, and was wondering if I could play as a chimera, just upscaled? It would also have different animal parts making it up than the usual lion/snake/what have you.

EDIT: If I can find the reference image I'm looking for. Otherwise, I'll just go for a more normal chimera.
@SleepingSilence

But you are trying to influence people's minds. Why else would you spend...I don't know, at least an hour reading and rewriting everybody's works? If you weren't trying to change people's minds and convince them that what they wrote wasn't correct (even if it's just in your opinion, as you say) then what was your aim?

I was checking up on the threads and found myself drawn to the discussion happening in this one. Hope you don't mind me butting in. Of course, no review is perfect. But I hope you continue to work on your critiques/write another in the future. UwU
So, this was definitely a piece of work. I enjoyed writing it though, even if the end did come out a bit rough. Would love to hear suggestions and other critiques. :D Should be 777 words, by the way.

Eliza entered the inn with a warm smile on her face, her posture relaxed despite her being frigid from the rain. From what she had been told, these women were in need of a bit of comfort and support. Being sent a mysterious letter about a family member’s safety, or lack thereof, was far from ideal. Eliza’s eyes briefly wandered over the scenery of the inn. Cozy. Nothing like her past haunts. Then again, that was probably a goo-

Before she could complete her train of thought, one of the women surged toward them. She seemed a bit frazzled, holding an air of urgency about her. Eliza stuck out a hand in greeting, cocking her head toward her companions so she could introduce them all. That was when she took note of Colin…

Her eyes darted between Colin and Kate, tension taking claim of the space between her shoulders. She dropped the hand she had offered to the girl who had to be Meg, ready to walk over to Colin and attempt to diffuse the situation. Before she could make a move, Kate had charged.

Eliza’s immediate reaction was to stand, shocked, as they rushed out the door and into the pouring rain. It took her a moment to register Meg’s words, and by then Nyssa was already out the door. Confusion drained out of her system in an instant when she realized the vampire had given chase, replaced by irritation and a tinge of horror. Was Nyssa going to hurt their clients? More importantly, was she going to hurt Colin? Eliza gave Meg a tired frown, before busting out the door behind her. She stood in the rain, watching the scene unfold.

Her jaw went slack as she watched the vampire slam Colin to the floor, and for a moment she was concerned that Nyssa had given into her ways. She pumped her feet, panic clouding her mind. She hesitated as she neared, close enough to hear Nyssa berating, but not attacking, Colin. Chest heaving, Eliza listened to the remainder of Nyssa’s heated speech with a heavy sigh. She supposed it was right of Nyssa to be against Kate’s action, but was a threat really necessary? And what was this about a lover’s quarrel? Goddess, Colin had some explaining to do.

After she helped him recover, of course.

Scrambling towards him, Eliza cast Nyssa her most stern motherly look, as if scolding her for pushing her brother. She reached out to take Colin’s hand and help him to his feet. She wished to wipe the mud off of his cloak, but she’d assist him in laundering it later. ”C’mon, gather yourself.” She then stood on the tips of her toes to hiss in his ear. ”Pray tell why this girl chased you? She’s our client, Colin, you can’t run away like a frightened animal.”

Throughout the journey, Eliza felt herself growing restless. She spent every moment doing something. Whether it be crafting little clay men and working on her more complex movements, making delicate charms during the less rocky periods of the journey, or even just twisting and un-twisting her hair. Her hands were always busy, but she resisted the urge to speak entirely. Every time she felt she had to speak, she'd force herself to sleep. She was sure she talked a lot while she rested, as her dreams were almost always about pleasant times with her mentor. Either way, she usually woke up renewed, before soon falling back into her state of unease.

When rations came around, she ate her part willingly. She wasn't one to deny any food, even though she'd be lying if she said watching Vitius chug his blood didn't make her stomach churn. Soon enough, she developed a system of delicately avoiding his gaze whenever it came time to eat. She'd glance at Colin from time-to-time to ensure he wasn't having another freakout, giving him a small, reassuring smile when their gazes met.

It seemed as though she was just moments away from a freakout of her own before they arrived outside the inn where they were supposed to be staying. She huffed, pulling her yellow hood up and over the hair-do she had finally settled on. Taking her bag -which contained her clothes and the charms she didn't have on her person- she patted herself down one last time to make sure she had everything. Stepping out of the carriage after Vitius and Sadon, she watched as they wandered down the path, hopefully heading towards the inn as they were supposed to.

Eliza began the task of stretching, planning on waiting for Colin so they could walk together. Suddenly, a distraction came. A woman jumped off the carriage, deft as could be. Eliza cocked her head, recognizing the girl as one of the fellow members of Finlay's group. The newly turned vampire. At least, that's what Brighid had identified her as. Her yellow hood made them equals, but she certainly seemed different than the rest. Her mannerisms spoke of confidence, and her amber gaze was enchanting. When the girl smirked, Eliza tried to spot the fangs hiding behind her lips. She caught herself staring, and forced a nod at the woman's words, despite that being the strangest response.

When the girl began walking away, Eliza turned to the carriage. She wanted to wait for Colin...but if she stuck with him all the time she'd never make new friends. Deciding against abandoning him entirely, she called out to him. "Colin, c'mon, we gotta meet Meg and Kate!"

Wrapping her cloak around herself, she jogged until her pace was matched with the female vampire's. She turned her face to look at the woman, smiling. "Hi there, I'm Eliza. Who're you?" She waited patiently for a response, before following up with another comment. "Strange we had to go on loan, huh? I guess they didn't know what to do with all of us."
Bump! Will update with plots soon.
