Bio

Hello! I'm MsMorningstar, or Momo for short. I'm a college student in my early twenties, located in the Western United States. I have a deep appreciation for memes and vines (RIP Vine), so if you're a wandering soul feel free to drop a couple in my visitor messages. I like loom knitting, and I used to be a big reader but haven't touched a book in a while since I've been writing. I love procedural cop dramas, my favorite being Criminal Minds, though I guess it's technically a procedural FBI agent drama. Everything else I'm into, I'll tack on in a different section. I'm a big fan of RPing, though I do tend to fade in and out. Luckily, I've made some friends here who've helped me sink my hooks into the forum. Speaking of which, I'd like to give them their own section.

If you're uninterested in me rambling about these amazing guild members, feel free to move on to the next section.
  • @NorthernKraken: I knew I had to start with this lovely, Texan woman. She's definitely one of the brightest people I know. There's a reason why people come to her daily seeking help and advice. She pushes me to do what I love, even when I don't want to. For this, I'm extremely grateful. Thank you, Goblin Queen.
  • @c3p-0h: The coolest cool kid around, by far. Not to mention, the nothingness that will eventually swallow up our universe. Cep, even though you're way too awesome for me you somehow make me feel amazing. Your compliments really lift me up, and I hope someday I can repay you for all your kindness. Also, you gave me my nickname, and I'm eternally grateful.
  • @Damo021: You've been my buddy since the beginning of Red Hoods. Even if our characters don't end up together, they're still my OTP. Thank you for always offering to help me, and chatting with me about everything and anything.
  • @Almalthia: You've been off living your life and being the responsible adult I wish I was, and I commend you for that. Doesn't mean I don't miss you like hell, though. You're the best mom older sister ever, and I eagerly await the moments when you're online.
  • @RedVII: My honorary brother. I feel like I could talk to you about anything, so I usually do. You understand me when others don't, and I'll never stop being weird alongside you. You're the strangest person, and that's what makes you wonderful.
  • @ZAVAZggg: You're the angstiest EdgeLord I know, but I appreciate everything about you. You keep me in check, in a way not many others are capable of. You're always scheming, and I'm pretty sure you have a ten-step plan for world domination. Despite this, you've proven to be an amazing GM, and a great friend.
  • @Senhara: Screm

I listed a few of these in my About Me Section, but I'll list them again.
  • Reading: Fantasy, mystery, drama, romance, etc.
  • Loom Knitting
  • Anime: AoT, Soul Eater, Seven Deadly Sins, Kakegurui.
  • Television: Criminal Minds, Lucifer, Black Mirror.
  • Music: R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop.

Here are some links to music I love. If you'd like to drop some music suggestions, be my guest!

More to be added! (SO much more)

I'm extremely active on discord. So, if you'd like to add me and chat, I'm likely available.

Just wanted to put in my official interest! I'm going to be playing a magic user, looking forward to it. :D
Well, first kaiju sheet.

Hey Clanjos! So, for your Kaiju, the only concerns I have are the deadlifting and the Greek martial arts. As far as those go, I like that you specified most kaiju, but about what size? Just anything smaller than him? And as for the Greek Martial Arts, I'm fine with him knowing some forms of grappling and other strategic moves based on the kaiju he's fighting, but full-on martial arts probably isn't the best idea. You'd definitely have to explain how he knows the martial arts if you're adamant about keeping it in.

"Nice to meet ya, Mr. Durant." Carmen's grin came easily, her lips spreading without a hint of practiced perfection. She always tried to be kind around others. Not enough to leave a lasting impression to the point where they'd come to her for help, but enough to be able to go to them for help when she needed it. Perhaps it was cruel of her, but in the compound, she couldn't have others begging her for assistance.

When he held up his drink, Carmen felt the urge to take a sip from her own. She didn't though, deciding to sneak peeks of the patrons in the bar instead. Out of the corner of her gaze, she saw him set his glass down and promptly returned her focus to his withered face. She didn't really know what to talk to him about. Most people in the compounds asked for names first, then abilities second. She tried not to be one of them. Powers were nice and all, but she wasn't one to flaunt her talents. Then again, there wasn't much else to discuss..."So, your powers or your job must be mighty important if you're able to dress like that." She left it open-ended, not wanting to force him to talk.
@Shoryu

Hey Shoryu! So, as for your characters, I was going to wait until we got the history to add my input but I'm not sure when that'll come in so I'll just tell you what I'm seeing now.

As far as Grinder goes, I really like the concept but there a just a few issues.
  • He's very large, 140 meters when not hunched over is a bit much. 100 meters when standing straight would be more appropriate.
  • Mineral Shaping is fine as far as when the crystals are on his body, however flinging them through the air and shaping them seems pretty unrealistic. If he could just shape them on his body to become sharp armor that may make more sense.
  • If you're still looking for a long range attack, you could extend the range of the beam he has. Also, an explanation on how he varies the beam's power could be a great addition.

Other than those qualms, Grinder seems fine by me!

As far as Gaia is concerned, I only have one small issue:
  • So, for the shaping of its body, making a shield or blade out of the metal coating doesn't make as much sense as the other attributes you included for the shaping. Making spikes form all over its frame, or upping the durability of the parts it uses to stomp/beat the other kaijus could be a good alternative.

That's all I've got to add!

"It's fine, nothing you need to apologize for. I'm not upset with you, or anyone..." Eliza's voice faded as she noticed Colin reaching for his bow. His eyes were focused on the treeline, and she slowly turned to follow his gaze. She squinted, picking up glints of steel and a clump of rags in the moonlight. Vitius. Eliza nearly reached for Colin's hand to prevent him from doing anything rash, but she stopped herself short. When he was all riled up, there was no way of knowing how he'd react to touch.

A flustered wheeze came out of Eliza's throat as Colin's accusatory tone broke through the night. He really wasn't being helpful. If she were to be completely honest, none of them were. She watched with eyes wide as the vampire picked up his pace, kicking up cakey chunks of mud and pebbles until he drew near. She went to put herself between him and Colin, but there was very little room to do so. Reaching into her knapsack, she waited, her body abnormally still.

She certainly didn't expect what happened next. His hand rose, slapping Colin across the face with ease. Eliza spluttered. Why were they all trying to kill him? She stared at Colin, then her gaze flew to Vitius, who was stepping into the inn as if nothing had happened. Seeing this, she felt...enraged. That thing had been in chains, he had been sentenced. His rights had flown out the window the instant he had done, whatever it was he had done! Something within her heart darkened, at least for the moment. Leaving Colin, she stomped after the vampire, two fire charms in hand. She wasn't sure if she had the gall to use them, but at least she had them if Vitius -or Nyssa, depending on whose side she chose- decided to get all bitey.

Rolling up the sleeve of her throwing arm, she stared down the back of Vitius' head with eyes blazing. She approached, wishing she had the strength to turn him around the way Kate had with Nyssa. Instead, she yelled at his back. "What in Goddess' name do you think you're doing?" She balled her free hand up into a fist until her knuckles were pale. "Do you not realize that they could kill you for that? That in every way you're just some disposable creature with a life that means less than nothing?"

"Touch him again, and I'll make sure that the Reds leave your body in the sun to burn." She was sure she'd get in trouble for tattling on a fellow hood, but that didn't matter much to her at this point. Her body was practically shaking from restraint. She glanced at Kate and Meg. If she were thinking straight, she'd feel more than a bit embarrassed by her behavior.

Before he spoke, Carmen felt the man's eyes on her. Despite this, she didn't move until the words were out of his mouth. Shifting on the barstool to face him, she took another sweeping glance of his figure. She felt underdressed around him, with his long jacket, leather gloves, and shoes shined to perfection. His face was worn from a life longer than her own, and although he carried himself well, he had the scruff of someone who no longer bothered. She had to look down, but only slightly, to meet his amber eyes. His air was that of someone important, but she had no idea how much of it came from earned respect. The smell of tobacco clouding the air around him was finer than the cigarettes of the other patrons, to the point where it was almost pleasant.

Done with her inspection, she smiled politely. "I s'pose so. Every other time my car breaks down is pretty often." She let out a small chuckle, though the fact that her car was dying was anything but funny. Her parents lived on the opposite end of the compound. "How 'bout you?"

She thought for a moment. How rude of her, not to introduce herself! "I'm Carmen, by the way...er," She wasn't really on the last name basis with this man, but she supposed it wouldn't do any harm. "Carmen Hange."

Strong hands softly turned the battered steering wheel, guiding the slow-moving hunk of metal she lovingly called 'babs' down the streets of her hometown. A melodic piece was hummed and mumbled sporadically under her breath. Familiar passersby nodded in greeting, receiving a polite wave or a small smile in return. There were denizens of all different types, some with powers visible to the naked eye, and others more...ordinary, though she knew that wasn't the right word. Either way, all was good. It was like she was in her own little world, bordering on blissful. She nearly believed that nothing would come and ruin it.

Moments after she restarted humming the tune that was stuck in her head, she realized she was utterly wrong for being so positive. The worn engine sputtered. With each rotation of balding tires, something beneath the hood jumped. Finally, with a pitiful, artificial wheeze, the car cut out altogether. This was nothing new. The routine was getting so repetitive that Carmen had begun driving a route that she knew was close to her favorite dives. That way, she could at least stop and visit a friend or grab a drink rather than being stranded by herself. Stepping out of the vehicle, she ran a palm over the slightly warm frame of the red lemon, a wry smile on her lips. She knew it was only a matter of when the car would finally give, not if.

A click of her keys and the automobile was locked. Taking in her surroundings, she realized she was closer to Wit's End than any other location. While she wasn't necessarily in the mood for a drink, she didn't mind the bartender's casual attempts at conversation. After shoving her keys back into the pocket of her grey sweatpants -and patting the other pocket to make sure her fork was on her person- she began making her way towards the bar.

As she rounded the corner, she felt a subtle crunch beneath her right foot. Lifting up her sneaker, she peered down at it, seeing the flattened body of a tarantula. Grimacing, she wiped her shoe on the ground and carried on.

Until she heard the scuttling. Turning her head to the side, she laid eyes upon a giant group of tarantulas. They stared back at her, hundreds, if not thousands of eyes all focused on her. Taking this as a cue to leave, she fled. Someone had let their power get out of control, and she wasn't going to stick around and face it. Turning, she yelled over her shoulder, "Sorry about the spider!"

Closing the door of the bar behind her, she heaved a sigh. She wasn't sure if the arachnids had followed, but she was certain they couldn't get through a solid door. Taking a seat at the bar beside a middle aged man, she placed one hand in her pocket, feeling for her taser. Luckily, it was still there. She fished it out and placed it on the counter beside her. "I'll have some tap water, please." She eventually called to the bartender. Taking a glance at the man beside her, she noticed his fancy cigar and his glass of whiskey that had almost been drained. She wasn't sure who he was, but perhaps staring wasn't the best idea. Looking away, she found herself facing a glass of water. She took a long sip, and started to relax a bit.

There was a ringing in Eliza's head, made worse by the way it spun in circles. The client had just punched Nyssa square in the face, after shouting to the Mother that she was Colin's sister. Colin had a sister? Had he mentioned this before? She couldn't recall, she lacked the focus necessary to do so. She watched blank-faced as Nyssa walked away, collected despite having been hit brutally. Had she just threatened the client...again? She really needed to be talked to about that. There were more important things to go over, though. Later, because Colin...where was he?

Colin had escaped her, she was no longer supporting him. A hiss, and a heavily pained noise that had undoubtedly come from her charge. Moments passed, where she was still in a daze before everything came back into clarity. Suddenly hyperaware, she sprang towards Colin. Kate had since walked away, so this was her opportunity to console him, and maybe, just maybe, get some form of an answer. Not daring to touch him lest he pull away in a moment of spite, she instead offered him a gentle look that she hoped would feel similar to the warmth of a hug.

"Guess running from a sibling is as good of an excuse as any." She forced a chuckle, but it didn't quite reach her eyes. "Are you alright, Colin? I'm sure she didn't mean to hurt you. Seems she did mean to hurt Nyssa, though." It was at this point that she realized both women were heading in the same direction. Unfortunately, she couldn't just leave Colin. He looked more like a frightened animal at this point than the brave yellow he was supposed to be. She realized that she'd have to talk him down before she did anything else.
Here's a character for your consideration, @ZAVAZggg. :D
