Costumed AppearanceWhen in costume, Clio goes for a more scandalous impression. She wears a black suit coat with an intentionally tattered tail, and a white collar that goes up to her chin. while the suit coat looks tight, it's made of stretchy material that allows for a wide range of movement. Thigh-high, striped stockings with a black garter belt and black boots make up the bottom half of her outfit, while a tophat and belt with fake skulls tie the look together. A skeleton mask rests on her face when she's in costume, for anonymity. For a more detailed reference, click on her main image.
Civillian AppearanceWhenever Clio isn't fighting crime as Makaya, she's seen in sweats and loose-fitting tops. Her shoes are usually on their last legs, but she will buy a new pair if she has the money. Her hair is either in braids or loose twists, though she does throw them up into a bun when she's focusing. When she has to dress up, she will meet the requirements of the situation.
IconCostumed PersonalityDespite her more...seductive attire, when dressed up Makaya is anything but an enchantress. Due to the chaos magic flowing through her, she's a bit hyper. In all honesty, she seems to be going through a manic episode. She's quite upbeat, her mannerisms bordering on jumpy. Full of energy, she'll actively pace whenever she's not in battle, out of an intense desire to move. Even in battle, she'll shift her weight and tap her thigh. Her thoughts race, and she isn't afraid to voice all of them. Despite her fastpaced mental state, she's actually rather good at picking up on small things. She'll talk the ear off of a friend or foe, but isn't against shutting up if it gets annoying.
Civillian PersonalityClio is usually seen in a tentative state. She's struggled with depression since the age of thirteen, though she wasn't clinically diagnosed until she was sixteen. She's always felt guilty, for what she's not sure. She has intense trouble remembering small things, like people's names. Whenever she isn't working towards a goal, she's sleeping. When she is working towards a goal, she's far more active to the point where her depression is nigh unnoticeable. Usually, she'll be taking Advil or Tylenol for intense headaches. Despite her own mental issues, she's quite nice to the people she meets. She's always forcing a smile, but she can be genuinely happy at times.
Civilian OccupationAccountant (Works From Home)
Skills- Excellent Endurance
- Expert Acrobat
- Skilled Dagger Combatant
- Skilled Judo Combatant
Powers- Summoning: The simplest of her powers, Makaya is able to summon things to her that weren't on her person, so long as they're marked with a specific rune. If her weapon is thrown mid-combat, she can summon it back with ease. She is unable to summon items that aren't marked, and she cannot summon organic items.
Voodoo: An umbrella term for a variety of Chaos magic.
- Shadow/Darkness Magic: Makaya can control her own shadow, as well as the shadows of others. She can make them tangible puppets, able to grapple and perform basic combat techniques. She can also manipulate darkness to a lesser extent. She can form constructs such as chains, cuffs, and barriers out of the darkness. She's also been known to use darkness to form platforms for ease of movement.
- Basic Necromancy: Makaya can bring fresh corpses back to life. They'll be little more than puppets, following basic commands with limited speech capabilities. A corpse that has been dead for longer than five hours is of no use to her. Bodies that have been completely torn apart are unable to be used by her. Once reanimated, the corpse will stay in the state of decay they were in upon animation until Makaya is done using them.
- Voodoo Dolls: If Makaya manages to collect a piece of DNA (hair, nail trimming, etc.) from her foe, she can stuff it down the throat of a pre-made voodoo doll and use it to manipulate her enemy. This is only good for physical attacks. Makaya can break limbs, and coerce an opponent to move. If the doll is burned, it will become useless, rather than the enemy being burnt to a crisp. If it is thoroughly damaged, it will become useless, etc.
- Curse Inducement: Through a ritual performed over a cauldron, involving the DNA of her subject, Makaya is able to induce curses. These curses are very finicky and take time to perfect, as well as ingredients only made available to her by her family.
- Necrosis: This curse will cause the cells of the victim to begin rotting at an accelerated rate. Skin will slough off until there's nothing left but a skeleton.
- Blood Boil: When affected by this curse, the victim will experience overheating, dehydration and overtime, complete boiling of their blood.
- Half-Ass: A much simpler curse that can be induced through a spoken spell, this curse will begin transforming the foe into a half-donkey mutant creature over time.
- Soul Bound: To complete this curse, Makaya must be on the last leg of her life. Using what's left of her essence, she can bind her soul to a creature and haunt them after death. This is only a part of her soul, so it won't be tangible, and can only be seen by the person she haunts.

Character History/OriginLong before Clio was born, her ancestors were using the magic of Chaos to affect their lives for the better. They manipulated almost every aspect of their day. Changing the weather to ensure plenty of rainfall and sunny days when they wished it, affecting the infertile soil to make crops grow like mad, even coercing men and women to serve them. All of this, to make life just a tad more luxurious. They were walking a path that could easily take them towards madness, but for the longest time, it didn't. It wasn't until the family divided -one half staying in their firm line and the other straying from the trail- that things changed. Those that had decided to stray began utilizing their magic in new ways. They placed deadly curses on their enemies, effectively squashing them. They brought back the dead, to serve relentlessly and without protest. They began to manipulate the shadows, to put all possible usurpers in chains.
Kicked out of their original clan, the users of this new magic traveled the world, eventually settling in New Orlean's. There, the magic was seen as normal. In fact, it had a name. Voodoo. Taking on a new surname, the Delphine's began their takeover of New Orlean's. It wasn't until magic was swept under the rug that they stopped, and their way of life became little more than tall-tales shared between the Delphine children.
Clio, born a Delphine in 1996, absorbed these stories like they were more than works of fiction. She attempted to convince her cousins, older and younger, of the truth of these tales. It wasn't until the resurgence of magic that she realized how right she had been. The Delphines fell into their old ways as if they hadn't been stopped in the first place. Clio took to Chaos magic like a fish to water, training since the young age of seven. She started small at first, utilizing magic in the way her ancestors did. She affected the coin tosses on the playground at school, coerced her gymnastics coach to allow her to join the team despite how small she was. She even attempted to use it on her parents, and for her efforts they allowed her to get her first set of daggers at the age of twelve. And while she didn't begin using them seriously until she was sixteen, she found them to be fascinating.
It was when she was thirteen that she began brewing curses and making her dolls. To this day, she remembers her first curse. Maeve, a middle school bully, had picked on her friends for the umpteenth time. She had gone home in a storm of rage and snuck her mother's cauldron. Maeve fell ill over the course of two weeks and was bound to the hospital bed until recovering miraculously. This recovery was thanks to her parents, who had found out about Clio's curse and promptly made her undo it. They talked to her relentlessly from then on, telling her that she was too young to use these serious abilities and that it would affect her psyche.
They had no idea how right they were. Clio began feeling...hideous. She carried a pang of guilt inside her heart and was sluggish. She only truly had energy during gymnastic classes, or when she was using her magic. Other than that, she slept and cried. She felt miserable, a side effect of too much chaos magic too fast. The feeling stuck with her even after she grew up and moved away to New York City. It chased her, only growing as she attempted to use her magic for her benefit.
It wasn't until she made the choice to become a hero that she started to feel herself again. After seeing so many news stories, about the destruction and good metahumans were doing to their world, Clio decided to step up to the plate. It was a bit of a rush decision and for the first two years of her career, she was getting her ass handed to her at every turn. Every time she came home, she felt worse. Despite this, she continued to use her magic in the hopes of helping. Not only others but herself. Taking on the guise of Makaya, she relished in the feeling of euphoria from using her magic, only to go home in tears after a night of crime-fighting. Now twenty-five, her situation is only getting worse, but she's built up a small name for herself.
