You do you know if you don't try? If you try and succeed...awesome! If you try and you don't succeed...at least you didn't let fear and doubt dictate your actions...

Luke sat at the opening of a cave that he and Ryan had found. It was night time and as usual Luke agreed to take the first shift mainly because he liked to sit and gather his thoughts, but also being in the outdoors he enjoyed looking up at the night sky taking in the stars. The world was in the dumper and tomorrow wasn't promised to anyone, but it was moments like these that Luke just took in the beauty around him and remembered that God was still in control, because he was the only one who could've painted a tapestry like this.

As he studied the stars Luke's mind began to drift back to the night he left the Amish...
_________________________________________________________________

Luke approached Elder Joseph Perkins home. He was very pensive about all of this, but it was time. Over two years ago the community took him in and trusted him now it was time for Luke to trust someone besides the Hansons who took him in, and he could think of no one better than the man he came to view as a father figure. Not to mention Luke needed his gear back.

Luke knocked on the door and Elder's Wife Laura answered. He said, "Evening Mrs. Perkins I'm sorry to be leaving so be coming to your home so late, but I was wondering if I Elder is still awake and that I could talk with him. This is very important."

Laura replied, "Of course Luke come in."

Luke said, "Sorry ma'am this is a private matter that I need to speak with Elder about. Please I hope you can respect my wishes."

Laura nodded somewhat concerned and replied, "Of course Luke I'll go get him you can have a seat on the swinging bench."

Luke bowed his head slightly and said, "Thank you." Luke took a seat on the bench and waited. As he did Luke looked at the stars and he never really noticed them until this moment. Here he had been here for over two years and he never really looked at the sky and realized how wide open this area truly was. It was even more wide open than the farm he grew up on. Just then he heard the door open and saw Elder Joseph walking out carrying a Bible.

Elder said, "Good evening Luke. How are you?"

Luke shook his head for a moment and said, "Not good Elder I'm afraid. In fact I'm not sure where to begin to be honest"

Elder sat next to him and said, "Try from the beginning that usually works best for me."

Luke replied, "I'm gonna miss your wisdom sir."

Elder looked concerned and Luke said, "You see Elder Joseph my real name is Aaron Miller. I was a former Government Agent and I faked my death. I know certain secrets about our Government and if those secrets ever became public knowledge people might lose faith and those in power could lash out. Not to mention it could undermine our Government inspite of the fact that what they did was wrong. I've done everything in power to protect myself from being found, but even that power has limits, and over the last two days I've noticed certain unmarked black cars in the area. I'm afraid that it's only going to be a matter of days, or maybe even hours before they move to bring me in. They won't care who is in the way ,or if they have the right to do this or not. In fact if they have to they'll wipe this community off of the map just to make sure I'm dealt with."

Elder took it all in and showed no real expression. Luke could've been talking to him about the weather the way Elder reacted. Elder asked, "What can I do to help you?"

Luke took a deep breath and said, "I told The Hansen family about this already and they said they gave you my gear. I need it back and I need to go for the good of the community. If I don't leave soon you all will pay the price for your compassion for me, and I can't handle that."

Elder stood up and said, "Meet me at the barn."

Luke went to the barn and waited for a few moments. He saw Elder Joseph approach carrying a couple of items and he opened a shed next to the barn. Elder Joseph then pulled out Luke's back pack and bow and black fedora. Elder put the extra items in the back pack and handed it to Luke.

Elder said, "It's some of Laura's homemade bread and strawberry jam."

Luke smiled and said, "I'm really gonna miss her cooking." He put on his back pack and bow, but before he could put his hat on Elder Joseph said, "Wait a moment Luke. Please bow your head."

Luke bowed his head Elder Joseph put his hand on Luke's head and said, "May the Lord bless you and keep you safe. May The Lord guide your steps and empower you Luke to serve in his name. May The Lord look upon you with grace and give you peace my brother. Amen."

Luke nodded, crossed himself and said, "Amen thank you Elder Joseph I'll never forget you all. Blessings to you and the community."

Elder Joseph replied, "God Speed to you..." he smiled and said, "Luke."

Luke tipped his hat and was on his way into the night.
Luke smiled as he remembered that night and pulled out a bottle of water. He raised it up and said, "To you Elder Joseph. All things considered so far so good. God Bless you sir."
(Tapping on the mic)...hello?
Drummer and I are pretty much linked in terms of our characters...and what you see on our CS-s is what you get...besides I am under the influence every so often because I threw my back out,,,but it's been almost 24 hours since I had to take something for it...so I think I'm on the upswing.

All that being said I got an idea for a flashback...need to think on it a little more...it won't be much but it should give a bit more insight into Luke's character and how he feels about others.

Well also Merc has school and work 8 days a week. Sometimes he gets home and just goes straight to sleep from all the stuff he has to do all day, so I can't hold any sort of inactivity against him.

yep me neither.
I believe that if we went over the line he would've told us in a very subtle way...besides he's very creative I'm sure he would've found a way to deal with our attacks and as he has noted RL has become hectic.

We'll be okay....probably.

Theme Song: I am Bruce Springsteen fan all the way from my black hair all the way to my Size 12’s. If there is one song that summarizes me and I can call my theme it’s “Born to Run.” I go non-stop all the time on the field and that is what helps make things happen for me., and I know I’m gonna get to this place where I really wanna go and I’ll walk in the sun.

Someone In Your Sights :: Not really right now

Boyfriend(or)Girlfriend :: Got out of a relationship about 3 months ago. (Broke up over Christmas)

Historical Background :: Pull up a seat and take a load off. Want something to drink? There’s some bottled water in the fridge go ahead and grab a bottle it’s okay.

There’s not a lot to tell really I mean you can read all about me online. Oh you don’t follow College Football? Well then that’s different okay get comfy and I’ll give you my life story so far.

Name’s Peter Jason McCabe, but you can all me P-J everyone else does it’s okay. Anyway I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. I know you’re wondering how I got all the way out here in California. I’ll get to that in a minute. My dad works for the Pittsburgh Fire Department, he’s retiring next year after 30 years on the job, and mom was a school teacher she’s retiring next year too. I learned early on in life the value of physical strength and education from both of them. I have an older brother who’s a lawyer and an older sister in the FBI and a younger sister who’s graduating High-School this year. I’m so proud of her. Yeah I come from a pretty tight knit Irish-Catholic family.

I wanted to go to college because I saw the value of a good education and ever since I was a kid I wanted to be a doctor, but my parents could only do but so much for us in terms of paying for our education. I was pretty good at football, but I realized if I was great I could get a full-ride anywhere I wanted to go. I worked hard on the field at being the best outside linebacker I could be to get the attention of any college recruiter that saw our games. Considering we were the State Champs three years in a row when I was playing there were plenty of recruiters looking at us.

My senior year I had tons of offers to play anywhere I wanted basically. Pitt came calling of course, so did Penn State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Miami, Texas, and LSU. However I decided to go with Cal State University of Long Beach, because one I was tired of winter I wanted to be some place warm. More importantly I was promised a chance to start as a Freshman, and starting at outside linebacker especially I couldn’t say no to that. The others said I might get a chance to start my junior year and I couldn’t wait that long so here I am in sunny California.

You see I love playing, but it’s not all that I am. Football is a means to an end for me. I want to be a doctor, and I figure if I get drafted into the NFL I can play 6 or 7 years and walk away with enough money to get into med-school free and clear. It looks like it’s working out too because according to ESPN and all the draft web-sites they got me going anywhere from top 10 to top 20 either way I’m going in the first round. Now before you go thinking I’m just doing all this football for me well you’re wrong. Truth be known my agent and I have already set something up with real-estate agent in Florida that a half of my signing bonus, and contributions from my older sibs, is going to build a house for my mom and dad in Pensacola, FL. They’ve worked so hard for us kids and to do the best they can now it’s our turn to take care of them. My younger sister I’m covering her college education with another part of my signing bonus.

Description of Persona :: Look I’ll be the first to admit my size and what I do isn’t exactly warm and fuzzy to say the least, but I do everything I can to put people at ease. I crack a joke, smile, strike up a conversation I don’t want people to look at me and think I’m a dumb jock, or that I’ll rip their head off if they look at me. My parents raised me to be a gentleman first and foremost and to put the needs of others before my own, so I don’t use my size and skills on the field to bully others. When I’m on the field I play hard and play to win, but when the game is over I’ll be the first to shake hands with you for a good game. I like being with my friends and not just other players. I like being part of the science club, and I even enjoy singing in the choir at St. Matthew’s on Sunday mornings. Hey just because I live in another city doesn’t mean I stopped practicing my faith. I don’t think I’m perfect though I like to have a few brews now and again, the day we beat Bama I had a hangover for 2 days, and I have indulged in certain pleasures that my Priest and my parents wouldn’t be thrilled with. All that being said I try to do more things right than wrong.

Descriptive Appearance :: I got my straight black hair from my father and my blue eyes from my mother. Of course to play outside linebacker you gotta have size and speed so being 6’4” and weighing in at 220 makes me an ideal person for that role. I got a sizable scar on my left hand from when we were playing Hanover my junior year. Some D-Lineman took a cheap shot at our QB dove right at his knees twice and the refs never called it, so one thing led to another and there was full blown riot on the field by midway through the second quarter. I went after that clown and got him on the ground. I didn’t even wait to get his helmet off I tried punching him through his face mask. Got him good and tore up my left hand, but the bright side I only missed three plays.

Accessories :: I wear my high-school ring because it reminds me of where I came from, and it was a gift from my grandmother. She bought it for me just before she died. I also wear a diamond stud in my left ear. My father got it for me grudgingly. He told me if we won our third in row I could get a earring with the rest of our linebacking corps. My father big tough firefighter paid for his son to get his ear pierced. He’d never admit but I swear I thought I saw him smile in the mirror because of what the earring meant.

Photographed Appearance ::
