You do you know if you don't try? If you try and succeed...awesome! If you try and you don't succeed...at least you didn't let fear and doubt dictate your actions...

You got my attention. I'd like in on this one.
Restraint sounds interesting. Let's talk about it.
My character is at a stand still...The Atom is slowly suffering from the Kryptonite as well and waiting for either Superman or Supergirl to help her.
Alex was now on top of the man in the suit. This made Alex a little sad because he was thinking it would be so cool if this thing was a robot, but just then the man rolled effortlessly and as he did he shoved Alex right back through the door. Alex landed flat on his back and his head bounced off the carpet. Sadly though it was very thin carpeting and there was linoleum under it and Alex knew once again he probably had a mild concussion.
The Hilton Hotel Union Station Store Room
St. Louis Missouri
Present Day

Luke Porter had been calling this store room in the Hilton home for a little over four days. Granted it wasn't exactly Graceland but it had four walls, a ceiling, an emergency light system with working lights, and a door. Compared to some of the other places he had been this was a suite and there were plenty of things to use as weapons if needed and supplies to make things a little more bearable. Luke pulled out his survival knife, some sticks he picked up a long the way, and began carving up some more arrows.

The building was so quiet it was easy to tell if there was someone or something in the building. It was just the way Luke wanted life on his terms and not having to worry about anything or anyone else. Although that wasn't usually the case about six weeks ago he and another fella by the name of Ryan Bishop traveled together. They basically did The Lone Ranger and Tonto routine which was helping others when they could and then moving on. Until they hit Chicago and they met up with a woman by the name of Candice.

Candice and Luke found that they had a lot of common interests, but Ryan wasn't sure about her. Luke had the same feeling too, but he had been living the life of a nomad four years prior to the outbreak. He was ready to stop moving and plant some roots for a while, but Ryan wanted to move on so the two men parted company with no hard feelings.

Luke remembered that he and Candice had things going pretty good with one another for a time. They were living in a cabin just off of Lake Michigan and it seemed that Luke had finally found a place to call home. That was until Luke began noticing Candice was sneaking out at night. She said she was going to gather supplies, and have some alone time. One night Luke followed her and that was the night Luke realized Ryan had been right all the time. Candice was luring people into her cabin, gaining their trusts, and then at some point drugging them. Once the person woke up they discovered that they had been given to an Overlord in an outpost as a slave, and Candice would get a cut of the poor sap's goods.

Luke made his way back to the cabin and found the syringes Candice used for drugging people. He waited in a dark corner and when Candice entered the cabin Luke drugged her. When Candice awoke she found herself tied to a tree and gagged with a knife off to the side.

Luke stood there and said, "I followed you last night. I know what your scam is and if I ever catch up to Bishop again I got a big I told ya so coming to me."

Candice struggled and growled as Luke said, "Why do I get the feeling you're not saying very nice things about me and my family heritage? Anyway, you took what little freedom many other people had and destroyed it. Now this is the day that you will answer for what you've done."

Luke took two steps back, struck an arrow against a rock causing it to flame, loaded his bow, pointed it at Candice, and then quickly fired it at the cabin about 100 yards away. The side of the cabin was quickly engulfed in flames as Luke turned back to Candice and said, "I poured some of the kerosene on the side of the cabin. You took away so much from so many now I'm taking everything you have away from you. Don't worry I'm only leaving with what I came here with."

Luke kicked the knife a couple more inches out of the way and said, "Pretty painful to know that your freedom is just beyond your reach as you watch everything in your world be destroyed. I figure you'll either find a way to get that knife and cut yourself free, maybe you'll starve to death, or the walkers will get you. Either way justice is now served and I say goodbye and good luck."

Luke tipped his hat and walked away as Candice struggled and screamed through a gag as the cabin now burned through the night.

For the first time since that episode Luke smiled. He was finally at peace with what had happened, and now he also had a few new arrows to work with.

Luke said, "Okay time to go do some looking around and see what else I can bring back."

Luke began patrolling around the building with his knife ready to be used. Then through a hole in the wall he saw someone resting in a room. Luke was even more shocked when he recognized the person resting there.

Luke made a clucking sound to let them know he wasn't a zombie. He opened the door and saw Ryan Bishop. Luke smiled for a moment and shook his head. He said, "If you agree not to say I told you so about Candice I'll give you two bottles of water."
Rogers was studying the case files in private room awaiting the arrival of his partner. He had several files spread around and Edwin kept moving his eyes back and forth looking for that one piece of information that would spark the investigation. Just then Captain Sullivan entered the room carrying a mini cooler/large lunch bag.

Edwin looked up and Sullivan asked, "Mind if I join you for a few."

Edwin motioned at the open chair and replied, "Sure Cap."

Sullivan sat down and said, "First off your partner is on leave of absence effectively immediately. Family emergency so as of now you're on your own. We'll see what we can do about getting someone down there to help you at some point, but no promises."

Edwin nodded and said, "Got it Cap."

Sullivan shook his head and said, "There's a million ways that this thing could go sideways on you. You got the Governor, two Mayors, two Police administrations, and oh yeah a psycho with a Snow White fetish. Not to mention you won't have the resources or weight of this department to back you up. You're gonna be dealing with a department that is just slightly more advanced than the Amish. You're one of my best friends Edwin and a great cop, yet I feel like I'm sending into the Lions Den with the lions sound asleep while you're wearing a steak suit with the 1812 overture blaring in the background."

Edwin shrugged his shoulders and said, "What are friends for? Besides this is why I get paid slightly more than the guy who makes my Chai Latte. I know the risks Cap and I realize that there's a lot of chefs in the kitchen, so I just gotta make sure I don't drop any eggs. Besides we're still on for the Steelers home opener."

Sullivan replied, "Sounds good. Got anything so far?"

Edwin shook his head and said, "About the only things I know for sure is the butler didn't do it and there's no indication of an evil queen either. I've got a couple theories but I need to get down there to figure out some more. Hopefully the local yocals didn't screw up the crime scene too badly."

Sullivan nodded and said, "Well I''ll let you get on your way, but before you go.." Sullivan opened up the bag, pulled out a bottle of Scotch, and pulled out two drinking tumblers with ice. He poured some Scotch in each one and said, "One for the road."

Edwin smiled and took one of the drinks. Sullivan took a glass and raised it saying. "Safety, blessings, and good hunting my friend."

Edwin raised his glass and said, "Live long and prosper." The two clinked glasses and downed their drinks. Sullivan cleaned up the glasses and said, "Before you go get down to disbursement you got some cash waiting for you to pay for expenses while you're there. enjoy the ride on your Harley looks like you got great weather for it."

Edwin stood up and began gathering his files. He said, "Time to get to it,." Both men finished about the same time and Sullivan stuck his hand out and said, "Good luck detective." Edwin shook his hand and said, "Thank you sir."

Edwin picked up his travelling money and made his way into the parking lot. He sat on his Harley and said under his breath, "Hi Yo Silver away." He started the motorcycle and was on his way.
Appearance:

Name: Sam Hawkins

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Orientation: Hetero

Relationship Status: Single

Occupation: Private Investigator

Favourite Books: Tale of 2 Cities by Charles Dickens/The Art of War by Sun-Tzu./The Bible/ The Spenser Series by Robert B. Parker/ The Nikki Heat/Derrick Storm books by Richard Castle.

Personality: Sam is a laid back guy who loves reading. He usually keeps to himself, but is such a regular at the library that if someone comes up to him he’ll talk with them. However if he is working on a case and he is doing research he is focused and keeps his sentences very short. Sam enjoys being in the library for the quiet and seeing people actually using it as a resource for learning.

Brief Bio: Sam Hawkins is a former police officer who learned early on that the key to catching a crook was out thinking them. Sam began to use the library to read up and study criminals, and it was no surprise that he began to make more and more arrests. Soon Sam became a detective and began to use the library even more, but Sam found himself hamstrung by paper work and procedures by the very same laws he swore to uphold.

Sam grew frustrated with seeing the guilty walk free and turned in his badge. Sam used the inheritance he got from an uncle’s passing and opened up his own detective agency. The agency is doing very well because Sam gets results. Those results once again are from spending hours and hours in the library doing research. Sam is there so often he usually takes over a study room when he is on a case and just paces in there for hours and hours. Though he is a dedicated detective he hates mysteries. Sam feels that there should be an answer for everything and refuses to leave things in a gray area.

Other: Sam is a practicing Roman Catholic who loves working out, the music of Bruce Springsteen, a drink every now and then, and of course reading.
