Hey, why not let LowKey in here? Instead of it being zombies, why not her two characters? It's a good way to introduce them, it increases the size of the group, and it's less awkward than someone just barging in out of nowhere.

Sorry. I'm at university right now. It's been hard to post when I don't have much internet access.

Everything had gone... weird. Only just a while ago, the clouds had been thick in the sky. Yet now, the sky had fallen, as if the weight of the world had pushed it downward.

What could this be a harbinger of? Rain? Or something worse?

He was being foolish, though. This was life, not some whimsical story. It just happened to be rather foggy, nothing more.

So why had he become so nervous? The world seemed to move, restless in its eerie tranquility, before ceasing again. Mihai'en had known instinct before, but never something on this level. This was primal, unsettling, and inhuman. This time, however, he knew it wasn't in his head. The forest itself had taken note, if only briefly. Creatures of all shapes and sizes stopped, and for what seemed like forever, the forest knew true silence.

He breathed.

Everything returned to normal.

Whatever it was, it didn't last long. The woods again picked up its routine, as if nothing had ever happened. Even Mihai'en felt a sense of relief, but he refused to stop listening. Sounds traveled, around him, from all manner of beasts that coloured the world around him. But another sound, harder to hear but much more distinct, found itself traveling on the winds. Quiet, almost a murmur, but sound nonetheless. Mihai'en turned to his companion. "Shiro, do you hear someone... talking?"

Tyki said
"i couldn't wake you up otherwise now get up. town's a few hours away so we'll get there by lunch" shiro says evenly, his annoyed gaze belaying his lack of love for rising early especially when it was such a rude awakening as the one he'd experienced this morning and added on top of that the lack of comfortable sleeping as the closest thing he had to a sleeping bag or blanket was his cloak which he was currently wearing to hide his more wolfish traits. after gathering up the rabbit hide, having cleaned it the previous night and most likely going to try and sell it in town for a meal which he was in dire need of

Mihai'en smirked lazily. "All right, all right, don't hurt yourself while scowling like that, your face'll be stuck like that forever. Though in all honesty, I suspect it already is."
Standing up, Mihai'en packed up his things and began to follow Shiro. Clearly, he wasn't a morning person.
In the daylight, the forest seemed far less intimidating. In fact, with the sun shining through it, it had a serene, albeit mysterious air to it.
There are worse things you can do than live, I suppose, if you don't mind the solitude. Humans were social beings, though. It's no surprise that even Shiro might make the occasional voyeur into town.
He looked at Shiro. "I'm with you all the way."

"Please, Mum, it's still evening," said Mihai'en. Of course, it was morning, and the person kicking him was not his mother. It took him a minute, but he eventually got up out of bed.
"Whassa ma'er?"He asked, tiredly. "Why're ye kickin me?"

Despite his cavalier attitude afterwards, it was pretty clear that Shiro had just laid bare a piece of his soul, and Mihai'en was both grateful and saddened by that.
It had only been for a moment, but in that brief span of time, the icy demeanor of the man across from him had melted, and he had looked... sad.
He would've offered his condolences, but it was clear that he hadn't wanted to say much more. Most people would've simply sat there: somebody lunging after a rabbit was usually giving a pretty clear sign that they wanted an end to a conversation.
Still, though, that was pretty damn impressive. Most people wouldn't have been able to move as he had, nor so quickly. Then again, living alone in the woods requires a set of skills beyond that of normal men.
As to the rabbit itself, though, he found that he wasn't very hungry at all.
"Again, I thank you for your hospitality, and your... frankness." He smiled, genuinely. "But as you understand, it's been a long day. So if you'll excuse me, I'll take my leave. Wake me if you had need of me for watch."
And with that, he found somewhere comfortable, and fell asleep.

"You make a fair point, la- friend," said Mihai'en. But how much could he say? If he told the whole truth, he'd either be in real trouble, or he would be thought as crazy. With prying ears, he couldn't guarantee that most of the truth would be safe to say. Best to keep it simple.
"I'm nothing special, though. I soldiered for a few years, started when I was about 15; conscription and all that. 'Dyfed 3rd Company', I was. Never saw much of combat then. Ahead 4 years, and here I am, fugitive of the king's justice. Deheubarth's a long way's away though."
The second he mentioned his home country, though, he immediately regretted it. If this boy had heard the news, it wouldn't take much for him to put two and two together. Then again, he seemed to live in the middle of nowhere, so it was entirely possible that he hadn't heard the news.
"But don't mind me, I'm just rambling," he trailed off, hoping Shiro would forget what he'd said.

Mihai'en bowed slighty to Shiro, his head still stinging from the rock that hit him.
"I thank you for your hospitality, lad," he said, politely. He smiled. The last person he had seen was a demon, a probably rather crazy. The people before that he screamed in terror when they last saw him, after he had transformed for the first time. Seeing someone treat him with hospitality was a welcome change of pace.
"I don't mean to pry, but could I get to know a bit more about you? You seem friendly, behind that scowl."
