Calliope took the mission sheets and looked them over, furrowing her eyebrows slightly. 'Hmmm, bandits or possible fish eating monster?' the mage pondered, chewing at her bottom lip while she concentrated. 'The monster would probably be more fun, but the bandits would really test me.'

"Excuse me!" The diamondback dragon slayer exclaimed as he brushed by them, knocking into Calliope and causing her to accidentally step on Dude's foot.

"Sorry," the swordswoman apologized as she righted herself.

"Hey, what gives, you guys took the good jobs!" Raymond groaned, his green eyes trained on the three mages congregated "Why don't you just take both? They should be a piece of cake with Alban and Zeb with you, and not to mention that awesome looking sword! And if you guys need a Dragon Slayer, I'm always up for a job!" Ray declared as his flying cat landed on his shoulder.

"Oh, I guess that works," she replied, glancing back at Dude and Alban to gauge their reactions. "We could stop by Serpent's Cove first and then take care of the bandits. We won't get as much money though, splitting it four ways," Calliope pointed out, catching sight of a black and white haired mage that was trying to see the mission board over everyone. "Oh jeez, I'm sorry," the girl said, stepping out of the other mage's way and giving him a gentle nudge toward the board. "Go on, pick something out."
"If you need help choosing or help with a job I'd be more than happy to help you Calliope. Or you can go with me on one, I'll split the reward even with you,” came a voice from beside her and the girl looked up to see Alban peering down at her. ‘Geez, he’s tall,’ Calliope thought, giving him a smile. Alban had a reputation around the guild as being the resident lady killer, along with Nathan, but neither one of them had ever over stepped themselves around her, so the astral mage was beginning to worder if there was any truth to the rumors.

“Yeah, okay. That sounds like a plan,” Calliope decided, rocking up on her tip toes to give him a friendly punch in the bicep. “I’m just getting a hold of my caster magic, but I’m pretty handy with Dawnstar," she told him, gesturing over her shoulder with her chin where her sword was strapped to her back.

The Dude himself chose that moment to wander over, nodding his head and smiling at her. ’He’s tall too. Is there a height requirement for guys to join the guild?’ she wondered, nodding back to the necromancer. "Heya, kid. Good to see ya making' progress. Lemme know if ya need any help. Ain't any other undead jobs on the board, so I'm free for a while." The bald man then turned and flipped his eye patch up to taunt Barnaby, who seemed to be staring at him from a table nearby. Calliope couldn’t help it, she burst out laughing.

“The look on your face!” the girl cackled, doubling over and clutching at her midsection as Barnaby turned an alarming shade of crimson in embarrassment. Once Calliope managed to stop her giggle fit, she straightened back up and addressed Dude’s earlier question. “I think me and Alban were gonna try one together. Did you want to come with us?” she asked, cocking her head to the side.

Nathan brushed by them, murmuring to himself before plucking a flyer from the board and making his way back towards the door. “Good luck!” she called after him, before turning her attention back to the other two mages at the mission board.
"I need to... not let people like that get to me... there are a lot of nice people, too. I just try to ignore them...stay out of their way. I'm... I was born this way, and I cant... I cant fucking get rid of it, so I just need to deal with it."

Lilith swallowed and stared hard at the flowers in front of her. ’He’s so brave,’ she thought sadly, fiddling with the end of a sprig of baby’s breath. It was strange, the florist always felt like she needed to keep her animal features hidden, but for the first time since she was a little girl, Lilith wanted to let someone else in on her secret. She couldn’t though. The brunette was certain that shop owners would fire her if they found out and the landlord would more than likely evict her, so she kept mum. It was just too risky.

“That guy was just an old fart anyways,” Lilith told him, trying to lighten the mood. The girl looked over her shoulder and saw Avery in front of the orchid table, blinking down at the delicate flowers. Lilith felt another wave of guilt wash over her and she clenched her hands, determined to find a way to fix it somehow. Her blue eyed gaze landed on the pink peonies and she knew instantly what she needed to do.

Leaning over the table she grabbed a bundle of the flowers and sat back down, her hands moving over the stems. Her tongue peeked out of her mouth as she worked, deftly twisting the ends together. When she was finished, Lilith was holding a rough flower crown in her hands. “Here,” the girl grinned, holding it up for the other to inspect. “It’s for you. You don’t have to wear it out of the store or anything,” she told him, getting up and walking over to the taller twenty year old. “I just figured it would look good with your antlers,” she continued, carefully draping the wreath onto Avery’s head. “Maybe you could let me take a picture for you?”
Hey @Jones Sparrow, what are your rules about how often a player can reply? I usually try to wait until there are at least two or three other posts so I don't spam, but I'd like to know what you expect. ^.^
“Todays the day,” Calliope told herself, zipping up her jacket with a little more force than necessary. The grey haired girl gazed at her reflection in the mirror, her mouth set in a grim, determined line. “Today is the day. I’m really gonna do it. I’m going to take my first mission,” she repeated, before nodding and turning to exit her dorm room. The young mage trekked up the sandy path to the guild house and tugged open the door.

“Good mornin’, Cantaloupe!” greeted Barnaby, a ginger mage with an affinity for acid magic.

“It’s Calliope.”

“Sure thing, Carousel,” Barnaby pushed on, ignoring her correction. Calliope huffed and crossed over to the mission board, deciding to ignore taller teen. The ginger boy only followed her, draping himself against her back. “Are you finally going to take a mission? You should take one of the good looking boys with you. Alban? Maybe Ray? Don’t take Dude with you though, he’s mine,” Barnaby sighed, putting even more of his weight on Calliope and fanning himself. “That eyepatch? Soooooooo hot. I even dig the chrome dome.”

“Urg,” Calliope groaned, spinning out from under Barnaby quickly. The other mage squawked indignantly and pin wheeled his arms before falling face first into the floor boards. The girl couldn’t help but grin as the other mage rolled over and at rubbed his face. He shot her a look, before breaking out in a grin of his own. “You wound me, Cabbaaaaaage,” he said, drawing out the last ‘a’ and waggling his eyebrows at her. Calliope just shook her head and kicked at the fallen boy’s leg halfheartedly, before turning her attention back to the mission board.
@Markofkri Hello! I'm super interested in this! I did have a few questions though. Can the original characters have different genders from the cannon ones? For example, having a female doctor or a male companion (Do those even exist? I don't know.).

Would the cannon relationships carry over? Like the pilot and the soldier being married, the mechanic liking the doctor, etc.

Also, which role would you play? Are you our captain tight pants? :D
Awwww, I feel so bad for Arty! The universe is conspiring against him.
Nori was about to give up and go look for another place to eat when Ryva came over and surprised the DJ by bowing slightly, her long hair tumbling over her shoulder in the process. "Excuse me, Lass," the guitarist greeted, smiling sweetly. "I wanted to apologize fer how I acted last night. I realize how conceited I must have seemed, and I apologize. I was only tryin' to make amends fer shovin' ye, and we got off on the wrong foot. I'd like tae start over, if ye do no' mind, lass. And ye're welcome tae come sit with me and Arty, and my pup does no' bite."

Nori felt her face heat up and rubbed at her upper arm embarrassedly. ’Alright, so maybe I haven’t been cured of my Ryva hero worship,’ the blonde admitted to herself, before reaching out to give the other girl a gentle and friendly punch to the bicep. “It’s all good, I think it was a long night for everyone. I’m Nori, by the way,” Nori told her, before shooting a look at the booth where Arty sat. “Yeah, we’d love to sit with you guys, right Kameyo?” Nori asked, turning to quirk a brow at her usually quite roommate. “I’m probably going to die if I don’t get some food soon.”

They made their way over to the booth and Nori gestured for Kameyo to climb in first, putting her across from Arty. Nori normally would have taken the inside seat, but she kind of wanted to pet Ryva’s dog. "In you get, darlin'," the florist insisted, nudging the blue haired girl into the booth. "Hey Arty," she greeted her coworker as she sat down. "You remember Kameyo, right?"

The waitress chose that moment to come back and deliver Ryva and Arty's orders. "Can I have a water and a Belgium waffle?" Nori asked, flashing the other girl a smile when she nodded. The florist had already had enough caffeine on an empty stomach and she was starting to feel jittery. "Hello sweet boy," Nori cooed, focusing her attention on the dog who laid patient at Ryva's feet. She held out a hand and let the dog sniff it, before reaching out to give him a good scratch behind the ears.
Name: Calliope Cross
AKA: Cantaloupe, Kaleidoscope, any other varriation of her name.
Age:19
Appearance:

Ignore her boots, please!
Height: 5'7"
Emblem Location/Color: On the inside of her right arm, under the crook of her elbow. It is bright red in color.
Years in Guild: Two months
Magic Type:Caster and Holder
Magic Style:Energy Vampirism
Spells:
Astral Drain – Once Calliope has depleted the majority of her magical energy, she can steal what she needs from her opponent. This only works if she can maintain skin-to-skin contact with her victim while casting and the spell is broken when the enemy breaks away. This spell can NEVER kill an opponent, only drain their energy reserves.

Astral Transfer – Calliope can transfer her own magical energy to an ally through continuous physical contact. She doesn’t use this spell often because she doesn’t like to feel helpless. This spell can NEVER kill Calliope, only drain her energy reserves.

Bio: Calliope was born one bright, sunny day in summer and was then promptly discarded into the nearest alley way. Fortunately for her, said alley was adjacent to the home of Caister’s best blacksmith and it did not take long for Atlas Cross to hear the tiny babe's caterwauling and for him to have mercy on the little one.

Atlas adopted the little girl and raised her as his own. The blacksmith was a bachelor, so Calliope had no mother, but that was fine by her. She spent afternoons helping her father in the shop, fawning over the local mage’s magical weapons whenever they stopped by. She was enamored with all things magical and began to dream of one day joining a guild herself. Atlas, hoping to distract the girl from this dream, gave the girl her first non-enchanted sword on her fourteenth birthday. As she cradled the sword in her hands, Calliope knew she had found her calling.

After that, Calliope spent all of her spare time practicing. She grew stronger, but still envied the magic items of the guild members. Then one day, when Calliope was eighteen, someone sold her father a magic sword. The teenager begged her father to let her have it and Atlas finally relented, even though he wasn’t sure his adopted daughter would even have the magical ability to wield it. She did, but just barely. The sword drained what little magic energy she had very quickly, so she worked with it every day to build her tolerance.

When she turned nineteen, Calliope finally told her father that she was going to join The Silver Trident. Atlas tried to talk her out of it, knowing firsthand how dangerous a mage’s life could be, but she was determined. The night before she left, Atlas sat Calliope down and told her about the astral transfer magic that had been passed down in his family for generations and how he wanted to give it to her. He reached out and held her at the inside of her left forearm. There was a bright flash of light and it was finished, the blacksmith had permanently transferred all of his magic to his daughter, leaving him powerless. When he removed his hand, their family magic rune had been tattooed on her arm in red.

Calliope left home the next day and began the process of joining the Silver Trident. She still visits her father regularly.

Personality: Calliope has an adventurous spirit, thrives on action, and loves anything that gets her adrenaline up. This of course makes her a bit of a risk taker, which often gets her into sticky situations. It also means that she can get bored easily if she feels like she isn't doing something productive. She also loves to spar. She doesn't feel like swinging swords at a practice dummy improves her skill at all, so anytime someone offers to train with her, she jumps on it.

Relationship: Just her father for now, though she wants to make new friends.

Equipment:
Dawnstar Sword – An old Kanata style sword, it uses flame magic during the day and ice magic at night. Constantly drains magic from the user and slowly losses power until becomes just a regular sword once its owner’s reserves are fully depleted.

Extra:

Calliope is just getting the hang of her astral drain/transfer magic, so she often asks fellow guild members to let her practice it on them.
@The Whacko Hello fellow Elder Scrolls lover! I've never played Oblivion, but after googling Shivering Isles swords, I realized that my sword and the dawnfang/dustfang are basically the same thing. Whoops!

I can try and come up with something else, if that's going to be an issue. I guess I'm not as original as I thought! :)
