Arthur huffed at Rebecca, crossing his arms, and looking away. It didn't feel fair, and he said, "Then it sounds like there isn't much difference between monsters and gods." It was complex, and he was confused, and hurt. He always thought these higher beings, should they exist, would be nice and kind, or at least not cruel and capricious. He softened for a moment, "I'm... sorry." He mumbled, averting his eyes. "It doesn't feel fair. I didn't ask for this, I don't wanna be a kid of one of these monsters, I wanna be normal. I was normal." He said, trying to keep himself from shaking.

Arthur looked Rebecca in the eyes, and continued, "It just... It felt like so little." He said, gripping his hands, "She barely said anything, and she was killed. H-how is that good?" He couldn't think of anybody he ever met who would murder somebody for the few words that were imparted by Des, especially so quickly. It was hard for him to find light in this new world, it felt like even with the gods and magic, there still was no good, just power. He supposed that was what Rebecca said, but it felt so wrong, it felt evil.

"Kid freaked out from a prank." She shrugged, answering Dailsy's question, "Can't even take a scary face apparently, she's the one who knocked me out for my prophecy actually." She shrugged/ She still didn't feel bad about that, even a little bit. Sure, it was brash, but she hadn't caused any harm, and if the kid was gonna be a warrior, she'd need to learn not to flinch at such things. Putting her drink down, she turned her head at Dailsy and said, "Wanna go bully the thanes with me? I feel like gloating."

It wasn't that Beth was upset at not being taken seriously, though she was sure that her being a child of Loki made them doubt her a bit more, and that was something she was far from the happiest about, she never shied away from the chance to brag. Normally she'd go up alone, but having a seeing eye Dailsy sounded fun, presuming she didn't try to pull one over on her. Shoveling the rest of the food in her mouth, she swallowed hard, and stood up, cracking her back, and getting ready to get her "I told you so" on.

Staring at the corpse in front of him, his face turned to horror as he realized what he had just done. Not only was he completely out of control a few moments ago, but this thing was clearly a skrull, and the skrulls knew about his mom. Shaking, he pushed the body away from him, looking down at his blood covered hands. Turning to look at Cas, he put his hands up and stepped away, "I'm me Cas, I promise, look."He said, as the body below him shifted back, "I... I'm sorry. These, these things know about my mom, and they're coming, and I..." He didn't know who to trust anymore. He thought of going to Strange before to get him to his mom, but he was probably a skrull based off what he read a few months ago."Some stuff's been going on, if the Skrull's are attacking, I... We need to talk."

Cassandra looked down at the corpse as Oliver stepped away from it, watching as the body started to shift into a skrull, and she started to relax somewhat now. But still tense as she turned to look at Oliver as he spoke, she knew what was going on with his mother for awhile now. It wasn't really a good time to chat right now, they needed to deal with the current situation but it looked like it was really urgent. "What's going on Oliver?"

Oli looked down at his phone, hoping to turn off the cameras around them, but he couldn't right now. It was too much, he was shakey and scared and it looked like things are coming to a head. "When I first joined the team, I need to you to just listen, okay?" He started, glaring up at the camera in the hall, before closing the distance between him and Cas, lowering his voice, "After that first Skrull showed up, I looked into it, and heroes had dealt with them before. Strange, Stark, Captain Britain, Professor X, Mister Fantastic, and Black Panther, they'd all gone to the Skrull planet before, and they were captured." He was speaking quickly now, maintaining eye contact, "I think, I think they never made it back, and I can't help but think about what he said. The Secret Invasion, I think, this planet is full of Skrulls, I think that some of the most powerful heroes are secretly Skrulls, and I think they're orchestrating all of this. Them meeting us here, they're finally making a move. We have to abandon the mission, we're playing into their hands." He was trying his best not to sound unhinged, but he was clearly terrified. They already knew about him looking into them, clearly, that's why they were trying to use his mom to get to him.

Cass listened closely to Oliver as he told her more of what he had been looking into with the whole skrull situation, she was surprised with the information that he had managed to gather. The Skrulls had infiltrated the team twice now, actually three times now since the way that Flynn was acting and all of a sudden this group of people appeared to attack them. She gently rested a hand on his shoulder, she did believe him for the most part she just needed proof that some of the most powerful people in the world were replaced.

"Listen Oliver, I believe you trust me I really do, but I need actual hard proof that some of the most powerful people in the world are actually what they are. You are asking me to put myself and everyone else on team to put their jobs and lives on the line to. Not to mention that these people, they can easily make us disappear if they really wanted to." She said, and started to remember a little bit of what Novikova had done, she actually got off lucky by just simply getting fired rather then being imprisoned.

Oliver flinched at the touch, before saying, "But, think about it Cas." he started, as the pieces started to click together in front of him, "Who would be the most dangerous in an invasion? The heroes. Not just because they're powered, but because they have the courage to stand." He tried to explain, "Don't you see? When did Stark start keeping an eye on me? When I found that file on Christmas Eve. How many people get personal phone calls from Tony Stark? How many people are watched by Tony Stark on camera? Nobody. They're watching me because I'm one of the only people who know. We have to do something, before it's too late." He was almost pleading with her at this point. Granted, he was sleep deprived, and his mom was dying, and he was chronically paranoid, but this felt real, and he was sure he was right.

"Maybe he likes your hacking skills or something?" Cassandra said trying to lighten the mood just a little bit, as she sighed a little bit and rubbed the bridge of her nose slightly. "Well we are fighting some Skrulls right now, I cant act on anything without any concrete proof once we are done fighting we can try and keep them in our custody and question them. But right now, we need to stay on our mission, just get me the proof and i'll act on that." Cass said, seeing that Oliver did look a little bit tired as well, and probably stress from what his mother is going through. "Is your mom okay?"

Oliver ran his hand over his face, wondering if she just didn't get what was on the line here, or if she was being purposely dense. "You need proof?" He asked, clearly annoyed, "You know what? She's dying, thanks for asking, and unless I can cross the ocean in the next 12 hours, she's going to go without ever seeing me again." His voice was fraught with something that wasn't quite malice, but a kind of pain and anger that was clear. "I'm not going to spend my time chasing down an Avenger, a man that's worth more than all of us combined, when that's just what the skrull want us to do." He said through gritted teeth, "If we're going to be sidelined and useless, I'd rather do it by my mom's side than that. I'm out." He gave her a look mixed with pleading and disgust, wanting her to back down, to listen to him, and to stop this waste of time. If she didn't, he'd be off to be with his mother in her last moments.

Cass closed her eyes for a moment and let out a slight sigh, she knew that he was going through a lot at the moment, with his mother as well as their current mission and the information that he managed to uncover. "Oliver, listen I'm sorry about your mom if you need to be with her then go and see her. But I cant redirect the entire team, if you want I can give you someone on the team to try and get the proof that you need." She said, she really did feel bad for him, and she really didn't want to go against Director Hill's current orders on their mission and going against them and going on a completely separate mission.

Oli rubbed his temples, clearly annoyed, as a plan started to form in his mind. There was one person in Britain that he knew of that would be able to confirm or reject his hypothesis. "Alright. Alright. If you're still going to Queens, I'll go with you that far. If we can, I'll need Niah to come with me." He offered, If he could get Niah, and get Strange to portal him to Britain, they might be able to do something, and still see his mom. "Keep this on the downlow from the rest of the team if you can? I'll ask Niah myself. I don't want anybody who doesn't have to to know about these Skrull."

Cassandra looked at Oliver and nodded towards him, she wouldn't tell anyone at all unless it was really necessary to. "Alright then, and I wont I promise you on that."

"Fine, you're the leader and all." He said, shrugging. Being reluctant to keep the information under her hood was probably a good sign in all honesty, it meant she probably wasn't a skrull. "Let's head back then, yeah?"

"Sounds good to me." Cassandra said as she nodded towards Oliver, and quickly started to head back up the stairs, with Oli following shortly behind

Elizabeth was glad to hear that this girl didn't take exception to her calling out Loki, things getting awkward between the only people in this jungle would be bad, to say the least. It was odd that Klara was depowered and they weren't, but hey, she'd take it. If she had to pick between somebody else being helpless in the jungle and herself being, she'd take the former every day. Keeping her guard of as they walked, she never knew when, or if, something else was going to attack them. This place was crawling with things that would very much like to kill them, and if she could do anything about it, she wouldn't be giving them the chance.

As they entered the shelter, she let herself relax a bit. Now they were at least somewhere that danger couldn't come at from any angle. This was nice, or at least as nice as a hut in the middle of a godsforsaken jungle could be. Stepping into the cave, she gave a look at the girl around the fire, and sat across from her, taking in the warmth of the hearth. She craned her neck to look at the runes sprawled across the floor and asked, "What is it they mean, exactly? Sorry for intruding, but we met your friend out there and she invited us to stay with you. My name's Elizabeth, you're Runa, right?"

Beth cackled a bit at Arnora's correction, before saying, "Oh, newbie is Baldur's kid? that's why she's so soft. Gotcha." She didn't know much about Baldur's children, but she would assume they wouldn't be the toughest things. She herself certainly took after her own dad in plenty of ways, cunning, tricky, and bad with authority, she was sure a god of joy wouldn't exactly have the qualities of a warrior. That being said, it was the last piece of the puzzle. Especially with that prophecy, she was certain now. The end of all things was barreling towards them.

"Well, we're right fucked. Hope you all have enjoyed your afterlives." She remarked, more annoyed at the ceremony than anything, not being able to see the rune above Runa's head. "For a place filled with dead warriors, you'd think there'd be more disability accomodations for our ceremonies." That did piss her off a good bit. She was lucky, being able to navigate the hotel blind, but she was certain others would have a lot more trouble. Her blindfold let her get past most of the hurdles, but that was pretty unique to her. "I'm guessing the Thane's will take me seriously now though, so that's good." She remarked, leaning on the table a bit.

As Rebecca leaned in and whispered something to the Gryphon, he waited for an answer to the question. Honestly, he wasn't sure how he was going to continue to get along with Rebecca, or atleast, have things not be awkward. Her mom killed his friend, after all. Glad the creature was at least going to be okay, he exhaled, before given Rebecca an odd look at her answer. Was it that hard to be straightforward and honest? If things weren't going to get better, she could at least say so, not dress up the reality in something pretty.

"Right, so it's only a matter of time before I'm dead, or somebody else here is." He said, as he could feel his anger rising, before taking a few trembling steps away, "Is it mostly monsters, or do our parents really like killing us too? Or is that just your mom's thing?" The words tumbled out of his mouth, not really thinking about the potential impact they could have. He didn't have anger at Rebecca, but at this entire situation. There didn't seem to be any good or bad forces, just ones that would kill them indiscriminately, and those that would keep them around as long as they were useful.

Oliver gave her an odd look, before his phone rang and his blood ran cold. Hollowly, he picked up the phone, and, while maintaining eye contact, listened to his father deliver the news that time was running out. Inhaling, he said, "Alright dad, I'll get there as soon as I can. Please. Tell Mom I'm coming, and that I love her too, okay?" After a moment, he hung up, calmly put his phone in his pocket, and then, almost acting on pure instinct, got behind The Daughter, and wrapped one of his arms around her chest, putting her in a body lock. With his free hand, he flattened he held his fingers out and together, and started to phase them.

Sticking his hand right on the inside of her throat, his eyes narrowed, and his voice turned cold. "Listen, and listen closely. You try to move, I will stop my hand, and you will die. You attack me, I will stop my hand, and you will die. You give me any answer that I think is bullshit, I will stop my hand, and you will die." With that last sentence, he tightened his grip a bit, before losing concentration, and getting his hand stuck, tearing her throat open. Thinking on his feet, he took his hand, and covered the cut with it, before continuing. "Sorry about that, my hand slipped. The good news is now you get to die when I remove my hand, the bad is, until I do, you're going to be choking to death on your own blood. So here's the deal." He said, his voice filled with malice.

"You're going to choke out whatever words you can, and tell me exactly how you know about my mother. You will tell me why you want me off the board, and you'll tell me who the fuck you are." He sneered, tightening his grasp on her throat. "Until you do, I will do everything in my power to make your death as painful as I possibly can. When I'm satisfied, one way or another, that's when you get to die. The only choice you have left in your life is if you want to die in pain and misery, or if you want it quick and easy." Oliver felt inhuman right now, in a way he never did before. These people knew about his mom, and if they had anything to do with her dying, he would burn every last one of them. "I am Thane, son of Thanos, and if that doesn't make you fear for everyone you ever knew or loved, then you're too stupid to be useful to me." Those words felt toxic in his mouth, but it was about the most intimidating thing he could conceive of.

Elizabeth looked with a kind of curiosity at the Goddess of Love and Oceans. She supposed this technically wasn't the first time she met a god, Thor was one after all, but it still felt weird. "Pleased to meet you, Like Carolina said, I'm Elizabeth. Newbie x-woman, and kicker of asses." She said, looking around their surroundings. The Jungle was just bound to be crawling with bugs, and that set her on edge. She was happy that her powers proved useful here though, makeshift weapons would be something she'd be working on in the future, it seemed like the most practical application of her powers in retrospect.

"Yeah, no offense, but your uncle is kind of a dick." She said, not at all liking the fact that they were stuck here, "That being said, I'm sure you're lovely, and we'd very much like to go to your jungle shelter please." She said. Meeting other gods, increasing their number, and having some kind of shelter all sounded wonderful. She had no idea how long they'd be in here, but however long it was, consolidating their resources seemed like the smart play. "Thanks for the assist, by the way, we'd be a lot worse off without your help, I'm sure."

Arthur nodded at Rebecca, glad he had managed to get the right ones. "I'm glad, I hope it feels better soon." He said meekly, as its jaw snapped. He gave the creature a look see, and stuck his hand out, seeing if he could help, but the creature snapped at him as well, and he quickly took several steps back. He wasn't about to lose a finger for this thing.

He looked over a rebecca, and quietly asked, "Um... Is it always like this?" He rubbed the back of his head, clearly distressed. "Like, killing things, people dying? It... it gets better right?" He almost wanted her to lie to him, and tell him that this was atypical, and that this sort of thing didn't happen often. But more than anything else, he wanted that lie to be true.

"I thought I said the world was ending." Beth said dryly. "I wasn't joking." She traced her fingers along the table, drawing out runes across the surface. "I'll show you what I saw, if you'd like." She offered, as her eyes opened once more, revealing their hollowed out shell. "Here, this was my vision." And before them, the surface of the table rippled and shimmered, before becoming like a moving painting, showing Elizabeth's dream from her perspective. A half face woman, Hel, sat on her throne, with Baldur in a cage at her side, "This is Eljudnir, Hel's base in Niflheim, and that caged figure is Baldur." she explained, as the table faded back.

"This is one of the signs of Ragnarok, you see." She explained, closing her eyelids once more, before continuing to say, "If my vision is to be believed, and it should be, then the end times are coming. All will burn, and the world will end." She said emotionlessly. She was too old, it felt like, to have been born so long ago, and live to see the end times. "We are all that stands between the world and the apocalypse, I don't know if fate can be changed, but it looks like that's our only option now." She sighed, rubbing her temples. "So, take your best guess as to how I'm feeling Arnora." She said, almost spitefully.
