Jacyln Kent
Watching Kalimay practically deflate as she approached her, Jack couldn't help but wonder to herself, 'Jeez, what I say? You'd almost think she doesn't like me.' The rapid change in Kay's outward bearing was unnerving to say the least, and even without talking her too much it was a noticeable change from a second before Jack had called out to the girl. Trying to return the polite smile and only really managing an awkwardly tighten her lips, Jack nodded and responded to Kay's congratulation "Yeah, thanks."
Right... That wasn't weird at all. She didn't think she'd done anything to deserve that sort of reaction, but maybe she'd forgotten something. She could be sort of blunt and sarcastic when she talked, and she skipped class enough that some students thought she was a delinquent, but nothing in particular stuck out in Jack's memory. 'Well, if she's got a problem with me, she can say it to my face. I'm not going to go out of my way without a good reason.'
Tirren at least didn't shrink back from her greeting, but the lack of recognition played across his face. He didn't remember her, and he seemed busy talking to the corporate princess. That was fine, Jack did skip a lot; it's not like everyone had to remember a couple dozen names after spending a few years in school together. That'd be expecting too much. When he reintroduced himself and joked about skipping curtsying, Jack remarked dryly that "That's disappointing." before she followed suit with introductions. Since there were plenty of people around that she didn't know, she didn't address anyone in particular. "I'm Jack Kent, I went to Signal."
Reya's reaction was the most encouraging of the three, she remembered her name and she was actually engaging in how she responded which made Jack grin widely. She even seemed genuine in her congratulations, which was a plus. Just generally sending out friendly vibes, which were almost enough to make Jack regret missing so many classes back at Signal. Bygones weren't something to dwell on though, she thought as the amphitheater doors loomed just a few meters ahead of the group.
