Guys, this part of my characters backstory is key to his character development, but I don't know if I should include it, because it isn't directly about him. Should I?
Madran has always looked back on the life of his father with great interest. His father, Dramyn, was a mighty warrior from a prosperous town in southern Morrowind. Dramyn lived alone in the town until he one day he found a Dunmer woman, Demith, and her daughter, who was a similar age to him, at his doorstep, pleading for shelter. The girl seemed oddly exotic; her name was Aurelsama, clearly not a Dunmer name, her eyes were silver, her hair was blonde and her skin was a bluey white - despite this, she was clearly Demith's daughter, the resemblance was uncanny, despite the difference in colour. Dramyn took them in gladly, always eager to help those in need.
After living with him for a few weeks, Demith revealed that she had put him in grave danger, and was full of regret. She explained that she had fled from her husband, Soliman, an Altmer who was a military general in the Aldmeri Dominion, that her husband was dangerous and that she had escaped with her daughter to give her a better life. Dramyn agreed to help protect Aurelsama, who he had taken to. Demith thanked him with all she could.
Years later, Aurelsama was unknowingly pregnant with Dramyn's son. It seemed that Demith and her daughter had settled in to Morrowind, with a new life. However, on one dark evening, news had came to the town that there were unknown forces attacking nearby village and that they were headed towards the town. Dramyn, a guard of the town, suited up and went to organize the defence of the town. Soon, Dramyn learned that the forces were Aldmeri, a small army nonetheless. Realizing that it may be Soliman's men, he rushed home and told Demith to flee with Aurelsama, to get her to safety and to break off all contact with him. Extremely reluctantly, they went.
Dramyn fought the Aldmeri with his comrades, but they tore the defences to shreds. Even a talented warrior like himself was easily beaten by their mages and warriors. They did not even bother killing all of the guards, and just walked straight through the town, searching every house, eventually reaching Dramyn's home. Soon later, they left without a trace.
Now directly safe from the Aldmeri threat, Dramyn set out to try and find Aurelsama. He searched for months, but to no avail. He searched across the Black Marsh, Cyrodiil, and eventually Elsweyr. He knew that if she had been seen, she would be a memorable face, due to the fact she was mixed race. He did not give up, and, after almost a year of searching for her, he eventually found a lead that sounded very convincing.
A local Khajiit buisnessman spoke of a woman, describing her just as Aurelsama looked. He found the home she was supposedly living, and instead, found Demith, alone. Despite not finding his love, he was extatic to find her mother. However, he was not so extatic after Demith told him of what had happened over the last few months. She explained that Aurelsama had been pregnant, she had had a son, named Madran, who she had lovingly raised for several months. However, on one fateful day, Soliman's men located her and took her away. Aurelsama had given Madran to Demith, hoping that Madran could grow up with a better life. Demith knew she would always be hunted by the Aldmeri, so she had given Madran to a young Khajiit couple who wished to raise a child but could not for one reason or another. Madran was almost a year old now.
Dramyn had just been hit by a bombshell, he took it in and accepted that, despite the fact he wished to go and find Aurelsama, his own child was more important, though. He met with the Khajiit couple and explained the situation, planning to ask if he could take the child back. When the family spoke to him, though, he changed his mind. He knew they would be much better parents than he could be, and he thanked them, asking only that he could regularly visit Dramyn, which they allowed.
For the next few years, Dramyn visited Madran and the Khajiit family. He grew to be a very close friend of Madran's adoptive father, Akh'lar. One day, when Madran was around five, Dramyn visited him and told him that he would be 'going away for a while'. He gave Madran his prized blades and some of his warpaint and left. Madran did not know where, but his adoptive parents later explained that it was because he was searching for Aurelsama.
He never returned.
Yeah, I know, tl;dr.
