May I ask what the main story hook would be, as well as what the characters are designed like?

You just did! The main story hook is in taking part of a civil conflict as civil war begins to break out across Hyrule with muddled morality and a lot of strange events cropping up-some posing very grim questions for the general populace's beliefs and understanding of myth and history. A lot of the pull is from mysterious regarding the truth of history and myth and dealing with the conflicts arising from different groups with different philosophies on force, the state and the proper role of each. A lot is initially in mysteries and unanswered questions and revealing much, specifically, of the main allure after that will be a spoiler.

As for the second part-what do you mean by, "What the characters are designed like", exactly? If you mean what sort of characters you will play... any character of not-too-high of a position or capability who has reason enough that they are already politically involved or at the tipping point to become so and have reason to be in Hyrule Castle City (as that is where it will begin, though not at all be restricted to) . The main available races will be Hyrulian, Kokiri, Goron, Zora, Korok, Rito, Gerudo, Sheikah, Twili, Boblin, Bokoblin, Moblin and Darknut.

For @Framing A Moose are you interested in any of these-or did you drop just to offer that?
@Framing A Moose ... oops. Haha, thank you. It has been a while since I wrote much outside of in online game roleplays, my writing is definitely rusty. That is part of why I am doing this, though ^^
No, entirely alright. Unfortunately, the original was entirely lost-the entire forum was deleted at the time and that was why it ended in the first place.

Those three characters will be present, although the nature of the part in the story will be vastly different from typical of Zelda (Link is not automatically the protagonist, for example) . The sages will be present-however, that and the nature of their role will play a large part in the story and the revealing of it is a significant plot point for later on.

Most of the games are semi-canonical. None of the games depict the history of the setting verbatim; rather, how the games presented the world is more of how the state and mainstream culture portrays the events, rather than how they actually were. The main influences are Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess with some elements taken from Wind Waker (although Hyrule was never turned into the Great Sea) . The cycle exists-however, there is some in-universe confusion over that as, according to the official church of Hyrule, the cycle has largely been completed, hence its status as an empirial superpower. This is taken as Hyrule having entered a golden age with a divine right to conquest.

The timeline is the one of Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess-although, again, the games are not exactly what actually took place.

For magic, most of it relies on enchanted items and relics, imbuing them with magical effects. Casters with outright spells-fireballs, summoning, weaving magic together by way of incantation, gesture and such are significantly rarer, although present enough (somewhere around 1-5% of the population in Hyrulian cities are proficient with low to average-level casting, for example) .
I want to get back into forum roleplay full-swing after a fairly long semi-hiatus. I have several roleplays in the works of which I will run one; however, I want to know what other people are interested in and will roleplay in. All of them will contain dark and mature elements and plots with character development being the primary focus. Which of the following, if any, are you interested in?

1: Distopic Zelda. Specifically, I will be restarting the well-received 'White Triforce' roleplay I was running on here several years ago and stopped after the site crashed and everything was lost.
In overly shortened summary, it has been over a millenia since the events of Ocarina of Time. Hyrule has risen up to become the largest empire in the world through violent, self-righteous conquest. Magic suffuses everyday life and created a disconnected populace, the parlimentary system is corrupt, the Royal Family is absent and the guerilla warfare with a rebel movement is brewing larger and larger. Civil war seems to loom on the horizon. Think Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess with a Code Geass/Berserk-like storyline.

2: Character-Focused VR MMORPG Trap. This is an undeveloped as-of-yet idea of mine that I have wanted to do for a long time-a virtual reality mmorpg trap such as .hack or Sword Art Online focused with a particular focus on characters and the experience of what comes with that-the threat of death, dealing with people dying and the strange combination of a supposedly fun game with mortal stakes and so on.

3: Modern Supernatural/Superpower War/Tournament. People across the world start discovering strange abilities. Society has started to fracture due to some abusing these abilities and many wanting to take violent precautions to the threat such people present. Meanwhile, they are not safe even from each other as each can grow stronger by killing and absorbing strength from others with such abilities, nevermind their other littany of conflicting interests and issues. A strong focus here will be on characters connecting and/or quarreling, much akin to the first season of the TV series Heroes. This may involve/come to work around a fighting game-like (Mortal Kombat, Tekken, Soul Calibur) tournament hosted by someone pulling strings. Take Heroes (season 1) and add in a fighting game atmosphere among the player characters and a Watchman-like atmosphere among the general world.
The setting does not draw much from Skyward and robots do not really suit the atmosphere :/

I may or may not join-and yet another vote for the Dusk setting.
Posted, Beinn Nibbles has.
Uriel clenched his lower lip between his teeth as Lucius pulled him to the side. Loathe as he was to admit it, he had indeed gone too far in the situation. While her brazen invasion was a breach to him, his returned hostility was not helping... as usual. The most unwelcome image of a moment long ago when his teacher stared him down for the same sort of behavior flashed in his mind-bringing with it a litany of emotions. Rage, resentment, loss, sorrow... and, damned-be-it, shame. After a moment, he released an gritted exhale and, with a look to Lucius first, turned towards the Councilor again.

"... my apologies for my hostility, madame. People inquiring after and seeking information on me is usually representative of a serious danger to me. That, given with your openly voiced suspicion..." he exhaled again, visibly uncomfortable as he repeatedly catches and stops himself from gritting his teeth-yet with an adamant expression even so. "... however, my response was untoward. Again, I apologize. To be clear, while I realize that my word alone offers little assurance in these circumstances, I am of no danger to you or yours-rather, are allied to-so long as you are not to myself, Lucius or our mission here."

As he finished, Ona's words caught his senses in the pause. An underground vault not in the Palais? He swallowed and coughed lightly while a pensive and worried weight bared down on his brow as he turned his attention to the seeress and the possible implications.

Conqvist was not in the Palais? Then where was he? Uriel had only hours at most left now and he had left scant instruction as to how what he was supposed to do more specifically to find that bastard's method of preservation. Was he in or near this supposed vault? No, Ona should have seen him if she saw the vault. Increasingly panicked thoughts ran through his mind while he struggled to maintain a stoic face with moderate success.

As Ona finished, he swallowed dryly. "... elemental? Can you describe it in more detail?" he asked with the slight break of fear at the end, he bead of sweat running down his temple the only significant hint to his rising desperation save one read well his eyes. Could this font of elemental magic be related to what was supposed to enable his survival? Could he perhaps ascertain the remedy from it himself-or, if it was a person, with their aid?
...

was

awesome.
