Well, for mutual survival. The idea was that the races momentarily put aside their differences so that they could gather enough great mages to open the portals in the first place. Howeveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer,If it is really incompatible, then you could mention that perhaps your race stormed one of the complexes being used to create the portals, slaughtered or drove off those who were waiting to walk through, and hijacked it?

Ah, no. I just had a minor panic attack thinking that we'd have to remember all of the information presented to us here. If most of it is for your benefit then I don't think we'd need a condensed version of it all.

I don't think he's specified. Standard sci-fi tech applies as far as I know. Don't use my NS as a template, i'm doing this to myself on purpose as i'm playing a native faction. ;)

Dacyirii

The Dacyirii are an unusual race of natives, the most prominent life form on their home planet which serves as their namesake: Dacyira. They resemble ferocious, sentient, saurian lizards that are capable of moving bipedally or quadrupedally. Their technology and culture is far surpassed in complexity by the colonies and corporations that have come to claim their home as their own, still utilising swords and bows, steeds and wooden structures.
They are widespread throughout Dacyira, though their spiritual and cultural home is centred on the [REDACTED. awaiting on map of the planet before I detail this]. Many of the Dacyirii consider this area of the world as the cradle that nurtured and supported their far off ancestors, and is said to contain the spirits of all lost brethren in some capacity or another. They are an incredibly spiritual species, drawing strength from the prospect of glory and ancestry; even finding the courage within themselves to combat the invaders from the sky. This is usually an unsuccessful endeavour, but they continue to valiantly defend their birthrite with ferocity that few can match.
A Dacyirii is a monstrous creature to behold indeed, they stand on average between 9-10’ high, and often 15-20’ long, and are capable of moving at terrifying speeds and displaying physical strength that far outmatches that of any human. This is balanced by their obviously inferior technological state; but they are still a force to be reckoned with, especially fighting on their home turf. They are highly creative and will utilise Guerrilla tactics to fend off invaders.

There are many tribes of Dacyirii, including tribes of the Sea, the Forest, The Desert, The Swamp and the Plains, but I will be focusing and playing ReodeLiki (Ray-oo-deh Lee-kuul), The Mountain Tribe. (Roughly translates to ‘Mountain of the Beast)

UreReode (Yuh-Ray Ray-oo-deh), The Mountain King, holds precedence over all Dacyirii in the Mountain Tribe, leading through a mixture of ferocity and philanthropy, holding the respect of all his peers for his generosity and spiritual guidance, but also because of his peerless combat skill. Since the Fragiles from the Sky descended, he is said to have killed over 300 by himself, with many skulls for show to demonstrate such a claim. He is the most radical of all Dacyirii leaders in terms of wishing to free their home world from the influence of the Fragiles from the Sky. He will stop at nothing to see Dacyira liberated.

Military/Civilian Assets:
No guns, or powered armour or vehicles. The Dacyirii still use Iron Age Technology.
-Swords built from nigh on indestructible Thuikl wood, lined with shards of brutally sharp Dacyirian obsidian. Capable of tearing through trees like a chainsaw. Can tear through most armour given enough time.
-Bows built from an elastically treated form of Thuikl wood with strings made from flayed material of the same origin. The arrows are tipped with obsidian and lined with neurotoxins found in the bellies of the frightening Coastal Lurkers, a species of bird with some of the most potent known venom in the galaxy.
-Armor exists, but is made of stone, bone and wood. Negligible against modern weapons.
-Dacyirii ride several bests into battle, including the titanic Dacyiriaus, the banshee-like Doocyria and ferocious feline-like killer, the Iriasis.
