This RP is based around the Titanfall (2) game, but you don't need to have played it to understand it. Just know it's a military Mech RP set in space, but not fully focused on the Mechs alone.

In the Frontier, a part of newly discovered space far away from Earth, humans do what they usually do when they differ about opinions: they fight. The IMC came to the Frontier, wanting to use the new resources and discoveries to make 'progress for humanity' as they called it. This also meant taking land and belongings of already settled people on the Frontier's planets, and those who refused or fought back were 'appropriately dealt with'. The people couldn't accept this and because of that joined together to form the Frontier Militia. 

In the beginning they were heavily disadvantaged, as the IMC had their Titans while the Frontier Militia was unable to produce anything like it, so they had to rely on anti-Titan weaponry. However, at a point during the war, the Militia managed to acquire Titans somehow. First they used to steal Titans straight from the production lines, but the Militia is now also able to make their own Titan chassis: the Vanguards. Pilots, either trained or defected from the other side, were now battling at both sides of the war.

These two sides battle for power over the frontier, each for their own reasons. The sides are divided into 3 groups each, and all have a certain history and mindset.
ARES Division:
"We shall restore order by superior force!"
This main division of the IMC, led by General Marder himself, is put together from mercenaries employed to "seek emergent technologies" to finish the IMC's war with the Militia, as it is the obstacle to humanity's evolution on the Frontier. Why they employ mercenaries instead of actual soldiers? To minimize IMC losses.
ARES Division mercenaries generally value order and progress.
Anatoly Loginov

Apex Predators:
"You kill me, you're better. I kill you, I'm better."
Known as the one of the most ruthless mercenary units on the Frontier, the Apex Predators are led by the infamous Kuben Blisk. Blisk actually doesn't care which side he fights for: As long as the paycheck's good, he'll get the job done.
Apex Predators generally value strength and profit.
Arik Gantz

Vinson Dynamics:
"Focus. Fight. Win."
Vinson Dynamics is one of the main industrial and scientific branches of the IMC. This group is led by the robot Ash, who seeks knowledge for whatever the cost. She also is kinda sadistic, so if this means 'testing' some 'subjects' by putting them in one room with a few hostile alien animals, so be it.
Vinson Dynamics Pilots generally value intelligence and wit.

Marauder Corps:
"The Frontier is worth every part of this fight!"
Led by Commander Sarah Brigs, the SRS' Marauder Corps are a few of the best Pilots in the Frontier. She grew up an orphan in these parts, and now dedicates her life to building a future free from IMC control. The Frontier is her home and the Militia is her family.
The Marauder Corps Pilots generally value dedication and loyalty.

Angel City Elite:
"Hey, care for some moonshine?"
Led by ex-IMC officer Barker, he and his Angel City Elites, also known as ACES, seek answers to mysteries within the frontier. Although officially independent, they believe in the Militia's cause and support them. Barker himself now layed his loyalty mostly with a bottle of moonshine.
ACES generally value independence and freedom.

The 6-4:
"The 6-4 is a family, and we'll kick your arse!"
Gates is the section commander of this freelance unit of elite Pilots. They follow an unique code of honor: they won't always work for the highest bidder. They want to protect the freedom of the Frontier, but on their own terms.
The 6-4 Pilots generally value courage and skill.
Rylei Xandre

Pilots can choose 1 primary, 1 pistol and 1 anti-Titan weapon or 2 pistols and 1 anti-Titan.
R-201 Carbine

Full-auto and high accuracy. The R-201 Carbine is an advanced rifle typically issued to both regular forces and Pilots on the battlefield. It lacks somewhat in range and stopping power at range, but it more than makes up for this in steady grouping even at distance and high rate of fire. This makes it a very formidable weapon indeed. 

R-101C Carbine

Factory issue scoped predecessor of the R-201 rifle. It has the same advantages of the R-201, but is for people who like more 'old-school' weaponry.

Hemlok BF-R

The factory issue Hemlock fires a three-round burst. While it doesn't put as many rounds down range as other weapons, it is perhaps a better use of those rounds due to the Hemlock's higher accuracy and relative range.

G2A5

The G2A5 is a semi-automatic rifle with good range, accuracy and damage.

V-47 Flatline

The V-47 Flatline is a Pilot anti-personnel fully automatic bullpup assault rifle that appears in Titanfall 2. The thing that makes this weapon unique is that it's recoil is horizontally instead of verticly.

CAR

Consistent recoil SMG. The CAR is a very powerful weapon but you need to get close to your enemy for the weapon to truly be effective.

Alternator

Twin Barrel SMG.

Energy actuated SMG. 

R-97

Rapid fire SMG. The R-97 Compact SMG is a compact submachine gun that excels at close-quarters combat, due to its extremely high rate of fire and minimal recoil.

Spitfire

Steady fire rate with a punch.

L-Star

Rapid fire energy LMG. This weapon is excellent when it comes to mid range battles.

skilless weapon X-55 Devotion

Starting slow, this weapon ramps up its fire rate over time.

Kraber-AP Sniper

Scoped heavy rifle. What it lacks in firerate it makes up for in firepower and range.

Double Take

Twin-fire sniper rifle.

Longbow-DMR

Semi-auto sniper. It has no bullet drop whatshowever, but lacks firepower.

EVA-8 Auto

The EVA-8 is a semi-automatic shotgun. It was originally designed for extra-vehicular activity, both in conventional and in exo-atmospheric conditions. 

Mastiff

Auto-loading shotgun with wide horizontal spread.

Sidewinder SMR

Rapidly fires micro-missiles.

EPG-1

Single fire, direct energy propelled launcher. 

R-6P Softball

Adhesive grenade launcher. A grenade launcher equally effective against both Titans and Pilots. 

EM-4 Cold War

4-round burst Grenadier weapon. While this weapon is somewhat effective in Pilot to Titan engagements (or at least as effective as such a weapon can be), it is highly useful for continuing fire to tamp down the enemy. Laying down heavy four round fire can clear an area just as much as make it hard to pass for the enemy.

These gadgets help the Pilots in infantry combat. 

Cloak:
Become almost invisible, although when carefully looking you can still be spotted.

Pulse Blade:
Expose enemies through all surfaces with this sonar pulse-emitting throwing knife (could also be used to just throw into an enemy's body). Enemy pilots will notice they are getting spotted though.

Grapple:
A Grappling Hook for various uses.

Stim:
Quickly heals and boosts your speed for a short time.

A-Wall*:
Pilot sized particle shield that amps outgoing shots (placed on the ground in front of you and covers about an 100 degree angle).

Phase Shift:
Teleports into an alternate space for a short time (simultanious users will be able to see you though).

Holo Pilot:
Create a holographic copy of yourself that uses basic actions.

*Combine A-Wall with the X-55 Devotion and a SA-3 Mozambique and you get instantly banned. (Seriously though, don't do it unless you want everyone to hate you, including your own team)

Titans are mech-style robots designed for both civilian and military applications. They are used for a variety of tasks, such as but not limited to agriculture, logistics and warfare. They are mainly manufactured by Hammond Robotics, who are allied with the IMC. They are controlled through a neural link with their Pilot, and because of this can only be used by someone who's control has been transfered to by the last linked Pilot. This also means it isn't unlikely for Pilot and Titan to develop a bond of some kind, as they are literally linked on a brain-wave level.

Normally a Titan follows the following protocols:

Protocol 1: Link to Pilot - except find a new suitable Pilot.
Protocol 2: Uphold the Mission - a Titan will almost always listen to their mission's objective.
Protocol 3: Protect the Pilot - a Titan will literally protect the Pilot with its life, doesn't matter if the Pilot wants it or not.

Vanguards are basicly the types like BT-7274 (the main Titan of the Titanfall 2 Campaign). BE WARNED: Vanguards are HIGHLY strong and adaptable, and I was considering to not let them be in the RP because of this, but they are just too iconic to let them out. So I decided on nerfing them. A LOT. 

The Vanguards in the RP are going to be just like normal Atlas types, meaning they will have medium armor and mobility and NOT the crazy mobility of a Stryder combined with the armor of an Ogre. On top of that, they will only be able to use the 'Expedition Loadout', meaning a 20mm armor piercing automatic rifle, a multi target lock-on missile system, a vortex shield, an extra electrical smoke and the 'burst core', that will let the Vanguard automaticly fire a stream of amped bullets. 

I'm doing this for the sake of fairness, diversity and the enjoyment of the RP, because otherwise everyone would pick a Vanguard. Also keep in mind that unless your character either defected or somehow stole a Vanguard, they are only given to the elite Pilots in the Frontier Militia (because of lore).

Frin looked Charles in the eyes. He seemed honest, and with the same intentions as him. He seemed nice as well. "Guess you are right." He said, smiling back at him while shaking his hand. Then, out of all the possible people to have as their first teacher, All Might himself came in. The number one Pro Hero was going to teach them!? Even if it was temporarily, it felt like a great honor. Not only because he was so famous and strong, but also since he was one of his main examples. He risked his life multiple times to save multiple people in need. If he becomes a Pro- no, WHEN he becomes a Pro, Frin wants to have that same courage and dedication to protect others.

As All Might told them to gather in the courtyard, everyone started going to that place. Following All Might would be impossible with his remarkable speed, so everyone went at their own pace. "Lets go, Charles!" Frin said, then went out the door without waiting for him. Some time later, he noticed a girl from his class heading to the courtyard, but she stood out for multiple reasons. One was because she had scales all over her body, but that didn't bother Frin much. 

The main reason she stood out was because of her stance. When she joined up with the rest of the class, she seemed to take on a normal one again, but while heading towards the group, she lagged behind and seemed a bit out of it, like she was nervous for some reason. Even though everyone else was exited to be working with All Might, she didn't seem to be. As he arrived at the courtyard, he stood next to her. "Are you okay? You look a bit nervous." He said towards her with a cool voice while still looking in All Might's direction. He didn't want to sound as if she was helpless, as he knew that wasn't the case. Not if she got accepted at UA.
