No worries, I'm pretty sure I'm still way behind in the friend race. <3
Lilith was walking to her hotel when she got Aleks’ message. She couldn’t help but smile softly to herself as she responded, her mood still someone euphoric from her meal.

[4:31 I would love to meet up for a drink. Give me a couple hours to freshen up. I’ll be in the lobby of the Demidov Bridge Hotel at 6:30.]

Frowning a bit, the kumiho wondered if she should have moved to a nicer hotel for their meeting. The Demidov Bridge Hotel was rather low-key, the entrance nothing more than a red metal door with a small plaque beside it. The entire façade of the building was covered in rectangular patches of varying colors- a clear sign that vandals frequented the area. The hotel looked completely uninviting from the outside and the Lilith, in her luxurious clothing, looked distinctly out of place as she walked inside.
Sighing softly, the golden-eyed woman looked around the lobby. Although modest, the interior of the hotel was decidedly nicer than the outside. There was a small desk on the right side for the receptionist and small tables designed for 2-4 people occupied the rest of the small space. It was clean and cozy, like a misplaced bed and breakfast. Her lips were pursed slightly in judgment, but it was too late to switch hotels now.

“Welcome back, ma’am.” Lilith turned her head to face the elder woman at the desk and nodded slightly, clearly still lost in her thoughts. The woman seemed concerned and cautiously asked if everything was alright. Suddenly, the fox spirit felt very conscious of the blood-soaked dress she wore beneath the white coat- a terrible color to try and hide beneath. Inspecting herself for any signs of blood, Lilith muttered, “I’m fine” before retreating upstairs.

Once inside her room, Lilith quickly shed her clothes and dropped them into the trash to be thrown away later. Turning on the shower, the bathroom slowly began to fill with steam as she went through her wardrobe for an outfit.

~*~*~*~*~*~

Two hours later, and the beautiful fox spirit sat at one of the tables in the lobby area, a cup of tea nestled between her delicately laced fingers. The black and white snake print dress she wore was more modest than her usual attire, but still flattered her figure. Her hair was pinned back into a bun, revealing soft cheekbones and a clearer view of her golden eyes.

The older woman still sat at the desk, her warm brown eyes gazing at Lilith curiously. In the week that she had been here, the woman had never seen Lilith linger around the hotel this much and she certainly had never seen the beautiful woman interact with anyone unless necessary. The fact that the mysterious patron appeared to be waiting on someone made the gray-haired woman’s mind race with possibilities. It has to be a suitor. I bet he’s quite handsome too.
Sky couldn’t help but be a bit pleased with herself as Mrs. Burnoise inspected the lab. Miss Donahue knew the woman would not find any dust on the machines, no matter how many she checked. Still, it was a good thing Nathan was being so protective considering somewhere in the lab, Simon was hiding. They couldn’t afford to have Mrs. Burnoise looking too closely, no matter how proud Sky was of her work. The older woman paid her a slight compliment, but immediately segued into a question that sounded dangerously like a challenge. Taking a sip of her own coffee to hide a scowl, Skylar mulled over an appropriate response. Deciding to play dumb, she tilted her head slightly, “I’m not sure I understand.”

“Oh come now, as if it isn’t obvious. You’ve done a good bit of work on the lab, I’ll admit, but Nathan is still far from being an eligible bachelor.” Choking on her coffee, Sky took an incredulous step back, “Oh, I…. I thought that was a joke. I’m here to help Dr. Burnoise with his research not-”

“Don’t be foolish, Skylar, as if Nathanael needs help to spend even more time in this warehouse. That was just a cover so he’d let you in. Surely by now you’ve realized how paranoid he is.”

“But what about my reference for grad school?” Sky looked over at Nathan, her eyebrows knit with worry. She didn’t want him to lose this experience because the young scientist mistakenly believed her to be a conspirator. The lab assistant was certain she would have to prove her innocence later and hoped Nathan would listen to reason long enough to believe her.

“No need to worry about that, sweetie. I’ll take care of all that.” Mrs. Burnoise waved her hand dismissively, as if the subject was hardly an issue. Sky, still unsure, waited for Dr. Burnoise to say something as she looked at him expectantly.
Oh my gosh, I left my laptop at a friend's house so I haven't been able to get on for a few days. >.< I am so sorry! I'll try and have one up by tomorrow.
Hahahaha! The wedding is for Kyle's sister. She's been married for 3 years but she's finally having a ceremony.

But sounds good. I look forward to coming back to a post. :)
Wow, I only just saw this. >.< Well, I guess I'll start that up next post because I don't think I have time to edit my newest one. Have work tonight and then I'll be gone for the weekend for a wedding. Well, I guess if you want to wait so I can edit the post that works, but it's up to you.
Lol Well we can talk about it together sometime later if you want. Seeing as I'll probably be MIA for a couple days because of the wedding, I don't mind if the RP goes on hiatus for a bit.
I was just mentioning those cars to imply that police were already on the scene. Didn't intend to do anything with them but if you would like to that's fine (maybe for Volgin? I dunno how fast you wanted him to respond). I honestly have no plans for what's going to happen next. I was hoping you already had if figured out. >.>
Glancing back to make sure the lab appeared Simon-free, Sky finally stepped back to allow the door to be fully opened. Rubbing the back of her head, she laughed lightly at Mrs. Burnoise’s question, “Not quite. Oh, will you be long? Let me go make some coffee!” The young assistant began walking over to the desk station, still speaking with the older woman over her shoulder, “I imagine the place looks a little different since you last saw it. Doctor, why don’t you show her around a bit? I’ll be just a moment.” Sky hummed softly to herself as she scooped the coffee, trying to appear nonchalant despite her nervousness. She kept peering out the corner of her eye for any signs that something was wrong. They’d had two unexpected visitors in one morning and now had to carefully dance one around the other without raising any suspicion. Where had Simon gone, anyway? Sky heard mention of some hiding machine, but wasn't able to watch where the young boy had gone.

Once the coffee machine was brewing, the brown-haired assistant walked back to Nathan and his mother, a warm smile on her lips. She carefully positioned herself between both members of the Burnoise family, sensing the obvious tension between them. Skylar didn't want to appear to take sides and she was now well positioned to break up any potential confrontation. Miss Donahue wanted this to go well to demonstrate what a good choice she was, but also to get the elderly woman out as soon as possible. Her mind was still reeling over Simon’s arrival and she had lots of questions she wanted to ask the boy. And no matter how many times Sky told herself it was none of her business, she couldn't help but wonder who was Simon's grandmother. Who in the world would possibly be interested in marrying Dr. Burnoise?
Oh my goodness, that took me like, 5 hours of unfocused writing. -_____- But it's done! Hopefully we can go back to interacting soon. XD
