I don't know how much caffeine I've just injested and I'm pretty sure it was all a mistake.

Linus's mouth dropped open slightly in absolute shock and disgust. Callie had come storming out of the kitchen, and instead of offering console to the child whom her colleagues had kidnapped, she stood up in defense of the girl. Over the course of her lecture, she insinuated that Abigale had "suffered more" than Linus, even though she clearly had no idea where Linus was from and what had happened to land him on the streets. She then went on to assert that Linus should cut Abigale slack for being a child, even though Linus was only five or six years older at most and a child himself by anyone's book. She then threatened him with "going dark side" if he didn't start believing and trusting people who bloody kidnapped him. She topped it all off by calling him ignorant.

The whole thing was surreal, really. He couldn't believe that an adult would be so ignorant (for lack of better terms) of why a child might not be keen on being kidnapped, talked down to by a peer, and treated as if he should have known all this magic business that he hadn't grown up with. He was taken aback, more than anything. More than a bit upset and perhaps a little frightened, but mostly just completely and utterly floored by Callie's complete lack of understanding.

"...Well." He choked out after a long silence. "T-thank you for that charming display of the white side of witchery. I think... all my questions have been duly answered. With all due respect, I'd absolutely love to see what the dark side has to offer." He forced a wide grin, backing off towards the door. "Good day, chaps... and for the record, Magnus, I appreciate your efforts to help. But I really must decline." And with that, the witch child pivoted around and sprinted out the door like a bat out of Hell.

Thanks! I'll put it up in the CS tab. I should be done with the personality soon. Still not sure exactly where I want to go with that.

"What, you think I'm going to feel bad for you after you talked down to me and called me stupid?" Linus scoffed, forcing down a laugh. "Where do you think I grew up? Where do you think my parents are? You think YOU had to fight for survival? You've had your dear old daddy holding your hand the whole way. Never lived a day alone in your life, I can tell." He grinned wryly, stepping forwards to stare at her as if she were a dead animal. He really had no sympathy for the little girl, but then again he barely knew what sympathy was. He couldn't really recognize when people had good intentions. And good as Abigale's intentions may be, truth be told Linus thought she was the most arrogant person he'd ever met.

"You've got no excuse, girlie. You've got your head so far up your own arse you can chew your food again on the way down! You chastise me for being wary of people who kidnapped me, you ignore me when I ask not to be touched, you call me stupid and then you try to pull the guilt card. It's enough to make me sick, really. He turned away after that, biting into his lower lip. He was feeling the effects of nicotine withdrawal start to sink back in, but he didn't pick up the charms. He didn't want to rely on someone who hadn't even properly explained herself yet.

"Well, you weren't doing a very good job of it! If you really wanted to be my friend, you would have treated me with an ounce of human respect and decency!" Linus snapped at Abigale. He was getting more than sick of her self-righteous attitude. He raised a hand to strike her, but then Magnus spoke up and Abigale ran over to him. What Magnus said actually cleared some things up. Again, he wasn't sure why Callie didn't just come forward and say this herself, but it did kind of make sense now. Maybe magic wasn't something the outside world was equipped to deal with, and it would be better if he stayed with his kind, so to speak.

"Finally, someone decides to answer my questions. What took you so long, mate?" Linus said, sounding a lot calmer than he had been even under the effect of the charms. He even smiled a little, though it faded back into a glare when he saw Abigale glance at him. He was really starting not to like the little girl. She acted like she was smarter than he was, and he found that intensely aggravating. Especially since nothing she had said made any sense. He still kept his distance from everyone else, especially Abigale, since she had made it quite clear that she didn't care that he was uncomfortable with physical contact.
Oh shit, I didn't know.
Not sure how that's gonna work with my schedule.
Well, I'll see what I can do. If it doesn't work out, no worries.
I'm interested. I'm going to sleep soon, but tomorrow I'll see if I can get a CS up.

Linus immediately shoved her off of him when she threw her arms around him. "Didn't I just say not to touch me!?" He snarled, taking several steps back to widen the distance between the two of them. Clearly, this girl didn't give a damn about his boundaries. The more the little girl argued, the more irate Linus got. So far Callie had yet to speak for herself, but everyone was telling him to believe Callie. Not the kind of situation he wanted to stay in. "So far you've given me exactly zero reasons to believe anything you say. What does your dead mum have to do with how you know I'm magic? Why'd you even bring that up? Honestly, you talk all smart, but really you're just as daft as the rest of your lot. And you're bloody five! What makes you think I should listen to you? Damn, I'm twice your age!"

Still, he didn't seem to be trying to leave just yet. Their motives for wanting him here were suspicious at best, so he wasn't wrong to be worried that they might go to drastic measures if he tried to escape. He placed the charms down, feeling that regardless of what they were, it wasn't a good idea to take them. He didn't want to owe anything to Callie before he found out what she was really up to.

"You're all daft. Every last one of you." He hissed, eyeing the room in a mix of fear and menace. Hopefully this would be resolved soon, or else he'd have to figure out the real extent of his supposed magic powers...

"You think you're real smart, aye?" Linus snapped, becoming increasingly irate with everyone's assumption that he should be perfectly alright with being kidnapped and not ask any questions. "I don't think this has occurred to you, but I don't bloody know this Callie girl. I've been given no reasons to trust her. All I know is that I've been carted off to her place with no explanation and she's given me some magic pieces of wood. You think I should be kissing her arse? He scoffed, twirling the charms around in his hand. He wasn't even sure exactly what they did, but they seemed to be keeping him calmer than he otherwise would have been. Even though that was technically a good thing, he was still convinced that it was some kind of bribe or something.

"And why's everyone telling me that I'm magic? I mean, it's odd that you all know this and I don't. I'm not saying I'd be surprised if I was, I'm just a bit suspicious of how much you lot already know about me, that's all." He fell silent, watching the people in the room out of the corners of his eyes. None of them had given him a good explanation for what was happening. Even if what they said was true, that they just wanted to give him a place to stay out of the goodness of their hearts, that was a bit creepy to say the least. And misguided. Besides, he was still waiting on an explanation from Callie herself. It seemed that she'd organized this; at least that was how everyone else was making it sound.
