Linus's mouth dropped open slightly in absolute shock and disgust. Callie had come storming out of the kitchen, and instead of offering console to the child whom her colleagues had kidnapped, she stood up in defense of the girl. Over the course of her lecture, she insinuated that Abigale had "suffered more" than Linus, even though she clearly had no idea where Linus was from and what had happened to land him on the streets. She then went on to assert that Linus should cut Abigale slack for being a child, even though Linus was only five or six years older at most and a child himself by anyone's book. She then threatened him with "going dark side" if he didn't start believing and trusting people who bloody kidnapped him. She topped it all off by calling him ignorant.
The whole thing was surreal, really. He couldn't believe that an adult would be so ignorant (for lack of better terms) of why a child might not be keen on being kidnapped, talked down to by a peer, and treated as if he should have known all this magic business that he hadn't grown up with. He was taken aback, more than anything. More than a bit upset and perhaps a little frightened, but mostly just completely and utterly floored by Callie's complete lack of understanding.
"...Well." He choked out after a long silence. "T-thank you for that charming display of the white side of witchery. I think... all my questions have been duly answered. With all due respect, I'd absolutely love to see what the dark side has to offer." He forced a wide grin, backing off towards the door. "Good day, chaps... and for the record, Magnus, I appreciate your efforts to help. But I really must decline." And with that, the witch child pivoted around and sprinted out the door like a bat out of Hell.
