Guardsmen diversify and get a more options later. SoB is basically 'how can I shoot this/decide if it is a heretic/be a nun' from start to finish--whilst also relying more on armour, because Dodge isn't available until Rank 3, and Sound Constitution is expensive. There is also the hidden benefit of not being everyone's first target.

Ya, it mostly seems once I hit rank 6... I am sorry I forgot I was playing 40k, IF I hit rank 6 I might see where the edge is for guardsmen with versatility.
I can get WS cheaper by 1 step but that look to be it. I cannot even get bolt weapons until rank 4 and she can get weapon training advances for like everything at rank 1, with a few at rank 2. For the most part our advances are similar with the same cost though she gets a larger variety of support based stuff it seems and I get a few later than her.
What other stuff?

And ya, it does seem I am now the chauffeur.
*realizes he is woefully undergunner, underarmored, and understatted.*
So, Ollum and I along with others occasionally have been talking about our first planned job with Fallenmuse in IRC. Chinaworth offers as much as 500gp for high risk cargo runs and we felt that was the best first job if we can get something along those lines.

We have yet to agree on our next job but basically we either do 2-3 Chinaworth jobs and get 1.5-2k GP to outfit for serious combat, or we take our 500gp outfit enough for our current level and do a job for Ashur who will pay about 200gp for pirates with a ship similar to ours, pay for repairs, and we get the pirate ship we take with all cargo onboard. If we capture a ship of the same size as our own they cost barebones new 7,000 GP so we can be assured like 3,000 GP if we make our 2nd job an Ashur one with free repairs.

What does everyone else think?

As a warning, if psykers show up, they're using the Rogue Trader/Black Crusade (possibly Deathwatch?) rules rather than Dark Heresy's. Because a ruleset that would have Eldar Farseers and the Emperor spawn demonic armies whenever they did anything is AWESOME at the absolute best.

You made a typo there, but do not worry, I fixed it for you.
Valeas was quite confused at the proceedings as they went on. He stood apart from the others bare to the waist as he usually was having been informed he was required to wear pants in this city he had fashioned his bandoleer and ropes in a satisfactory fashion. Now directly behind Naevys whom he had recognized earlier and followed this way it struck him as the others talked where he remembered the old man from. He was a bit older looking now but as usual Valeas had forgotten the ways humans age so rapidly. The old man was the captain whom he had secured passage with to leave his fellow iskar and try to find what had happened with Naevys. It had been a fun time sailing with the human, he had taught him how to climb ropes as if they were trees, to use a pistol, to secure resources for travel and various other things of the outside world. He had been a good man and Valeas had thanked Jayros for setting him on his path to sail under him for surely Jayros approved of men such as Ragbeard as he had called himself.

As always Jayros had greatly blessed Valeas granting him both a stake in this vessel as well as at last allowing him to find his old friend Naevys for despite her strange clothing and distinctly human mannerisms he knew no other like her and thus it could only be her and as such silently thanked Jayros for aiding him once more. Such blessings must be given true thanks by following Jayros's true teachings ever more. As Jayros was first deity to the Iskar it was clear that he intended an iskar to captain this ship for there could be little reason besides such that he would be here not at this specific moment.

Bellowing out in his traitional manner he cast his vote, "As I am here now it must be the will of Jayros that Naevys be captain of this ship and therefore I cast my vote for her. She clearly knows information in regards to vessels and travels among you non-Iskar for long enough she no doubt now knows your ways well enough to be captain."

His argument done, he thanked Jayros in his mind once more and stood there arms crossed over his bare chest once again.
