Ok, so as of right now 11 people have shown interest. This is a role call, please tell me if you're still interested!

Also, there will be a delay in posting the OOC, so you have until it's posted, 2-3 days, to say you're in. I won't save spots after posting the OOC unless you verify in the Interest Check you want in still. I'm not sure if a much larger group will work, so I'll probably limit it at 10-15 people(I hope that still isn't to many....)

Those who verify will get first dibs on spots. If the roleplay does take off I'll probably re-open admission.
I'm typing up the OOC now.
@VocabI tried googling the comparison and just got confused because all I got was grade conversions. But if year 11-13 is roughly 15 or 16 through 18, in ages. Then yes it is.

Also, any spelling or word/name differences between us are fine. Such as how we call the trunk of a car, trunk, and you call it the boot. (I think that's the UK as well....)

TO EVERYONE

I am thinking of calling the school "Education Center for Advanced Youths" ECAY! Show your school spirit guys :)
@Vocab Yes there are years/grades, and it follows the American system. 10th (and advanced 9th grade students) through 12th grade. Students ages 18 through 21 have the option of delaying graduation for more advanced training in their skills, they are also allowed to live off campus. The reasoning I used for this is basically, some abilities can take years to get under control, or a character was a late bloomer and developed after traditional expectations. There's also the fact that the government would definitely want to recruit directly from this pool of candidates. That may or may not play a part in later stages of the role play.

Also, the reason they're allowed to live off campus is to show they are capable of fitting into "normal" society.
Part of that is dependent on the players themselves. I like show casing the development of abilities, but drama is always a nice fun twist. The age range for students is 15-21, and that is pretty much the requisite age for drama. But like I said, there's room for variables, if a player decides to play for drama, awesome. If that isn't their goal, awesome. I personally planned out the serious shit, so that means all I care about being set in stone is specific scenes, beyond that, it's kind of a free for all.@Legion02

I am happy to have a large variety, but I might draw the line at a seven headed demon from the ninth circle of hell. The characters would have to make sense for agreeing to attend this school. While the school is not optional, if you start out super powerful and as a type of being who wouldn't naturally agree to this, how did you get stuck in the school in the first place? @Vocab
@Doc DoctorYaaaaaay! I'm excited to pit our characters against each other, even if Joey won't forgive me for it :p
True, that adds an interesting idea as well.

So some facts, this is not the only school like this, so the rumors may not be pinpointed on this area necessarily. But I'm not sure, certainly an area that's a center for Metahumans would have an interesting effect on the outside area as well.
Hello! :)

I'm posting to gain experience with arena or fighting/battling styled roleplay. I'll post the character sheet for the proposed character at the end of my post. Now I do have a few years experience with role playing, and a little bit of that was spent with battles, so I know something about battling but not enough to feel comfortable without more practice. I hope to find some interest in these goals.

Also, I am happy to make alterations to my character as needed, such as if I accidentally made them over-powered or whatnot. So please tell me if there are any changes needed to be made prior to the battle.

CHARACTER SHEET

Name:
Jordan "Joey" Greene

Appearance:
Joey is 5' 11" tall, and weighs 178 lbs. He appears to be between his late 30's and early 40's, with salt and pepper hair and a rugged face. He has brown eyes and dark hair (at least where the salt hasn't started peeking through.) He has a fit body, and low fat percentage. He has one tatoo of a woman's name, Katrina, on his left wrist he got in his youth. He has several scars, though most aren't apparent while he is clothed, the most prominent scars are three bullet wounds in his chest, a long scar across his back from being cut, and a stab wound on the lower left side of his abdomen. He tends to wear leather jackets and blue jeans believing that they offer decent amounts of protection while in urban areas.

Personality: Joey is a serious individual, who will "let his hair down" (I love using that description for characters who technically would never say it themselves :p) and party hard to relieve stress. He is a womanizer, with the occasional man. He believes that since he'll out live almost anyone he dates he must "hit it and quit it" to save himself the pain of watching loved ones die again. Joey is afraid of dying alone and desperately wishes to have someone who can stand by him in the years to come, but fears it will never happen. Joey has a strong sense of humour, though that's more when other people are being funny, and less himself. He can be sarcastic and argumentative, though he is loyal to a fault. He still loves Katrina, his first wife to this day, even though she died twenty years previously. He will sometimes even talk to her in his head. He loves to eat as well.

Age: 86

Abilities: He calls his ability "Never ending supply." He is also an above average shot (though not the best) with handguns, shotguns, and rifles. He is skilled in street/bar fighting, and knife fighting.

Never ending supplied explained: Joey's ability grants him a never ending supply of anything. What this means is that so long as he has at least one of something he will be able to have an unlimited amount of this item(this can also be used to provide additional space, can be used to give him unlimited ideas, and so on and so forth. However he must actively be applying that aspect for certain things. Bodily functions tend to be an unconscious aspect that he fulfills.) What this means is that he provides all of the nutrients, calories, oxygen, and so on and so forth. This prevents starvation, exhaustion, dehydration, blood loss, etc. etc. from effecting him. He can technically live forever due to his ability preventing telomere shortening, through the automatic replication of telomeres, which gives him theoretical eternal youth. (The theory behind this is based similarly to Wolverine's ability to heal. Aging is not prevented, so both individuals aged, however one theory for the decline due to old age is telomere shortening. Both individuals have abilities that counter act this effect, and theoretically they will never experience old age. But this is all conjecture, and may not have basis in fact.) However, Joey's body is still human and while he will not tire, he can die from many things. If his heart is to damaged to pump blood to his brain (I'm not sure how true this one would be considering he could technically just have enough oxygen be present constantly, but since I'm not 100% sure of this I'll include it.), if the brain and the rest of the body is separated, burning, dismemberment, and so on and so forth will all kill him.

Belongings: BMW R1200RT motorcycle, matte black with chrome finish. Two leather jackets, some blue jeans, a little gold and some precious gems to provide financing when he needs it, Sig Sauer P226 semi automatic handgun, and the Remington Versa Max Tactical Action: Semiautomatic shotgun.

History: Not yet fully fleshed out, will update at a later time.

That seems to be everything :) hope this is acceptable!

Also, if you are interested please @mention me so that I don't overlook your response, please and thank you :)
I'm with that idea, but they'd be in certain places, and I'll probably have at least a minority group of metahumans or the like living in the town, maybe the town is in on the secret? So it's kind of an open secret in the area? Also allowing the teachers to live off campus, and take turns with over night duties?

And I definitely like the task force idea.

Another idea, townsfolk and task force members are playable characters. However they must be in on the secret or discover it. (Your character will be more likely to be injured or die without abilities of some type though.)
So excited to get this story rolling!
