I'm thinking of a brother/sister duo where the sister is a legitimate noble born and the brother is a bastard, therefore her half-brother, though he doesn't know of his lineage, and she knows he's out there but has no idea who/where he is

I missed this in the rush of my thousand posts a second (I really should stop sending three posts out for every one post I get from other people :p) But I like the sound of this a lot!

I'm kinda sad that everyone is a noble or royalty! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Welp, I started on a cs but it probably won't be finished until tomorrow or maybe until the day after. I have school in the morning & then work right after, but I'll work on it as much as I can. Night guys :)

Take your time man! No rush. I'm throwing this together as we're talking. It'll be a little while technically before I should even be trying to read CS's technically. I haven't even formally typed the history of the Kingdom and posted it yet :p

I was thinking of creating a more repugnant character, perhaps a young prince whose heir to the throne, and desperately wants to prove himself fit for the mantle of kingship. Seeking to be the one to crush the rebellion so that he will have a throne to sit on once the king dies.

We have a princess and a prince! Both taking different stances on the issue. I like that! Adds a nice bit of drama too! Man, you people make me feel good about attempting this story!
Excerpts are taken from Hertzflet's Book on Theory Of Magic, a Beginners Practical

...My students would ask me "How can everyone use magic, but not everyone can use the same spells?"
And frankly, it's hard to answer that question. Anyone can technically visualize and pray really hard and get magic to take effect, but not everyone has that extra...calling to draw the power forth like a muscle...

...While there are no limitations to what magic can achieve being only limited to the imagination, will, and beliefs of the user, we teach ourselves limitations all the time. Because our imaginations are not infinite, we all close our mind to some possibilities, and will is a funny conversation in and of itself. SO it's difficult to say what is literally possible in magic, and what is not. Because how can you know what you can do, if all you've done is what you can think of doing?...

...It takes a force of will, and strength of spirit to use magic. You can wish all you want, but if you have a weak mind or body, you'll collapse quickly when using greater magics. It's easy to toss out a simple cantrip or jinx the housewife at the well. But if you want to close a wound, you have to know what is wrong with the wound. You have to know how the wound should heal. What goes where and how. Otherwise, you'll exhaust yourself...and just make things worse.

...People usually specialize in one form of magic or another. As my readers should know, I work almost exclusively with theoretical magic. Learning what is possible, how you can push the limits of what can be done. The Great Powers know how I struggle at times trying to apply this knowledge. There was this time where I...but I digress. When you start specializing, sure you start limiting what you can do. But you learn a single specific level that most mages just can't reach. So you give up other skills in exchange for being the best. My ability to divine the truth is unparalleled in this Kingdom, and most others if I can boast here...

@OneStoryToMany uh have you come up with a name for the kingdom yet

It's sad isn't it? I'm hung up on this, but have already decided on certain facts in the ancient past of this Kingdom, and have no idea what to call them?

<Snipped quote by OneStoryToMany>

Yeah I realized I forgot those paragraphs and am currently working on it.

Hmmm, he could to a point. He would probably try to negotiate terms for his personal reasons as well. Maybe call them out. I'm sure it's going to be a VERY rocky relationship. Also I forgot to ask about Magic, is it only specialized to one class, or can a Knight have some Basic magic as well? Like some fire magic. if not that's cool,just wondering

I just had an Idea for Kitty with her potential character and The Vanguard. Fenros would most likely try to gain their support as well later on.

First, awesome thank you for working on that! And "technically" all people are capable of some level of magic in this world. Now, Mages are people who just got a little extra oomph and dedicated themselves to learning magic. So a knight WOULD be capable of learning some basic magic, and or magic theory. Uh, since swordsmanship is such a time suck for learning things, I don't think any swordsman who extremely skilled would get very far in learning about magic or its theory, but there's nothing stopping him from learning some bits and bobbles.However, that WOULD have caused issue within parts of the Military and various fighting guilds. Kind of just a prejudice there about magic and it's use. SO it'd be a personal choice if one learned or not.

I'm going to go ahead and try to type up a short bit about how magic works, just to try and explain the nature it takes IC.
@OneStoryToMany

Here is my rough draft for now please feel free to ask me to add anything

WOOT WOOT. Well, it's a bit of a middle zone of accepted. Just need the two paragraphs at min. One of interaction, one of combat or other specialization. But definitely has my thumbs up for now! Reads like the kind of guy who COULD lead a rebellion. However, I need to point out that he WILL NOT like a good portion of his rebellion people. The Ouroboros for instance are not so....nice. And he probably won't last long without their support. SO is he capable of sucking it up for that?
I'm loving this enthusiasm guys :D

So, just finished most of the first draft of the map, just gotta add the city and desert. Then I need to make the map for the city!!!! Progress!
@OneStoryToMany
Yeah, the idea I had was she would learn over time how to defend herself overtime.

That's just one of the ideas I had so when I start going more into detail with my characters I will see which one works out better

That should be fine. If you do decide to go with the Princess thing I already have a really good reason for why she would have run away. Beyond just poor leadership skills of her father. (She'd be unlikely to know how bad the situation was for the common folk. She probably would have been sheltered from most of the debate on the topic and wouldn't have seen the terrible conditions herself.) But it would add an interesting flavor to things. The King has several secrets, one of which would have had an EXTREMELY large effect on her. Plus interactions with another faction for that character might be interesting.

I hope I got everyone O_o

Just to let you guys know, I want this to be a story that has ideas from all of us, so if there's anything you would like to see in the story, if I can get it to fit into what I got planned, just let me know and I'll get it in there. Thankfully, I'm trying to keep several major plot points together, but the details and minutiae are definitely malleable, so just pass along any interesting ideas you got and we can see how they play out!

This post will also act as a periodic roll call just to make certain everyone who has shown interest is still interested, so if you are just give me a shout and we can go from there!
@OneStoryToMany
Would I be able to possibly have a character that was a princess(or nobility if princess is too much) who doesn't agree with the way that kingdom is being run and runs away to get away from her corrupt family and join the rebellion

Certainly. All character ideas are worth consideration. If you'd like to play a Princess character I would like to point out that your character would have been a pampered doll that was raised to be the purchase price in an alliance of some type though. While that won't prevent her from having some form of skill, she probably wouldn't be overly skilled in it until after she joins the rebellion. Technically speaking, the rebellion hasn't "started."

There are currently pockets of dissent throughout the Kingdom, and while The Ouroborus is ACTIVELY against the Kingdom, and has taken steps, there isn't a formal rebellion as of yet.

Also, people who play in the roles of Faction leaders, if you are approved I'll be sending a PM with "secret" information about your factions (or other factions depending on who you are.) Do what you will with the information, but recognize if some of it gets out, it'll put you guys in a tight situation :p

**Edited

Thanks :D I'll do that :D
So after creating the map, how would I post it on here? I tried a couple random map generators, but I wasn't entirely happy with them so I decided to make my own, but now I'm not sure how to put it on here?
