//Salforge [Just after Minoru wakes up]

Salforge had to admit, this was about more than just the ringing of the dinner bell. The Factory had gone into security alert, a breach made possible thanks to him and Ryoko casually stepping out for about an hour leaving the ever useless general and his nephew to play with their toys. It was fine, there wasn't a thing that got past him even if they managed to creep around the corner, through the ventilation systems, etc. Prior to their leaving to encounter that pesky Gavin, Salforge did code the entire factory. The intruders were now about to learn the meaning of "terror".

But before that

Salforge took a single step, and then another. He found himself doing a little jig with Tyra at this point, with as much as he watched other's movements doing a couple steps in to a rhythm wasn't too hard. At that point he'd sure she'd join in, this was purely for her amusement.
Gavin\\
Gavin was tired, he'd endured some erroneous torture prior to this outbreak of pure hell happening in the medium sized room. He was hardly paying attention to conversation at this point, as he'd been lost to the thought of his sister. Releasing an exhale, he could feel the heat again, and sure enough as his heavy eyes began to lift there was the woman he'd caught a glimpse of before, at the closest distance. Attempting to burn through the chain, she'd put it in a pretty malleable state.

There was no mistaking it, he'd come in contact with his polar opposite, chemistry crossed his mind then. The red haired youth's right arm was broken and he couldn't bend the limbs, but he had other options. "You're...saving me?" hardly a first word, but it was all he had inside his vault of thoughts. It then occurred to him, was this the group he'd been scouting out?

"You're doing great...I got it from here, just back up..." Gavin said giving her a moment or so as he drew upon the icy grip of his darkness.

As he attempted to his his left hand to pull himself up, his legs were bent against the wall, his back kept him balanced. His grip was bluish black, and freezing cold. Touching the left chain's heated area, he diffused the chain causing it to snap, then reached for the remaining ones, eventually freeing himself of all the shackles. As his right arm dropped down, he felt the tug, and it felt like an enflamed house. He rigorously clenched his teeth, gripping for his right arm and using all he had keeping him conscious from letting out a violent scream in pain.

"Damn...that really...REALLY hurts..." he whispered to the woman.

What they needed now was a secure escape route, as Gavin looked around, they practically had Ryoko surrounded. Gavin however was in no condition to be useful to the break out. "It's Gavin...in case you were wondering."
//Salforge [Present time]
He'd fooled around with Tyra for a few minutes or so, there was a breach reported and now the entire facility was on high alert.

"Ok, thats enough entertainment for one sitting. You go help Ryoko, i'm gonna head down to the core room. Off you go."

Salford placed his hand on her head, and within seconds she was being coded by his immovable blocks. Rapidly covering her, she was digitized and then scattered into automatons. She should invariably be popping in right outside the door to Gavin's chamber. Salforge let his hand float there for a moment before, he thought softly of Ciel and how she'd tuned him into a more humble "thing". The steel heart complied, prodding at his chest before restarting towards the factory's core room. He muttered only a word, "Haste..." with that, Salforge vanished in a blink leaving the dust as he curved through the factory.

As the effects waned down, he was suspended high above, suppressing his mass and volume (density) to a state where he was nearly that of a feather. He floated briefly in the air, before balancing himself on a floating block the size of a basketball. Racing across his skin, the blocks reflected his appearance to be empty, his sound quieted and the sounds of voices yelling over misplaced information within a group was heard. He had to admit, it felt like he'd done this before...or was this the other way around? Regardless, he hovered down without a sound to be heard and continued to do what he did best.

'One-thousand eyes. Blink.'

Standing atop the block still obscured from sight, the room began to butt forth floating material, reflective, but this time circular. They looked almost as if to be glass protrusions, objects even, yet they were singled layered blocks rapidly multiplying covering the room. Salforge sat down on his, it expanded as he moved to the position of comfort. He'd done this once before, used his blocks to diffuse the situation and set up multiple points to throw up detainment blocks. In truth, this was his intent of coating the factory from the beginning.

Soon he chose to remove his cloak and hovered above two women, he was slumped over, shoulders buffed and sat in silence. The CI located in his left eye, gleamed, as his red eyes flickered with the mark of his kind. He jumped off, falling slower than normal due to his change in mass. By about the time he stood up, and stomped with his right foot there was a tremor from that spot. Again, shifting the density in his leg as it was firmly planted.

Two women, he looked at them both, surely if these were different circumstances then sexual harassment would've been essential...as a jest naturally. The eyes circled around the entire room and followed everything, there was an input message on the console, at this point the mercenary had already determined the worst-case-scenario here. So he had to detain that entire room.

"Haste." he quickly drew his hand instantly, and began to purge yellow light generating at the tip of his finger pointed towards the machine.
"You might want to move. Decay."

A single point-sling from his finger, burst forward with yellow light. Aimed towards the core, the yellow light that purged only had one purpose at that point, it was to remove the core from the playing field and it had the power to do that. If they didn't throw something in the way, it'd punch through everything they'd been working on up until now. The empire had a policy, if they couldn't have it, better both sides loose it so it can't be used against them. That topic alone was moot, but now wasn't the time to delve deeper into the matter.

Posted, decided against my initial idea. Also waiting for Orsa to post so I can again as Sal.
Gavin jerked and then some, held by his hair of all things. He yawned as he was starting to have a preference for being put to death by this point, he regretfully was a little too tenacious in putting himself in his predicament. The time of his arrival was piss poor, he didn't know what the time zone difference was leaving his family's dimension and ending up here. He'd only thought about his sister's further blasphemous dissent into the pits of the empire. Before prompted to give a reason, there burst forth a soldier with an unconscious body, presumably male, then confirmed to be male.

"And I thought I had bad luck today, reneging that assertion."

Though half in jest, it was true Gavin was an offworlder. As if to give Ryoko dots to connect, this empire had to have some basic premise of whoever their primary objective was. Usually there proposed a rag-tag team that was dominant in one area alone to defend a world. It seemed common in most novels he'd come across in this age. It always brought him back to his older sister...and how for personal reasons he was even here, in the claws of the faction she was supporting.

He refocused on the male that was brought in, he seemed rather exasperated and in a funk of his own. Gavin was paying close attention to the synchronization of his bodily gestures in combination with the words flowing from his mouth. He was by no means a pro-synographer, but telegraphing genuine vs. dishonest body gestures was how he justified and concealed blatant lies himself...and he was a damn pro at it. Faintly cutting a glance at his still very much broken right arm, he wasn't in any rush to "storm the fort" as they say. So he'd bide for Ryoko's amusement with this super reactive male.

"A valiant effort?" Gavin said, somewhat bewildered at watching him collapse. "You know, if you could release me, I just might be able to-" Gavin stopped mid sentence and then thought really hard about it. "-nevermind...Ryoko, you might as well chain him up too."

He released a heavy sigh, this must've been what it felt like waiting for the right one to come purge you from prison. A thought crossed Gavin's mind, he thought about his sister again...and it only thoroughly skewed his anger along further. If he didn't escape and he didn't do something about her, then this would only serve to anger him, and be marked as a disappointment by his family that she chose to distance herself from.

Under his lips, but with no sound, he mouthed her name. "_ _ _ _."

His eyes then narrowed, he stared menacingly at the floor before sliding down the wall and sitting down. Eventually going numb from the tugging suspension of his broken right arm. Soon, the door had opened and burst forth with an arc of heated volition. Gavin's mortal enemy at work it seemed, he grew colder and closed his eyes to hide in the darkness.
Posted. Sorry, projects, work, and preparation for black friday. Do the math lol.
There were enough casualties, there was more than enough damage. When Tyra Zhen had arrived on the scene that all but assured this detainment was successful, it saved the teen further ridicule. He soon passed out after breaking his arm in three places, as his face hit the cold ground, he was hobbled over, unconscious.

"Talk about ant-climactic...shame." Salforge let out a dull sigh, soon capturing the attention of the latest arrival. Meeting with a key blade near him, or at least thats what it looked like to the mercenary, he had an issue regarding personal space so he naturally swayed away from it instinctively. "Hey superstar, watch where you're pointing that probe of black death."

She inquired about him, the state of his heart seemed to be everyone's question. "It's complicated and personal, leave it there." as he retorted with an aversion, he turned to Ryoko whom had been fuming. At that point the teen reeled and turned over in his stead collapsing, unconscious. The mercenary lifted him and slung him over his shoulders. "Lets take him back for questioning."

Taking but a step, the ice cracked under the weight of Salforge's increased density, within moments, all three of them had vanished from the alley.
Later
"Talk?" Gavin inflected with genuine befuddlement. "About...?"

He took a time to process the question, it was a strong implication that Ryoko was doing her damnedest to stick. He had no "information" he was a freedom fighter on the other hand. Perhaps it was a show of the youth's pristine sense of duty. However, the prism locked away inside of him made sure that when he died, that was it. No zombie bullshit, no reincarnation, when your dead your pretty much nutrients for the earth, screw God or whatever the faith was.

"Oh, the assault charges? You two looked strong, I lost my self-control..." he sighed, twitching his right arm. Fragments of ice were seeping in between the ligament cracks attempting to force fuse his limbs. The prism was finally being useful, not at the speed he'd like, but wounds would heal in a matter of days. The process was crawl speed slow and gradual, Gavin had tamed his darkness to act in a subtle manner used for purposes other than aggression. Confiding in his noesis concealment was very loosely an issue here.
\\Salforge
It didn't take long for the day to draw near its end. The moon was out yet Hollow Bastion was still...so very black, things were cloaked within the night of a dimly lit moon. Most of what covered the floors, streets, and there arounds, were dimly cast shadows from buildings. Inside of the castle, the factory the mercenary lingered a bit. Tyra Zhen seemed to fit the description of a magnet with how she hovered over the mercenary. He got it, he was new, understandable, but perhaps it was a bit impulsive or downright too much to anticipate professionalism throughout each body in imperial forces.

'Lets not do this today. Or ever.' he thought, then rolling his eyes.

"Yeah? Tyra Zhen if I'm not mistaken? Could you try giving me some space? Food for thought." he came off brusque and sardonic, typical for those that spoke to him and he expressed his disinterest in this way where in some cultures, being insensitive was some how treated as being familiar with another human? Absurd, if you were going to be a certain way, it should mean one iteration of behavior is treated literally, not leaving someone else to guess at what it means. Salforge never left people to guess at him, saying it out right is something he did exceedingly well.

Hearing the sounds of gears spin and turn was a little more painstaking than it looked, hell...sounded even.
Gavin could see this wasn't standard protocol, so he was quickly discerning alternative action to minimize confrontation. So he raised the white flag, removing both hands from his sides, and placing them on his head, while bending down to his knees. The darkness that exhumed at his feet, dissipated. He expected at least the red-eyed male to identify this immediately as a sign of no resistance. His hands moved and hovered to his front and both hands were turned upward.

"Ryoko, hold on!" The mercenary held his palm out to keep her from collapsing. "Look at his gesture, do you recognize the sign?"

Salforge understood it, he was a mercenary, when he invaded worlds and either detained, slew, or captured he understood the pragmatics of war well enough. The gesture that the boy made was an act that conveyed a lack of malice, turning over hostility to a somewhat improvised surrender. What was he plotting?

"Gavin. I've been on your side of the fence before, just who are you really trying to convince with a stunt like this. Us? Or Yourself."

As the words echoed through his head, the teen thought of something. His words were carefully chosen, so he spoke. "I'm saving myself the trouble, thats all."

Salforge's eyes narrowed, he was growing even more cautious and suspicious. "Just what do you mean by that? C'mon kid, a straight answer would make this drag of a chat go by faster."

This conversation was quickly turning into a guessing game between two minds. Gavin was interpreting the best possible string of words to hold it up against the mercenary's questions and growing suspicions. "You're really pushing me into a corner here...I'm telling you. Trust me."

From where the mercenary stood, it just seemed like empty words. While Ryoko was catching her breath this situation was in his hands, the mercenary at this point was almost finished talking and just going to detain Gavin in skin tight blocks. "You'll have to do better than that kid, this is your last war-"

What only the alley heard, what bounced off the narrow walls. The sound of a loud cracking, a complete snap that filtered into the ears of all those present. Gavin's right arm, dominant arm, her forcibly fractured using the gauntlet on his left arm. As his arm fell limp, he bit his lip, with the subtle escapes and murmurs passing just beyond his teeth, there was a surge of pain. The teen fought with his mild-pain tolerance, and willpower to remain conscious. He'd mutilated himself willingly as a fitting compromise in his situation.

Salforge for once, not since out of set conversations with Ciel, flickered and was swayed in this moment. This kid, some random stranger that utilized the powers of darkness as an application of cold, physically breaking his dominant arm. The mercenary had no words, truly even he was surprised by this turn of events...was this how hard human's fought to survive? Was he like this at any moment of time prior to his personal predicament? His eyes returned to their lifeless demeanor and he released a sigh.

"That will do Gavin. The fact that you just did that, proves you aren't affiliated with the rebel faction. No cause is worth acts of self-destruction, only one's life midst peril. Ryoko...It's your call, what should we do with him. He's hobbled now, not even worth killing...detain him? Kill him? Your choice."

In Salforge's mind, Gavin was already more courageous and fit to survive in this war, he had to assume a fracture like that would heal via the darkness quicker than a normal cast. He pitted him, but he was at Ryoko's mercy, and he had virtually no wiggle room as it stood.
"Lets just say a job is a job. When your on my side, consider yourself on the safe side of my immovable block and not like this one."

From the brush of wind there was the sound of glass shattering, splintering outward were shards of spiked ice, dancing with swirls of darkness. It seems as if the youth had broken through several layers of captivity. The ice stretched, and etched into the sides of the alley's buildings, creating a cradle that held the massive slab suspended in tow. With a look caution and calculation, he raised a finger and pointed it like a gun. It hovered just in front of the mercenary.

"Yo." Gavin said giving a salute.

He wasn't much for words, but it was enough to discern he wouldn't be easily detained. Salforge understood what happened well enough, he must've been freezing the interior of the block at a rapid rate, causing the shells to shatter. Magic damage was ideal, he'd have to use a stronger block next time.

Brimming with darkness, he sat in the icy perch as if befitting of a low-level duke. Gavin wasn't in a position to run, from what the woman Ryoko said, the Unbound Hearts had already struck by raiding a storehouse. He wasn't apart of raiding team, nor did he arrive in time to be briefed or even commissioned yet. To think he'd encounter empire now of all times, it was far from what he was expecting. Jumping down from his perch it started to walk forward a bit before standing standing in place.

"Am I being detained for questionable identity? The burden of proof falls on you." He spoke in the first clear and concise sentence, and harbored thick darkness at his feet. The air crawled deeper into a cold respite, the teen flcked his bangs back and waited for them to return answer.

Salforge paused for a moment still on his guard, but turned his head to the general.

"Assaulting military?" he questioned, as he didn't have a full answer.
Even though she said not to, the mercenary was quick to do the most calculative thing.

"Haste." he called, beckoning quick speed, and feeling of the blocks building power speed up as well. Making a bad dash in front of the hand of darkness there was a burst of cool air that surged, felling up the mercenary. Frozen solid it seemed, a block of ice that possessed some manner of movement.

The boy crouched down, placing a hand on his head to catch a view, to see if that really happened. He'd clearly seen the male throw himself in front of the hand to guard Ryoko from it's icy grasp. It would've probably been more effective to do what he did before, but that kind of thinking is what even Gavin's noesis could not keep up with. Spontaneity always trumped him, a move he couldn't predict, he always assumed his opponents would do the most intelligent thing automatically and prepared to counter.

"One down." the teen said, and quickly turned his head to the empire's woman named Ryoko again.

Twinning inside of the block of ice, thin lines of semi-transparent blocks seemed to come together like a conflux, a spire of quickly forged cubes soon was visible around the mercenary's position. When they solidified, they separated, then vanished, watching in slow motion as the caged in mercenary stood up in contraposto form. He used his blocks to forge spaces in between the ice, put them apart, and then release the cubes to drop each individual slab that held him in place.

"Hey. I heard that, how about this?" he snapped his fingers, and boxed the teenager inward. "Haste. Compress." using the haste spell again, he quickly multi-layered the boxed prison that held Gavin inside, making it of smaller cubes to fortify his entrapment. The walls began to shrink and converge inward, the mercenary lifted the cube upwards, disconnecting the mysterious assailant from the ground, and his darkness.

As Gavin lay floating in air he quickly began to think about the next few moments very carefully. He wasn't adept with the darkness to where he could open a portal, not even close. Right now he had to acknowledge that he was in the enemies hands, this user of abjuration would prove to be of an even larger problem than fighting a band of invisible pureblood heartless solo. Just what could he do? He started to panic, and quickly threw up a veil of darkness as he continued to float upwards, but he was now no longer visible to the enemy from inside this floating cage.

Salforge raised a finger and the enemy floated in place, in a cube about the size of a small cubicle. It was constantly being layered, so he was definitely boxed in. The mercenary spun the cube around in mid-air to juggle the captive and make him dizzy as a means of disorienting him even further.

"This must be how a hamster running on the wheel feels, when he misses a step."
