Current Today I reached the conclusion that, if presented with an exact duplicate of herself, one of my characters would DEFINITELY hit that.

They're not LONG chapters; but the fact I've managed to right 2 meh and 4 half decent ones in 4 days makes me very happy with myself.

@Forsythe Jaune is a special case, his weapons has specifically been stated to not be the best choice with modern equipment available, and the ONLY reason he doesn't use a more advanced weapon is because he "borrowed" it and entered Beacon without attending a combat school (where he would be required to forge his own weapon).

In addition, Crossbows have ALWAYS had one major weakness, that being rate of fire. See, even with a gravity fed magazine (which is extremely small I might add) it still takes some time to draw, aim, and fire a crossbow. Even a traditional bow has a higher rate of fire than a crossbow, and you can carry more ammunition for it(a four round box magazine for a crossbow takes up the same amount of space as 8-10 individual bolts).

A sword, on the other hand, follows an interesting rule when carried into combat, "Blades don't need reloading" which is the exact opposite of your crossbow.

I have nothing against simple weapons, my own main character favors throwing knives(only viable because they are loaded with dust and are used with his semblance), it is a matter of you having made a poor choice for a huntress in training. Having long reload time on a crossbow means you cannot use it at close range. The bayonet/combat knife would actually make it LESS effective since you are having to maneuver the arms of the crossbow for anything more than stabbing,\. Even removing the knife you have to drop your crossbow and risk breaking it, or take the time to store it, and then all you have is a dinky little knife on a character who is not specialized into melee combat.

Keep in mind, this is a show where most characters use weaponized rule of cool, powered by copious amounts of phlebotinum. Your weapon, on the other hand, is plain and outdated even in our modern world with technology basttly inferior to Remnants. I'm not sure I've ever said this before, but you need MORE RoC to make this thing work.

I can tell a lot about a character from their weapon, and this thing says "suicidally underprepared' no matter how I look at it.
@Forsythe My analysis is in there too, i just had her write it down and post because she has a little thing called "tact"
Give us a few to go over it thoroughly and we'll let you know
We have one team providing an example of school teams keeping contact, not enough to say heavy implication.
the leading theory is that hunters are government employed to some degree, and as such are likely sent out on missions as a military asset.
Next, a group of hunters being deployed as a unit after graduation would not need to follow the team names used by schools, and would likely follow a more standard military naming convention.
Finally, Zugzwang, why are you using RWBY setting if you are disregarding everything but terminology? why not reskin it and give yourself more freedom? that way you can use the basics and not worry about things like CNR and team naming conventions.
That was easier for me to figure than CR was, actually.
Doesn't matter, we're changing the team leader and renaming the entire thing to:
Lambrusco - a type of red wine
The currently occupied letters are,
L, B, and R
feel free to match any of the other letters.
@VedranTheII Oh, and congratulations, with Fox gone you're replacing him as co-gm to help me manage the players.
Keep in mind, you knew this was a possibility when you signed on.

@Kaithas Two other people showed interest before you, but in favor of getting this show on the road again I'm going to call it first come on the review/acceptance process.
It helps to be a little more specific. His more hidden gripes tend to be:
- weapons he can’t picture in his head how they work (Yang's bracelets for instance aren’t a weapon he’s fond of since those straight up use hammer space.);
- grimm related semblances (controlling or harnessing their power in any way,shape or form);
- grimm made weapons (cannon heavily implies their bones and limbs disintegrate over time when severed from the main body);
- ports (made a knuckles the echidna oc once, most liked it, he didn’t);

Outside of that, as long as you don’t make your character a Sue, you should be fine.

Excuse me? Ember Celica are one of the EASIEST weapons for me to map out, if you recall I used the basic concept for one of my characters weapons.
Not really, just preferential. (oh, and V2 is only around 2 hours, not 3)
Mostly i have absurdly high character standards for an otherwise mid-casual RP.
Watch the second volume, please. Also, while we are trying to stick to canon mechanics, storyline is entirely my own design, and i have filled in some gaps of information, trying my best to avoid going too far off the logical path.
Oh, and my character standards are pretty high. doesn't need to be a five page backstory or anything, but i have lot of specific criteria i apply to characters.
