Destiny: The First Guardians

So, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person here who's been playing Bungie's latest title since their last entry into the halo series, Destiny. This MMO/Shooter hybrid sets the game taking place centuries, maybe even millenniums in the future. A large, City sized, hite spehre, known as "The Traveler" entered our solar system and took residence first on Mars, then later Venus, Mercury, and Earth. The Traveler gave all of humanity the gift of prosperity, proppeling human technology far into the futre, allowing us to inhabit Mars, making Venus habitable, and turning Mercury into a garden planet. For centuries the human race had entered a world, or solar system wide golden age, where everyone prospered. Of course, there's always a catch.

The Darkness, several centuries after the traveler arrived, had attacked. A forced comprised of multiple races and factions, all dedicated to hunting down the traveler, as well as eliminating anything it had helped, aka humans now. The Fallen, an organized alien race that attacked earth with numbers and technology. The Hive, seeding the earth and the moon and setting up temples and cult factions to fight off all others. The Vex, a machine race sharing a single intelligence, turning Mercury into a machine world and moving onto Venus for it's next target, as well as making Mars the home to the source of all Darkness, the Dark Heart. Finally, the Cabal, a militarized race dedicated to eliminating all enemy forces.

These four races each attacked and destroyed anything that wasn't part of the darkness, and sometimes each other, but in the end, the Traveler and Humanity were the main targets. The traveler itself fought against the darkness, and succeeded, but only by sacrificing it's power and itself. However, in it's dying breath, the Traveler spread it's remaining light out to create machines know as Ghosts, as well as giving people a piece of it's light. The Ghosts were tasked to find those touched by the Traveler's light, and awaken their abilities to protect the remnants of humanities, to turn them into Guardians.

So yeah, it's a pretty epic set up to this game. Regardless of how well it goes throughout the game itself after this build up, your character is set up as a dead person, ressurected by a Ghost, and you go on your merry way fighting the armies of darkness along with other guardians. The game fails to mention the tales of the first guardians though, the guardians that were there to fight the armies of darkness as the Traveler was dying.

With that said, this RP will be about the first group of Guardians awoken to their light, chosen to fight the remaining dark races on Earth and push them back to give humanity some breathing room, as well as establish a safe haven for the remaining humans.

So, with the plot and setting of the RP established, I want to see who's interested before I start getting into rules and everything. If I get at least 3 other people interested, I'll start to answer questions as well as establish rules and everything should this get off the ground.

Personality: I don't like defining personalities in a CS as I find with myself and others that personalities are very prone to change from their CS form to actual RP form.

Equipment: None

Non-Magic Abilties: Mia is actually a naturally strong and agile fighter. She isn't super strong by any means, but she is experienced in martial arts that take manipulating your opponents force and using it against them (like judo and grapple based martial arts) as well as fighting styles that rely on quick, accurate strikes to vital areas.

Type of Magic: Elemental Spirits Take Over = Mia's magic is take over magic specializing in fusing with the souls of elemental spirits that she has either defeated, or formed an "agreement" with giving her their soul. Turning her body into a human/monster hybrid of an elemental spirit. Currently she only has 1 spirit as elemental spirits are very hard to come by.

-Djinn Soul = The Djinn is a spirit that specializes in using fire magic. Using this djinn soul she becomes a fir/human being that can manipulate small flames separate from her body, but her main skill comes from the fact that she actually creates explosions at point blank range from any area on her body, either blocking strikes by countering them with a small explosion from where ever the attack would hit, or striking an enemy and increasing the force and damage of her attack with the burst.

So, about 3-4 months ago, I was in a 1x1 RP that my partner had started. The plot was essentially about those with magic fighting against demons, but my partner controlled 4 or 5 different characters (not all at once) while I controlled a "main character" of sorts that interacted with the secondary characters they controlled. The idea was that I was the main character, discovering magic and learning how to use it while interacting with these secondary characters, developing friendships and even romances with them, while also moving along with the plot.

I'm not looking to restart this RP, instead I want to take this concept of having one person be a "main character" while the other controls multiple secondary characters to interact with the main character within an RP. Of course we'd both control non-important NPC's and the occasional antagonists, but the main idea is that one of us would be the "main character" while the other has control of several secondary characters.

Anyways, as the title says, I don't have any solidified ideas, and I want to work with my partner to set up the RP.

First, some rules:
1. Posting. I prefer PM's for 1x1's, and I find myself to be of a High casual+ level rp-er, meaning no less than 3+ paragraphs per post on average. Also, post at least once every 2-3 days. If you can't do this, don't bother reading past this, as it won't work for us. Also, if you have to leave for awhile, tell me. If you just stop posting to me, I'm gonna assume you dropped and gave up.
2. Be committed.
3. OOC stuff. I expect to talk with you somewhat regularly to help develop the RP and also to just interact with you and get to know you somewhat.
4. Be nice, simple.

So, I'm laying this out here right now, I'd rather be the "main character" role as this RP I was doing before was pretty much cut short within a few weeks of it starting, so I never really got my fix for this. However, I'm willing to fill out the other role of several secondary characters.

Finally, back to the point of having no idea. So, with no idea, we have to make up a plot, setting, and everything from scratch, or we could use the basic plot description of my previous RP as a start to build something. But I'm willing to really set up with any setting/style of RP'ing, except historical. I'm terrible with history so I just avoid it.

So, I love the persona series, mainly persona 4 and it's "recent" re:make for the ps vita. The persona series was introduced to me a few years ago in a trailer for persona 3, where the characters would use a gun (which I now understand to be called an "evoker") and shoot themselves to summon their persona monster thingy and fight. I merely wrote it off as "oh silly jrpg, you never cease to amuse me."

Then I played persona 4 as I saw the anime and thought "This is kind of interesting, I just hope the tarot card thing is how it works in the game instead of the guns." I played P4, and man did I love that game. A game with the standard but well designed JRPG turn based combat and the unique system of weaknesses, knockdowns, and shuffle time for extra rewards after the battle, that was combined with actual in-depth (though somewhat generic and cliched, but still developed and well done) story and characters that made me feel for them. The use of Social Links to increase the strength of your personas gave your interactions with other characters more weight than the already tremendous emotion that they display within their story bits.

Then I played back into P3 and such, before getting a vita nad playing Persona 4 Golden, the updated remake that also introduced more content with a new character, extra dungeons, and other such things. Basically, Persona 4 and it's Golden remake are games that got me back into the shin megami tensei series after I played the digital devil games, and I loved those as I loved this game. It was familiar yet unique at the same time and fuck it was awesome.

So, now that I got my plug about persona in, let me explain the focus of this RP I want to pursue.

So, "Persona" Void of the Screen" is an "original" story that I want someone to help me with. Your role in this story would be playing the protagonist of the story, similar to the protagonists of the past persona games.

This RP will take place in High School (at a fictional city of course) where your character is new to the area. You will meet an array of characters that I will be controlling before being told about the rumor circulating threw school. There's a new app, simply called "Void." When opened without headphones on, the app simply open up a picture of a person too hard to make out. They say that whoever uses the app with headphones on, they'll be able to hear the mystery person's voice screaming in agony for help. After 7 days, the mystery person will be revealed, and the next day they'll be found on the news dead. Once the app is downloaded, the app can't be deleted, and whenever the app is pulled down from the download site, it will appear back up within an hour, so it's impossible to truly get rid of it.

From there, it will be a rabbit hole of sorts for your character and his/her friends to go down into and pursue, trying to figure out what the app has to do with the murders.

So, I'm used to explaining my rules for those interested, so here goes.

1. PM vs. Thread: I prefer to use PM's over threads but I don't mind making a thread for the ooc/ic

2. Posting: This is an advanced RP, so at least 3 decently detailed paragraphs of writing per post. Also, don't go more than 2-3 days of no posting. If you can't post on this schedule regularly, don't bother looking further. If something comes up during this period and you need more time to post, then notify me with a pm or something so I'm not left waiting. If you go 2 weeks without posting, I drop you, simple as that.

3. Don't be a dick: I try to be courteous and kind to my partner's, please give me the same treatment.

4. Don't hesitate to drop: If you need/want to drop our RP, then just tell me. I'd rather lose the RP entirely than slowly drift into worse and worse responses before deciding to break it off myself. If it isn't for you, just tell me and we won't waste each other's time.

5. Limits: I have none, but I do believe in moderation. I don't mind doing gore, but we don't need to go elfen lied levels of human blood bag explosions okay? I don't mind doing a smut scene if you insist, but I refuse to make that a focus. I don't mind cursing, but cursing too much just makes it seem like you can't write. I don't mind doing romance, in fact for a persona RP I think it's a reasonable to pursue romance, but I won't do "lovey-dovey" bullshit cause much for the same reason as smut, it can become a focus and ruin the RP. Remember, at the heart of persona, it's a game based on forming relationships to STOP A GREATER EVIL, not unadulterated hand holding bullshit lol.

Strength: (The persona series has several styles of characters, that range from those that focus on casting spells, those that focus on buffing/debuffing targets as well as healing them, and then physical based damage. What does your character excel in? The choices are "Valor" "Wisdom" and "Support")
Weakness: (If your character is good at using physical attacks, they probably suck at casting damage spells. If they use damage spells, they suck at healing and support based spells. If they excel in support spells, they probably aren't good in doing physical damage. Basically it's kind of like rock paper scissors. Whatever your strength is, the weakness would be what they can't do well. Valor = weakness of wisdom, wisdom = weakness of support, support = weakness of valor. These last two bits are basically to just solidify how your character would work in the combat scenarios. Do you want to be on the front lines? Bombarding your enemies from afar? Or focus more on helping your allies survive while they fight?)

Now, I know you might be a little disappointed if you know the persona series and want to have your own unique persona, but for the sake of the story I will be assigning you a starter persona. As the RP progresses, I will allow you to create your own personas to use in addition to your starting one, as the game does.

Anyways, as I said before, if you're interested, PM me with a filled out CS and title it "Persona Void Quest Character" and we'll take it from there :)
