Appearance:
Name: Gain Weller Hogan
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Religion: Atheist
Sexuality: Straight
Occupation: Assistant Manager at Spumoni's Pizza, Custodian for a local cleaning company- Sache's Cleaners, Freshman at local community college.
Abilities: Able to get you your pizza in thirty minutes or less, guaranteed! Also juggling, basic cooking, accounting, and taxes (even though the last two are hell to him). Also knows how to run a steam carpet cleaner.
Faults: Fear of earthquakes, jealousy, a slight temper, under lots of stress.
Power: Greatly enhanced Durability, to the point where he is bullet
resistant and can survive impacts that would cripple or kill a normal person. Enhanced Strength, to the point where he can get through or over most things not made of concrete, brick, or metal. Enhanced Speed to the point that he can catch up with bicycles, but nowhere near speedster levels. Enhanced Endurance to the point where he can run 5 or 6 city blocks without breaking a sweat and can stay up for several days at a time if fully refreshed. Finally, Gain also has a power he doesn't quite understand. It's hard to explain and he doesn't have a name for it, but it's sort of a hive mind encompassing the entire city. The vibrations of the ground, construction crews, cars on the street whether they be parked or mid traffic, echoing laughter or screams or alarms or singing, hot dog stands on a corner, water and sewage in the pipes, the massive electrical current around him, the rattling of the subway and the railroad, the whole city. He can feel, taste, smell, hear, almost see all of it. It's his Citysense. He mainly uses it to get around while doing deliveries. He knows it's not normal but he doesn't understand it at all.
Personality: Gain is a pretty serious guy. He rarely makes jokes, but enjoys them. His expression is usually sour, but inside he's a caring guy. The amount of stress on him daily is taxing. His sister is dependant on him, his apartment is a glorified closet, he works two jobs and is trying to get through his first year of college. No wonder he has a hard time smiling. Under all that though, Gain wants to help the world some day. He's not sure how, but given enough time he knows he can do anything, making him an optimist at heart.
History: Gain lived with his family- mom, dad, and 13 year old sister Harmony- until he was 17. A freak earthquake leveled three city blocks, toppling the apartment complex his home was in. His parents died, but his sister lived, if in a catatonic state. He now visits her daily at the hospital, where she still lays comatose. The only way he is able to afford her care is the inheritance passed to them by their parents.
