This is Megatropolis City
(Yeah, we're not good at making names)

Founded in the great year of 19105, Megatropolis is an extremely large and technologically advanced city with a population of around 10 million. For the most part, Megatropolis is rather prosperous and generally quite peaceful, however, this peacefulness quickly turns to panic upon the arrival of various Monsters, Villains and jaywalkers (probably not that last one, actually), of which Megatropolis seems to attract for seemingly no reason. Luckily, Megatropolis is also fortunate enough to have a surplus of various Superheroes within it, be they technological or magical. Superhumans, Sentai Rangers, Magical Girls and much, much more. They don't necessarily operate together (they're independent of each other most of the time), nor do they have any real relation to each other. They just happen to live or base themselves there for their individual reasons. Their presence within the city is what maintains the peace, as they protect it with their technological prowess, martial skill or supernatural powers. With the combined (or individual) efforts of these various Heroes, Megatropolis is frequently rescued from the brink of destruction, time and time again.

However, just as there are your Heroes and Villains, there are also those who opt to take a neutral approach, seeking to serve only themselves, and having mixed views in the eyes of the public.

Whether you're a Hero, Villain or somewhere in-between: Welcome to Megatropolis.

Yo. Welcome to this here RP. As the Interest Check would've said, this is a Roleplay that draws a ton of inspiration from One-Punch Man, while taking place in a universe completely separate from it. The goal here is to get a light-hearted not-crazy-serious experience going. A big factor of this RP will be the fact that it's pretty broad in what you can actually be in terms of character.

The last ninja of a secret clan? Sure, why not?

Physically-Enhanced Super Soldier who dual-wields tomahawks? Fair game, man.

A GODDAMN MAGICAL GIRL WITH THE POWERS OF THE STARS??? YOU BET YOUR SWEET BIPPY YOU CAN.

Aside from that, this RP'll also be mostly Arc-based, with some free time in-between Story Arcs to allow for that sweet character interaction that all the cool kids crave. In addition, you'll be able to suggest some Arc ideas to the Co-GMs and myself for us to go over, and we'll see if we can incorporate them from time to time.

With all that cleared up, I'll move onto the rest of the information.

Heroes: The heroic members of society who fight against Monsters and Villains to protect the civilians of Megatropolis. Heroes are generally idolized by the populace of Megatropolis, and relied upon in times of conflict. Heroes generally have some sort of unqiue aspect that allows them to do battle with Villains or Monsters, be it some kind of power suit, physical enhancements, martial / weapon proficiency, or supernatural abilities. Based on how they act in the public eye, certain Heroes may become more popular than others. In addition, not all Heroes necessarily share the exact same philosophies on things, and have differing opinions that may sometimes cause them to clash with each other. Some Heroes are also prone to forming alliances in times of extreme strife, coming together to take down greater foes and obstacles.

Even the most solitary Heroes may seek assistance from others from time to time. Maybe. Probably not, actually. Just forget I said anything.

Villains: The individuals who commit crimes both large and small, from vandilization to attempts at world dominiation. Much like Heroes, Villains can also be quite diverse and unique from each other, each with different motives, powers and plans. As one can guess, Heroes and Villains are frequently at odds with each other, with some Heroes forming serious dislikes for specific Villains, becoming each others nemesis. Even so, Villains are rarely ever killed by Heroes, as doing so would cause an uproar in the community. Instead, Villains are normally incapacitated or restrained, and then imprisoned, only for some of them to escape later, because why not?

Monsters: A somewhat loose term to describe the sentient creatures that are which threaten the tranquillity of Megatropolis. Monsters are simply defined by the fact that they are "lacking in humanity," despite the vagueness of the term. They can be previously human individuals who were transformed through scientific or magical means, or they can be sentient races that have remained dormant or hidden from the world. In almost all cases, Heroes are able to kill Monsters with impunity, as they are generally too large, dangerous and unpredictable to be imprisoned. RIP.

A list of some areas of interest within Megatropolis.

Rules

Most Roleplays have 'em. Here are ours.

0. Follow the Site Rules - Pretty self explanatory.

1. GM / Co-GM Ruling is final - Also pretty self explanatory. We have the final ruling. Don't worry though - we're not dictators.

2. No Godmodding - Basically, no ridiculously powerful characters. Your character should have the ability to be defeated - and by extension, killed.

3. No Metagaming - Don't make use of OOC knowledge not available to your character in the IC.

4. SUBMIT TO THE EMPIRE OF BONE.- DO IT.

5. No Auto-Hitting - Don't automatically hit other people's characters, it ain't cool.

6. Don't control other people's characters - Self explanatory.

7. No Killing Without Permission - Needless to say, killing people isn't a very cash money of you - even less so when you don't ask for permission. So do it. Do ask for permission before you kill another player's character. Unimportant NPCs are fair game, though.

8. Romance is allowed - Yeah. Romance can be a thing in this RP if you plan it. However, take anything 18+ to your PMs or whatever.

9. No one-liners - No posts consisting of a single sentence. We expect at least 4-5 lines of text, a decent paragraph.

10. Shoot your problems to the GMs - We'd be glad to help, just send us a PM.

11. No Crazy-Dark Characters - I don't have a problem with antisocial or some slightly darker characters - I really don't. However, I don't think I'll be accepting any character who's killed their parents at the age of 6 and embody the seven deadly sins while calling themselves the "Lord of Dark Evil".

12. Keep it somewhat unique - Simply put, try not to make too similar characters. It's fine to have say, one or two people who use Power Suits, but if everyone chooses Power Suits then it sort of changes the focus of the Roleplay. 2 - maybe 3 - people with "similar" powers is about the maximum I'll allow, if you get what I mean.

13. Be wary of the Villain count - We shouldn't run into a point where player-made Villains or Neutrals outweigh the amount of Heroes in this Roleplay, considering the fact that we as GMs can constantly create new Villains as necessary. Also, this RP is more focused around Heroes anyway.

14. Pay your taxes or be sent to the Shadow Realm - No explanation needed.

15. Thanks, and have fun.

Character Sheet

The character sheet here is pretty simple. If you want to be stylish and make alterations e.g. putting your character appearance at the top, go ahead. Because of the simplicity of the application, I'm trusting you to get the formatting down.

Name:
(Y'know, your character's name)

Alias:
(Hero Name, Villain Name, nickname or whatever)

Age:
(Your pick)

Gender:
(Boy, girl, attack helicopter, your choice)

Alignment:
(None of that D&D Alignment stuff [unless you really want to]. Just pick Hero, Villain or Neutral)

Appearance:
(Personally, I recommend you put your image at the top of the CS, but here is fine too)

Personality
(Gimme the deets)

Powers:
(Your character's signature powers unavailable to the common folk e.g. pyromancy, power suit, etc. Use the superpower wiki for ideas if you need to)

Weapons:
(Self explanatory, really)

Fighting Style:
(How does your character beat up those whippersnappers?)

Signature Moves:
(Give us a few examples of your character's signature moves. Don't worry though - they won't necessarily be the only ones you're limited to)

History:
(You can keep this pretty brief, a paragraph or two is ok)

Skills:
(Other things that don't really involve your character's powers, like cooking or something)

Weaknesses:
(You know the drill. Show us your character's weaknesses)

Nemesis:
(This optional section is mainly for Heroes. If your Hero has a particular dislike for a particular Villain, write it here. You may want to edit this one later, when there are more Villains to choose from. Or not - I don't really care either way)

Story Arc Ideas:
(In case you have any ideas for Story Arcs involving your character or something. Just briefly bullet point 'em or something)

Other:
(For, you know, other stuff)
Glad to have you guys aboard!

It looks like there's enough interest to start the Roleplay. We'll be creating the OOC in a few years: 2020 at the earliest, but maybe 2018 if we're really quick about it.
.... ugh... i'm out then...

I mean, it seems kind of... extreme to just jump out like that, since Ammokkx's post itself seems like it'd be pretty good for character interactions.

You should use it as a chance for Hayato and Ethel to establish a fierce rivalry, sort of like Joey Wheeler and Kaiba it'd be pretty cool for character development.
<Snipped quote by SilverDawn>

Oh, great! I'd like to know more about Megatropolos city itself - apart from the general concept, what's it like? What are the main sights, what are the facilities, what are the differences between different parts of town, etc.

It's a fairly high-tech city overall, but it's split into around five districts that all have a varying amount of technological advancements and prowess. I'll get into more detail when the OOCs out, but I can give a few examples:

The largest district—B-District—has an our-time modern look in spite of it's advancements.

There's also the A-District, which is the most technologically advanced district. It's the city with all the ridiculously large skyscrapers, companies and unnecessary flashing lights.

Then there's the C and D-Districts, which are the "quiet" districts. D-District is essentially your typical dock and seaside area with some housing in it, whereas C-District has a much more "quiet neighbourhood" look in comparison to the others.

Finally, there's the E-District, which is basically the slums. Very little advancement, generally quite dangerous and a pretty crappy place to be in. It's also now where the junkyard is located, which doesn't really help the situation at all.

Aside from that, there aren't any particular locations of interest per say - save for that one fast food chain called MdConalds, which is probably a reference to something. Locations of interest are basically down to you guys to create to suit with any arcs you may want to suggest, or just to anchor your characters to the world.

Yep. Hopefully that answers at least some of your questions on the city setting, since there's really not much else to tell aside from that.
Venwyn Ael

That's Some Pretty Dar—Oh, Nevermind.

A seemingly huge wave of disappointment seemed to wash over the students after they had witnessed the shortness of the Action Duel. Venwyn too was "disappointed", not from the shortness of the Duel per say, but from the surprising lack of Action Cards that were obtained and revealed. It was to be expected - he wouldn't be able to see every single possible Action Card from a single given Duel (especially one as short as the one that had just taken place), and he would have to watch multiple Action Duels in order to see more the cards in action (lel).

"Unfortunate." Venwyn said to no one in particular, although to be fair, he was pretty surrounded at the time he said this. A few of the other students had sat near or next to him to watch the Action Duel too, which would make sense considering the fact that he didn't go for some kind of out-of-the-way seat to avoid people this time like he normally would, he was just so invested in seeing those Action Cards that it didn't really matter. He could gather some of the students' names from passively listening, if "some" meant "one". Megan was one of those students. Venwyn felt that he had spoken to her at some point before, perhaps in a different timeline?

The rest of the girls however, Venwyn did not know. He could only classify them through the first impressions they gave.

One of them seemed pretty hyperactive, she seemed to share Venwyn's like for the Action Cards, which was nice. She kept glancing at him from time to time though, which Venwyn had picked up on, but didn't quite want to mention. Another was probably the most normal of the bunch, reacting exactly as Venwyn would expect from someone who had just ran up several stairs within a minute. The final girl was, uh, animated, and had already made her displeasure at the short Duel known. For some reason, that girl reminded Venwyn of volcanoes, the Baltic Sea and lone warriors.

He was also pretty certain that she had called him a weirdo, but chose to not acknowledge that.

Still, aside from being kind of... surrounded by people, there was very little that was keeping Venwyn from staying in the Action Duel Arena, which is why he decided to go somewhere else.

"I'm leaving." Venwyn said, getting up from his seat and beginning to perform the same hand seals he used to arrive in the Arena a while prior, except this time, there wasn't really enough space for runes to appear on the floor, so they kind of just appeared in the air. Before he had finished whatever dark n' dank magic he was about to do, someone—Megan, had dragged Cameryn over to the teacher to request for another Action Duel. For Venwyn, that would mean a chance to see even more of those Action Cards he so desperately wanted to see. He quickly changed his mind on leaving, opting to stay and see whether or not this second Action Duel would take place.

"...Nevermind, I'm staying." The young ninja announced, sitting down again, the runes in the air disappearing as he did so.
Said it before saying it again. Yall too focused on having good decks or bad decks.

Agreed.

But on the topic of the validity of Ben's Deck, both sides have had their, uh, say.

I think it'd be best if we let this topic rest until Ammokkx arrives, before it gets out of hand or whatnot.
As someone looking to fill the void in their life now that One Punch Man has finished the anime, i am definitely in. Okay to play a Metal Knight character who is actually a good guy? More like a combination of Metal Knight and Iron Man. A guy is a base exo-skeleton suit he can spruce up with different parts and armours?

Yep, completely possible to have a Power Suit-type character like that.

Aside from that, it's good to have this amount of interest. I'll probably give the Interest Checks about 1-2 more days before making the OOC, based on how many people we get between then.

Yo. This is an RP I thought up through a combination of my own boredom, and inspiration from One-Punch Man. If you haven't seen One-Punch Man it, go watch it. Or don't. I'm just some guy on a Roleplaying Forum. Anyway, this RP is a light-hearted one, based around life within a high-tec metropolis, called...Megatropolis, your typical Superhero City with a penchant for Monster problems and a prime target for evil plots made by Villains. In this RP variety is generally the name of the game. While the RP is primarily based around Heroes living out their lives in Megatropolis (be they solving crimes or just buying some fast food), there's also room for people to apply as a Villain, or an edgelord character who is truly ambivalent to good and evil. Of course, we'd prefer if there were more Heroes than Villains or Neutrals, since we can always just create NPC Villains to spice things up.

In terms of players, we don't really have a hard limit. If we feel that the RP's getting too big, we can always just close of character applications or whatnot.

Also, this RP is arc-based, with a few free moments between arcs to allow for character interactions that all the cool kids crave. If you've got a particular Story Arc idea that you want to put forward (be it revolving around your character somehow or not), be sure to message the Co-GMs and I, and we'll see if we can add it in sometime.

I've got nothing left to write.

Venwyn Ael

That's Some Pretty Dark Magic, Venwyn.

Venwyn watched as the events unfolded before him. Snipes Crosshair was the name of the instructor, and Venwyn could already draw parallels between Snipes and Transformer - namely their ability to speak in extremely loud volumes. This one was slightly more tolerable though, speaking in loud volumes, but in short bursts that Venwyn could predict and "prepare" for... n-not that he was ever unprepared, of course.

Unsurprisingly, Venwyn was able to stand motionlessly through essentially everything that took place outside of the Action Duel Arena: the arrival of the rest of the students, the various conversations taking place between said students, and a long-winded rant of sorts as to why a particular student seemed to abhor Action Duels (and was subsequently punished with a paper fan for said rant). It was probably one of the catalysts that had led for the teacher to start talking about his Five Rules to Dueling™. Venwyn took this opportunity to consider exactly what he knew about Action Duels. As one could imagine, Venwyn was not particularly interested in Action Dueling either - the idea of entertaining an audience was something he was just apathetic to, although it wasn't that he detested it, it just simply wasn't in his interests to participate in much other than Standard Dueling and its slight variations (although even those he would approach with slight reluctance). Still, while Action Dueling wasn't something he was interested in in a practical sense, he was still inclined to learn about it simply because it could prove to be useful—like that Fusion Summoning class.

Needless to say, he wasn't one to volunteer when the teacher had asked, and simply waited in silence for someone else to be picked. There were a large amount of volunteers - including two of his clan members, who were clearly more interested in the practical learning of Action Duels than he was. However, they weren't chosen for this Action Duel. Such is the way of fate.

Venwyn had been fairly "slow" on the draw today, he believed. One would expect him to be first to attend—well—anything, and yet for whatever reason he had only been one of the "early ones" rather than the first. This time however, would be different. As Snipes yelled about who would be participating in the Action Duel and why, Venwyn began to do complex and unusual hand seals, and with each one, a rune sharing the same colour would appear, up until there were six runes arranged in a small circular pattern around him. As soon as this pattern had been created, a black pit formed inside of the circle underneath him, and he dropped in. What a spectacle that was.

The same black pit appeared in one of the front row seats of the Action Duel Arena, and from it Venwyn rose. Not the first to make the mad dash to the audience seats, but needless to say, he was the first person to arrive. That newfangled ninja magic had won again.

(Ninjas: 1 Normies: 0)

Aside from wanting to learn about Action Dueling some more, there was another reason why Action Duels held relevance to Venwyn. The cards. Action Duels had cards which were exclusive to them. They couldn't be found in Standard Dueling. Even so, Venwyn was a Card Archiver, and putting these cards to memory (despite the fact that they were simply constructs of Solid Vision with Mass effect) was something that he "had a duty" to do.

"I want those cards." The ninja said out loud to himself, solemnly aware that it was impossible to get them.

Hell, that was one of the only things he'd said today.
