Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

"I'll be sure to warn my parents of a Gyarados who's out to get them or something." Shin responded as Rich headed over them. It felt nice to be surrounded by his friends as they talked. He had originally thought that he wouldn't run into anyone familiar until well into his journey. He watched as Sean headed back to the beach where he had caught the Magikarp. "Great seeing you too, man."

Sean came back soon after to ask them what they were doing in Sandgem town. Shin idly raised the Pokedex again. It was where Professor Rowan's laboratory was located so he had to pack up and travel all the way down. He turned to Nikko who explained that he was keen on going to Pokemon contests. Shin's eyes lit up. "That would be so cool. I've only ever seen Pokemon contests on television but I'm sure you can do it, Niko." He encouraged.

He slid the Pokedex back into his pocket and looked around. He personally knew that it might be too hard to fill the Pokedex on his own and it might get a little bumpy during the adventure, not to mention lonely if it was just Crocker and him. With a nod to himself, he decided. "You guys wouldn't be interested in joining me, would you? It's gonna be a long adventure if we want to fill up the Pokedex and it'll be a little lonely. Besides," he turned to Niko. "We can go to some Pokemon contest venues while we're at it and cheer you on!"

As the minutes passed by, Lea had a lot of thoughts raging in her head. Most of it was worry about Felix and his companions. If they ever met the Draught Sentinels, she wasn't sure if they would make it through. They were brutally effective in their actions and if they were sent to exterminate everyone who was involved in the breakout, they would do it with extreme prejudice. They had no conscience to hold them back, after all. Lea had never spoken with one— against their directive or something like that— but whenever she saw them, Lea wondered if under all that armor they were still human underneath.

They were. THat's what made it terrifying.

On the other hand, they could have taken the tram. The same tram that was in disuse for a while. It worked, barely, but Lea hadn't seen it run in so long. Some of the younger medical staff used to joke about riding it every now and then to try it out but were dissuaded from ever doing so of the fear of getting stuck in it. What if the tram had broken down? If they try to contact someone to help them get out, it wouldn't end well considering he's in a tram full of prisoners. Then again, Felix was one of their engineers and surely he wouldn't have entered if it was that dysfunctional... right?

Overthinking had never been a trait associated with herself. It was more of something her brother did. This is exactly why she had never wanted the head position of her company. You had to worry about everything. But it wasn't like she could reject the offer to become the head doctor of Alcatraz— not when it came from, technically, her boss.

Something rumbled inside the vents— skittering around. Rats? It sounded so heavy. It was then that the vent behind her was kicked out and the sound made her spin around, one hand on her gun as she frantically tried to make sense of what was happening. Her eyes landed upon a very familiar form.

"... Maji? What are you doing here?" Was the first thing that came out of her mouth. She was well aware that the Saphiste couldn't communicate with her. Dr. Dirk made sure of that. Lea didn't have authority over him aside from making sure that his patient didn't keel over and die because of a lack of stimulation. Lea visibly relaxed as she fully turned her chair to look at her, leaning forward and propping her elbows on top of her legs. "Dr. Dirk? He's not with you?" Evidently not. He doubted that man would crawl through the vents with as much skill as Maji did. Was she one of the prisoners that Felix let out? Unless the odd doctor opened the doors himself, Lea couldn't think of any other explanation.

It was then that she really took in the Saphiste's appearance. Oh dear, it looked like she had gone through a lot to get there. She gestured for Maji to fully come out of the vent and sit down on one of the chairs as she stood up herself to fetch some equipment to clean her with. "Wait right there. I'll clean you up in a bit."
Shin watched as his friends suddenly left the area, leaving both himself and Woop. He looked down at Woop who Crocker approached and the two Pokemon began mingling as normal. Well, he could wait and— suddenly someone collided into him in a hug. He looked down and saw Niko, an old friend from another town. His face grew brighter. "Niko! Hey! Didn't expect to see you in Sandgem." Before he could explain why he was there in the first place, another familiar face came into town.

"Melody, good morning! Hi Arcanine." He greeted the two and waved them over. "This is Niko, by the way. He's a friend of mine. So, yeah, the whole reason I'm here is because Professor Rowan tasked me to fill up this Pokedex." He waved the device in front of him, showing it off to everyone. He looked down at Crocker who had made his way back to his side and patted his head. "It basically scans a captured Pokemon and gives us all of the info we need to know."

As timely as ever, Sean had made his way back to the group with a Magikarp at the end of his rod. "Yeah, give me a second..." He brought the Pokedex to scan the Magikarp before turning around again so that everyone could view the results of the Pokedex. Unfortunately, it would seem that the Magikarp only knew Splash as a move. "Works just like that! I can scan your Pokemon too if you want? So we can fill it up faster?" He suggested to the others.

"Good day sir!" Shin greeted as he opened the door to the lab with Crocker following closeby. He would be lying if he said he was a little disappointed that Professor Rowan wasn't there but he wasn't one to look the gift horse in the mouth... or however that saying went. He listened intently to how the Pokedex worked, asking questions when he felt appropriate. Once it was all said and done, Shin tested it out on his Croagunk— and just like that, the Croagunk's information was discovered in the Pokedex, listing out its very first Pokemon.

He turned back to the researcher, beaming, and nodded his head. "Will do! Thank you sir, have a nice day!" It was hard to temper down the excitement he was feeling. He was given such a big opportunity. If he completed this, he might get a pretty good reward!

All...

He scrolled down the Pokedex and the endless black silhouettes seemed more intimidating than ever. Crocker prodded his arm and Shin chuckled, looking down at his friend. "Good thing it's summer vacation huh?" He looked up to see Sean walking up from the beach. He grinned and gave the boy a wave. "This?" He asked as he brought the device up. "It's a Pokedex. Professor Rowan... or well his assistant... gave it to me just now. It's used to record Pokemon entries by capturing them and the professor and his group entrusted me with filling it up with as many Pokemon as I can." With a pause, his eyes drifted towards Sean's Wooper.

"Here! Let me show you." Shin stood beside his friend and lined up the Pokedex's camera with the Wooper. Just like with Crocker, the Pokedex analyzed Woop and out came all of the information about the Pokemon. "See? Pretty cool, isn't it?"

@Spin The Wheel
Shin is also gonna be great buddies with y'all and try to keep them out of trouble and failing at it.

Lea had reviewed it multiple times— patients and staff as well as the cell blocks she never got reports from anymore. It was as if they had all just disappeared. It didn't take a genius to guess what had happened to them. They were likely eliminated for some unknown reason. Multiple blocks had already gone dark and the medical staff was getting more and more short-staffed by the day. They were dropping like flies and no one could tell her exactly what was happening.

The Warden had disappeared without a single alert. The Captain had decided to go into isolation within the bridge with a few, select crew members. Lea hadn't received anything from them ever since. Lea had lingered around the entrance to the bridge multiple times but after a warning, she stopped. Any attempts she had in contacting the bridge had been severed. It would have been nice if they at least contacted the other department heads before making any drastic changes in their routine. But nothing. The Draught Sentinels remained in their silent vigil and Lea could feel it— whenever something went wrong in the ship, they knew what was happening.

The Alcatraz was a prison for anyone on the ship. Lea just had the privilege of being able to walk around instead of being behind bars.

She pressed her fingers against the bridge of her nose, letting out a frustrated sigh. Less and less of her medical crew were willing to be sent out to another block, fearing that they would be the next ones to disappear without a trace. However, they needed to make sure that the prisoners were healthy. It was just reports of the prisoners coughing and she sent over a team to check up on them. Routine. Then they went dark. Then the next. Then the next. It all started with the damn, fucking coughing and they were no closer to knowing what exactly is happening.

As Lea leaned back on her chair, the intercom crackled to life. She sprung back, leaning over to listen to the message that was coming through.

"Lea, it's Felix. I don't have much time to talk, but I'm on my way up there with a few prisoners. It's an emergen-"

"Felix? Felix, what's..."

There was no way she could respond to him as the connection was severed, the silence of the intercom felt like looming dread. She stood up from her position, the wheeled chair sliding behind her. Prisoners? He didn't have the authority to let them out as an engineer. But if there was one thing that she had learned over the past years about Felix, it was that he wouldn't do such a thing without reason. With how quickly their transmission had been cut off, she could theorize that this had something to do with the Sentinels. She eyed the door warily as if expecting them to burst out and apprehend her for her communications with Felix. A few seconds passed by and nothing happened. Instead, the thundering footsteps of the Sentinels were rushing down the hallway, undoubtedly heading towards the site where Felix was. She opened her door and watched them pass by.

That was too many for a small group of prisoners. Did Felix break out more?

Lea could speculate all she wanted but she had to know what the emergency was. As long as the group made it to her office, then they could discuss whatever was happening to the ship. If they could make it there at least. They could be coming from two different sides— the area where the Sentinels had just marched through or through the use of the tram. Was it even still operational? Probably. She grabbed the emergency handgun that was provided to her in case of emergencies like this. She thought of proceeding to meet them at the tram but it might be too suspicious for her to leave, especially if their communication had been tampered with. So she settled back in her chair, waiting with bated breath until the Sentinels finally left her area.
I'll work on a CS soon!

And I agree, I feel like money would be fun to play around and them having to ration what money they've scrounged up to make sure all of them get to have pokeballs and stuff.
Sinnoh sounds good to me!
