Bio

Welcome to my Bio, random person. Yeah, my name is pretty redundant (Polaris - North Star, North... well north.)

Things you need to know about me?

I live in the Philippines. I'm a student and life gets a bit hectic so please understand if I suddenly become more sporadic when it comes to replies.

I'm involved in a lot of fandoms (mostly anime) and as long as it gets my interest, I'll join. My range is from free to casual [or well, as long as I can get it from the post I'm replying to]. I'm more of a fantasy kid than a slice of life but I think I can join something like that. I'm not much of a romance writer so I keep myself to PG-13 and not exceed anything else.

While one of the clones was out of commission, Shavis was at least thankful that the other one was singed but still alive. The clone picked up the sword enchanted with fire, turning to the spearman as both he and Shavis stood up.

Shavis narrowly avoided getting speared through the gut and she hissed as it tore through clothing. Despite the minor injury, Shavis used the spearman's small retreat to take back his spear to mount her own counterattack— with lightning crackling across her gauntlets and activating the gauntlet's own enchantment, she aimed a more devastating blow straight to the bandit's center mass— making an attempt to either incapacitate him then and there or at least send him skidding back.

She didn't let him rest if he was still on his feet as she charged forward and aimed an uppercut from her left hand to truly try and finish the fight.

As Shavis continued to fight the spearman, two monstrous beings appeared on the field. Shadar, who was currently in full control of Shavis's clone, decided to switch targets seeing as his own master was preoccupied and seemed to be handling things well.

The clone wielded tested the blade for one moment before making an attempt to run up at the centipede— hoping to use its much larger frame to be able to hop on while it's distracted to push the fire sword in between its hardened chitin and stab it right at its flesh.

When Hector arrived as their third, Shavis beamed and waved at him, glad to have a familiar face closeby. She had a better gauge of his abilities which made fighting with him easier. Oh, much like Einer, it seems that Hector was some sort of noble as well? Wow, hotshots.

Shavis idly listened to the conversation between Imre and Ruecian. It was good to hear about considering she hadn't heard of the story of what happened there yet. The origin of the plague had disappeared? That was worrying. Maybe an investigation into it would be launched? The noble even claimed that another village had been decimated from a monster attack.

Huh...

The vehicle stopped and Shavis immediately activated her gauntlets on reflex. "Aw, and here I thought we would be able to enjoy the countryside sight." She jokingly said as she exited behind Ruecian to see that there were, indeed, a couple of folks who seemed like they wanted to tussle. A kidnapping in process? For ransom of the noble? Ruecian seemed a little pissed and Shavis decided to keep her mouth shut regarding that.

"Roger that!" Shavis called out as the brigands made their first move at Ruecian. Pretty brave, really. "Hector, Einer. I'm gonna charge forward, please make sure Miss Molnar is within your sight. Thanks!" With that, she turned to her own attackers— three of them advancing with enchanted weaponry. Her eyes widened before she snickered as she raised her gauntlets. Two copies of Shadar came out from behind her, snarling. A sword. An axe. A spear. Fire. Ice. Poison, perhaps? Earth?

Imbuing herself with lightning to increase her speed and charged towards the spearman, hoping to catch him off-guard with the speed to deliver a lightning-imbued punch straight into his gut. As soon as she made her charge, both copies of Shadar ran forward and pounced at both the swordsman and the axeman.
I'd like to throw my hat into this. I haven't RPed in Fallout for a while now.

Oh, that was news to Shavis. Did she just not remember that Einer was also nobility? And from what Ruecian said, also from that area as well? "Does put me at ease. Thanks, Einer." She snickered as she patted his shoulder before turning her full attention to their combat instructor. He didn't seem all too willing to come onto the mission with them but it didn't seem like he had that much of a choice.

"I always look sharp!" She said confidently with a grin. "I'm just gonna go get prepped real quick and I'll meet you guys in a bit." With that, she gave them a two fingered salute and hustled to get her coat cleaned. Thanks, Scarlett.

Once she was more situated with herself, Shavis met back with Einer and Reucian and headed out for their mission. She was curious about what kind of escort mission this would end up as. She even wondered if it would be a little disappointing for the young lady that they weren't the same people who went on that mission. Did she request them just to pull some stories out of them? She didn't voice out any of her thoughts during their short walk to the outskirts of the city, allowing the silence to permeate between them. Idly, she wondered what Hector was up to as well.

No time to think about that as a fancy carriage finally came into view where the young lady seemed to be waiting alongside her servant. She raised a hand in greeting but Reucian seemed to have the introductions covered. Aha, she sounded a tad disappointed that the local heroes didn't take up the mission aside from Ruecian. Understandable, considering she did request for them specifically.

Nevertheless, Shavis grinned widely. "Sorry the others were... uh... spoken for but I assure you we're just as capable!" ...Probably! "Name's Shavis, pleasure to meet you both." She responded with a bow of her head. Reucian wasn't being too formal but Shavis hoped she was being overly casual. Last thing she wanted was to fail etiquette and pass everything else.

She stood back and rubbed the back of her neck. "Er, I would like to ask what the route we're taking is. I could send some overhead reconnaissance ahead of us to make sure it's safe." She suggested. Shavis knew absolutely nothing about what this mission was going to be but if it was as simple as an escort mission, she could plan a bit ahead of time so they weren't caught off guard or anything like that.

Shavis followed Einer as they both awkwardly shuffled out of Nadia's wrecked office, bidding the woman farewell and good luck with arranging it back to how it was originally. What a disaster of a situation and she was no closer to understanding what Nadia was going on about when it came to the combination of Galdr and Alchemy. As the door closed behind them, Shavis let out a breath and looked down at Einer, and offered him a half-hearted grin.

"Crazy day, huh?" She commented with a shake of her head. At least requesting to get her clothes cleaned up wouldn't take a long time; though, it was much more convenient when she had Patia around. Then again, if she hadn't tried to become a Reaver, she probably wouldn't be in a situation where she had to take care of Scarlett for an elongated amount of time. "You know what we need, Einer? We need a breath of fresh air! I'm gonna head over to the job boards and see what's up. You coming?"

Upon receiving the affirmation, Shavis began her trek toward the main hall with Shadar shrinking in size and draping himself across her shoulders. When they arrived at the main hall, it was to catch the tail end of Renee and Lanus's conversation about which mission they'd have to pick which ended up in a rock-paper-scissors competition to see whose mission they'd go on. Renee ended up on top and they would undertake the missing children's mission. Leon apparently would go with them.

"Well, if you're not taking the escort mission..." Shavis said as she walked up to the requests, giving a greeting to the administrators and what seemed to be another new recruit? She turned her attention back to the task at hand. A rather pricey reward, low rating and a big chance to see more sights? "Yeah, definitely signing up for this one. Don't know much about nobility, especially in The Republic, but the rule of thumb is just to act polite and respectful and you should be fine, right?" Though it seemed like she was addressing no one in particular, she did turn back to her earlier companion. "You in, Einer? We can discuss Miss Nadia's crazy synergy research if nothing happens."

It was all unfortunate timing really. Putting all her attention on Scarlett, fully believing there was only one remaining enemy on the battlefield, was not her best decision in life. As the ground shook and the makara that had been following them, driven practically insane by their aggression and the toxins that had infiltrated their system, burst through the floor, Shavis had to turn around to look at what had happened. There the mercenary was viciously torn apart by the makara, spraying blood and guts across the floor.

But that was not her immediate concern. It should have been Scarlett, in all honesty, but the makara had something different in mind. Two had begun to go after her and Shavis jumped back, the instinct to protect herself overriding the danger that was Scarlett. She reared back a hand, lightning enveloping her fist and drove it into one of the makara, releasing the gauntlet's energy into it and sending it into the opposite side of the room. At the same time, a Shavis clone split from her body, vaulting over her and driving her elbow into the other makara. The clone grew claws, more reminiscent of Shadar rather than its actual form, and began to claw into the crocodile while the clone was still above it.

Shavis could barely breathe, feeling the exhaustion of battle crawling into her, especially in an environment that assaulted her senses at every turn. She raised her arm against her nose, hoping it would at least give her some reprieve as she turned her attention to where Keith had been. Scarlett had taken the initiative to join the feeding frenzy, striking some of the makara with her spikes. Iron and excrement mingled with the poison-filled air around them and it took Shavis's entire willpower not to vomit on the spot.

However, the makara's demeanor seemed to have shifted. Instead of their outward aggression, they were now backing off and trying to escape like they were reminded that they were not the bigger predator in this neck of the swamps. Not right now, at least. Whether or not Scarlett realized this, or she had done this all on purpose, she continued to feast on the makara that had been trying to escape.

"That's... one way to calm her down, I guess." The brawler mumbled. Her own familiar split from her, the white tiger stepping onto the ground and standing beside his master. Scarlett laid there, content with her meal, and Shavis wondered if she would have to carry her all the way back. The mission itself seemed more or less a success even if they mostly failed on their secondary mission of not harming the makara while they were investigating. "Any bright ideas on how to get that antidote to the rest of the makaras?" Shavis asked, gesturing toward the electric blue liquid.

Her body stiffened at Keith's answer— toxic magical waste. That answer solidified the theory that it was the reason why the makaras had become more and more aggressive— they were losing territory to whatever this was. Lapis was quick on the draw, anger flashing as she began to interrogate the mercenary before stopping and gagging at the stench. She scrunched her nose. "I'm trying to hold my breath as long as possible." She muttered as an answer. "It's best to get this over with as quick as possible."

She fell back to Lapis's side, the events taking a toll on her mental state. Shavis couldn't blame her. If she hadn't been handling Scarlett for a while now, even she would have been shocked at the sudden turn of events. "Let's just say that Scarlett is a bit different from us." Shavis wasn't personally privy to too much information and she wasn't sure if she was even able to share it with anyone else. It was Scarlett's choice to tell anyone about it and she was going to respect that.

Now her attention was split.

Lapis was actively pressuring Keith and the situation was quickly devolving into a fight. Normally, Shavis would have been all for it. The moment Keith said that it was him who had dumped the waste and his disregard for the ecosystem, Shavis was ready to punch the living daylights out of him. However, another problem had arisen. Her ear flickered for a moment when the sound of something being fired invaded her senses and she quickly moved out of the way, not that it was aimed towards her.

The blade had gone straight into Keith and she blinked. "Oh... fuck."

Like Scarlett, or the Malfested Cat, had mentioned, Keith was regenerating at a faster rate than normal. Way faster rate. Before them, the wound began to stitch itself back together. "Lapis, Hector, make sure Keith over there doesn't get away." Shadar had stalked inside, sensing the danger that was now even more present. "If I start getting beat up... please help." She told her companions before extending a hand towards Shadar. Slowly, the familiar began to fade and its magical energy began to fuse with Shavis's.

While Scarlett got closer to the ground, fully adopting a feral cat's form, Shavis placed herself between her and the others. She wasn't sure what this so-called Alpha Dominance was. She had thought she would never have to use this knowledge. But hey, if it's anything like subduing animals, then she just had to make sure the other party knew she wasn't terrified of them.

"Stand down, Scarlett." Shavis commanded, summoning all of the authority she could muster from inside her as she stood firm and tall before her feral charge, exuding the combined magical energy of both herself and her familiar. She studied Scarlett's movements, ready to defend and retaliate at a moment's notice if she decided to do something.

The onslaught of makaras didn't quite end with the first wave and Shavis called her familiar back to her side for extra claws on the case as her repressant began to fade which led some of the makaras to finally pay attention to her. As bubbles began to surface near the lake, Shavis prepared a strike before pulling back when a man emerged from the waters. Electing to ignore him for now, she turned her attention fully back to the makaras to aid her own familiar with holding them back. Thankfully, Lapis had come to aid them but even with their added numbers, the beasts were quickly overwhelming them.

"I appreciate a sense of humor in these trying times!" Shavis commented to the peculiar man. She stayed behind the group, making sure that none of the makara would grab someone from behind. A shack soon came into view and she rushed inside with the others and immediately let out a cough as the stench of chemicals assaulted her senses. She began to wave the air in front of her in a futile attempt to expel the smell.

Scarlett immediately went to work. She was much more familiar with these things but Shavis also kept in mind that she was likely doing this for her own sake— did Scarlett even properly feed? While she was doing this, Shavis walked over to the mysterious man. "So, what's your deal? What are you doing, all the way out here with these aggressive makara around?" She asked, crossing her arms and eyeing the man warily.

As Hector said, these chemicals might as well be the reason why the makara were rampaging. This was a laboratory in the middle of a swamp. Could some chemicals be leaking into the swamp? If that was the case, then whoever owned this laboratory was at fault and they were honor-bound to put this entire operation to a stop. "And how'd you know about this place? You mentioned this being a... 'home field advantage?'"

Before she could even continue with that train of thought, Scarlett had dunked her head into a vat of chemicals, and Hector immediately moved to get her out of there. It took a moment for Shavis to process what was happening and she couldn't help the smile that cracked on her face, removing her from the serious matter on their hands. "Scarlett, you know you shouldn't be sticking your head into mysterious vats of chemicals!" She attempted a reprimand but her tone was more amused than anything. Still, she made sure to keep herself close to the man to be able to quickly move onto him if he did anything suspicious.

As Scarlett began to take the lead for everyone, Shavis merely listened. She had always been delegated to the role of a follower and the Belua was more than happy to continue on that path. She took a step back as the table was spawned before taking a closer look at the vials presented to them. Repressants. Aha, so this is what Scarlett was so busy doing. "Right-o. Wish we could somewhat avoid having to kill them but if worse comes to worse, glad I can avoid getting attacked immediately." Though it might actually be useful if she wanted to scout out into their breeding grounds if ever.

Shavis studied the elder for a moment as Scarlett made her way out of the house to go fish. Before she could get out of earshot, however, Shavis shouted out. "Her name's Lapis you know! And damn it, get some for me too!" She let out an amused huff as she turned back to the others.

"I suppose having the villagers focus mainly on defense would be for the best since they don't have a lot of manpower to trade around." Shavis turned to Lapis, giving her a small shrug. "And yeah I guess so. I sent out a couple of scouts earlier and uh-" She moved to the door, peeking out into the village before extending her arm out. One of the few birds had returned and dissipated in her hands. "Yep, looks like we're in the clear for now. We have a bit of time. Let's go, Hector?"

Preparations were being made for a defensive perimeter but Shavis patrolled around with Hector to at least be close by to Scarlett. Thanks to Hector's quick thinking with his wisp, tracking her down wasn't all that difficult. "You think fighting the makaras would be hard? I never really threw hands with a bunch of crocs, you know?"

And maybe it was almost fate that when she had claimed that, fighting from a distance could be heard. Her posture stiffened as her head snapped towards the sound. One of her spirit scouts landed on her shoulder. "Looks like Scarlett's in trouble. I'm gonna go ahead and you find a perch?" She asked, already popping open the repressant and applying it to herself. "See you around. Stay safe."

With a crackle of lightning, Shavis turned heel and rushed toward the direction where Scarlett had both been sensed and seen. Her ear twitched, picking up movement from somewhere else as the makara's cries seemed to have alerted its brethren. She slowed down to a stop, motioning for Shadar to make his way around the perimeter. Her familiar would be capable of escaping the makara's clutches if it ever came to that. With ease, Shavis climbed up to one of the trees to get a better vantage point only to spot that Scarlett had not only managed to take down the beast but was actively feasting on it already.

She sat there for a moment to continue observing Scarlett. Shavis was hardly surprised. Her worries shifted from Scarlett's triumphant battle to the incoming makara backup. She kept herself atop the trees, scanning the area carefully and waiting for a moment to strike. A downward force added with her magic should be enough to take down one of them in one swift strike and thanks to the repressant, they will be none the wiser. Considering the makara naturally used lightning-based magic, Shavis decided to forego its usage aside from aiding her own physicality.
