@Polybius Nothing from me right now. I'm always a fan of God/Worldbuilding rp's, been in a few. If you need inspiration just look to any Divinus rp, those guys are great.

I've definitely noticed the Divinus RP before! It's really impressive what they are doing with that. I'm trying to avoid a system with this game, or maybe something incredibly rules lite. We'll see.

@Shard Thanks for your interest! I had planned on the Primordial Gods (Chaos, Time, Death and Life) having control over these domains. An interesting storyline might be about your god usurping the Death Domain. (I mentioned under the Guidelines that the primordial domains are not to be chosen). As for what sort of domain, it can be anything really. I'll have some more info if this gets a proper IC. We'll definitely talk about what sorts of gods we want to play in the OOC for better group cohesion.

Welcome. This role play will take place at the birth of a new plane of existence. Your character is a deity, one of the children of the Primordials. You are an immortal, with incredible power to shape the world. In this game you can expect to: Create a god with divine power. Create the world, populate it with people, (or smite them), interact with your fellow deities, and pretty much anything else a god can or would want to do. The idea is to create a story, not to 'win'. Gods are immortal, but they can be killed by other gods. I would like to see players come and go, new gods rise and fall (perhaps that is too ambitious), and I would like to have a world begin and eventually end. Below are some guidelines that I have sketched out to get started. These will be revised and changed depending on the level of interest this sort of RP attracts. Thanks for reading!

_Guidelines

I. Your god must have a clear 'Domain' This is the source and relevance of your power. Domains will change over time. In the beginning, it would make sense for domains to be aspects of nature, such as FIRE or WATER. The Primordials domains are not to be chosen, but they might be conquered...

II. Over time, your domain can change. You must be clever in how you adjust your domain. For instance, the god of Oceans might to decide to include Trade or Storms in his domain. There are a lot of good RPing implications for this I think.

II. Your god must have AMBITION. This is key in the dramatic narrative. Is your god evil? Benign? Disgustingly pure and good? Make sure you give the other players a strong sense of what drives your character.

III. There will be more guidelines in place to keep player actions balanced. GM (that's me) has final say.

IV. There will be some world-building involved, but once something is created it is no longer yours to control. Other gods may influence your creations.

V. These guidelines will most certainly be adjusted if interest is gathered.

@PolybiusAre you going to kick off the IC btw? Maybe a post detailing the coup/massacre by the Junta on the capital and the royal survivors fleeing to all ends and declaring themselves emperor or empress? That is if we're still going for that idea.

Right to the CS section. My disdain for nationsheets may not be well known. I prefer to focus on writing to be honest.

So I was thinking about Concordat ships and their brains, and I thought it might be really cool to have a sort of Flying Dutchman type thing going on. An old Concordat battleship operated by an insane Vacare brain, running around randomly slaughtering undefended civilians before disappearing into the Void?

Not sure who would control it (GM maybe?) but it could be a fun sort of Random Event for different factions to deal with.

As for the nobility, I figured it would be a mixed situation. With certain sectors under direct Imperial/Bureaucratic control, some others are in the hands of the Imperial Authority and others (like Virezhir) having this neo-feudal arrangement you're talking about.

This exactly. We can figure out the details as we go.

As for cartography, I propose we use @gorgenmasts idea about tracts of Imperial territory. With the center being the core worlds of the Empire (1st tract, orbit, ring w/e) etc.

I think people are confusing The Church of Ankh-Sah with the Followers of the Void, I interpreted them as two different factions. Not sure the followers of the void are in fact so much religious as they are simply experts on the void, closer to scientist really. I could be wrong of course.

Also if anyone looks into the void section it does state some of the powers Vacare have though not in much detail.

I've left both of these factions intentionally vague.

The vacare are jedi without any of the trappings of light/dark. They are simply powerful.

I think we should focus on the internal conflict of the factions and forces within the empire. It's less Warhammer 40k and more Romance of the 3 Kingdoms.

Primary Resource:
The Andronicus system is home to agricultural and mineral worlds, but the family estates stretch across the galaxy, many of which were seized or destroyed following the death of the Emperor. The Bureaucracy has seized the 'Imperial Treasury' and many of the liquid assets of House Andronicus.

Armed Forces
The Andronicus system is protected by a token force of Destroyers, Corvettes and Fighters and the Battleship Chronos. The system is heavily protected by fortifications along the Janos belt.

Imperial Assessment

Senator,
The Consort Nevine, a favorite of the late Emperor has managed to escape to the Andronicus system with her daughter, infant son and a handful of retainers. This is of little concern to the Senate. Her and her offspring have no legitimate claim to the throne. What concerns me, and the reason for this communique, is Governor Titus Kayes. His popularity after the battle of the Heraspides has secured his place in popular 'folk lore' as a man capable of a great many things. I do not know his mind or ambitions. He carries the name Andronicus which may or may not resonate soundly with the people after the death of the Emperor. Whatever the case, the material wealth of House Andronicus is greatly diminished and control of the Imperial Authority out of their hands. For the time being, we can assume no attempts will be made to immediately take back control of the Empire. I recommend re-evaluation within 1 anni.
