Hello all and welcome to my Menagerie! Here I have compiled a long list of RP and Couple ideas. If any of them seem interesting to you, give me a holler! Also, if you have any ideas of your own, feel free to drop by and put them forward!
For one-on-one I prefer doing RPs based around two male characters becoming romantically involved. Now, I'm not talking pure romance or anything like that, and in fact pure romance tends to bore me. I like good, long, drawn out plots with good writing and complex storylines. Also, I'm more than willing to do non couple centered RPs, however the hopeless romantic in me will most likely find a way to have a partner somewhere in the plot somehow. *Grin* I love good stories with my romance.
Proper spelling, punctuation, and grammar please and thank you!
I enjoy Fantasy most, but I can do Sci-Fi, Horror, and the occasional Modern. Not the best as moderns though. I prefer some sort of fantastic element, like mutants. Now let me explain what to expect below.
First, there is a section of simple couple types. For example: Demon x Angel, King x Commoner, and so on. The section right below that is a collection of actual story ideas ranging from simple to relatively elaborate. I'm more than willing to make changes if you find a plot interesting but wanna tweak it a bit. These plots have a romantic base to them. And finally, that smallish section at the bottom are my non-relationship based RP ideas. These ideas can have romance, but are not contingent upon it.
I think that's all for now. On a final note I just wanna say, I've been RPing for a very long time. Since the days of staying up late into the night with my Dad's D&D group to the day I discovered online RPing, I have searched for RPers I can rely on and who would stick with me to the end. I understand that RL can come in and mess up the best laid plans for our futures, but if you could at least send me a short message that you have to go on old before vanishing for weeks/months, that would be greatly appreciated. Also, I like longs posts. They are ideal, and the writer in me actually get's migraines when hit with one liners. So please, stick with me, and put some flourish into it! If you would like examples as to what I mean just ask, I can link you :P
(Note) I seem to have found the post length limit, but I need to add plots as they come to me. So please look at my second post to see more plot ideas as I will need to add my new ones there!

~The fox youkai has always protected the local villages from anything he can, but over the years people forgot he even existed. Drawn deep into depression over not being loved like he once was, the youkai falls into a deep sleep inside a statue of his fox self in a small shrine deep in the woods. As the years go by, he slumbers, feeding the land with his sleeping essence and keeping it healthy and green. It's all he can do while he waits for his life to be given meaning again. At last one day he awakes, when his shrine is bulldozed over, crushing his statue. His sadness turns to anger and he begins causing accidents for the crew, some of them being badly injured. When he is at last caught, too weak to escape for a lack of food or offerings, one of the men takes pity on him. Unable to prove that he's actually responsible for the accidents, the authorities send him home with the man who, after feeding him, is shocked to discover that the fox is indeed not human. As part of a world forgotten, the youkai doesn’t know if he can fit into this world of technology and hard unfeeling cities.
~The people have long served an honored their deity, the phoenix. However they have no idea that it's actually just a very powerful youkai. No one has ever seen him directly, and when they have he's always been flying out of sight like a blaze fire on the wind. However, despite his protections, other youkai covet his lands and a group of them come together to remove him from his station. The phoenix falls to earth, beaten and broken, outside one of he major temples. The monks there do not believe him when he tells them who he is, and he is thrown out of the village for spouting heresy. One of the young monks however feels bad for him and takes him home. Once the phoenix feels well enough he holds the monk to his vows, made when he became part of the temple of the phoenix. As the lands begin to suffer, many people lose their faith in the phoenix youkai, and with the monk in tow, he must travel and renew their faith in his if he has any hope of regaining his throne form the hands of the youkai who are now tormenting his people.
~The youngest son of the pharaoh has always been shunted aside as a nuisance. His older brothers got all of the attention, and he spent most of his life alone. One day he decided to run away into the desert, but after a run in with a group of bandits, he is left for dead. It is then that a jackal youkai came to him, and offered to help him in exchange for his loyalty. He will aid the boy in any way he can, as long as the boy keeps him by his side. Thinking himself hallucinating, he agrees, and the youkai takes him to a hidden oasis. Once the boy is better he returns home, forgetting at first about his promise. He's reminded of it quite quickly though when he returns to his room and finds a nude man with jackal ears an tail resting in his bed. His dismay is soon turned around however when the man shows that he can indeed aid the boy in his endeavors and the youngest son soon begins getting more respect around the palace. Only he can see the youkai, who stays by his side almost every second of the day in one form or the other. However it isn't long before the older brothers begin to resent the young man and the first attempt is made on his life. Because of their agreement the youkai vows to keep him safe, but being unable to leave his side means he can't hunt. The prince must feed the youkai is he is to remain strong, and cater to whatever the youkai needs.
~Youkai live just outside the realm where humans dwell, but from time to time a tear appears and the two races come face to face. Throughout the years, the humans have responded with hostility. Frightened by the youkai's appearances and mannerisms, they have adopted a “Kill on sight” mentality for the non humans, and the youkai have grown to hate the humans in kind. However most youkai prefer to be left alone and do their best to avoid conflict. On one such occasion when the veil tears, a young hunter get trapped in the youkai's realm. He tries to stay under the radar, but he can't manage that for long, He breaks into a house, trying to hide from a group of enforcers. The occupant is less than happy with the invasion but despite his strong distaste for hunters, he offers to let him stay in exchange for stories about the human realm. The youkai has long been curious about the other realm, collecting everything he can on the subject. The hunter sees no harm in it, and the sight of the few human elements sitting around the youkai's home helps with his homesickness. The hunters in his team on the other side are angry, thinking that he had been captured, and begin planning a massive attack on the youkai realm.
~The only friends the boy had growing up where the youkai who would come visit him regularly. His father was an exorcist, but the boy never wanted to follow in his footsteps. However he was forced into training, and after a while the youkai stopped visiting him. Heartbroken over the loss of his only friends, and angry at his father, the young man focuses on his exorcism training and completes his training as the youngest exorcist ever. He works hard at his craft, trying to bury the pain, and soon every youkai knows his name, and shudders upon hearing it. He does not differentiate between peaceful and violent youkai, growing colder and colder, until one day he comes up against a humanoid youkai who is far too powerful for him. Luckily the youkai is bored, and has no desire to kill him. Instead he proposes making a pact with the boy. He will help him take down other youkai, more powerful ones, but in exchange he must leave the peaceful ones alone. Seeing it as the only way to save his life, the boy agrees. The youkai moves into the garden outside him temple, and he now must keep his father from finding out what he's done, and just what his new “Friend” is.
~The realms of light and darkness have fallen out of balance, and a youkai of darkness is sent to the human world to find out why. The human world is the center point between light and dark, and as such both sides keep a close eye on what's happening there. However the youkai can not figure out the source of the imbalance on his own and has to resort to taking on a human form and passing among the mortals. Even in human form he can feel that there is far too much light and tracks the source to a company. However as a human he can't just waltz right in, especially with several light youkai in human form guarding it. Instead he tracks one of the humans who works there home and in the night enters his body. He settles in the back of the man's mind and watches closely as the man goes to work like any other day the next morning. The man however is a low level worker and he gets nothing of use. Deciding to try someone else he tries to leave the man but finds he can't go more than a few feet away before his body freezes. He is now bound to a man who has no idea that youkai ever existed, and who doesn’t appreciate that he now must share his home and mind with someone who sees him as mere mortal, beneath his consideration and respect.
~The youkai feeds off of sadness and other negative emotions. He doesn't want it to be that way, it's just how he is. He's not ashamed of it, but he does wish that for once someone could be happy to see him. Other youkai are welcomed openly into people's homes, but youkai like him are forced to live on the streets, in the shadier parts of town if they want to survive. A long time ago, a wise man who saw that the war between humans and youkai would only lead to more and more bloodshed, cast a spell. This spell spread to every youkai and human, making it so that one could not live without the other. The youkai needed to feed off the humans' emotions, and the humans needed the energy they give off. This stopped the war cold, and ever since the races have gotten along very well. No one really wanted to keep around a youkai that needs them to feel bat to survive, so instead the sadness youkai spend their time going from slum to slum, trading their energy for some time around people feeling down. No none likes to think of this, so most humans pretend that the shady parts of every town don't exist. That part of town however is very real to him, and he's tired of it. Unable to take it any more he decides to just starve to death. However after a few nights without eating he comes across a man about to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. The sadness of this man rejuvenates him and on instinct he saves him. This seems to upset the man even more, and despite the fact that he doesn’t like seeing people in so much pain, he can't help but wanting to keep the man alive, even if it's against his will.
~He has always lived as a village stray. Content to live off scraps thrown to him by the local vendors and occasional happy family who thinks he's cute, the youkai has felt no need to reveal himself to the world. Others of his kind had tried in the past, with steadily worse and worse results, until finally there was a silent consensus to never do it again. It's been a long time since the last one tried, and it's now considered a great betrayal to even think of doing it. However, soon after moving on to a new town to avoid anyone questioning how an animal could live so long, his contentment wavers. A boy passes under his sun bathing wall almost every day, and the youkai begins to notice that each day he had fresh cuts and bruises. Eventually curiosity gets the better of him and he follows the young man. Just outside his school in a back alley the boy is jumped by a pack of other boys. The ensuing scuffle adds to the injuries littering the boy's body, and the youkai's heart goes out to him. This happens several days in a row, in various places around town, and finally the youkai can't take it any more. In a back lot, away from prying eyes, the young man is jumped yet again and in a blaze of fangs and claws the youkai transformed and attacked the other youths. Once they had fled, he casts a glance at the boy before feeling and reverting into his animal form. He aid the boy a few more times without him being able to stop the youkai after the fight from running off, but eventually he starts to recognize the eyes staring down at him from above the wall nearly every day on his way to school.
~The amount of trash piling up at the bottom of his pond has become too much. A wealthy man hires a company to come and clean the pond on his estate, but on one of their dives they discover a strange fish. It seems to almost be sleeping, allowing for the men to just pick it up and show it to the wealthy man. He's intrigued by the find and after purchasing a large tank and fitting to mimic the pond, he has the men place the fish inside. The next day he comes down to find a nearly human young man sleeping at the bottom of the tank, the only signs that he's not human are scales around his wrists and ankles, and high pointed ear surrounded by a mass of green hair. When he at last wakes, he's overjoyed that the pond has been cleaned, but says he doesn't want to go back there. On a whim the man says he can stay as long as he likes. Unfortunalty for him the young man is a youkai prince, and his parents will not abide their son living among “Those filthy humans”. What follows is a series of aquatic based incidents that make the man question what's happened to his once perfect life.
~The hierarchy has always been very clear: Light and Dark youkai → Elemental youkai → Animal Based youkai → Humans. No one has ever questioned this. The ruling family consists of one Light king or queen, paired with a youkai of the opposite type and gender. The elder prince too, has never questioned this, but a chance encounter will change his mind. Having spent his entire life in the palace, the king decides that the young man needs to go out into the world and mingle with the beings he will one day rule. He is at first very reluctant, but accepts it as one of the duties he must perform as the heir apparent. While out in the world an event rocks his perceptions of the class system. There is a fire at a roadside inn, and to his astonishment several elemental youkai risk their lives to save a family of humans. One of the young air elementals dies in the blaze, and the humans morn his loss as if he were one of their own. When he finally returns to the palace the prince resumes he duties as if nothing is wrong, but on frequent trips into town to study the people more, he meets a young man who is more than willing to speak with the undercover prince about why things need to change, and how the word isn't as simple as he grew up believing.
~Fire is a living thing, or so he's always believed. In order to prove it to his classmates and professors the young man decides to try and summon the life from the flame. They all think he's stupid, saying there's no such thing as magic, but he will not be deterred. On the day of his report he prepares the room for the summoning, using summoning circles from old books and charts. The spell works, much to the class's amazement, but rather than summoning a little flame spirit like he thought he would, he brings forth a young fire youkai. In the transition the youkai lost all his memories, and latches on to the first thing he sees. That just so happened to be the boy, who is now stuck with the fire youkai until he can figure out how to send him back to where he came from. However things are made more difficult when his professor calls in the government and the two are forced to flee to keep the youkai from ending up on someone’s slab. Soon however news got out and there is a world wide man hunt for the youkai who, being non human, is seen as nothing more than an oddity to be studied.
~All he ever wanted to do was sing for people. Among his people, the young youkai could do little more than entertain young ones with his songs. But he wanted more. He wanted the world to hear his voice. Youkai are nothing but myths and superstitions at this point, humanity having grown beyond such ludicrous thinking, such as believing in magic and monsters. They still exist though, in secluded forests , mountains, and bodies of water protected by law. They chose these places to be away from humans, who have always reacted badly to the idea of not being the only sentient beings on the planet. However, with the support of his best friend, the two of them disguise themselves and head out to wow the world with their music. Playing on street corners before graduating to lounges and the like, it isn't long before their talents are recognized by a local record company and they are assigned a producer and manager, as well as a couple more members. The twins mesh with their sound very well, and the manager is rather kind and protective, but the youkai singer doesn't waste any time before coming head to head with the stubborn producer. Their idealistic differences have them at odds fairly often, and the others learn quickly to stay out of their ways. It is on one of these evenings during a storm when the two of them are left alone that the singer accidentally reveals what he is.
~As his final test, an incubus is sent to force a Priest to break his vows. Need I say more?
~A demon goes to wreak havoc on earth, and in his wake a child is orphaned. Something about the child interests him so instead of killing it he takes it to a place where he can raise it. Eventually, the grown child falls in love with the demon. Much ensues.
~A demon incubus goes to earth to feed, but instead of finding a meal, he finds one who captures his heart. Angel, Demon, Human, doesn't really matter on this one.
~For many years now, the incubi have been biding their time, out of the lime light. They have hidden in that shadows, ducking the church and their demon hunters. However, the Incubus leader has decided it's time for the incubi to make a name for themselves in the demon community. They begin striking entire villages, leaving only orphans in their wake. One such orphan joins the church and years later, becomes a demon hunter. Younger than all other hunters, he is very reckless and one day finds himself facing down a fully grown incubus while defending a young woman. The incubus recognizes the boy from one of his other hunts years ago and the familiarity makes him hesitate. The demon hunter strikes, the woman flees, and the incubus can not fight back. For some reason, he welcomes the boy to kill him, and this sways the hunter in such a way that he can not kill him. Instead he locks the incubus into an abandoned abbey, and begins visiting it to talk, and learn more about this war the incubi started.
~One day, while feeding, and incubus goes a little too far, and drains the entire soul from the human he's feeding on. The child of the human comes in moments later and cries over it's parent's body. Feeling slightly disheartened at the sight, he takes the boy to a local orphanage, where over the following years he grows to be very curious over the thing that killed his parent. He becomes an exorcist, banishing evil daily in an attempt to find his parent's killer. When at last the two of them meet again, the incubus feels again the sorrow of what he did, and when the boy hesitates, he decides to take the boy with him in his travels. The boy at first protests, but as he gets to know the demon better, he starts coming to terms with the incubus's way of life.
~NY has never been the safest city, but as of late there has been a rash of mysterious happenings where young men have been found near death in alley's and hotel rooms. A young rookie is recruited on to the case for the simple fact that he seems to fall into the same physical category as the victims, and he resigns himself into being bait for the person responsible. He goes under cover, getting an apartment in the area that has been hit the hardest. After many fruitless nights, the team looses track of the rookie for three days. Meanwhile, on his way to the grocery store, the young man spots what looks like an attack on a young man from the neighborhood that the team had marked down as a possible victim.
After charging into the fray, he realizes he's way outmatched. The four incubi on the hunt subdue him easily, but the leader takes a special interest in the young man and decides to “Keep” him. After three days, in which the rookie was mostly in a haze, he turns up back at his apartment. The only sing of what happened to him, a small marking on the back of his wrist he can't seem to get off. From that day on, he begins having very intense dreams every few nights, which he eventually realizes, are real. (The incubus wouldn't actually force him, it's not his or his kind's way. However, there are other ways to go about extracting the energy they need. In other words all the victims were willing, they just, forgot :P It's how the incubi keep their feedings secret.)
~A detective gets put on a case where middle aged people have been popping up in hospitals in temporary comas. No one knows why, but after a week or so, all the victims have woken up with memory loss of weeks before they turned up in the hospital. The detective tracks their movements and concludes that the only thing they all had in common is that they all frequented a host club. Because of it's class, and the rich backers, he can't use his usual tactics, so instead, he goes in as a guest to ferret out the culprit. After a while, he finds that one of the hosts seems different from the others, and starts ordering him every time. They play a fun game of cat-and-mouse for the following weeks, making the detective very confused. He becomes more and more interested in the host, while simultaneously becomes more and more convinced he's the culprit.
~A demon travels to the neutral plain and finds a sleeping angel. As a joke he takes the angel to earth and places him in a spelled house that the angel can't leave. Fun ensues.
~A demon incubus goes to earth to feed, but instead of finding a meal, he finds one who captures his heart. Angel, Demon, Human, doesn't really matter on this one.
~The war between heaven and hell has been raging for centuries, and the soldiers no longer really have the fire that they use to. All thins seem to be out of duty, and loyalty alone. The earth has become rather desolate, humans having reduced to small compounds here and there across every nation. A few towns still survive on their own out in the wasteland and act as filling stations for travelers and caravans traveling from one compound to to the next. On one small town, a demon has taken up the position of an acolyte at the local parish. He has no interest in become a priest, but it's the best way to avoid fighting. He's tired of it. One day, an angel realizes that there is a demon the the church and rushes in to defend it. When he finds the demon, he is so shocked to see him working like a normal human being that he hides himself, taking up the guise of a human, and waits to speak with him privately. The demon confides in the angel, giving him his reasons for what he's doing, and pleads for him to let him be. The angel, confused, leaves the demon be, but he also as a true believer in the war, begins to question his own convictions.
~He'd become too complacent, and because of it, had been captured. Now, in heaven's prison, the demon lives his days dreading when they will next take him in for “Questioning” on hell's recent “Unusual activity”. He knows that there are no plans that threatens either heaven or earth, but who would believe the son of Satan himself? Perhaps the young prison medic who tends to his wounds after each session? The young angel eventually realizes he's in no danger around the demon and sends the guards away, who tend to hinder his work, and spends hours listening to the demon speak of his home, his adventures on earth, and his love of the written word. After becoming convinced of the demon's truthfulness, he can not stand to see him tortured so, and helps him escape. This makes him an exile, but rather than abandoning him on earth, the demon helps the angel adjust to living on earth, returning to hell occasionally to keep up appearances.
~After the last war, heaven and hell both signed an agreement to never go to war with one another again. They are far from friends, but now work to keep direct conflict to a minimum. Meanwhile, and underground movement in the underworld threatens the peace, and in an effort to stop them a young demon goes to a powerful angel, one who was born at the end of the war and lost his parents to it, and who is at least a hundred years older than the demon. The demon convinces the angel to aid him quietly in stopping the movement, but to do so he has to seal his angelic powers, and travel earth and hell itself with the youngster to ferret out the leaders of the movement, and their plans.
~Heaven and hell works to keep the balance, neither trying to get the upper hand, but neither backing down. It is how the world stays intact, and both realms need the earth. To that end, teams of two have been sent to the planet, one angel, one demon per team, to keep the rouge demons in check, and when necessary, take down any church gaining too much power from a divine in secret. A demon who has been on the job for many years one day mysteriously loses his partner and requests a replacement to help find her. The replacement is younger than he, and not only suspicious of the demon's hand in his prior partners disappearance, he also has a deep seated hatred for all demon kind due to a tragic happening in his past. Now not only does the demon need to find his missing counterpart, he has to deal with a partner he can not trust to have his back.
~Out on the streets one night, a prince encounters a stranger who offers to buy him a drink. After several hearty serving, he offers to help the prince home. Along the way, the stranger pulls him into an alley and feeds on him. Not enough to turn him. Not enough to kill him. Instead the vampire lets the prince go. Determined to find the beast that bit him, the prince begins going out each night to hunt for it. He encounters the vampire several times, and each time, they get a little closer.
~A king just coming into the throne reads a letter left by his father, telling of an ancient evil trapped in a room of the castle, and how it must never be released. To spite his tyrannical father, and out of pure curiosity, the new king opens the door and releases the vampire trapped within. Instead of killing the man, the vampire offers him a deal. In exchange for his life, and the life of his family and servants, the king must let the vampire feed whenever and on whoever he likes without killing. The king agrees and the vampire becomes one of his advisers. The king being the only one who knows what he truly is.
~The vampire has reigned a long time over his substantial estate, watching over the many generation of servants that are born into servitude beneath him. One such youth grows to hate his bonds, and one day tries to break them by killing his master. Rather then angry at the boy attempt on his life, the old one is intrigued but the boy's passion. Sparing his life, the vampire keeps a lose eye on him, often bringing him to his study to talk. No other servant has been so unhappy as to try and slay him before, and the elder wants to find out what makes this boy different.
~Two newborn vampires meet one another during a party thrown by one of their masters. After which they try hard to see one another as much as possible.
~An order of priests have dedicated their existence to wiping out the scourge known as vampires One day one of the younger members is set out to take out a weak target. Finding the vampire in an abandoned church, he readies himself for the kill. At the last moment he freezes, unable to deliver the finishing blow. Now the priest must not only try and sort out this strange feeling that has blossomed in his chest, but figure out how to protect the vampire from his brethren.
~The priest has always been told that vampires are evil beings, like any other, and must be slain in the name of God. Still new to the hunt, the young man takes to the streets every night with his mentor to take down the creatures of the night. He is very satisfied with his work, protecting the innocent, until one day his master lets him out on his own and things take an odd turn. He comes across a wounded vampire, mauled by some other nightwalker, as the priests call all things they hunt, and is shocked when it seems to call upon god for protection from him. Overcome with curiosity he questions the vampire at stake point and he finds out that the different night clans have their own societies and religious beliefs, and are not the mindless creatures he's always been taught. Wanting to know more he takes the wounded vampire back to his church appointed home and locks it securely in the basement. There he keeps it alive on animal blood while he learns more and more how wrong he and his fellow priests have been for generations about the nightwalkers.
~The vampire and incubus clans have been semi friendly rivals since the dawn of their existences. A minor war here, a complete takeover there, nothing major. Surly nothing big enough to catch the attentions of the humans they live around. Most people simply think they are very odd night people. However the much less than friendly animosity between the werewolves and the necromancers has been escalating through the generations, and will soon come to a head. Unable to stay out of the battling any longer, all clans must choose sides and the two mostly peaceful clans don't like it. Their battles become more fierce, and raids more often. On one such raid a seasoned vampire finds a human being held captive by the incubi, and on a whim takes him as a prize. Unbeknownst to the vampire the human is the CEO of a very wealthy company and if he plays his cards right, he can avoid the war altogether. That is if the war doesn’t explode full force into the human side of things.
~Vampirism is a very curable disease, and after the incident several hundred years ago where the disease made it's was across the country like a plague, it has nearly vanished from existence. However not everyone thinks that the disease is a bad thing. A black market in the stuff has been making headway in selling it to rich people who wish to cure some ailment, or simply live forever. While long life is a side effect, the world government has illegalized it's use and has started a special task force to try and take down the people trafficking the disease. One detective is confident that the head of the multinational toy company “Immortal Dreams” is the one financially backing the market and meets with the man regularly to question him on the subject. The leader is indeed financially backing the market, but he has also become infected himself so he can continue making toys for children world wide. He will stop at nothing to make sure the children stay happy.
~In a small New England town, a string of murders of travelers in the are has gotten the authorities a little on edge. They have no clue as to who has committed the murders, but are calling on surrounding villages for aid. Word reaches the freshly establishes vampire coven several miles away, and the details of the murders raises suspicion of it being a vampire doing the killings. Not wanting to loose their foothold in the new world, they dispatch someone to find out if their suspicions are correct. When he arrives, he finds living out in the woods a young vampire. It's obvious from his tattered clothing and blood stain visage that the boy was dropped after being turned, or even simply left where he'd been made with the maker having made no effort to raise the youngster. Taking the boy into his care, it is not the Elder's job to find out who made him, and stop him form doing the same in other villages, raising the alarm for the humans and ruining all the coven's hard work.
~A new breed of vampire is on the rise, ones that seem to be re-born with no sense of humanity. Ones who's very bodies reject their human features, and who seem bent on turning the entire human race against the night walkers. The vampires, unbeknownst to the increasingly frightened human populace, are leading the war against the new breed,by any means necessary. One day, an elder vampire doctor is brought a freshly killed female of the new breed for his experiments into a way to fix the breed's skewed genetic code. The female is at least twice the size of a normal vampire and upon examination he is shocked to find she is with child. Nor only are vampire children unheard of, the child looks to be around the human age of twelve. After extracting it he runs tests until finally deciding to wake the boy. It seems to have the appearance and genetic code of a normal vampire, and the elder thinks he is the key to the cure. The boy grows up in the lab, in his own little glass room, and over the years the elder begins treating him almost like a son. Unfortunately, his facility is discovered, and the elder must take the boy out of the lab and on the run to try and find a place to continue his work.(I was thinking we could either agree during the RP on time jumps, or we would start a couple days before the facility is discovered. Work in somewhere that the newborn or elder, or both, are starting to feel a different kind of affection.)
~Tired of a solitary existence, a vampire lord goes out one night and finds a young man to his liking, and turns him. After his re-birth the youngster severs his new master, but it doesn't take long for him to realize that that is not what the master needs. He sees the disdain the master has for the other obedient servants and decides to try and figure out what the master wants. He drags the master outside at night, to look at stars, or go into town for night events and festivals. He mouths off to some of the more assholic guests at his master's parties. Furious at first at the young one's actions, he punishes him, but over time, he begins realizing that things are getting more fun with the boy around. He thinks perhaps he's found what he's looking for.
~Turning someone is never an easy decision, and this elder vampire is becoming quickly convinced that the last one he turned was a bad idea. The man doesn't seem to be able to control himself and goes through several people a night, leaving each half dead, but never draining them all the way. As the elder puzzles over this, the newborn struggles desperately with himself. His instincts tell him to feed, but his heart will not let him kill. I knows his sire is confused as to why he takes so many, but fears telling him of what he sees as the last flicker of humanity raging inside him.
~An attack on a vampire elder's estate leaves him alone and without his many children. He'd loved each and every one of them, and like any man who's lost everything, he seeks two things: Revenge, and oblivion. After wiping out the town responsible for the attack, he decides to also hunt down the order that instigated the townsfolk into attacking. He becomes very skilled at killing the vampire hunters, and soon it almost becomes routine. One night, during a particularly hard slay, he is wounded badly and takes refuge in an old abandoned abbey. The next morning a young man comes to the abbey and startles the elder, who on instinct drain the young man to near death. Something about the boy makes him unable to take his life fully, and instead he turns him, making the boy his new child. Unable to live on his own now, the boy stays with the elder, trying to understand not only his new existence, but the elder's crusade. The elder tires desperately not to care for the young one, unwilling to open his heart to the pain of loss again, but perhaps his heart of stone can be crumbled by this new life he's brought into this world.
~The vampire has ruled over his own little city for years, but now he wishes to take over the entire territory. But rather than starting a war, he decides to buy, barter, and bribe control of the smaller provinces, and make deals with the larger ones, promising rewards should they not get in his way to take over. The king gets a whiff of the elder's plan, and with only rumors of what he really is to go on, hence no firm footing the convince his people not to side with the vampire, he instead sends out one of his trusted subjects to survey the matter. He is to either find out a way to stop him by proving the lord is a vampire, or to take him out of the picture all together. The man slips up in his investigation and is captured by the vampire. The elder decides the man would be useful, so he turns him, which makes the man automatically submissive to the elder's will. However, he still feels his loyalties to the crown and tries to fight against the elder's wishes when and where he can. However, after a time, even his human loyalties begin to falter when he realizes the vampire isn't as bad as he grew up believing all vampires are.
~A newborn vampire traveling alone comes to a town run by a rather unsavory band of vampires. Soon after being inducted into their ranks a vampire lord comes into town and wipes them all out. They had drawn too much attention to themselves and he was under orders by the council to take them all down. However, when it comes to killing the newborn, the honest fear an innocence in his eyes gives him cause to pause. Instead of killing him he takes the youngster into his care and tries to take assignments away from his co-workers so they won't spot the boy and report it back to the council. Unfortunately, one day he's forced to kill one of his allies because he threatened not only to tell the council, but to kill the boy. Having come to like the kid, he can not stand by and let him do it. This act makes him a fugitive, however he doesn't want the boy caught up in it and tries on many occasions to convince the boy into leaving for his own good, but the newborn feels that he can not make it on his own, and also feels responsible for the current situation. So despite the elder's efforts, he stays by his side and does what he can to keep the both of them alive.
~A young upstart vampire, only a few weeks old, but with a group of followers already, decides he wants power and decides to try and take over a territory held by one of the oldest vampires known. No one has seen the vampire in ages, but his servants and slaves keep the property neat and tidy, and defend the territory when threatened. Wanting to do things quickly, he takes it upon himself to enter the estate and cut off the head of the snake so to speak. This is no small task, but once he finds the elder and is ready to strike, the elder shows him why he has reigned over such a large territory for so long. Over the following weeks he teaches the how to respect his elders. However, the elder has begun to grow tired of ruling and begins pondering the idea of a successor. Perhaps leave the estate to someone else, after proper training, and travel the world. Perhaps the kid has some potential. . . . .
~An Elder vampire finds a newborn Vampire abandoned on the steps of a church, covered in scars ad open wounds. Figuring that the locals must have dumped it there hoping the priests would finish it off, he almost leave it there too, uncertain if the church was connected with the local vampire hunter guild. However the newborn spots him leaving and can sense he's one of his own. His will to survive overrides the pain and he tries to follow. Finding the sight too pitiful, the elder takes him under his care. Little does the elder know that the newborn is actually an escape from the vampire hunter guild where he'd been used for experiments and training for over a year. Before turning he'd been a petty thief, and the guild itself had used a vampire’s venom and blood to make him. Once the young one finally tells the elder of how he came to be, the two of them work together to stop the guild from such cruelty.
~Vampires are considered pure myth in this modern world, but what happens when one night an unsuspecting wakes in an abandoned warehouse with nothing but a throbbing pain in his neck as a hint to what's happened the night before? Sunlight feels like white hot fire, and he can feel a gnawing hunger growing stronger deep within'. He manages to make his way home the following night, but his hunger causes him to attack one of his family members. As he feels the scene, and stranger steps out from the dark and offers to help him with his little problem. The elder employs him at his night club, and teaches him how to survive in modern society as a mythical being. The nightclub itself is a kind of hub for the underground community, and there he gets to meet some of mythologies most interesting beings.
~With only a vague idea of what it means to be a vampire, a newly re-born to the night young man sets out to try and survive in a world where his very existence is considered unacceptable. Everyone knows his kind exists, but much like the witch trials, the public isn't all that good at spotting them. He soon passes through a town where a vampire has been captures and the village is getting ready to burn him at the stake. The vampire looks very young, barely into his teens if that, and feeling sorry for him, the newborn charges in and rescues him. The little one is slow in recovering, but after a few weeks of traveling and dodging hunters and crazy villagers, he returns to his full strength. To the newborn's surprise he wakes next to the little one having sprouted up into a full grown man over day. He explains to the young man that when he grows weak, his body shrinks to conserve energy, and that he is actually quite old, bordering on ancient. He also reveals that the only reason he was caught is he's determined to prove to the world that vampires are the evil creatures that they've been raised to believe. The newborn likes the idea of a world of peace between vampires and humans, and decides to help the elder in his mission.
~Humans have grown too arrogant, claiming to be far superior to all other races. While the elves simply blow them off, and the dwarfs cut off contact with them, other races decide to try and knock them down a notch. To that effect, an elder vampire catches the young king of one of the largest kingdoms alone one night in the palace gardens and converts him before kidnapping him. Forced to serve his sire without question, the young king travels the world with his new master and discovers what his way of thinking has done to the beings in his land. The dissent and racism has turned his one beautiful land into a veritable war zone, and many a young one will grow up without a family because of it. After the lesson, they return to his kingdom and the king now feels the need to stop the fighting, and perhaps with the elder's help, he will succeed.
~The kingdom of Isar is not the happy place it use to be. Within it's closed boarders a darkness has grown, and if it wasn't for the regular trade with it's neighboring countries no one would know what's happening within it's depths. Two generations ago a powerful Vampire Lord took control of the kingdom, naming himself king and imprisoning the royal family. The youngest daughter grew to womanhood and after a failed escape attempt with one of the guards she turned up pregnant. After the child was born it was taken from his to be raised by the servants, all now loyal to the Vampire Lord. However, after reaching the age of accountability, he finds himself more able to explore the palace and winds up in the dungeons. There, the only other member of the royal family still alive, his mother, tells him who he really is. He doesn't know what to believe, and now must decide if he is to remain as his lord's faithful servant, or reclaim his throne as rightful heir. (Or work out something in between :P)
~While slavery between the human races have come to an end, those of non human status are free game on the market. Vampires are rare and particularly sought after, but not just for their beauty. Once a vampire is sold and fed the blood of their masters for seven days, they are bound to that human and must serve them for the rest of their existence, sometimes even passed down through generations within a family. However there is a resistance. Small and scattered groups of immortals and other creatures vow to remove their bonds and to one day either become equal with humans, or to wipe out humanity so they they can live free. The unofficial leader is a vampire who has survived for many generations feeding off of different humans and on occasion other non humans. However, a particularly powerful human has decided that he's been free long enough and vows to enslave the vampire leader, making him his own.
~Scientists have worked for hundreds of years to build the perfect soldier. Implants, neural enhancements, even gene manipulation, all to create the perfect killing machine and soldier. War has almost become a pastime for the planets in a fairly expansive solar system. The system is off limits for travelers, but the occasional ship does make it through the barricade to make deliveries or return to their supply depots. One such delivery provides a scientist with exactly what he needs to create what he believes will be the perfect soldier. He injects his creation into a young test subject, transforming it from a normal teenager into a fierce killer. Enhanced strength, eyesight, reflexes, and unprecedented healing abilities. Perfect, save for the built in control device. If the subject doesn't consume blood laced with a particular additive every three months, it will die. Before he can train the boy properly, it escapes on to an out going cargo ship and the lab can not track him. The cargo ship is small, with a crew of one, and the man must decide what to do with his stowaway.
~They just want to live their lives like anyone else, but integration of radically different people has never been easy. It has been several years since the wall dividing the two races came down, but things are still a mess. The wall had been built several generations ago to forestall war, but after the last set of peace talks a treaty was signed by both sides, and the leaders agreed to try and guide their people into living with one another peacefully. However the vampires, who had lived in such a small place for so long with very little to eat, are having a hard time not feeding on everyone in sight. As for the humans, it's always been in human nature to shun that which is different from themselves. To keep the peace a group was founded by both humans and vampires who operate outside the law. They have license to kill anyone of either race who insist on disrupting the peace, and work in teams of two. One Vampire and one Human per team, and most often neither of them is happy about working with the other.
~Tired of living in the dark, dirty places of the world, a group of vampires band together and begin a quiet war. In the time of lords and kings, the vampires are positive that if they can turn enough influential people, they can climb out of the dark and into the light, figuratively of course. Most people do not even believe int heir kind, and with the wars breaking out every couple years between one family/nation and another no one is paying very good attention to the slow takeover of minor nobles. However one particularly headstrong vampire makes his way into the palace of one of the most powerful kings of the known world. He is new to the throne, but beloved by his people and with a youthful unjaded view of the world. When the vampire reaches the kings chamber, instead of changing him out right, he has an idea. Faster, stronger, and more agile than the young king, he makes it clear that the boy has no choice but to listen to the vampires proposition.
~A young king, fearing for his kingdom, calls upon the dark arts to aid him. He's always been sick, and none of his physicians can tell him why. His kingdom boarders two others that hate one another and it's only through their friendship with the young king that they haven't gone to war with one another yet. His fear fro his people is well founded as the battlegrounds would end up being his own lands, so in his desperation he delves deep into the books on black arts and finds a summoning spell. The spell is said to summon a being who can identify and cure all ailments. After a year of preparations, he's at last ready to activate the spell. When the smoke clears, the being standing before him is nothing like he imagined. The vampire however is a bit miffed at being summoned by a dabbler, but concedes to heal the boy anyways. It will take quite some time for him to clean the young kings blood, but until he does he must stay in the palace, much to his advisers' horror.
~The young vampire prince has always gotten his way, and as such has become rather spoiled. As the only son of the king since his wife died and he refuses to take another, the king is hesitant to punish the boy. However after a particularly unmentionable incident involving a human maid, the king banishes his son into the world for five years to learn a lesson. Without his station, money, or anything to aid him save for his natural and unused talents, the prince has to learn to live around the very creatures he's grown to loath over the years. Seeing them as weaker, and less than himself, he gets off on the wrong foot right off the bat and has to flee from his home city to avoid being put in jail. As he traverses the countryside he comes across a wanderer and tries to convince him to let the boy feed off him rather than forcing himself on the man. Knowing of vampires superior strength he agrees to feed the boy as long as he works for it. The wanderer is a trader who travels from town to town to sell his wares, and extra arms means bigger sales. The prince agrees to help, but is determined to find a way to escape the arrangement as soon as possible.
~The boy spent his young life passed from parish to parish, kept in the dark underground areas away from the sun. He never knew what he was, being treated like any other child in the church. Save for the tonic he had to take once every day, he learned, played, and even slept with the other kids. He longed to see the sunlight, only knowing of it's existence through the scriptures and the other children's drawings. One day in his young teen years, physically at least, he found his way up into the church proper and at the first touch of sunlight felt his flesh burn. The pain transformed his face into one of dark rage, his eyes glowing red, canines and cuspids growing long and sharp, and it was then that the priests could keep it from him any longer. In the cool depths of the church they told him what he was; and abomination and and affront to God. When at last they finished explaining everything to him, they told him he had to die. Unable to accept oblivion so easily he escaped into the world just as the sun began to fall behind the horizon. No one in this world knows that vampires are very real, so on the fifth day after his escape when he climbs through an open window into someone's apartment the sole inhabitant thinks him just and intruder. Starving, cold, and in great internal turmoil, the boy attacks the man, feeding on him until he passes out. The attack drains him as well and he falls asleep beside the unconscious man. The man now has to figure out what to do about the vampire in his living room, and with no idea about the secret war between the clergy and the vampires, he has to figure it out quickly.
~Over the years vampires have learned to disguises themselves as many things, including animals. In the post apocalyptic world where people live in large walled off areas around a central uncontaminated water source, a pet is a precious luxury. Vampires have found the perfect niche in society as pets, and after feeding from their human enough, they from a bond that can not be broken. This allows them to revert to human form in front of their masters without having to worry too much about being thrown out, or worse, killed. One such vampire has just lost his master of several years and seeks out a new one. He's rather adventurous so when he sees one of the rare desert walker parties that work for the government making deliveries between settlements he decides to tag along with the caravan. He has to select a master quickly, but even after becoming bonded to his new master, all things are not well with the world. This new master hates his kind and now he has to make a choice. Starve to death, spend the rest of the human's life as a cat, or try and convince the young man that vampires aren't so bad.
