Kuro lets out a little whine as Aoba ignores his question in favor of begging he be healed. 'You know. . . .I'm gonna owe him after this. Healing ain't free, and right now, he sees you as my bargaining chip. . .' With a sigh he waits patiently as Homura complies, running his hands over the wounded areas while Dani stays curiously in place. 'Aw look, that must be his payment. Making a wall for poor Homura' Kuro smiles at his older brother only to be shot a nasty look. Rolling his eyes the youngest gives the silver haired male another kiss before stepping back, stretching and testing just how well he's been patched up.

Watching silently as the angel's glow grows, the happiness in his voice clear, Homura's curiosity only intensifies. 'He really is happy that they are feeling better now. . .Does he like my brothers? That's silly, he's an angel, they hate us! But. . . .But, with what Kurotama said, he's treating the angel real nice like, so maybe. . .Maybe he just doesn't trigger the hate, that clash. . .'

“Well that's good.” Kuro murmurs, ruffling Aoba's hair. “You'll think of something.”

The exchange is very telling tot he blind demon, the sight of the energies simply brushing against one another rather than crashing together is a bizarre sight. Homura has watched through his pool before, and that's not how angel and demon energy interacts with each other. He jumps slightly as the angel turns to look at him. He can't see it, but he can tell. When someone focuses on something, their energy shifts in that direction. It's automatic. He holds Dani's wing carefully, watching it get closer, the light brighter than any he's seen so close other than they father's.

He listens to the angel, unblinking, waiting. . .”You're an angel. . .” He murmurs, his voice soft, but sure. “You are a pure form, different from humans and demons, of which I can seen many. You are different, and even from other angels you are different. You are unique, you are special. . . .You may be a link to something even more special, but. . . .I'd need to examine you more to figure it out. I would need time, and my research, an-”

“Homura, one step at a time. . .” Kuro says softly, stopping his older brother's inevitable mad ramble.

Homura ducks a little, chuckling. “Yes, of course.” He seems to grow a little more confident, letting Dani's wing go. Dani shakes out his wings and after looking around at the tree of them, hops up into his loft bed to 'wait out the crazy' as he would put it. Standing a little taller Homura's eyes travel up and down, head tilting this way and that. 'I wonder if I could touch it and not clash, or is it just Little Black Cloud and him that interact so well. I should have asked Dani before he ran off. . .He's hovering above the ground, but I don't feel a breeze. . .A second floor? He said it's a barn. . .What's a barn?'

He pauses mid musing to take a step forward, holding out a hand. He pauses and drops it, glancing at Kuro then back at the angel, like a child asking for candy. Kuro waves a hand. “It's up to Little Mouse.”
With a smile Seishu checks to make sure the barrier keeping the vast majority of negative energy away from the wounded guardian is still intact before putting all of his focus on doctoring the red head. With each injection the wound looks a tiny bit better, but over all he knows it's like sticking a cork in a dam. 'We need to get back, and soon. . .' He scoffs lightly when Enasi comments on his snarling and snapping. “Yeah, my wounds were made by something much worse, and I had unadulterated positive energy flowing into me constantly.” Pointing up vaguely he murmurs, “I got you covered from most of it. No need for you to suffer like I did.”

Rue looks up, noticing for the first time that he too doesn't feel the press like he did the night before when he was flying through the realm. With wide eyes he asks softly, “Does that mean you're in the bubble too? I mean, you're not getting any energy right now?”

Seishu shakes his head slightly. “No, I am getting as much as the two of you, it's just less, not completely stopped. Like how Enasi can't seal off my room in the palace completely and I still need my pain killers, which reminds me, I'm going to need to take a dose before I go through if I'm going to not pass out.” He sounds a little weary, still focused on his work. “After this nice trip here I think the slam of entering your home again may make me ill for a few days. But hey, it's better than being dead, right?” He smiles without looking up from Enasi's midsection. 'If I can just get this healed up a little more we'll be able to go above ground and get out of here before it opens again. A portal down here would resonate too much and likely be rejected by the dream realm' he muses, flinching at the sounds of pain coming from his counterpart.

Kaila watches with his usual passive expression, wondering if he should go with his guardian, just to make sure they make it okay. 'He may get hit so hard, he'd fall short, but. . .I can't really leave, not after all this. And I can't send Tyar. . .It's made of pure negative which might collapse the portal just by trying. . .' He lets out a sigh, praying to whoever will listen that everything will work out.
Heheh, you called Lai a demon here - "Gathering himself, he turned to fix the demon with a deadpanned stare. . ."

Hmmm. . . . .What does Lai have to do to actually get the demon to confide in him, or is "As I have left it behind. . ." all Lai's gonna get?
Sure.
The prince's comment has the fae rather stumped, not being completely caught up with human sayings, but he stays silent and simply tilts his head tot he side and waits for instructions on what to do next. He'd done his job, and now he's back to having nothing better to do than slake his curiosity, and at the moment he can't even do that since they are in public. Holding up the dagger belt Rei notes that there is more than one missing and wonders why. 'Did he forget to re-stock? It is a fool who leaves their blade behind. Unlike arrows and bolts, many a blade smith will recognize such a well crafted set of knives. If he had the money to spend on such fine gear, I must wonder how such a poor assassin got enough work to afford it'

Dropping his arm back down so the ends of the belt are laying on the ground he looks up as once more the prince addresses him. 'It is good to know his father has a working information network. It may mack tracking things easier, and also bumps him up on the list. . .' Though he knows that Alessandro for some reason seems to love and trust his family, that does not make them any less likely as suspects. Right now in fact, all three are at the top of the list. At the mention of blood he looks down, seeing if he got any on his clothes before taking out the bit of cloth again and wiping away the wet patch on his cheek. 'Must have splashed up when I pulled out my blade. There are a few more drops around my collar too. . .' Putting the cloth away he waits on the prince, wondering if there are any other matters that need to be dealt with before they head back. From across the street Rei can her a few people thanking the gods that the prince is safe, along with a few comments on his own brutality when dealing with the would be assassin. 'Would it not be more polite to thank me since I was the one to save him? Human culture is strange. . .'
The almost startled look on the other man's face actually helps Akito calm down a little, a bit of his true feelings seeming to finally shine through as he follows the shock up with a smile. Still nervous however all he can do is nod and murmur, “Yes, it was lovely.” He lets his gaze wander around the room, snapping back to the prince when he speaks before going back to examining the room. 'I don't see why they would not be interested. Even though father knows nothing of animals and art, he at least would sit with me sometimes and talk about them. . .' He smiles a little wider and nods with the offer to be shown again. “That would be nice.” His voice is soft, but not quite as timid as before. Having something in common is nice for the poor soldier.

'I don't doubt you there. You have the determination and the time to master them all. Most magic users can only do a few elements at most since they take so long to learn and they still need to make a living. You on the other hand won't have responsibilities that will take you away from your studies overly long for quite some time according to you' When silence falls once more Akito tries to some up with something to say, however Hiro soon brings up a new subject and for a moment Akito panics on the inside. Having determined that he doesn't want to talk about the mages he's killed, he has to think of how to talk around that.

Looking back to the prince his gaze drops and his timidness seems to return. “Once a year a mage would come around and test all the new soldiers of the right age group for magical aptitude. If a soldier showed promise they would be taken away for training and returned after they had mastered enough to be useful on the battlefield. Our unit never had a magic user, though, we did go up against quite a few during the war.” He fidgets a bit before going on. “Our enemy used magic more often than our side, but we had a fair few powerful mages.” His smile returns, though a bit dimmer and he looks back up at Hiro briefly. “I was tested and found wanting, though I never lost my fascination with the craft.” Coughing lightly he looks over at the water and without thinking murmurs, “If I recall the natural progression properly then the next element that should be learned would be wind. . .”
Beyond the shiver of once more hearing those words drop from the demon's lips Amano chuckles softly with a light smile. Though perhaps not meant as a joke, he finds the taller male's words to be amusing none the less. 'So I can be both, huh? And he would not mind following someone like that. . . .I wonder, as I am sure I will for many a long year, why he chose me. After all, he could have killed all in that basement and found someone more worthy, someone with a better chance and less oddities to deal with. There must be a reason, or several reasons, but. . .I do not know, I think I may not want to know. . .Perhaps I will ask him on my death bed. . .'

As he goes on to speak on the inspection idea Amano smiles softly and nods, deciding to go with a full inspection. He's never done one personally, but he knows what to look for. As the ship comes into sight, the gentle breeze making all the ships in the harbor bob a little, Amano sets his gaze and makes his way confidently on to the desk. The captain is at the helm, obviously doing an inspection of his own, but when he spots his new contractors he wipes his hands on his pants and descends to greet the boy and his manservant. Raising a hand he calls out. “Mornin'! Though soon the afternoon will be upon us.” He seems to be less drunk today and Amano appreciates the lack of alcohol being breathed in his direction.

“Indeed.” Amano replies, offering a slight nod in greeting. The captain looks him over, having not gotten a good look the night before due to shadows and inebriation. He seems to come to a conclusion rather quickly and asks about supplies and the like for the trip. Amano nods toward Illiendi. “He can answer most of your questions. I am on a tight schedule so please feel free to talk to him while I inspect my investment.” The captain looks a little taken aback but after a few silent moments he nods, obviously a little wary, and turns to address the demon. Letting out slow breath the youth moves away from the two and begins looking for all the things he's been told to keep an eye out for.

From the bow to stern he susses out every possible problem that may arise if not dealt with, finding only a few and most not severe. He does find signs of some issues in the galley that will need to be dealt with before they leave port, but on the whole nothing seems too problematic. It isn't until the captain notices Amano up in the shrouds that he finally calls out to the youth. “Oi, sir, careful up there. Don't need you breaking your neck before we're even under way!” Amano waves wit a smile. Even in his nice clothing he is a very skilled climber, having often used climbing as a means to get away from his brothers. Once in the crow's nest he takes a moment to just enjoy the view, breathing deep and holding his arms wide. He knows the captain can not see at this angle otherwise he would not be doing something so childish. He feels very relaxed, knowing Illiendi knows what he's doing and will deal with the man according to their plan.
Despite the question being posed to Kuro and Dani, it's Homura that answers. “Dani's got six scratches, two sets of claw marks on his shoulder, and a bit of talon stuck in the shoulder blade, but that'll heal quick. Kuro broke his ribs again, but they will heal, his lung is bruised, his hand fractured, a light concussion, twelve bruises, and a cracked hip.” Dani giggles at his assessment and reaches around to dig out the talon he didn't notice. Kuro rolls his eyes.

“Yes, the amazing Homura, cataloging everything he can see. . .” The smaller male whines then sighs as his little brother offers him a peck to the forehead. Petting those silver locks he murmurs, “Be nice.” before moving to Aoba's side with a warm smile. “Homura's just here to get a look at you, for lack of a better way to describe it. Don't worry little mouse, he's more shy than you are, around new people at least.” He mimics the kiss to his brother on Aoba before looking around the barn. “Is everyone well and accounted for?”

Homura stands holding his left elbow in his right hand while his left arm hands loose at his side. He glances at the angel every once in a while, wondering what's going on in that innocent head. After a few seconds of this however Dani lets out a sigh and bounces over to him, turning so that his wounds are exposed. “Fix it!” he orders playfully and without thinking Homura seals the wounds with a light touch, hiding behind Dani's wing with only one eye still on the angel so he can take a longer look.
As he sets into one final tale for the evening Lai watches out of the corner of his eye as the false priest begins radiating a bit of his demonic aura before standing and practically fleeing out of the church. 'Serves him right' he thinks with a silent laugh at the sight, however moments later he notices the children turning their attention on the retreating man. Confusion sweeps through him again as they all begin to murmur softly with worried eyes. 'They. . . .They really do care for him. . .How can that be? Humans have always feared and rejected demons, as they should. And before, instead of striking back at the pain I gave him like the beast he is. . .He. . .prayed. . . .' With a soft sigh he catches the children's attentions and launches into his short tale.

They all watch him with wide eyes, glancing at the door every so often. When at last the tale is over one of the other children thanks him with a warm shy smile and begins herding the littler ones off to bed. He pats a few on the head, standing and looking towards the door as well. Despite his anger his curiosity grows as one of the older children hands off her stack of bowls she's been clearing off the tables and pews to another and begins moving towards the front door. Driven partially by his need to understand what is going on, but mostly for his desire to protect the human child, he stops her mid way and offers he a warm smile. “Are you worried about the father?” He manages to say the word without any venom in his voice. She nods, looking to the door again.

His smile warms a little at the sight of her honest concern and he reaches out and pats her shoulder gently. “I'll got get him then. You should finish your chores. I am sure you all have beds you need to get to, and I think I know why he's out there.” She nods, a little confused but his fine features and holy aura settles her mind. With an nod and smile she goes back to clearing the dishes left by tired guests and Lai looks to where he can sense the demon. 'I think it's time we talk a bit, demon. . . .' Walking slowly he lowers his energy, not wanting to look threatening and prompt the beast into attacking. Opening the door he shivers at the cool breeze, stepping out carefully before closing it and leaning against it.

The demon is only a few paces away, the rushing air tossing about his hair haphazardly, his priestly robes fluttering quietly. Instead of approaching him right away he gives the male a few moment, beating back his own anger for now, wanting answers first before anything else. Once he is sure he's in control of himself, instead of approaching the demon he walks off to the side a bit, leaning on the porch railing and taking in the night air with long, slow breaths. After about a minute he at last speaks up. “I'm surprised you didn't lose it in there. So much so in fact that I'm willing to listen, free of judgment, for now at least.” Casting half a glance at the beast he says a little softer, “I followed you stupid demands, all but leaving, though time for that is yet to pass. Even among you kind that should earn me a little something.” He manages not to sound too upset with the other male, but he can not help his natural angelic distaste to show though when he said “your kind”.
With a glace at Kaila, Tyar makes it's way back out to keep an eye on the cavern so the second in command can greet their guardian for the morning. Seishu takes the proffered hand and pulls Kaila down into a hug, watching his response. Kaila shivers at the new feeling coming from the guardian and after a moment leans in a little closer, retuning the embrace. Seishu notes a faint look of peace on the smaller male's face before his usual expressionless mask slips back into place. Kaila stands, raising and eyebrow to ask if he needs help standing but Seishu shakes his head. Turing to his counterpart as Kaila returns to his post the white haired male pulls a syringe from his belt and chuckles at the interaction between Rue and Enasi.

Running a hand over Enasi's forehead he murmurs, “Just hold still for a minute. I can lessen Crios' beating a bit I think. Maybe he'll kill you a little less if I can do a little more work here. . . .” Brushing his fingers along Enasi's cheek he smiles gently before turning his attention on to the wound. Rue flinches as Seishu peels back a bit of blood soaked cloth, exposing the hole. Gripping his guardian's hand a little tighter he brings it up to hide behind so he doesn't have to look at the injury. The bleeding had stopped the night before but is still looks ghastly since there is very little energy for Enasi to feed on to aid in his own recovery.

Humming lightly, a song that is soon echoed in the throats of his underlings, Seishu focuses on applying the solution around the entry point, pressing the skin together so it will mend. Rue pets the fingers he's hiding behind, enjoying the soft melody the nightmare denizens are humming. Beyond the waterfall in the cavern Tyar's deep deep voice resonates with the crystals making it almost sound like the walls themselves are humming along. Hearing the sound Seishu chuckles and whispers, “Now you know where I get the singing landscape. . .” He continues humming, doing his best to keep his calm despite the grizzly sight before him.

~*~*~*~*~

Crios slips into Seishu's room, quietly as to not wake those slumbering within. Rasha wakes after a few seconds as the doctor approaches the bed, the sound of his feet on the floor enough to rouse the sharp eared troublemaker. Crios makes a soft shushing noise as Rasha tries to turn and look at him despite the death grip Inui has on his shirt. Shaking his head the doctor settles down on the side of the bed and injects Rasha with a fresh infusion of positive energy. Not enough to drive Inui off of him, but enough to ease his silent suffering. Together the two of them look at the sleeping youth as he stirs slightly, mumbling Rue's name softly before stilling once more.
