Well that's one person I can see getting along with Claude's Joltik.
There we go. My CS is up. I might make one or two small changes after taking a break and coming back to it, but overall that's Claude.
Name: Claude Martel
Age: 20

Appearance:
Claude has light skin with brown hair that he keeps short and styled. He has a short beard of the same color which he also keeps short and well-trimmed. He stands at roughly 5'6", somewhat short for his age. He swears he's still growing though. Despite that he is quite stocky, having a broad chest and shoulders earned through a strict fitness regimen. His manner of dress is clean and neat. He tries to be professional when necessary. His pants and shirt are clean and pressed and his shoes always shiny. He wears a blazer over his shirt, even if he'll have to replace it with a lab coat the moment he gets to work or take it off and roll up his sleeves out in the field. He refuses to wear a tie though. No matter what, he hates those things. There is often a yellow fuzzy spot on his person, about four inches in diameter. Upon closer inspection, one can see that it's actually his Joltik.

Personality:
Claude is, before anything else, clean and organized. In his life there is a place for everything and everything is in it's place. This idea applies to many things in his life, from his daily schedule, to his workspace, to his home. What once made him a control freak and perfectionist, he has slowly learned to channel into controlled order. He has a rigid schedule of important things he sticks to. Despite this rigid principle, there is a large empty space in this schedule devote to anything and everything that doesn't interfere with the important parts. As long as everything is more or less in order, he is a calm and friendly young man. However, he can get flustered and irate when outside circumstances or his own failings cause him to lose his organized mindset. He's always been curious, and has a fondness for the new and different. As such, he has a bit of skill with inventing. He could sit for hours taking apart machines, observing chemical reactions, trying to find out how everything works, putting it together in new ways... if there was time. He has a particular interest in poisons and technology. He has a strong sense of justice, and believes that every crime deserves an equal punishment. No exceptions. He likes to whistle while he works, which can grate on the nerves of the others.

History:

Claude was born in Unova to ordinary parents. They had steady jobs as a cameraman and teacher, and they did not lack for money nor have an excess. Claude was always curious and took an interest in Pokemon early in his life. He was astounded by how they existed and had such strange abilities.

As he got into the habit of watching the news with his father, he would always perk up when a Pokemon was featured in the news. It was not always positive however. He unfortunately had to learn that many people out in the world used their Pokemon for crime and to hurt others. This would be what sparked a desire to do good using Pokemon that would eventually lead to his joining the Pokemon International Police Force. As he continued to grow older, he developed a love for various sciences. Chemistry, physics, Pokemon biology. A topic that held his interest longer than many others was the poison of poison-type Pokemon. This interest led him to borrow the neighbor's Pokemon to go out and catch a Roselia.

After lots of study, and a very short-lived attempt at adventuring with his Pokemon, Claude found his place at the PIPF. In his few years there, he has grown adept at using his knowledge and experience to answer many questions about materials and objects relevant to investigations.

Region: Unova
Rank: Forensic Scientist

Team:

Pokemon: Joltik (F)
Nickname: Joy
Personality: Joy is a curious little thing. Claude leaves her out of her Pokeball so she can observe the world as she wishes. She keeps eyes on everything Claude does. She is rather shy, and scurries away or onto Claude's back whenever a stranger approaches. Once she's grown used to someone, she can be comfortable in their presence, but there are few of Claude's friends and coworkers that she is actually friendly with.
Strengths/weaknesses: Not very good at battling, even by tiny Pokemon standards. However she is very agile and a good jumper. She has high intelligence for her kind and is very observant, often catching things Claude doesn't.

Pokemon: Roselia (M)
Nickname: Thorn
Personality: Despite his name, Thorn is an amicable Pokemon. He enjoys the company of others. The sweet scent of his flowers complements his disposition and ensures that others enjoy his company as well. He is also quite lazy and loves nothing more than to sit around, eat, and just have fun.
Strengths/weaknesses: While a decent battler, he is just uninterested. Most battles he's forced to go into, he does so half-heartedly. Rarely is there such a good reason for battle that he really puts everything into it. Though those seem to be more common these days in this line of work. However, he has a particularly potent and fast-acting poison. If he can manage to get his opponent just right, the poison can incapacitate it much quicker than that of most Pokemon. Claude actually carries around an antidote for... accidents.
Jsut popping in to say I am still working on my character. It's a busy week for me but I'm still interested. :)
It's family time, but when I'm done I'll start work on a scientist character
I am also interested in a character on the science side, but I'm wondering how much activity he'd actually get.
Toy Spark Gun - somethingalamode
I'm definitely interested, but I'm not sure I can handle another RP. :/ I'll keep an eye on this
@Prints Avoid shiny Starly made me lol, Are you gonna catch it?
Hahaha nah, I just thought it might a an amusing little detail to throw in, show how he wants nothing more than to get back into town at this point. I'm just having fun with this spoiled rich boy who... romanticized? being out in nature with the Pokemon and is now having to deal with the realities. He's determined to get used to it though.
Amos trudged along, a sour expression on his face. The rain that had begun about an hour earlier was beginning to die down. While he typically enjoyed big storms and rainy days, getting caught out in the rain so close to town was not helping his already tired mood. Not that it was a heavy rain. In fact it was a light drizzle. The first few minutes had been pleasant, but at this point towards Amos felt thoroughly soaked. He made a mental note to buy himself a rain jacket at the first opportunity. His hoodie was just not going to cut it. He gave a light sigh in relief as the sun came out from behind the clouds once more, its golden light making him squint a bit until he grew used to it again. He pulled off his hoodie as the wet material was starting to get uncomfortable. He used the balled up jacket to wipe the excess water off his face, hair, arms and legs, then stopped to stuff it in one of the pockets of his backpack. He released Bliss form her pokeball once more, having recalled her halfway through the rainshower. The Pokemon cartwheeled around on her feet and tail, enjoying the fresh feeling of the outdoors after the rain. As they got closer to the city, more Pokemon emerged from hiding to bask in the sun once more. Amos passed a tree with a Starly chirping loudly. As he moved on he kept passing trees each with their own individual Starly, its harsh singing straining his ears. He kept walking, always finding another Starly singing just as he got far enough from one to not hear it. "I swear it's the same one following us. It just needs to shut up..." he muttered to Bliss. As if on cue, a Starly in a tree ahead of them launched into a shrill song. It only served to irritate Amos further. He was tired, hungry, wet, and now this bird wouldn't shut up. He groaned. "Just shut up!" he yelled at the bird. The Starly raised its head indignatly, "RRRRRRLLEEEEE." "I said SHUT. UP. Stop. making. noise. please." "RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" it cried defiantly, flying out of the tree and dangerously close to his face. "Bliss. Let's practice our battling." The Aipom stopped it's frolicking and quickly ran between Amos and the Starly. The Starly angrily Growled, causing Aipom to shrink away a bit. "Go, use Astonish!" Bliss's characteristic smile disappeared and she jumped at the Starly. A black haze appeared around her and red angry face on her tail, as it spun around to hit the Starly. The Starly however remained unfazed and moved out of the way of the attack, countering with its own Quick Attack and knocking Aipom back to the ground. She rolled on the ground but stood up quickly. "Shit..." Amos muttered, realizing he had forgotten the typing of the attack in his mood. "Bliss, a sand attack! See if we can get it to stop flying around!" The Aipom nodded and kicked up sand with her tail, only to be struck by another quick attack from above before she could hit the Starly. Following the attack that had piled some sand behind her, she once again tossed in the Starly's direction. This time it successfully hit the bird's eyes. Unfortunately that was because the wild Pokemon had been in the middle of another Quick Attack which landed immediately afterward. Bliss fell back again as the Starly flew around wildly in its blindness, rather than come down to the ground and Amos had hoped. "Quick, while it can't see! A tail whip followed up by a scratch." The Aipom jumped at the Starly, turning to hit the Starly with its tail hand, followed by a scratch with its arms. It landed beneath the Starly and moved out of the way as it attempted another Quick Attack. "Try that again, Bliss! Sand Attack!" Bliss swept up further sand, getting a bit more on the Starly's eyes. At a command, she exceuted a Scratch attack with her tail, managing to knock the Starly to the ground. It countered with a Tackle, making to take off again. "Another Scratch attack! Keep it on the ground." The Aipom rushed forward, but was too slow and missed as the Starly took flight once more. It then turned around and hit with another Tackle. "Come on, another Scratch!" Aipom made to attack, but was clearly tired. She was unable to jump high enough to reach the Starly, which used another Quick Attack as soon as she landed. "All right, all right! Keep singing if you want I don't care anymore!" Amos suddenly shouted. He ran up waving his arms above his head trying to shoo off the Starly. It directed a Quick Attack right at his head then flew around a bit trilling triumphantly once more before flying off. Amos kneeled next to Aipom who had dusted herself off and was now sitting and breathing heavily. She showed a few visible injuries. "Sorry girl, I thought we were ready for that," he said as he put his hand and head. "You did great though. I'll get us the rest of the way to Floaroma, get you healed, and we can treat ourselves to some good food." He held up the Pokeball and recalled his Aipom in a burst of red light, then stood up. He began walking towards town, the first building already coming into view. The songs of the Starly making his mood even worse. He didn't even care to notice that one of them seemed a bit off in color.
