replace your ic blunder with a cute gif image. Thems the rules.

Blunder? What blunder? I see no blunder here, no sir. Nope.

@Stern Algorithm @Regitnui I edited my post instead of posting a new one. Here's the post so it'll show up in your notification.

EDIT: Aaaand I totally just remembered now that we're supposed to talk first about using elemental powers. Boss @Zelosse, if there's anything that needs changing or something, lemme know. I was making things up on the spot.

The surface of the river solidified into icy scales, the elemental revealing more of its true nature. No longer quiet in its bed, the river encircled Lyra. "Have you any skills of which to boast?"

"Ah, err, maybe?" Lyra replied nervously. It didn't sound like she knew what she was going to do, and she didn't really, but her eyes were already darting around looking for a solution. The water serpent seemed to be swelling, looking less like a snake out of the water and more a giant rising from the river. The water surface was freezing, holding ShiZhen in place. Lyra's mind raced through that. If the law of physics still hold, the heat that used to be there must go somewhere. And the water that was encircling her, they were definitely water, though she had a feeling that if she was just going to stand there, they'd turn to ice with her inside of it.

She felt some part of her panicking. There's no time to think! Stay here and you'll be popsicle!

"Yaaargh!!" Lyra shouted and ran, throwing herself against the incoming wave. And as she yelled she felt a gust of wind carrying her and banging against the water. Banging, that was the word the popped into her head. Like someone beating the drum, the energy carried and rippled through the water, disrupting its course. But her meager power was still no match for the entire river, and she could feel the water righting itself and catching up to her. So she ran, right onto the frozen surface of the bridge, and slid to where her friend was with the tailwind guiding her.

"Hey! ShiZhen!" Meeting up to her friend, Lyra held her hand and started to kick at the ice that was pinning her leg. "We gotta move! Can you get the ice off?"

Heeey, I had to stick offline for a week and forgot to put a note here. Am back now, though, so, eh

I am enjoying this Silas vs Felix drama, just so you folks know. Please continue.

@Stern Algorithm @Regitnui [Edited] Nevermind, I'm dumb and didn't check the post page.
On a somewhat related note, I kind of hate it that the forum tries to guess the last post you read instead of just going to the latest page? It has made me look like a fool like a million times.

Unless you think you can improve her chances.

Well I still don't know what the challenge is about, so I'm not sure what a bumbling wind girl can do here. Don't wait for me ^^

I think I have to wait for the water/water serpent to respond first, @Regitnui?
It's okay, I'm fine with waiting. I'm a little concerned about the others, though. I get that people are busy, but I haven't heard a peep from any one of the others...? It's rather alarming.

Yeaaaah, I pretty much kind of assumed the RP's dead already? If you two are still up I can thin the cast, kick some characters out? Add something more exciting than just people talking with people about themselves? But I'm not sure if anything can salvage the RP at this point.

Which I'm fine with, to be honest. It's been a fun run, short as it is.

She looked over to Lyra for reassurance before continuing, "We're wet and tired, and probably lost, and I'm not even sure why I'm out here right now..."

The river creature was fascinating, but when ShiZhen expressed her discomfort Lyra's attention jerked. We... are?

See, Lyra wasn't what you would call a sensitive sort. Perceptive, sure, but she's not really skilled at reading emotions, or whether she'd offended anybody, or if she's pushing someone too far. Even without knowing a thing of what they're supposed to do, she was having good fun running around the forest.

But ShiZhen was tired and worried and maybe even scared. Maybe she shouldn't have dragged her around on her quest against the pranksters. Maybe she should have at least asked her about what she was feeling.

Lyra opened her mouth to apologize, but closed it again as she felt the eyes of the water serpent on her. "Ah, yes. We'd like to cross your bridge, please."

She eyed the river nervously. It rippled unnaturally in the creature's wake, as if it wasn't just an elemental but the entire river. Is the entire river a living creature...? At least it didn't seem hostile.

@Stern Algorithm Hey, how are you doing? Err, if you're not sure about posting, Lyra could be the one to start "negotiating" with the river... creature, person, elemental?

Lyra and ShiZhen followed the sound of water, and sure enough, they found their way to the river. It flowed calmly through the forest, but fortunately not soundlessly, otherwise someone would get very wet for the umpteenth time today. The fog wasn't as thick here, but it was hard to see where the river came from and where it was snaking towards. Lyra crouched down next to it and dipped her hand into the fresh water. Lackimg any water elemental skills, it was merely cool and refreshing for her.

"You were right, ShiZhen. Here's a river," Lyra said cheerfully. She looked up and scanned her surrounding, or at least so much as he could see. "It's pretty wide, I don't think we're supposed to swim throu-ah!" She got up and pointed her flashlight. "You were right again. There's a bridge."

Lyra turmed to her friend and only then noticed, really noticed, the expression on ShiZhen's face. "What's wrong?" she asked."You look like you're seeing a... well, uhh, ghost?"

Hmm, is there any ambush you're setting up for Lyra and ShiZen @Zelosse? Or should we come up with something? Because otherwise this is gonna be a breeze~ (?)
