Looking around from where he laid, there seemed to be stars all around him, Kalar felt himself being lifted and set on his feet. His knees wobbled for a bit before steadying themselves. He looked up to hear the man called the "Star Child" for some strange reason setting the tables back up and asking if he were old enough to drink.
"Of course, I am old enough. The legal age is fifteen. I am no kid," Kalar says while trying to keep on his feet. He starts reaching for a chair, as to insure he does not fall over again. Finding one, he lowers himself down to see a woman moving away form him and then disappearing in a light.
"I think, though, I have had enough. I think that was my fifteenth beer or so."
He looked up to see the dancers still going. So graceful. If only he had the courage, he could go up and join them. Now, the jobs must be gone by now. Might as well go check. Kalar stood back up, and moved slowly to the board.

Ah....Ok...
Leaning back on a chair in the corner, Kalar held a mug with beer, sipping at it from time to time. Once again, a bunch of his guild mates were goofing off again. He smiled at the thought of this, something he had started to do when he entered Fairy Tail. Before coming, he would always be working. Now, he could do what he wanted, if he had the money. Feeling for his pouch, he struggled for a bit before falling onto the ground, unable to keep his balance. His mug went flying for a bit before spilling all over him, and a table next to him.
Kalar did not turn to see if there was anybody that got splashed, but he felt a wetness on his clothes.
"Not again!" with a cry of despair. He would have to get cleaned and then get a job, but all the jobs may be gone. Propping himself up, he lost his balance again, falling over the chair and fell to the ground. Before he fell though, his hand pushed down on the other adjacent table, upending the contents of beer onto him again; this time, most of it went down his throat, but now it burned, as he was not prepared. He laid there, trying to recover from the shock of more alcohol being consumed. Today was not a good day.

History: Kalar was born in the midst of a snowstorm, one of the worst ever recorded. On January 21st, he was found on the footsteps of the Parallax family, bound with a black blanket and a letter stating that they were now in charge of the boy. For the next sixteen years, he worked in their blacksmith shop, learning in how to make knives, scythes, horseshoes, and all kinds of house supplies. Of course, there was no demand for plows, because the land was covered in snow and ice most of the time.
One time, Kalar was skating on the local pond with his small group of friends at the age of 8 when the ice broke and one of his friends fell in. Kalar stood there at the horror while the rest tried to help. Needless to say, his friend died, leaving that image forever with him.
Several years passed since then. He lived a normal life, working in the blacksmith in the cold north. Then, a traveler came by, wanting his horse shod. Mr. Parallax did the first three before being called by the local mayor about a boy in a well again. He called Kalar over to do the last one.
While working on putting a shoe on a horse, the animal threw it out into the snow. The powder was lifted into the sky before covering the piece of metal. Kalar had not time to react before sighing. He would have to go get it. He stood up and marched into the stuff, bending down to brush off the dust to find the shoe. After a few minutes, he found it. He reached down to grab it when his hand started to glow with a white light. It flashed before disappearing. In its place was a exact replica of the shoe. Shocked by the coldness of it, he threw it. Knowing it would break on contact of the ground, he ran after it to make sure it was gone. However, he first grabbed the piece of metal, as he knew that Mrs. Parallax would strip his flesh for losing it.
He walked up to where it was and it was still together, not even a crack. With such surprise, he began to run back home. The adults did not believe his story until he went and grabbed the ice shoe and threw it onto a piece of rock with all his strength. It did not break! The adults soon contacted a local mage to transfer the boy somewhere he could learn to control his magic. The mage brought him to Fairy Tail and he has been there for over 3 years.
Personality: He cares about his friends, but is shy around people. He also dislikes his magic as the seen of the ice breaking. However, he has learned to use some of his power reluctantly. If engaged in battle, he would mostly likely run, as he wants to avoid conflict. But, if engaged and trapped with nowhere to go, he will call forth two blades of ice and be a source of death.

OK. Thank you. I was just trying to brainstorm. I will probably make a ice mage with inanimate.
I would like to join. Just have to think of a good magic element. Maybe like how Gray does ice-create (it has been a while since I watched Fairy Tail). I am leaning a bit towards metal manipulation. Thoughts? I can post my cs later today if not tomorrow.
