Current Some events have happened in my life which has driven me to decide between leaving or staying here. I've decided to leave. I will no longer be on this site to roleplay. I may come back as Rae Zerg .

Well, my Father was in the ER after throwing up blood today. Apparently an ulcer burst and now he can't eat anything more than soup. I'll be home for the next two days off of work though.

I...don't know why corporate can be closed on July 4th but the stores themselves can't.

Just spent the last four hours bringing sheetrock into my house and helping my father place it on the ceiling and walls of one of our rooms. Everything hurts.

What about people like me with never ever take anything artificially created when they get sick and let my body handle it with the help of rest and soup and tea? I mean, I get better in maybe a week when I get the flu, while still going to school and everything I need to be doing on the days that I'm not vomiting.

Letting your body handle it is great. Your body increases its resistance to certain strains of disease by handling them by themselves. But, if it is influenza you'd have to be careful especially during winter seasons. The cold of winter can make the flu worse and while your body may grow to be immune to one strain, another strain'll come along which your body doesn't have immunity to. Thus, you'd have to go through the process nearly every year. In an apocalypse like we have in this roleplay, vomiting can be a very bad thing even if it doesn't seem as such. Vomiting forces up a mixture of bile and whatever has recently gone in you out of your body. The bile is not fun to deal with and you don't want to lose a limited amount of supplies even if it is only over a week. Even the most minor of viruses and bacteria can cause serious trouble without modern amenities.
There are two basic shapes of bacteria that you'll see quite often. There is bacilli which is rod shaped and cocci which is circular shaped. Clusters of cocci together form three common forms. These forms are diplococci, staphylococci, and streptococci. But, there are also the forms of spirillum(Corkscrew) and vibro(C or comma) which appear along side the cocci and bacilli. Unlike their viral cousins, bacteria produce far faster and are far easier to cure in most cases than viruses. Influenza is a virus which comes in three forms. The most common form in Influenza A and are classified by using H a number and N then a number. It is the fast growing virus and perhaps one of the most dangerous if left untreated in the winter time. Influenza can cause progression into bronchitis by weakening the immune system. If the bronchitis goes untreated then pneumonia can form as well. Pneumonia causes approximately four million deaths a year so in the apocalypse catching such a disease without the possibility of treatment by anti-viral or antibiotics means a near certain chance of death.

So how about that Sven?

Edit: Also, if you know Legionnaires disease than you might be surprised about this. Legionnaires disease was discovered at a meeting for people of some Legion or another here in America. I don't quite remember who they were but after their dinner, many people started to express symptoms of Legionnaires. After some epidemiologist was sent into study, it was discovered that the cause was from the food. Primarily a salad was the culprit. The lettuce which had been used had been watered by a singular pipe at a farm containing a bacteria. The plant which produced the lettuce had not known about the bacteria which managed to mostly survive their cleaning system. What did survive, was capable of reproduction inside the bags. So, when the dinner was held the bacteria was primed and ready to infect a new host and thus travel to humans.

Edit2: Actually to clear the above up I must say that Legionnaires is technically caused by bacteria in aerosolized water. So technically it is true as the above.
@Sven the Silent Common Knowledge where you are from perhaps. In America medical knowledge such as the above is rather rare to find from the common populace. I'll look for something to impress you with. If I can't find something then I'll turn to my brother, he is more of an encyclopedia than I am.

Scarily accurate, are you looking for an actual zombie apocalypse?

Nah, I'm mostly a walking encyclopedia. I spent a good two years in a club at my school who's focus was on medical fields and studies as part of competitions. When I joined, my competition happened to be epidemiology. So, the spread of viruses is particularly my area but I know some rather important medical needs for a long term infection because of it. Tends to happen when you read about twenty articles in a single year from many different authors over time who believe a mass scale pandemic is possible and the chance is increasing as time goes on.
I'm currently working on another post as soon as I am done sending a pm to Penguin about some things I am looking to clarify for his roleplay so I can finish a sheet.

Now to continue with information needed to survive the apocalypse. When looking for medical supplies most people will take simple things like Neosporin, bandaids, bandage wraps, peroxide, first aid tape, pain pills, and so on and so forth. What is left behind is prescription medicines, maybe some gauze pads, self-adhering wraps, and pain relief ointments. What you don't want to do is collect the prescription meds. Prescription medicines might be a good idea short term but unless you have a medical professional with your group you don't want to takes pills just according to what you feel is fitting. Prescriptions can be highly addicting and what you don't want to deal with in the apocalypse is an addiction to a drug which has gone out of production. What you need will be the pain relief ointments, specifically the kind for joint pain. This way you can relieve the pain you endure from intense physical work everyday in your group.

If you find an unopened box of gauze pads or gauze wrap then take it. Gauze in general is a good idea to have as it is a sterile bandage that is very easy to use and very flexible. You don't want bandaids to cover large wounds on your body since they restrict the flow of air which hinders the coagulation of blood. To go on a short spiel here, oxygen sticks to blood causing it to turn red but also changes the density of blood allowing it coagulate better. Self-adhering wraps are mostly for covering over the gauze but some have bandaged sides so it can be used as a bandage. You want to pick up things for long term survival as well. These include fiber supplements, diarrhea relief, various vitamins and supplements, cold and flu medicine, and cough drops. If there is a person who smokes in your group, get nicotine and wean them off smoking so that they don't hinder the group.

That is all I'll give y'all today. Perhaps at one point I'll open a guide in the Articles and Guide forum about surviving an apocalypse at this rate. What do y'all think?
I'll tell ya what I hate. I hate it when a person turns down roleplaying with you simply cause you are seen as new to the guild. I know I'm I've been here for less then two months but that gives ya no reason to be a pretentious prick to me simply cause you've been here longer. This ain't my first time around on the guild, in fact this is my second time coming back here. While I won't say what my other account is, I won't sit around and let some think I'm as new to this as a child. Before Guildfall I had been on the Guild for a year and I came back to the Guild a mere week after it was brought by the all mighty Mahz. So don't come crying to me about how you don't want to roleplay with somebody new to the Guild when you know nothing about what I've done before this account ya pretentious fool.
Alright then, I'll get to work on Ulster's vassals. @babbysama if you are done with Runvall's vassal before I'm done are you willing to work on Inlaa's vassals?
So, I've been wondering how well we would survive if there was an actual zombie infection. I'm pretty sure I would be capable of surviving as long as I am not alone. I guess I wouldn't survive alone simply cause I'm not a one man army but I also I'm almost a walking encyclopedia sort of like Anastasia is. But I have no physical disabilities to increase my chance of death or anything. So, how do y'all think you'd survive a zombie infection?

Also, interesting bit of information on survival here, you can use any alcohol with a proof of 80 to clean out wounds if received. The most common form of alcohol with 80 proof is vodka. Other alcohols with a proof of 80 or higher are bourbon(whiskey), absinthe, brandy(70-120proof), Everclear, gin, some rums, tequila, and Whiskey. So, if you ever need to clean out a cut in a zombie apocalypse all you need to do is find any of these alcohols and you can do as much. Though, Everclear and absinthe are illegal in the US so finding any of them probably won't happen.

Edit: Alcohols at 80 proof are 40% alcohol and high enough to act as a sanitizer. Every 20 proof is equal to 10% alcohol.
Edit2: It is suggested by the CDC to use alcohols of 50-90% to kill the majority of bacteria.
@ulsterwarrior I would say you are accepted. Does anybody feel the opposite? If not, then I shall begin work on your vassals.
And for now Dante awaits alone in the pews of the church for somebody to arrive. Just trying to strike up some conversation here. So, what do y'all think of the pairings? I find it amusing the Zolgen and I got each other's characters paired together.
