We wrote out a skeleton with quick actions, then Kilo finished it, and I fleshed it out. I think planning out who would win and how the actions happened is a lot easier than writing a whole chunk of text at a time.
Cora listened to Guardian with half an ear. Something about fighting, something about a sheet on the far side of the wall, and the rest was just nonsense she didn't care about. So Cora went to the listed pairings and saw that she was paired with Avis. The cat eared girl who looked like a German wuss. Just as she read the name, the girl came up behind her.

"Wanna go first and get the embarrassment over with?" Cora said with a cruel smile. There was no hint of a joke in her voice.

Avis said nothing, and followed her to the mat.

"I'm going first, so you all can see how it's done!" Cora yelled, trying to clear the mat. She was so confident in her ability to win, she didn't remove her sunglasses.
Cora opened with a right hook at Avis. Avis ducked below the right hook and attempted to slam both her palms into Cora's temples, causing her ears to ring and temporary disorientation. Cora didn't block Avis's attack, but aimed a punch at Avis's exposed stomach. Avis took the punch to the stomach and grabbed Cora's shoulders, throwing her down with Avis's weight. Avis readied a right palm at Cora's jaw, but Cora tried to turn her face to avoid it.

When Avis was about to strike her again, Cora retaliated by using her legs to push Avis off her. It worked, Avis staggered back and tried to get back into a fighting stance, just waiting. Cora didn't make her wait long however, before charging bare-handed, at the last second changing into a slide and pulling out her knife. Without a second thought Cora stabbed it at Avis' leg. Avis, with barely a second to spare, spun around, dodging the knife. Avis then grabbed Cora's arm and threw her to the ground again. Instead of giving Cora a chance to stab at her again, Avis slammed her foot down hard on Cora's hand while twisting to kick Cora in the face. Cora struggled, but the kick to her face disoriented her, and the crack in Cora's sunglasses only made her worry further.

"Crazy bitch!" Avis yelled before walking away.

"Where do you think you're going?" Cora said as she grabbed Avis' ankle, tripping her.

Ignoring the pain, Cora rolled onto Avis, returning the blows on her face. That's for ruining my only pair of sunglasses, Slam. That's for kicking me in the face, the list went on and on until Avis managed to wedge her leg between her and Cora, using it to kick Cora off. Cora was knocked away, as well as the wind knocked out of her. After a few sputtering coughs, Cora regained most of her breath before Avis even stood up. Cora snatched up her knife again and ran over to kick Avis in her side, making the cat eared freak fall to the mat again. Cora raised her knife, just to finish off the match, until she was falling towards the mat again. Avis had slammed Cora behind her knee, causing her to fall towards the mat. Cora didn't have enough time to process the elbow flying at her face until she felt the pain. Avis grabbed her chest, lifting the dazed Cora to her face.

"Fuck you!" Avis headbutted Cora three times, each producing a sharp crack. Then let Cora fall again.

Cora did nothing but take off the now useless glasses -they came apart in her hands-, and lay there, eyes closed. She was just too exhausted and too badly hurt to continue the fight. Cora waited for ages just for the last, final attack. The knife or a gun, whichever Avis decided was fit to put her down.

Instead, when Cora opened her eyes Avis was standing over her, offering her hand. Cora glared at her through mostly closed eyes, but decided to take the hand. Suddenly Cora was on her feet, and being patted on the back. With all the throwing, Cora winced, and pushed away from Avis.

"If you couldn't fight the way you did, I wouldn't trust working with you on this team. It's good to know someone else sees this as a fight for survival, nothing more, nothing less." Avis said.

Cora snarled at Avis, "don't touch me." Then walked away, using her hand as a shield against the harsh light.

I think I just made a new friend. Avis thought with a chuckle.

At least she's not afraid to fight, Cora thought as she walked back to the main dorm area.
The only reaction she got from changing her eye color was slight surprise. When it didn't produce the effect she had wanted, Zula changed her eye color back to blue. Zula sighed, and immediately took back her disappointment as the girl said she was pretty. Especially for and Aphrodite girl. Now it was Zula's turn to be embarrassed and flustered. "Oh, uhm, thank you. I can safely say I haven't received that compliment from other girls before." Zula smiled and stared at her empty plate. It took some concentration to not let her hair turn as red as her face. She may have been the daughter of the love goddess, but that didn't mean she was called pretty a lot.

One of the guys who had been fighting earlier stopped by on their table. "Well, typically most people start their days with breakfast, but I suppose fighting in the Ares' group should be expected, not unpredictable. Hopefully the Hephaestus kid won't get himself into trouble." Then the situation was completely diffused as the Hephaestus kid chastised the guy as well. "I suppose he didn't. Besides, if everything works out, Chiron said there might be Capture the Flag later today. Don't wanna jepordize our chances for that, now don't we?"
I'm sorry. While I was interested in this originally, I am no longer. Farewell.
Um, okay. I have to write an intro sort of bit for it first. At the moment, it's just the fight and nothing else.
Edited.
I think we're finished.
This girl seemed so tense. Zula smiled after finishing her waffle and sat back. "Oh, do I have something on my face?" she pretended to pick at her face, as though she were look for food. She rubbed her right eye and made it green, so when she opened it again, it was a completely different. "Did I get it?" she sounded genuinely curious, but she was waiting for the other girl's reaction. Messing with people like that was fun, but she couldn't do it all the time without getting yelled at.

As she joked with the girl, she heard the situation heating up. There were falcon cries and zap noises, and suddenly, Zula had no interest in breaking up the fight. She was without her sword and no good at hand to hand combat yet. More than likely she'd just be in the way and get hurt from doing anything. So instead she continued to indulge in her conversation with the Hermes kid. Or maybe she was unclaimed? Zula couldn't assume anything with the Hermes cabin inhabitants, which was kind of sad. There were so many people stuffed in there like unwanted toys.
Sariel didn't like traveling in the car. Mostly because whenever they did it was cramped, crowded, and it broke down on them constantly. Why doesn't Gabriel just let me teleport everyone places? It would be faster. Sariel thought as she left the car. She had always figured the car was sentimental to Gabriel or something for him to have held onto it for so long. As she inspected the run down hotel, she tried to figure out the most likely place humans would hide their salt. If she recalled correctly, the moronic humans didn't understand it was a weapon, so they used it as a condiment.

Why they didn't store it in an armory was beyond Sariel. Salt was especially precious now, with the demons rampaging across America and crossing into other territories. However, as she walked to the kitchen to grab the salt, she noticed that Kyra was reading instead of putting up salt. Sariel would reprimand her later. For now she had to get the salt from the kitchen, or the demons would infiltrate the hotel and they'd be worse off than they were right now. She entered the kitchen and started to pilfer the cupboards for salt. She'd learned that places like this had enormous stores of food which always meant lots of salt as well. She never quite understood why people would want to temporarily sleep in rooms next to other strangers, but it apparently was a human thing.

Sariel located the store of salt and started to pull it out towards the lounge. It was impractical to spread the salt all over the hotel. For now it was best to simply pick a spot and line it with salt. From Krya's relaxed state, it would be the lounge. At least it wasn't as cramped as the car was, but it still smelled. They probably weren't the first to squat here for the night, and most definitely they were not going to be the last.
I had forgotten about that. It just seems to predominantly be about Christianity lately.
