I'm cool with whatever, but I think that males are only allowed to bunk with males and so on? Unless I'm wrong? Either way I'm pretty sure Nyx doesn't care. You'd have to deal with snoring and food everywhere, though.

@Silverwind Blade
So are they separated by gender or?
Right. It was called a Mess Hall, Nyx realized when the Isorlai corrected her. And Nyx was a Lieutenant which was cool and better than 'Engineering Gremlin' as her old superiors called her. This was exciting and cool and... in all the excitement, Nyx missed that the group was moving out to take a tour of the ship. Nyx walked quickly to keep up with the rest of the group, which she was glad she caught up to, because otherwise she'd have gotten lost amongst all the twists and turns of the ship.

She knew she'd figure it out eventually, but for now she figured that she'd just get lost going anywhere. However, it would be easy to find their bunks, because of the giant plaque. Nyx smiled big, because that looked like the squad was a big deal. Which was extra cool, because now she was a part of the big, cool explorer team.

Nyx heard her name and turned to listen.

"I understand from your profile that you have a lot of engineering experience. I want you to work with Masaryk and the engineering crews to get our fighters ready for arrival. They were delivered to use straight back from depot-level maintenance, and are still in the last stages of reassembly and calibration. I will be scheduling time for everyone to work on them with the crews as well to get them calibrated and fitted properly for all of us too. As well as that, there's plenty more on the slate too. Admin work, medical checks and more, and we've got somehow, fit all of it in. Sorry it's such a rush, but we'll find time. First off though, time for the grand tour... once you get your rooms sorted. I'll... stand back and let you argue that one amongst yourselves."

"Got it. But first, we tour. Then we eat." Nyx said, smiling.

Then she went off to the kitchen to see what was there. A stove, and a refrigerator. She opened the fridge and started stuffing her pockets with various bits and pieces of food and one can of soda went into the bag. Once she was done she started to scout of rooms, and picked the one she liked the feel of most. She plopped her bag on the bed and then went out into the main area, picking a chair to sit on and wait out the arguments. She'd already claimed her room, so if they wanted to fight her for it, they'd have to kick her out first.

I can bunk with Nyx if it is okay for male and female to share quarters :p @Silverwind Blade was it just restrooms that where seperate or was sleeping quarters that too?

I'd be cool with that, if that's allowed.

Sounds good to me!
Nyx loved hyperspace jumps. They felt tingly and different from regular traveling. A lot of people felt ill or nauseous after the jumps, but Nyx always felt invigorated by them. She was passing through space faster than the speed of light. Light! Light was the fastest thing that Nyx could think of and she was moving faster than it. It felt kinda special to do that, even if to everyone else it was pretty commonplace. Nyx smiled and adjusted her bag on her lap during the flight, even sneaking out a few granola bars to eat during the trip. She wasn't sure, but she thought someone was glaring at her while she ate the bar.

However, the trip was soon over and Nyx found herself grabbing her bag and meandering towards the front. She wasn't sure what to expect from being in a fighting squadron, but she'd seen how close those other people from the squadron whose ships she worked on were and hoped it wasn't going to be like she was trying to fit in with a group that had already formed and bonded. Which wasn't possible, but he brain liked to pick out the work possible scenario and run with it.

Well, if it didn't work out she still had a job back home -maybe.

Nyx walked out onto the platform, but she couldn't see her CO. So she instead opted to try and find the cafeteria, which to her was the next best thing. She could find food then she could figure out where the person in charge was. Besides, now was the perfect time as most people even think about eating right now when they could be unpacking.

Nyx could unpack right now, too. But instead she figured that a bag in the mess hall would be the least of anyone's worries. She began to walk towards the back of the hangar, where the doors were when she realized that she didn't know where the mess hall was. She was better off trying to find her CO and asking for directions.

She turned back to try and see where the commander was, because if this person had any logic, they'd be near where the pilots were supposed to get off. But then again she'd heard that the higher ranked you were the closer to politicians they were. From what she'd heard about these 'politicians' they have very little sense. However, there was no way they'd put a politician in charge of a fighter squadron.

Logic it is.

Besides, Nyx noticed a few pilots from the shuttle approach an Isorlai and seem to pay respect to the alien -person?- she'd seen all the League Space aliens before and worked with a few on her homeworld, but the idea of it was still a foreign thing, that everyone had different cultures and ideas. She thought that they all had the same ideas, like when groups formed back home. Nyx didn't understand space diplomacy.

She walked up to the group and attempted to mimic the other Terran's posture and gestures. She didn't understand military life fully, and truth be told she avoided high-ranking officials when she worked her last job, so she'd forgotten the procedure with them.

"Nyx Miles reporting in! Engineering Specialist and new pilot! I'm excited to be here!" Nyx all but yelled. "Where's the food court, ma'am?"
Hey its no problem. You're indirectly helping me too, since I'm playing an elf I kinda need to know of of this stuff anyway.
Me too! I wanna see how all these serious people react to Nyx and her strangeness.

Name:
Jasper of Steelport

Aliases:
None yet

Age:
23

Race:
Elf

Nationality:
Raliven

Religion:
Agnostic, doesn't affiliate with the major religions.

Appearance:
Short brown hair and green eyes. His hair is often messy and choppy, as he doesn't want anyone else to cut his hair. Often prefers to wear leather armor and a hood. Prefers to wear dark green over any other color. He's built thin and tall like most elves, but his right ear is nicked and the tip is missing. He stands at about 5' 5".

Specialty:
Jasper was trained in monster hunting at the academy, though only because it was an easy way to make a profit. He focused more on stealth and knife skills than magic, though he was forced to learn limited healing magic due to his abilities which he insists on not learning about. His talents lay in ambushing enemies and staying hidden. Jasper uses a pair of knives and light armor for his gear. He can also use his fists when necessary, but that works better on humanoids than monsters. He is also skilled in escaping wherever he is held.

Personality:
Jasper is extremely sarcastic, always with a smile and a quip. He's just as likely to try and con you out of all your coin as make jokes while fighting you. He's extremely loyal to his friends, though he tends to alienate anyone he meets through his sarcasm and con man tactics. He's used to operating alone, so working in a group is new, but he isn't opposed to it. Jasper has no attachment to any one church or religion, deciding that the world does not care about how pious you are. Jasper often goes out on his own to do various tasks, making him somewhat unreliable in a team.

Bio:
Born 759 AFS, Jasper was given to the church after being abandoned there. Jasper grew up in the church, and after he turned eight years old, it was discovered that the little elf boy had a talent for magic. They also didn't know that at the time he had a talent for stealing and theft, which he would work on when not required at the church for work. It mostly started as a way to subvert the church and the morals he had grown tired of hearing about. Jasper particularly enjoyed stealing from the rich parishioners who never gave to the tithes box anyway.

The church work Jasper did was mostly cleaning and rewriting old texts, which had always been set on a strict schedule. He very quickly learned how to read and write through it, and when to sneak off from his dumb tasks and how to avoid the priests. He learned how to be small and avoid notice, and most of all, he learned that the priests were just as hypocritical as they sounded when they preached. Jasper decided that letting the priests dictate his life wasn't worth it. Plus, he discovered the reason they were sending him away was that they expected the elf to have magic abilities from the start, and expected the boy to simply go with their plan.

When he began the mage school, he was also informed that he would have to sever his ties to the church, and abandoned all the church's plans for him. So after Jasper said his goodbyes to the church priests he had known all his life, he left the school but stayed in Raliven while stealing from the nobles and occasionally the Chevaliers. He quickly became someone who knew all the ins and outs of the Raliven underground, but decided against working with anyone.

Jasper was bored of Raliven and decided to try and see what Saria had to offer, as it held the big academy and the Arena. He continued to steal in Saria, but decided that he'd attempt something different than stealing, which proved to be hard to figure out. As he wandered, he discovered that the rampant monster problem could easily make some cash and an exciting lifestyle. However, he needed to convince the headmaster he was worth submitting, so he attempted to fight a monster on his own.

Before anything too bad happened, monster slayers stepped in and killed the Demon before Jasper ended up dead. When his plan failed, Jasper decided to try and apply to normal way, but quickly ran into another problem. He needed a last name. He quickly made one up, and submitted it. The headmaster eventually accepted it, somewhat suspicious, but unable to find fault with the 'donation' that had arrived at the same time as the application.

The basic training was boring, and the classes he took only attempted to help him with his magic, which he decided wasn't worth his time or energy. Reading and writing was easy while some of the practical appliaction was passable. When basic training rolled around, his archery was... abysmal. He hit a target once in the entirety of the training.

After four years, Jasper wondered if doing anything more was worth it, but stayed on to fight monsters and whatever they wanted. He passed all his classes, and tried not to let them put him into any advanced magical classes. He instead focused on his stealth and swordsmanship classes, refining his fighting technique from street fighting and punching and kicking to something less full of hoping the other fighter ends up dead.

Jasper stayed on to continue training as an assassin/monster hunter, and while he still didn't really try to apply himself, he still worked at finishing his schooling to hunt monsters. He recently learned that in order to graduate from monster hunting he had to kill a random monster on Saria. He pulled balverine, whatever that is, and is currently working to track one down and kill it.

Hmm, actually that could work. We'll just have to kill two. No changing needed.

Except for Saria not Sarnia.
I can't believe I managed to mess that up.
