Just when I think I understand Altered Carbon, something happens and just fucks up my day.

Too bad it's not socially acceptable to kidnap people and put them in your pocket.

Bio

Hello, everyone! My name is Raleigh, and I've been role playing for a little over eleven years now. I've dabbled in a little bit of everything, and found that I really enjoy creating original things and building worlds.

My schedule is all over the place, because I'm a full time: student, bartender, cat mom, and Netflix enthusiast. So if you ever need me, it's probably easier to get ahold of me over discord.

Effy quickly pushed the bottle of vodka under the bed, spinning around the face the intruder. Finally we get to meet the misfit sitter. she thought as she smiled up at Vikki. "Yeah, everything just just peachy!" she said her voice a little too cheery for the circumstances. She jumped up, rushing to slam the door before Alex could do anymore damage.
Effy had watch the girls interacting before her for sometime now. Their personalities were so distinct, none of them cookie cutter; it was a breath of fresh air compared to the bimbos at school.
"Sorry for just creepily watching. I just thought I would get a feel for you girls before I opened my big mouth." she said with a shrug. "Anyslut, care for a drink...uh, Amber was it?"
Great! I've posted in the other Forums, under the same title!
Allen's movements caught Effy's eye, pulling her gaze in his direction. She watched as he stocked out of the room with a glance back at who she assumed to be his...sister? twin? she couldn't tell. The girl looked frail, as if she would fall apart if someone simply blew on her. Poor girl. Effy took one last chug of vodka before pushing in the direction of the new girl. "Think of it as a peace offering. A welcome to our humble...abode."
"Your parents are Christian pricks, too? I thought I was the only one who had bastards for parents." Effy said as she took to bottle of vodka back from Alex. Something told her that she was going to like this girl, even if they would only be friends for the short time they were at camp. "Anyway," she continued with another swig "I think my parents got tired of walking in on me with multiple men. So, they sent me away. To summer camp. I'm disappointed there are no ponies."
"I'll show you mine, if you show me yours." Effy said simply as she pulled the cheap bottle of vodka from her bag, placing it on the floor beside her.

She didn't wait for Alex to return the favor, but chose to start unpacking instead. She mulled over Alex's question as she placed her neatly folded clothes into the footlocker under her bed. Why was she there? There were so many reasons, she didn't know where to begin. Effy sighed as she ran heavily ringed fingers through her bleach blonde hair. "Not good enough for my parents," she said with a halfhearted shrug. She opened the bottle of vodka, taking a swig before offering it to Alex. "What about yourself?"
Effy pushed open the door to the cabin, a wave of stale musty air greeting her and Alex. She took in a deep breath of fresh air before entering the spacious room. swallowing the feelings of being a five again. Camp had always been her least favorite place, and 13 years of not attending camp had not changed that sentiment.
There wasn't much to the room, just a few beds. No rafters, probably to keep the campers "safe", she noted as he threw her designer bag next to the bed nearest the door, wincing at the sound of glass hitting wood. There goes that secret. she thought with a sheepish smile in Alex's direction.
Effy turned to face Alex, her false smile turning into one of amusement and interest. I seem to have found my ray of sunshine she thought. "Care to join me on my journey to our cabin?" she asked Alex as she repositioned her bags.
Effy plastered on her most cheerful smile, her vibrant green eyes seeming the sparkle with mischievousness. "Ephesian Winters, but it would be much simpler if you called me Effy." she said as she took in the people around her. They looked as miserable as she felt, not that she expected these people to be rays of sunshine.
Effy stared out the window of her father's Mercedes, her music drowning out the sound of her father's monotone voice. She was almost excited for this place, anything that got her away from her parents was a "blessing" in her eyes. Her father pulled to a stop as he leaned towards her pulling out one of her earbuds; his wrinkles were etched with a stern look of concern, "This is for your own good, Ephesian. Please don't screw this up." he said as if pleading with her.
Effy simply patted his knee with a patronizing smile before leaning in the back to grab her bags. With another quick smile, she was out of the car and up the path.
