Katherine remained still, barely breathing in the field, she watched quietly as a four legged dog-like beast ran through the desert. It looked like it was having a blast, being free, no compromise, no restraints. She smiled as she whispered to the beast to guide the rest of it's pack towards the pair of actors on the motorbikes.

She was hired for her ability to "sculpt" beasts for various movies, mostly sci-fi, fantasy and occasionally nature films where they wanted the feel of a "real live" extinct animal without the budget for CG. Occasionally, they liked having her creatures roaming about to give the actors a better reaction when the beasts were actually real to them.

The studio assumed some form of animatronics she produced in her studio, then brought to set. In reality, Muse summoned them from pure quantum and some paint. Instead of the need for expensive radios, her voice possessed a simple hypnotic rhythm that focused her creatures. She hummed a simple tune, almost bouncing her melody to time with the pack and it's race through the desert. While in the desert, Katherine wore a light tank top, and a pair of cutoff jean shorts with a simple vest with implements to create her creatures and potentially touch them up if they need it.

Then the explosion...

When the explosion hit, several of her beasts reacted to the fire and debris like wild animals should. They fled and scattered like leaves in a whirlwind. Katherine on the other hand froze solid, she didn't have her coat, or her stencils! She stared wide eyed as everyone else came to aid the injured actor and the Wendy went down...hard. Her fingers instinctively twitched for her duster, it was NuFabric, it was safe, it powered her...Wendy was always nice to her, to them "We need to focus.." She whispered to herself, it was her mantra. It was what helped make her perceive the world as Muse instead of ...her train of thought derailed itself again as she realized Wendy was hurt!

Wait, was that a person flying away? A Gamma did this?

Her attention was drawn back as one of her beasts crashed into her leg, sending her tumbling into the sand. She scrambled back to her truck reflexively. Katherine was just a wrangler who made animals for films, her other half, Muse was the one who fought. Getting back to her feet, the young woman scrambled for her truck. Pulling the door open, she shucked off the flimsy vest containing markers and pens for her Quantum constructs. She drew forth a knee length beat up brown duster. Drawing the coat around herself, Katherine felt her heart rate slowing down. She grabbed a canvas messenger bag laden with spraypaint and stencils. Katherine let out one last calming breath, and Muse drew in the next. She looked about the desert, and noted her beasts still running about. She gave a shrill whistle, the command to release. The beasts looked towards Muse before vanishing in a cloud of multicolored dyes. Drawing the heavy hood around her dark red hair, she looked towards the Gammas who were busy assessing the scene. Walking towards the gathering, she kept to the outskirts and listened. There were honest to goodness heroes in here, she just summoned heroes to fight. Wendy...Perfection seemed to be okay thanks to a healer. She let out a small breath of relief. Gamma's like Perfection could take a beating, and natural healing picked up the check. Muse wasn't nearly as lucky, thankfully she had her own ways to deal with a threat.

"Sundeck to learn more..."

Muse looked towards the others and reflexively palmed her messenger bag. She could hear Lorelei's voice echoing through her mind, wishing to be called forth.

"Not yet," she whispered softly.

The voice sharpened a little more, the sound almost grated against her mind. Lorelei paced within the recesses of her psyche, like a panther waiting for her next challenge.

She carefully adjusted the scarf around her lower face, as she looked to the other Gammas. The voice was thankfully just inside her mind.

For now.

Posted the intro, let's see how long she lasts!
Lorelei groggily opened one eye as her cell phone began the beginning to one of her favorite songs, "Angels" by Within Temptation. She tossed her sleeping bag to the side as she slowly got to her feet. The derelict church she'd adopted as her makeshift studio was a more comfortable sleeping place then her Uncle's loft. He's had strict rules about everything, screw the bed, she could make do with a sleeping bag.

She smiled as she looked at the piece she'd finished the night before, the oil painting was of a nearly luminescent woman, her wings extending beyond the edges of the canvas in defiance.

She refused to be bound to just a single picture.

Lorelei never quite knew what her obsession with winged people actually based itself on. She had zero interest in religion, just something about the freedom made sense to her. She looked down at the tracking anklet strapped around her tattooed leg. She wondered if other high school students here were tattooed as much as she was. Both arms, her legs, and if she wore any type of tank top, her back would be visible.

"Well I guess my wings are clipped for the time being." She sighed as she shrugged out of her painting clothes and picking up her clothing for the first day of school. A cut up pair of jeans, a tshirt of a comic heroine Blackcats had introduced her to. She looked to the pile of comics beside her lamp. She picked up her favorite article of clothing. Her vest. It was a pretty jacket at one point, then she nearly fell off that fire escape and tore a sleeve clean off. She loved the vest, had bleached the stencil of a pair of wings on the back. She also adorned it with a bunch of pins from various shows, and comic conventions she'd visited. Mementos that defined her as someone who isn't...she pushed those thoughts out of her head as she ran her hands through her hair and quickly slipped the vest over her shoulders.

This was her first day at Glades High, with a tracking anklet. She was going to be popular...

She left the church through the makeshift entrance through the skylight, and the fire escape from the second floor. She was used to hopping about like this, so it meant her little sanctuary was probably safe. The heavy chains made it impossible to gain access through the main door. As she landed on the gravel with a solid whoosh she heard the familiar chirp behind her. Without turning around she sighed, "I am planning to go to school as instructed,"

Officer Martinez, the only cop who agreed to be Lorelei's monitoring detail, waiting outside had a second cup of coffee waiting for Lorelei, she smiled as the girl sulked past her for a split second before turning around and taking the coffee. "You know that's trespassing right?"

Lorelei grumbled something under her breath before she said quietly, "He won't let me paint at home."

Martinez sighed, before gesturing to the car. "As far as I know, I found you at a coffee shop. Want a ride?"

Lorelei looked at the car, before checking her watch. "Can you at least drop me off a block away?" Martinez smiled, opening her door before responding.

"I don't want to make your life any more of an adjustment. Let me have a sketchbook page when you have a finished book and not only will I drop you off a block away, the church is between you and me." Lorelei smiled a little at Martinez before sipping the coffee, it was sweet, and the heat warmed her.

"Thank you...any chance you can take off the anklet?" She asked quietly. Martinez shook her head, the slight hints of a frown creasing her mouth.

"Sorry sweetie, it was that or juvie. Although from what I've heard this school will do wonders for you."

Lorelei was silent as she drank the rest of her coffee. As they pulled up to the promised "block away from school." Martinez tossed a small brown bag to her. "You packed me a lunch?"

"Did you have breakfast plans?"

"No..." Lorelei stammered. Martinez smiled as she reached over and closed the door.

"Your welcome."

Lorelei walked the rest of her way to the school, she kept looking down at the tracking anklet. "It's not that bad, it's not that bad..." She told herself over and over again as she stepped on school grounds.

Thank you :)
Main Character Info

Name: Lorelei Athene

Age: (15-16) 16

Appearance: (Can be a picture or written down)

Lorelei is 5'1, and a little shy of 110 lbs. She's not wispy, but built rather solidly to accentuate her habit of climbing and leaping about to get to points in the city where she could paint without interruption.

Hair, jet black with hues of purple and a few points of grey. Lorelei doesn't want to admit she accidentally bleached a few pieces of hair with her last mixture of paint. She often keeps it tied back with a bit of leather cord, or a hand-painted bandanna. The emblem on the front is a pair of painted wings, her signature when she was out painting.

She dresses like what she's described, "Post apocalyptic pixie" her attire is mostly paint splashed, dyed funky colors and often designs painted or stenciled across the fabric with a bleach spray. Her favorite piece of clothing is a vest with a series of hidden compartments and adorned with a bunch of pins from the various shows and comics she's read.

She's heavily tattooed, due to a deal she made with a tattoo artist who caught Lorelei painting her building, she's tattooed along her back, both arms are full sleeves, upper chest tattoo, and one leg. Her back is a pair of patchwork wings, her right arm is a series of muse themed pieces, representing ink, paint, and digital. Her left arm is comic book themed, with heroines who've inspired her.

Personality:

Lorelei is well, not always on the same plane of reality as her peers. Often she's absorbed in her sketchbook, or a potential new piece of clothing. She often will listen to those before giving her opinion, of course if this is about art. She goes from scalpel to chainsaw, often speeding up and showing an increased amount of enthusiasm about the subject. She isn't used to the school uniform, finding subtle ways to disguise her own pins and art as part of her uniform.

As she isn't exactly used to a proper school environment, she's still a little uneasy. This world, isn't the world she's accustomed to. She doesn't need to keep running, or even figure out how to get her next piece up. She still feels the other shoe is eventually going to fall, but til then, she's going to learn as much as she can!

Lorelei is a bit of a brawler, not hesitating to push back against others. She often will throw herself into a situation without thinking of the repercussions of her actions, usually to her disadvantage. She often begins to fidget in place if in a boring place for too long, resulting in another graffiti charge.

Bio:

To say Lorelei is fascinated with art is an understatement, she lives, breathes and surrounds herself with art. Growing up privileged left her isolated, often lonely. This resulted in her leaving home to adventure about the city, to mainly find something to do. That's when she met the woman who inspired her, Blackcats, a street artist of some talent who was currently putting up a statue of a winged woman holding a paintbrush like it was Excalibur.

Lorelei was fascinated by this woman, and her art. She approached Blackcats, who either was lonely herself, or saw some spark in Lorelei. She began teaching Lorelei the ropes, simple fills, shapes, and how to do rollups. Even suggested fashion choices to let her move from building to scaffolding, to walls a little easier. Her designer jeans were quickly switched to paint stained cargo pants.

Lorelei took to art like this is the first time someone introduced her to oxygen, she couldn't get enough. She began working with Blackcats through the city, helping with materials, pieces, and occasionally a lookout. Lorelei began striking out on her own, but in her excitement, she was caught and blamed with not just her pieces, but Blackcats as well.

As she sat shivering in Juvie, she waited for her parents to bail her out.

They never came...

As sentencing came around, Lorelei found herself sitting in a court room with nobody in her corner. Even her stupid public defender didn't show up.

A woman walked through the door, and gave the judge a heavy folder. The elderly man read the documents inside, before looking to Lorelei and back to the woman. The woman sat beside Lorelei and introduced herself. She was a representative of Glade Falls. They were willing to have her serve her sentence out in a more productive nature. She would enroll in Glade Fall as an artist with a focus on street art and fashion design.

Lorelei accepted the offer eagerly. Regardless of her reason, these are people who would teach her art!

Speciality: Art with a focus on street art, and Fashion design.
