I'm feeling really happy and pumped. Oh, and joyful. Haha.
Bio
Here's a list of things about me if you want to know a little bit more. Though if you actually want to get to know me, send me a PM, or talk over the OOC chat.
1. I don't generally like roleplays where my characters are forced to be serious 100% of the time; mostly because that's not how actual people work.
2. Yes, I use anime pictures for appearances. I've come to like anime less and less over the years, and personally only ever watch the movies now, and that's on incredibly rare occasions. I personally like using those over actual people faces, because people have too many specific details, and I can never find people faces that match the description I want. If you would like, I can use a text description instead.
3. I generally like to make 'pairs' of characters. Either characters that seriously contrast with each other, or work together really well but still have arguments and problems.
4. I've been forum roleplaying for just about 5 years now, and I've been tabletop roleplaying for 11 years now. I still suck at roleplaying despite being a 12 year veteran, but, what're you gonna do?
5. I really enjoy talking to people. Yes, society has gone downhill, but despite that I find serious enjoyment out of talking to people about anything. So, if I'm in an RP with you, just chat away with me. We can talk about mundane things, or go all-out on serious topics. I don't think I've come across a single person I've hated talking to, even if they were somewhat irritating or annoying. So please PM me, or just talk OOC.
6. I flipping love Inside Out, and as such, if you ever make an RP based around it, please invite me. I promise to behave of course. If one isn't made though, you know very well that I'll make my own, and I'll try my hardest to make it the best RP possible. Or, if you just want to talk about Inside Out, I'd love to do that as well.
7. Please make good characters. I understand Advanced Roleplayer's over on that section have no problem with this, but I don't like RPing over there. When I'm on casual roleplay, not many seem to care a whole lot about making good characters. They just make walking cliche's to get into an RP, and then completely change that character as the RP barely starts. It's annoying, lazy, and doesn't really make me want to accept you if I'm GM or co-GM.
Characters are the literal heart and soul of roleplaying, and should be treated as such. If you make your characters card-board cut-outs, it only tells me that you either don't care, are lazy, or that we absolutely need a moderate roleplay section on the forums to bridge the gap between posting 1-2 paragraphs with barely any work put into characters, and posting 6-8 paragraphs with enormously deep backstories, love, and care, put into characters.
8. I am a caring and nice guy, so don't be afraid to talk to me about anything. I'm fairly hard to offend, and even harder to make mad. I seriously enjoy getting to know my fellow members, so talk whenever you feel like it.
Kuranos eyes were immediately drawn to the rather intimidating looking man, who seemed to have asked him a question, that was severely amplified by his returning power. "Er, the bed flipped me?" he coyly asked, as he looked at the police officer from yesterday. It was then apparently revealed that this man was to be Kuranos 'instructor' during his stay. How come I wasn't informed of this? How come I'm never informed of anything? Where are my cigarettes? Kurano was about to panic before this Garsin man stated that he would 'start first,' which almost terrified him. He asked an almost ridiculous amount of questions, as Kurano swallowed the saliva that was building in his mouth. He attempted to regain his composure once the instructor told him to begin. Kurano halfway wanted to make a joke and say, 'is this timed, sir?' but refrained.
Kurano cleared his throat, and stood straight with his arms to his side. "My name is Kurano Tanaka, sir. I can..." Kurano paused, unsure of what he could do to benefit a team. Searching desperately in his head. He then thought back to his encounter with the creature, and spoke once more. "I can think quickly and resourcefully, sir, and I am extremely good at using my ability of sound. I've used it to avoid danger in many instances, and even managed to dodge one of those creatures attacks using it."
Reluctant to talk about his weaknesses, Kurano cleared his throat once more. "I don't work very well without a plan, so I'm not good at improv. I also have a tendency to freeze up when making decisions. I'm not very strong, but I'm sure you could tell that just by looking at me. I can't do anything with finesse to save my life, and I'm overall fairly weak." Kurano was tired of listing failure after failure, he decided to mix in some qualities as well. "I am excellent at picking out details sir, though mostly legal wise. I can pin-point specific voices or sounds using my hearing ability, and I am a quick learner. I am however, a smoker. I usually smoke five or six cigarettes a day, and usually when I'm under a lot of stress, I can... go a bit crazy." Kurano chuckled a bit, thinking about all of the times he'd flipped out from a lack of nicotine. "I've never handled any weapon beyond a knife to make food with, and a metal pipe to chase off a rabid dog. I'm just a student in college, learning to become a lawyer. But, don't underestimate me. I can swindle people, I can smart talk my way out of a terrible situation, and I know how to use my surroundings effectively."
Kurano let out a deep breath, hoping that he wouldn't be deemed a 'lost cause' right off the bat. No one else there was probably going to fair any better than him, and especially not the little girl that was still clinging onto him. Why am I being put through boot camp? I'm pretty sure even prisoners have it easier than this, Kurano thought as he calmed down.
Alright, this now begs the question of whether I should post now, or have someone else post first. I'd imagine that I probably should post, to get my introductions with Garsin out of the way, and because the plot can't move forward otherwise. What should I do lol, I don't want to be rude and post a bunch, but I have been gone a while, so maybe I should do this post anyways.
I was kind of hoping that Naoto would have messed up because of my characters barging in XD.
Also, I think whoever it was that has that gif in their sig is doing either one of two things.
1. Trolling anyone who RPs with him, because every time they look at his post, that image will be there.
2. He really likes that movie for some reason and wants to show off the scene where zombie ghoul #1 throws up a parasitic worm into pretty lady #76, and thinks that everyone should watch that on a continuous loop.
They're all just terminology that I came across through studying. Read on stuff made by Dr. Stephen LaBerge and several other experts who all said the same things. Lucid Dreams are when you're fully aware and conscious in a dream. OBEs are when you exist as a spirit in your dreams. They all tended to say the exact same things on the matter and terminology. The WILD and MILD technique, False Awakenings, dream constructs, and all of that. I do think the coolest things is the ability to speak to your sub-conscious though, which they tend to call the "dream maker". Ask it things like "What should I do?" and "Why is this happening?" and it usually answers. The best part is, you're pretty much getting these answers from a smarter and wiser version of yourself that's locked deep inside. It's the main reason I wanted to get back into this stuff.
