Red Hoods: Little Red Riding Hood

I've got most of the main story outlined and polished now. The RP thread will be up as soon as I can get it all written down. Maybe in the next two hours or so, but definitely before I call it a night tonight.

We'll start with 8 or 9 open spots. First characters submitted will be the first to be reviewed and potentially approved. If you don't make the initial cut, I'm happy to keep you in the reserves in case a player drops off. If this goes well, there will also be sequels that you're welcome to join also. These campaigns will not be endless ones so opportunity will definitely knock again.

Definitely. I'd hesitate to take on more than 10 people. That said, I also hesitate to take on too few. Like I mentioned in the OP, I expect a lot of player-driven content between Main Plot Points. If the players choose to just breeze through the main story and be purely reactive to the narrative, that's fine, but I would hope that people would be excited to make this game their own in a sense, and introduce subplots of their own to add to the action and development.

The story of the Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf was all just a fable. Or at least a some of it was.

You live in a world were monsters exist. Vampires, Demons, Witches, Werewolves... There are creatures that bump in the night and only one defense against them. The Red Hoods. Founded by the infamous Red Riding Hood, Blanchette Rouge, the Red Hoods is a privately owned military organization comprised of people of various backgrounds and special talents that stand up to those monsters. Technology is still behind. While firearms exist, they're a rarity. Most people use sharpened metal to solve their differences. Automobiles don't exist. Horse, Donkeys, Oxen... These are your Ford, Chevy and Dodges. A medieval setting, but not one that has to be historically accurate.

You are an initiate. Untested, unproven. You wear a yellow hood, announcing that you're a rookie. As you grow with the company, you may eventually earn your red hood, making you a badass of supernatural proportion.

Most of the Red Hoods are human, but that is not to say that The Red Hoods are shy about turning monsters against monsters. In addition to a Human option, you may also elect to be a Vampire, a Dhampir (half vampire. Will require detailed backstory), werewolf, witch, warlock, or possibly something else if you can think of a fitting species.

The rule is that you have to be able to interact with the rest of the team most of the time. I would hesitate on choosing a full-on vampire because it limits your interaction schedule, but I don't want to take it completely off the table because someone more creative than I might be able to figure out a way to make a vampire work.

I will be taking control of Blanchette and various "NPCs" to move the story along, in addition to the Big Bad Wolf who will be introduced later on in the story. I've got a few phases and checkpoints I want to hit, but this will be an RP with a definitive beginning and end. If it works out well, there will be sequels.

Players will be encouraged to develop their characters and introduce subplots. I'll get you from point A to Z, but it's up to you to make the drive a scenic one. If there is enough interest in this, I will get it roughed out and posted.

"No, really. After you. Afterall, it is ladies first." Marrok rolled his eyes as he strode past.

"Entitlement," he muttered to himself with a tone of disgust. "Privilege is earned." He came to a brief stop as Corbyn addressed the gathered. Marrok glanced over to the skateboard aficionado and gave a confused smirk after he and the councilman's exchange. It seemed like everyone thus far, with the exception of the Corbyn himself, was very laid back. That was good for a few reasons. It gave those that were focused an edge and it meant that it would likely be easy to get along with the others. No one seemed real confrontational.

That was a big change. Marrok's pack was militant and disciplined. Each member was family for whom you'd kill or die. The pack was as strong as their weakest link, so they all made sure their weakest was still a force to be reckoned with. Even Stan, the happy-go-lucky drunk, was a beast of a wolf when he was called to arms. This whole environment would take some getting used to.

As they continued inside, Marrok regarded the woman descending the staircase with mild curiosity. She was attractive and petite, but he couldn't help but wonder what her other self looked like. They say dynamite comes in small packages. Maybe that small frame was hiding a monster. As she helped Corbyn segregate the sexes, he followed the councilman toward the east corridor. There was mention of roommates, which could present an interesting dynamic. As they walked, he looked to the faces of those with him, continuing to size them up, to observe how they moved, how their faces reacted. He felt like he could tolerate rooming with any of them and, actually preferred it. Friends close, competition closer. As the thought crossed his mind, his eyes fell on the larger guy from the van. He'd definitely be one to keep eyes on.
