D I A N T H E S A R R I S Safehouse

Capello's pizza was truly a masterpiece of culinary art. Just the right amount of marinara sauce was under a thick layer of pure mozzarella, and while not greasy, the personal pizza was perfect crunchy and chewy. Crust risen just right without a trace of the dough being burnt, and with every bite it was like a piece of heaven was in her mouth. For a solid second of that first bite Dianthe was no longer in the safehouse with her Kingsglaive unit, but with her pizza. And if it hadn't been for her leaders powerful voice, she would have been lost in Capello's famous pepperoni masterpiece. It was hard to tell if she was taking his word seriously as gooey cheese threatened to drop on her uniform, but Dianthe's crystal blue eyes watched Nero with great interest as he spoke of the missions risk.

The threat of war was something Kingsglaive was used to, but since this drama was between the two biggest powers on the planet there was no telling what kind of destruction such a war could cause. There was no half-assing it on this mission, not that she'd half-assed one before, but the seriousness of the situation was nothing to play around with. "Incidentally I'd like to remind everyone that I'm still leading in kills/knockouts by seven, so, you know, step it up for this one."

Eyes narrowing, Dianthe threw Gideon a small glare before smirking, "A hundred dollars says I'll take that lead." The challenge made all of Dianthe's previous thought look hypocritical, but her pride was too big not to make an attempt top knock out. As satisfying as completing a mission was, knocking Gideon down from his pedestal was, if not more, satisfying than the latter. It was a playful rivalry, but Dianthe knew better lose focus of her priorities. It also didn't help that stealth missions weren't her forte, but tonight it would have to be. So with her head held high, the princess strode past Gideon with confidence in her step as she made her way to the pick-up zone. There was no way she was going to lose to him, and with the weight of the world literally depending on this mission, Dianthe was going to make sure to bring her A game on this one.

D I A N T H E S A R R I S Palace of Ivalice

The flight to Ivalice was longer than Dianthe would have liked, but she had spent most of it listening to the music on her phone. Eyes closed, and listening intently, she had gone through most of the old time tunes by the time they reached their destination. Standing with the rest of her team, she kept her eyes locked on Nero as he began their briefing. She had done this sort of thing many times before, hopping out of planes that is, and the gauntlet was also very familiar as stated by Nero in his explanation to the rest of the team. Rolling her eyes before flexing her fist within the gauntlet, Dianthe's took her free hand and grabbed Ophian from her seat. Locking the sheathed sword to the metallic plate on her back, a cold chill ran up her back as anticipation and excitement welled up within her. 'Here we go.'

First it was Nero, then it was Gideon, and then Mirany. Not wanting to wait any longer, Dianthe stepped forward and took a peak out at the dive below. Clouds hung above the massive palace as she watched her two other teammates follow after their leader within the air. Looking back at Blair and Saga, the redhead gave the other two a thumbs up before pulling her mask up over the bridge of her nose and jumping out. Wind whipped at her face as she fell, the cool night air burning at her skin as her eyes squinted in response to the pressure. Glancing at the castle she gazed at the towering structure as she fell beside it. Vibrant blue eyes glanced back at the ground with haste as she caught sight of one of the two guards standing near the door. Adjusting her fall and dropping in fast, Dianthe snapped her fingers no more than thirty feet above the guard as she used the momentum of her fall to knock him unconscious. Digging her knee into his back as she grabbed the back of his head and forced him onto the ground, Dianthe took him out on impact. Dragging the unconscious body of the guard away from the door, she leaned him against the wall before returning to the group and adjusting her mask. Grinning visibly beneath her mask, a shaky breath slipped from her lips as she whispered quietly to the rest of her team, "Man, it feels good to do that again."
I'll try to have a post up by tonight or tomorrow! Might be pretty busy today, but I'll for sure have something by tomorrow.
I'll try to have a post up by tonight! Might be a little busy today, so I probably won't be too active on the OOC either. We'll see how things go.~

Written in the history books throughout Azalea, the first trace of humankind on the planet was found in the Northern Hemisphere in the Continent known as Eigis. An arctic jungle diverse of polar creatures, the continent is populated by a native race known as Terrans who have blood ties to the First Men of the planet. Covered in ruins and villages, its citizens still live in ancient buildings and structures said to date back thousands of years ago. For centuries Azalea's archeologist and scientist have found the continent to be a hotbed of history, and to this date, items of old are still being found today. As of recently, Dianthe was notified of a discovery taken place within one of the many dig sites on the continent. An item, which she soon learned was called a vinyl disc, was discovered with over thirty other discs perfectly reserved in time thanks to the frozen temperature.

In it's fragile state the disc was found to be too precious to study directly, and with modern technology, the vinyl was read, repaired, and remade. And what was found was none other then music. As the senior historian at Algerath's Natural History Museum, Dianthe was given the music and made responsible to set up an exhibit, but with a recent message from her second job the young woman was unsure if she even had the time to look into the project. As frustrating as it was, Dianthe had accepted the jobs despite her hesitation, and as she sat in her beat up silver Toyota she found herself looking over the audio files that had been uploaded onto her phone.

Scrolling through the countless names, she finally settled on an artist and song as tapped it open. Frank Sinatra - That's Life. The song artist and title name was an absolute mystery to the historian, but for the sake of good money and getting a taste of the past, Dianthe decided to give it a listen. Connecting her phone to her car radio, she leaned back in her seat and waited to hear what came off of the cleaned up audio, and as it played goosebumps slowly rose on her skin. The music, while grainy, was comprehendible. It was unlike anything she had ever heard before, and it was in no way like the music that was currently polluting Azalea's mainstream radio stations. Upbeat, jazzy, and soulful, she couldn't help but hop in her seat as she danced softly to the oddly appropriate song. Turning on her car and putting it into reverse, Dianthe backed out of her parking spot and headed off to finish a few errand before making her to the Safehouse.

After running her errands the rest of the drive was short and peaceful, and with her equipment already sitting in her locker at the safehouse, Dianthe decided against stopping at her apartment and instead headed straight to headquarters. Parking outside of the seemingly empty structure beside Nero's sedan and Saga's Jeep, Dianthe lugged out a handful of bags as she kicked her car door closed and locked it with the button on her keys. It had been a fair struggle to get inside, nearly dropping a number of items as she fought to balance the bags on her chest and get her hand read on the pad. Descending down once inside, the familiar voices of her teammates filled her ears as the elevator came to a halt and the doors slid open. Saga getting on Nero's case, Blair defending him, and Gideon complaining even before the mission, Dianthe couldn't help but feel at home again as she took in the leathery smell of the Safehouse.

"Do you suppose that the brass could be convinced to give us more than an hour's warning next time? I might've been in the middle of some important diplomatic business."

"Oh hush, Gideon. I can smell the alcohol on your breath even in the elevator. In fact, I bet you're nursing a hangover right now." Oh, it was good to be back.

Throwing a playful wink Gideon's way, Dianthe turned her gaze to Blair, Saga, Mirany, and Nero as an excited grin stretched across her face, "Can you all believe it's been so long! We've finally got the band back together!" While it had been half a year Dianthe had stayed in touch with her teammates, often visiting them personally or calling everyone together at Blair's bar whenever they were available, which was often rare. So despite seeing them recently, the princess' excitement was focused on the mission aspect of their regrouping. It was only on missions that Dianthe felt closest to her team, and she was more than ready to get back into the field after such an extended vacation.

Carrying her bag of treats over, she dropped them at the center of the table after neatly moving a few maps Mirany had laid out. "Since it's been so long I decided to get you all a little something, kind of like a celebratory present. So, I hope you all are hungry!" She said, almost speaking directly to Nero as she stared him down with a hard look. Knowing her leader, he had probably eaten earlier but she knew he would never turn down a piece of pizza from Capello's Pizzeria, Algerath's best Italian Cuisine and Pizzeria.

Frozen chocolate strawberries and a fruit salad for Blair, a personal sized supreme pizza from Capello's for Nero, a bowl of Shrimp Scampi with Linguini -- also from Capello's -- for Saga, an iceberg cheeseburger and lemonade from another one of Algerath's famous diners for Mirany, and a tall fruit shake and salad for the hangover king himself. Staring proudly at the display of food on the table, Dianthe crossed her arms and gave herself a mental pat on the back, "It was payday, so no thanks necessary." With that said, the redhead made her way to the locker room where she removed her business clothes and changed into her Kingsglaive uniform before returning to her teammates. Pulling out one of the many chairs as she leaned her sheathed weapon against the tabled, Dianthe plopped down on the cushioned seat before grabbing her own personal pepperoni pizza, "Looks like we're all here, then. Go ahead, take it away, boss man." She said, putting her full attention on Nero before shoving a piece of pizza in her mouth.
Finished up my relationship section, and thanks ic! Let me know if I should make any changes, or if I've gotten the wrong idea about your character. I'm also open to discussing relationships further if anyone is interested.

Focusing on my IC post now!
@Redrum I've updated my CS to include a relationship section on Dianthe--go ahead and look it over to see if I've pegged her correctly! Also, is her name pronounced "die-AN-thee" or something else?

Seems on point to me, and you've got the name right!

I'm currently working on a relationship section for Dianthe, and I've already got a bit of IC post written out. I'll also be adding a few more bits of information to her Trivia section, as well as a theme for her!

Appearance

Bearing an approachable smile while also carrying a relaxed presence where ever she goes, Dianthe is radiant young woman both in mind an body. Her style is often seen as reserved and fashionable. Black, grey, and neutral colors make up most of her attire while Dianthe prefers to wear skirts and dresses as opposed to pants and shorts. Porcelain skin, bright red hair, and tan freckles is the trademark look of a Fennian, and her light accent only makes it more obvious of her origins. Standing tall, Dianthe is light on her feet and carries a grace in her step thanks to years of etiquette training during her childhood. Small waisted with wide hips, her triangle shaped figure is curvy yet athletic as her combat style requires a specific kind of training. Dianthe's legs are long and evenly toned, and while concentrating more on her upper body and arms, intensive training has allowed her to push past her limits when it comes to endurance and cardio. With thin wrists and long slender fingers, Dianthe's seemingly fragile hands are capable of a vice like grip while weight lifting, upper body training, and physically extreme hobbies have granted her great strength and stamina.

Weapon

Capable of two forms, Ophian, is a five foot segmented broad sword that can collapse and separate into a fifteen foot whip. Hand crafting the trick weapon and adjusting it over the years, Dianthe has trained herself to use the complex tool with exact precision and proficiently. With great accuracy, and a dash of finesse in her technique, Ophian allow her to utilize both short and long range attacks at various and unsuspecting angles. With a durable cord made of flexible titanium alloy fibers, the blades of the tricks weapon are made from carbon steel sharpened to cut through most material and objects. Ophian's long length allows the weapon to be used as a grappling device while also extending Dianthe's reach.

Personality

The world, while beautiful and full of possibilities, is also full of ugliness and misfortune. While some live in luxury in the safety of privilege and wealth, others struggle to make it day by day. Not one person has lived through the same experiences, and with this thought in mind Dianthe has grown to live by the moral code of always staying optimstic. If not for herself, but for the people around her and in her life. In the sight of fear and misery, she strives to be the light at the end of the tunnel and the saving grace for those who are struggling and dealing with misfortune, and while one would call this a complex, Dianthe see's this as a duty. Born into a life of privilege and peace, her goal in life is to bring those around her the same happiness and comfort she was blessed to be raised in. Not necessarily a ray of sunshine, she prefers to stay positive and look at the optimistic side things no matter the situation. Nothing ventured, nothing gained is her life motto and with this mindset Dianthe has grown into the resilient, albeit stubborn woman that she is today.

Wearing her emotions on her sleeve, Dianthe is known for being quite the softy. While not overly emotional, it is easy for her to empathize with those around her. Putting others before herself more than often, this compassion is often seen as a target for manipulation but Dianthe has always had an eye for liars. With experience in tall tales thanks to her childhood, Dianthe can call out a lie with little hesitation, and due to her training with Flora's Royal Guard, she is more than capable of reading others by studying their physical actions and attire. Her gut instinct isn't anything to play around with either. Saving her own skin countless time thanks to quick reflexes and an on point instinct, Dianthe will put her own intuition above others and even authority if she gets a whiff of something fishy.

By no means is Dianthe shy. Unafraid to strike up a conversation with the unlikeliest of people, her charming disposition and approachable presence has always been quite the people pleaser, which has been more or a less a strength when it comes to her career. Despite her training with Royal Guard, Dianthe has retained her unending curiosity and passionate need for adventure. Confident in her decisions despite being prone to impulsive strategies and plans, she can be seen as reckless and at times even hazardous to her own health, however Dianthe would never put her friends or family in harms way. With nothing but good intentions and a worn smile on that she refuses to take off, Dianthe is willing to go through hell or take a bullet for the right reasons and people. This attitude has always caused conflict, but she would rather die a martyr than a coward.

History

Located just north of the equator, the small Kingdom of Flora exists on the mountainous continent of Fenn at the center of the Umora Ocean. Legend states that Flora began as a Temple for the great Idol, Titan. In his greatness he brought forth Mt. Ebon and raised it above the clouds before making the land of Fenn a maze of mountains and ridges to protect his chosen worshippers. Sitting on a plateau no more than a few hundred feet below the peak of Mt. Ebon, which also stands as Azalea's tallest mountain, Flora is a dense modernized city made up of towering white building and skyscrapers that stretch up the side of the mountain as a natural system of water flows down from the snowy peaks of Mt. Ebon and to the city below. As the capitol of Fenn, the royal family and Fenn's ruling Monarch, King Kyros Sarris, call Flora home. Travel by Airship is the only known way to access Flora, as the old tunnels within the mountain have long caved and crumbled away through time.

Called the "Kingdom Among the Clouds" by the rest of Azalea, Flora has celebrated centuries of peace and economic prosperity despite being overshadowed by the larger and much wealthier Kingdoms of Algareth and Ivalice. While thriving off of tourism thanks to it's tropical setting within the city and it's snowy mountainous region at the peak of Mt. Ebon, Flora is the leading distributor and manufacturer of crystal ammunition. Its close ties to Algareth have long helped the Kingdom prosper, and with the threat of war rising Flora has pledged an alliance with Algareth if conflict should ever occur.

As the only child of Prince Kyros, son and heir to the late King Abram Sarris, Dianthe was raised with great privilege and expectations. Like any royal she was put through etiquette training at a young age, and as the Princess of Flora she was to present herself with utmost grace and mannerism at all times. This lifestyle never seemed to sit well with Dianthe, however. As a child she never grasped the patience to take her etiquette training seriously, often tuning out her tutors and playing along only when being watched. In front of her father and grandfather Dianthe was seen as an well-mannered and respectable young girl, but away from watchful eyes, the little princess was crafty and adventurous. Often sneaking out of the castle when her father was away, Dianthe would take to the streets of Flora and explore the city on her own. It wasn't until her teenage years that Dianthe furthered her explorations to the peak of Mt. Ebon.

Having turned a blind eye to his daughters intrepid behavior for years, Kyros had become increasingly worried for his daughters safety as he learned of her travels up and down the mountain. Restricting her from leaving the castle walls without supervision, Dianthe was put into training with the Royal Guard in effort to teach her discipline and tame her impulsive behavior. While Kyros did this with good intentions, Dianthe had only grown distant from her father. It was in this time that the princess found comfort in her grandfather, King Abram. Old in age with a questionable bill of health, his worn state had made many concerned for his safety while parliament had already begun to question his clarity. It was more than visible that the Kings life would soon come to an end, but in her time spent with him Dianthe had denied seeing the exhaustion and pain in her grandfathers eyes. He told her stories of his travels to the great Kingdoms that lay outside of Fenn and across the great Umora Ocean, the many scandals that he had witnessed throughout his years in politics, and the often forgotten history of Azalea's great colonization that still stands as controversial today. He filled her head with great curiosity, and even within the confines of the castle, Dianthe's need for adventure only grew with time.

It was only a year later the great King Abram had peacefully passed away in his sleep. Flora was in mourning, and Dianthe was devastated. Prince Kyros ascended to the throne in no less than a week, and upon his crowning, he was now known amongst Azalea as King Kyros Sarris of Flora. With his new status came new responsibilities, and soon Dianthe saw little of her father. The castle had soon become a prison and with no one to turn to the young princess had pushed her grief aside and kept herself busy by training. Under the teachings of Flora's Royal Guard, Dianthe had become proficient with a sword and firearms. Into adulthood Dianthe had adapted her own style of combat, handcrafting her own weapon that she felt suited her best. As her combat skills and behavior matured overtime, her father was quick to see that his little princess was no long the impulsive and rebellious girl he had once known. It had saddened the King that his relationship he once had with his daughter had come to a halt long ago and upon realizing of the isolation he had caused her, Dianthe was finally granted the freedom she had long thought was out of reach.

It wasn't long that she left Flora, letting little word pass of her leave besides giving her father a farewell. She took on the alias of Dianthe Simril and in less than three years her travels had taken her through four different continents and hundred of cities and villages. Growing an appreciation for different cultures and a passion for aiding those in need and less fortunate throughout her vagabond days, Dianthe had decided to settle down in Algerath shortly after her 21st birthday with an interest in it's prestigious and revered university, Haven. Dianthe has called the Kingdom home for more than three years and has since found a job as at Algerath's Natural History Museum as the Senior Historian and Curator for Exhibits.

Gideon:

Gideon's arrogant attitude had never sat well with Dianthe, but over the course of three years of working alongside him, she can't help but admit that he's grown on her. Sharing quite a few similarities, especially in lifestyle, Dianthe relates to Gideon more than anyone else within Kingsglaive. Not one to be fazed by his charm, Dianthe enjoys picking on her teammate. Often stealing his thunder or causing his witty remarks or insults to backfire, Dianthe's playful teasing is just that and it only makes things better that he doesn't take it to heart.

Mirany:

With little interaction besides helping her out with translations or working together on missions, Dianthe has found that of all her teammates, Mirany is the most mysterious. Her attempts to grow closer to the other woman have fallen flat in multiple occasions, but Dianthe has never given up trying to get closer teammate.

Blair:

While distant and cold, Dianthe has avidly tried to become closer to her youngest teammate. Going as far as inviting her out to parties and events, and frequently texting her despite receiving no reply most of the time, Dianthe happens to be Blair's most frequent patron at her bar where she botherskeeps her teammate company on her days off.

Nero:

O' Captain, My Captain! Nero's laid back and witty persona has always been a treat to be around, and since joining Kingsglaive, Dianthe has grown quite close to her team leader. Sharing a similar love for pizza, and extreme sports, Dianthe holds great respect for him and if it really came down to it, she'd follow Nero to the bitter end.

Saga:

Compassionate, strong, and confident; besides Nero, Dianthe holds a deep respect for Saga and trusts her word above all others. Finds herself looking up to the woman more often then not, Dianthe has found not only a role model in her teammate, but a close friend.
As mysterious as I like to be, I wanted to make my appearance known before I let the OOC and IC slip away from me. I was previously approved by @icmasticc a few days ago but personal matters have kept me from posting my character. I'm just adding the final touches to give my sheet a little more flare, and by tomorrow morning I'll have my it up in the Character Section -- and hopefully -- an IC post to follow. Looking forward to writing with you all, and I can't wait to see where this plot leads us!
@icmasticc Doing a bit of world building in my character sheet now, but before I take things too far I wanted to ask you what the other names of the Idols are, along with the element they represent?
